Fuck man this takes me back. Absolutely fucking awesome upload/band/song!!!! First saw Testament as support to Anthrax back in the 80's/90's!!!!!(yeah can't remember exactly when lol!!) Love this band, awesome \m/o\m/
And again.. Louie makes it tick like no other drummer. They all very good .. Paul / Gene.. and we all know what Dave is capable of .. but Louie is the powerhouse. It all comes together. Reign of terror.. Cotlod.. Over the wall.. Diciples of the watch. The Haunting.. the New Order.. Man... i still rock Louie!
@@MichaelFougere It blows me away that Testament has had this ever-turning revolving door with a drummer to stick with them as a permanent member. I mean, they have put just about every top 5 or 8 drummers in thrash metal behind the kit but, they all seem to go back to their old band... or back to... somewhere! Never seen a band that has had all of the best, yet none have stayed. Just look at the "ALL-STAR" list who've come & gone (in some cases, more than once!) . You got Lombardo AND Bostaph, Gene Hoglan, Chris Adler was trying to get in til he got "Lombardo'ed". They've also entertained others by the names of Kontos, Ronchette, Allen, Tempesta, Barker, Jon Dette & Louie Clemente. Those guys (Billy, Skolnick & Peterson) must be... Idk but, none have stuck around for more than an album or so. Some not even THAT long.
@@m.c.ruckus2032 other than Clemente, Hoglan was their longest serving drummer, 4 albums including Demonic and 13 years continuously. Dave Lombardo is an odd situation. We're talking about a legendary drummer with his own legendary back catalog. So aside from The Gathering, he's a hired gun playing drum parts written by other legendary drummers. Hers going to spend most of his time cover other drummers in Testament.
@@MichaelFougere I fully agree with you. Dave IS a hired gun. His legacy is above all. Hoglan's resume is right up there too. Between the two though, I gotta give the edge to Lombardo (imo). For him, playing with Testament is like doing covers of prior drummers that were in the band when those songs were first written & released. He doesn't mind though bc he's made his mark as the best & has nothing left to prove (& everyone knows it!), other than that he's still got it. Doing it with a band that has been & still is highly respected It's keeping him in shape, still loves to play, the songs are a bit of a change of pace but loves it. Not to mention getting paid. So Dave, yeah clearly a different case - and also true that Gene was their longest running member behind the kit, Testament still has otherwise had a revolving door in the sticks dept (as a whole)for a band in which most members have been consistant, mostly. Not making an argument my friend, just an observation.
I know I'm going to get hate for this, but Chuck Billy's vocal talents are better now/ early 2000s than when they first started out. This is why, I think that Formation of a Damnation is better than their earlier stuff. Their earlier stuff, like Legacy and The New Order kinda sounded like Metallica clones, but I feel they found their style with Formation.
Who put this concert video together? They shouldn’t have received a dime. How do you not have Skolnick’s solo as the focal point the entire time he’s playing it? I got crowd shots, a view from the rhythm players nuts, quick hitting drum shots, sprinkled in with snippets of Skolnick shredding from his insides out. WTF????
skolnick is probably the best 80s thrash lead guitarist....but his short hair in this video made him look like a supporting guitarist...didn't really blend in with the band physically, but he still kicks kirk's ass!!
The short hair just make him cooler than any typical long hair metal guitarist ...but you know The guy can play any kind of music even jazz and some Mozart or bethiven classics shits.. Do ya ?
This is pure thrash metal, You just need to see these guys. This song is the most played song in my mp3 player. OVER THE WALL!
Best song ever

This singer kicks ass!!
I've seen testament a few times and it seems they get better and better...
Amazingly tight, great band.
Eric's highs at 1:42 are some of the most insane I've heard, I wish he did this screaming more in studio or in concert.
Most underrated riff writer in history. It's criminal that they don't get the recognition they deserve

And again.. Louie makes it tick like no other drummer.
They all very good .. Paul / Gene.. and we all know what Dave is capable of .. but Louie is the powerhouse. It all comes together.

TESTAMENT IS
Chuck Billy - vocals
Eric Peterson - guitars
Alex Skolnick - guitars

It's Louie Clemente on drums. He shared drum duties with John Tempesta on this tour. But it's Louie on this.

He's rasp has only been getting better over the years.
