  • Smoked chicken thighs in the Weber kettle is one of the best things you can do.
    Chicken thighs are tasty and easy to cook, add some tasty seasoning, a little smoke and you have a cheap and easy feed that anyone will love.
    In this video I show you how to season the chicken and how to create that crunchy skin while smoking it.

    Ingredients:
    6 x chicken thigh (bone in and skin on)
    2 teaspoons of garlic powder
    1 teaspoon of onion powder
    2 teaspoons of sweet paprika
    1& ½ teaspoons of kosher salt
    2 teaspoons of brown sugar
    ½ teaspoon of finely ground black pepper
    ¼ teaspoon of mustard powder
    ⅛ teaspoon of cayenne pepper
    Items Used:
    57cm (22”) Weber Kettle
    Kettle Kone / Vortex
    Chimney Starter
    Feeds: 3 to 6
    Preparation Time: 15 minutes
    Cook Time: 45 minutes
    Cuisine: Australian
    Hydration: 2 x beers

    Awesome, love the vid! I've always done my chicken thighs this way, but I've found they get even more tender and amazing inside if you bring the internal temp up to around 190. Awesome content dude.

      I got my mini Weber kettle from a florist in a Father’s Day arrangement. I bought flowers just to get the little kettle.

    You always seem to use briquettes in the kettle kone and not charcoal - have you found they work better?

    Great video shuey, 👏what happens with the drippings of the chicken without a drip pan? I thought if getting a vortex, but don’t want to get the kettle all fatty , am I being soft ??

      Little soft perhaps. I bought a cone this summer and love it. Yes the kettle gets dirty fast but I also got a 2 inch putty knife that makes clean up a breeze before next cook. After the first couple uses the kettle seems to smell even better now

      you can always put foil under the chicken, just cut out a hole/square in the middle to fit the vortex/kone.

    Fundamentally, it's a great cook. I just think bbq channels put to much shit on their shit.

      Thanks @raymondjbarron I cannot speak for all of them but it might be they are trying to standout or, you only have to look at the recipes and a lot of them just follow each other, copying a recipe by small amounts and claiming as something new.
