Indeed. He threw multiple toddler tantrums, but then he finally filled his nappy. The most telling aspects of his behaviour were the ease with which he agreed with the facts that he’d committed the offence, but seemed to believe that the act of catching him was somehow worse, and when at 19:55 he described himself as “a grown man” (debatable) then started crying and ran like a toddler to the police! I’ve rarely seen such nonsense, and I sincerely hope the pathetic little immature protothug reads this, and maybe reflects on his attitude to life. Truly appalling. Peace

The police should have officers riding around on bicycles in plain clothes, and no markings on their bikes, as motorists wont pay much attention to them and they can catch them red handed, more so in large cities with traffic jams, a lot of people will check their emails, text messages, or WhatsApp, twitter, which is of course against the law, keep up the great work Mikey your saving life's.

These people are the problem. Not those that catch them breaking the law. And the petty antics to try and distract. Mini Trump, Johnson, Farages the lot of them.

The thing is, he doesn't realise he is bringing more attention to himself. He’s not crying like a child, it’s stress. Whether or not he did something wrong (and he did), he is rightfully under emotional stress. He hopefully recognises police as authority figures, and if he was caught by a policeman, he’d probably be pissed off but contrite. Stationary phone drivers are still dangerous for many reasons: 1) The people using their phones when stationary are very often the same people using them when moving. They only put the phone down because I caught them. 2) They are entirely unaware of people crossing the road around them. See here where a phone driver almost hits someone in the queue twitter.com/phonekills/status/1491526464520560641?s=20 See this other tweet where a 5 year old child is almost hit by a phone driver who was stationary: x.com/cmdkenyon/status/1724483042046067052?s=20 And another: x.com/WelshBrendan2/status/1796099766557774129 3) They are entirely unaware of filtering cyclists and motorcyclists, despite the Highway Code requiring us to be aware of this. 4) Phone distraction lasts for a good time after you put the phone away. Even if you're only using the phone in each traffic queue at each junction (which is highly unlikely), then you're constantly topping up your mental distraction and are basically as disabled as a drunk driver. 5) Phone driving is worse than drink driving for distraction rates, and that's why it's part of the #Fatal4 behaviours that police target heavily. 6) Here's a police officer telling you that he has been on the scene for 3 fatal RTCs involving drivers who were stationary whilst using their phones, and then moved off and caused a collision: twitter.com/markandcharlie/status/1604073330751197184?s=20&t=uj8sgu7spu4cTyDqqqds2g 7) Policing phone drivers will help them stop other traffic offences too - it's vanishingly rare that someone only breaks a single traffic law like mobile phone use. 8) Parliament recently chose to strengthen the mobile phone law around stationary phone use because it's dangerous and the science supports this. I'm really not interested in this nonsense of "it's not dangerous when stationary, because it clearly is and it's clearly still very appropriate to catch these drivers.

It's a mystery to me why the police turned up just because a baby was having a tantrum, something they often fail to do when a real crime has occurred. And why did they want your details? Quite incredible.
Atrocious behaviour from someone who is almost 50 (and looks 70).
If your house got burgled they wouldn't turn up at all they would just phone you with a crime number for your insurance
They have got it all wrong

I know you are not supposed to hold your phone whilst driving. But considering he was doing half a mile an hour I wouldn't consider this dangerous
Stationary phone drivers are still dangerous for many reasons:
1) The people using their phones when stationary are very often the same people using them when moving. They only put the phone down because I caught them.
2) They are entirely unaware of people crossing the road around them. See here where a phone driver almost hits someone in the queue
twitter.com/phonekills/status/1491526464520560641?s=20
See this other tweet where a 5 year old child is almost hit by a phone driver who was stationary:

And another:
x.com/WelshBrendan2/status/1796099766557774129
3) They are entirely unaware of filtering cyclists and motorcyclists, despite the Highway Code requiring us to be aware of this.
6) Here's a police officer telling you that he has been on the scene for 3 fatal RTCs involving drivers who were stationary whilst using their phones, and then moved off and caused a collision: twitter.com/markandcharlie/status/1604073330751197184?s=20&t=uj8sgu7spu4cTyDqqqds2g
7) Policing phone drivers will help them stop other traffic offences too - it's vanishingly rare that someone only breaks a single traffic law like mobile phone use.
8) Parliament recently chose to strengthen the mobile phone law around stationary phone use because it's dangerous and the science supports this.
I'm really not interested in this nonsense of "it's not dangerous when stationary, because it clearly is and it's clearly still very appropriate to catch these drivers.

Stupidity tax. I love it. I love the fact that 4:32, he's holding up traffic for ages while moralising.
That cabbie provides an excellent example of confession through projection.
Well put!
Psychobabble
I'm glad Mikey does what he does, I see so many people on phones driving like absolute idiots. Just today I almost crashed with a driver on the phone who switched lanes, luckily I have great response and braked in time.
I’m a taxi driver and I for one respect you Mikey! I am so impressed that you can deal with these people and their cowardly ways every day. Stay strong!
He was a very angry small man with such an attitude, it was so cringy to see him try to blame his whole situation on you. TFL I hope you see this video!
Thank you very much! I support the taxi trade, and I accept that there are bad people in every group. Majority of cabbies are not like this guy at all, IMO.
@@CyclingMikey thanks for your kind words, I typed my comment about 5 mins in and I’ve added to it. Im honestly so shocked by his behaviour.
Email address to complain about licenced taxi drivers: tph.enquiries@tfl.gov.uk - send them a link to the video.
@@markplenty2631, why not report him to TFL, or does there need to be a conviction.
Imho, with those anger issues, he should not be licensed to carry passengers.
An old colleague of mine left trucking to go black cabbie, great guy. Perfectly suited to it too.
@@paulcollyer801 I’m not sure what’s happening but I’m sure by now TFL would be aware of this. The problem with TH-cam is you’re not sure how old the video is and what has happened or not happened since.
Amazing job Mike..them cab drivers like him are the ones that are lonely and miserable. Good job!
This driver is HILFRICKENLARIOUS and disfrickenscusting at the same time.
What this driver doesn't know is the police like what this videographer does! 🤣
Look, why didn't you just say disfrickengusting? Not only did you get the s in there twice but you misspelled the last part of the word. If we remove the fricken, you said disscusting. And you did the same thing with hilarious. You spelled it hillarious with 2 l's.
This may not seem like a big deal to you but two things will happen. 1: I'm gonna send this to the police. 2: This will go on TH-cam.
@@gownerjones it's a made up word to express a feeling so I can spell it any FRICKING way I want!
@@NorthPhoenixActivist THE POLICE AND TH-cam I TELL YOU
yes the scabby cabbie cried like a spoilt brat baby
I think what shocked me more about this whole video is that the taxi driver isn’t even 50 years old yet!!! 😳
He won't see 60 in that condition.
They say cycling is a lot better for your health.
Bloody hell!!! That’s a very hard nearly 50 damn!!!
Lmfao😂😂😂😂😂😂😂👏👏👏👏
😂😂😂
That cab driver is an abysmal human being, blaming others for his poor judgement. Very amusing that he accuses Mike of having no life for spending 20 minutes catching dangerous drivers and then he inconveniences hundreds of people by parking on double yellow causing an obstruction. He also accuses Mike of being a grass and then calls the law when he is in the wrong not Mike,😂🤣
Dont ever stop mate. Just be safe out there. Love from Australia.
I live in France these days, to get away from all these road raging morons that drive around in their potential killing machines! Disgusting behaviour!
The only disgrace here are the drivers who drive whilst on their phone. Bravo Mikey 👍
The fact that, within a minute of setting off, you found someone else on their phone just shows how much contempt drivers have for the safety of those around them.
Parked illegal on dubble yellow lines.
Cyclists too, who always run red lights.
The pent up emotion of a stressful situation really got to this bloke. I bet he felt awful the next day on reflection. Keep up the good fight Mikey
I doubt he felt awful he sees like a moron
Actions of a person who knows he has been caught doing aomething he shouldn't be doing and there's no excuse and no hiding place.
As Mikey rightly said, he's probably already got 6 points
Probably went home a kicked his cat 🐈
Cabbie dun wrong but who knows what brought him to this. We can all do madness at times
Holy moly. If there was ever some acting out of guilt, this is the one. Nice one Mickey x
I think this guy actually needs help, it looks like he has some issues that need resolving. No normal person reacts like this unless they're suffering with some mental health issues. Most likely long hours driving around a concrete jungle for a living has taken its toll. You can see by how emotional he got towards the end that something more is going on in this guys life to make him react in such a way. Hopefully he can get the help he needs.
He only gets emotional when the police turn up. After 15 years in security I have seen this many times. People being abusive and even threatening right up until the police turn up then start the water works. It's just another trick they have to try and come across as the victim.
Tbf, could be that this time could be his license
@@drob2897 he was emotional from the beginning- you can see he’s on the edge stress wise , probably lost his livelihood & taxi drivers are already struggling. Mikey smirking didn’t help .
He's a London cabbie.They are a breed apart.
He knew that he was likely to lose his cabbie's licence & wanted to blame anyone but himself.
Thats the sound of a man who's 3 points short of losing his licence 😂 😂 😂
…and three spanner’s short of a tool box
That was unbelievable! He'd clearly make a terrible burglar. Imagine him being caught with that outlook. "I was burgling a house and somebody tried to stop me and now I'm very upset - look at my crocodile tears". Well done Mikey.
Ye I was robbing a house officer and he is grassing me up can you arrest him please 🤣🤣👍
