+Roberto F. AH OK, the old Sepultura with the Cavalera Bros. Yeah I love Beneath.., Arise and Chaos A.D., but after that they played only shit. I think that isn´t enough to get in this league of outstanding Metal bands which formed Metal over decades.
FUCKING AMAZING!!!!! FUCKING BRUTAL!!! Til this day, these guys can put a show and Chuck Billy sounds amazing after fighting off throat cancer!!! These guys fucking rule!!!!
Amazing performance. Chuck and Alex headbanging like a beast. I could just watch them headbang like that for hours let alone listen to and watch their performance.
IIIRattleHeadIII In 1993, Alex Skolnick and Louie Clemente were temporarily replaced respectively by Glen Alvelais and Paul Bostaph, both belonging to the Forbidden band. This formation published the live EP "Return to the Apocalyptic City". Shortly after this release, Glen Alvelais left the band and Paul Bostaph joined the Slayers.
Got to love reading all these "Big Four" comments. You people do realize that it's not a "Top Four" list, right? They're not the Big Four because they're the best or better than other bands, they're the Big Four because they pioneered the genre and made it possible for other bands to get their foot in the door/paved the way for Death Angel, Testament, Overkill, Vio-lence, Pantera, Sepultura and many others. Yes there were other bands out at the time like Exodus and etc. but these guys were on another level. You show respect to the forefathers of Thrash and appreciate what they did for Metal not make a list of who you think is more deserving of their legacy.
Vio-Lence literally has 1 good album, eternal nightmare, oppressing the masses is destroyed by the likes of rust in peace and seasons in the abyss for 2 popular egs from the same year, and no they arent just the big 4 because they pioneered, they are the big 4 coz their masterpieces as recognized as gold standards in metal, so stop this retarded false pretense about the big 4 just being the big 4 only coz of them being pioneers lol
That bass tone! I saw Testament support Anthrax in 1988, and I pitied Dan Spitz listening backstage to Alex Skolnick's incredible solo spot and knowing he had to do one later!
claudio benavidez ahora mismo están súper vigentes aun , girando por el mundo , con la compañía de steve di giorgio en bajo y gene hoglan en batería , los demás , los de siempre
EPIC FREAKIN ALBUM!!!! Badass dark complex rhythms. The best vocal patterns, with perfect vocals, befitting to the sound and style!!!! TOTALLY UNDERRATED!!!!!!
This particular live is part of the Return to the Apocalyptic City mcd! They NEVER disappoint and they MUST be at Big 4 not Anthrax imo! They have NEVER released a bad album!!🤘🤘
Bonded by blood was recorded in summer 84 but delayed due to label issues. It didnt come out until april 85 but still in my opinion Kill em All, Show No Mercy and Bonded by blood and Fistful of metal really paved the way for Thrash metal. Testament, Sadus, Dark Angel, Death Angel, Sacred Reich are all Second wave Monsters of Thrash!!

This is awesome Testament trivia history! I knew Bostaph played/recorded with them on (a couple occasions?) but didn't recall Glen in the band. I know they've had A LOT of members come and go over the years. Looks like I need to get my hands on that EP. (I thought that sounded like Bostaph's playing, in the video...)
+markyboyire The fact they sold more records is why they are part of the Big Four. What's so hard to believe about that? Listen I am a much bigger Testament fan than I am an Anthrax fan, but it's not hard to realize that the "Big Four" are called that because they are the 4 "biggest" bands in Thrash. Anthrax was a lot more known on a commercial level, a lot more popular. That's what puts them in the Big Four. It's not called the Big Four because it's the 4 best bands. It's the 4 biggest.
Yes, a great band Overkill and my favorites albuns are: Taking Over, Fell The Fire and Necroshine. Are a lot of bands, all great and is very hard for only big four.

One of the greatest metal bands of all time..
+Roberto F. Exodus and Dark Angel as well. two thrash giants. I'd put Death Angel right behind them.
+Roberto F. Change Sepultura with Kreator, that would be the same league.
+Roberto F. AH OK, the old Sepultura with the Cavalera Bros. Yeah I love Beneath.., Arise and Chaos A.D., but after that they played only shit. I think that isn´t enough to get in this league of outstanding Metal bands which formed Metal over decades.

What's pantera have to do with anything?

The highest quality in this performance. They sound just perfect and that's the way it should be! \m/
That bass tone! I saw Testament support Anthrax in 1988, and I pitied Dan Spitz listening backstage to Alex Skolnick's incredible solo spot and knowing he had to do one later!

I LOVE TESTAMENT😍😍😍😍😍😍. CHUCK BILLY HAS THE PERFECT VOICE🤗🤗🤗
EPIC FREAKIN ALBUM!!!!
Badass dark complex rhythms.

TOTALLY UNDERRATED!!!!!!
The most consistent band in metal, they have never released a bad album 🤘🏻💀
I remember seeing them in the 80s.. What ever happened to real music?
Testament is still putting it out!
@@stevepolgar2000 Slot of bands are still putting it out. The question is where were you in the 90s, 00s, and 10s?
One of the best thrash metal bands ever
Definitely should be in the big 4..greatest thrash band
This particular live is part of the Return to the Apocalyptic City mcd! They NEVER disappoint and they MUST be at Big 4 not Anthrax imo! They have NEVER released a bad album!!🤘🤘
Anthrax totally deserves the spot, also Testament Is a second wave thrash metal band, big 4 are the First wave.
Testament most righteously deserves to make the "Big 4" the "Big 5". The new Brotherhood of the Snake album absolutely cements this. Crushing.
Right! And Exodus are the big 6th
You can Chuck's highs fading away and his big low end voice kicking in.
the very first testament song i heard 20 years ago!
yeah man ..... me too.... i was totally amazed!
same here lol wasnt 20 years ago since im only 20 but yeah. i love playing the solo :D its a challenge
most energetic solo ever!
congratulaions!!!!
my first song i heard from them to 26 years ago
best album ever. such sick clean tones and melodic solos.
That’s what you get with skolnick. The man is tits!

Best band in the world! ! !
J Madison saw them open up for priest in 91 Megadeth also jammed rust in peace and souls of black painkiller headlined
omg what a fucking heavy song
Vasilios Petris put it together with the clean intro = masterpiece
OBEEEEEYYYYYYY chuck billy you are the best
I can't believe that this is so great
Yep I agree one of the best Metal bands around!
This is a great song. Was into the Hair Metal back the day, but this song was, and is pretty cool.
There is nothing wrong with liking hair metal.
Hands down the best Thrash Metal band of all time.
chuck billy incredible
Gr8 fkn Live version of this song.! I Love it! Testament Rules!
I'm with you mark......testament fukin rules and never put out a bad record.....

Return to the apocalyptic city EP
Bought that in 1994 and it blew me away! Had to buy a second disc cause my first mysteriously vanished when someone moved.
Brilliant!
I saw them opening for Megadeth and Priest. To this day I only remember this song. Bless their heart.
Hell yeah Tucson, az. 1991 I was there my 7th grade year 🤘🤘🤘
great show!
Great sound quality wow
Surprised and glad to see Testament in this list.
These should be so much bigger!
how anthrax sold more records and are considered part of the big four compared to these guys completely baffles me
+markyboyire Overkill and Testament own Anthrax
+markyboyire Anthrax gravitated towards a nicer kinder form of metal, Testament stayed thrash.
+markyboyire The fact they sold more records is why they are part of the Big Four. What's so hard to believe about that? Big Four is based on influence. Testament came out much later.
Anthrax coined the term Thrash from they're song Metal Thrashing Mad. So yeah...
BEST. METAL. SONG. OF. ALL. TIME.
Testament will and always be fucking true metal gods. I seen them when i was 16 now my grown kids see the true metal gods as i seen them.
That Skolnick solo :O
Brilliant player in ever sense of the word. PERIOD.
That is Glen Alvalais playing the solo actually, this is a live version from Return to the Apocalyptic City E.P.
