I love that skateboarding has finally matured, that’s always been a pet peeve of mine how child likes the attitudes have been. It’s allowed a place for the likes of Andy’s style. He’s literally changing the game. Skateboarding will be better for it.
Yes, braille was my gateway to nine club. Even as a a 28 yr old learning. Skating can feel very exclusive and braille helps break down those barriers.
Love how friendly Andy is with every pocket of the skate industry. Even “cringy” TH-camrs.
ME TOO haha. I started skating at two years ago 28 - braille helped me gain confidence gave little tips. I still suck, but it doesnt stop me going to Macba and doing my shuvits
I love seeing comments like this. The whole concept is we get new people into skateboarding and they then start watching Berrics and Nine Club and become a part of the whole skate ecosystem.

I originally started skating in 2001 and everything was exclusive, hesh, punk, I couldn't even get help from homies at school, so when I injured myself I didn't feel welcome to come back once healed. Fast forward to 2020 when I started skating again and braille has been there for entertainment and education for many things I've needed help with. I got ollies and shuvs on concrete with no wheels in the crack, just yesterday. All thanks to tips from braille. Now to start trying them rolling. Thanks for everything braille!

@@BRANANDOOOM congrats dude that's awesome. They've been helpful even for me after getting sober in my late 20s, even though I could already skate (like you said, back when it was few and far between to find skaters willing to breakdown a hardflips for instance )

I think Andy is a great pro to be an example for kids starting skating today. He's gnar when he wants to be but also tech and groovy-tech lol

and he confidently always wears a helmet well skating, Andy will transform the sport in that sense alone.
I believe more and more skaters are going to grow up with the mentality of protecting there head and brains, skaters of this generation are already much more health conscious then skaters of the past era's and of course with the olympics now in the picture skaters have finally transitioned to being elite world class athletes... and with certain gatekeepers gone that insisted on skateboarding having to be extremely gnar, the shift of skaters starting to wear helmets must be on the horizon.
I think were in the beginning phase of a helmet revolution in skateboarding just as has happened in so many other sports... there was a time that NHL players didnt wear any helmets or face protection either and there was a stigma around those that did choose to start wearing them but eventually everyone caught on to the understanding that you cant be the best in the world if you lose an eye or go brain dead or worse... skateboarders arent super human; at the end of the day if you want to have a long successful career as a top level elite skater, you might want to consider helmeting up.
otherwise if it doesnt evolve naturally for the above type of reasons the industry will continue to ignore helmets until one of the greats or an upcoming great has a regrettable accident and career altering head injury well skateboarding, which is what it took for most other sports to wise up.

48 and 1 1/2 months back into skateboarding....I swear even before I started back I was watching these "The Nine Club" videos. You guys are great and providing such a great platform for all of us not only to learn, relive our childhood, just get to know you all better....but to also just truly enjoy the stories that go along with all the skate videos and clips viewed over the years is priceless!! Andy is what skating should be! Too often people are too picky about their spots and Andy shows that it is actually your mindset’s problem, not the spot. He can turn anything into something that is just as much fun to watch him ride as he is having. Vibes are for sure contagious!

Skaters are the best people in the world. I'm 37 and Andy has me wanting to get a new board. After 15 years and a broken ankle, I thought I was done, but he is insane, on flat. I want an Andy board, but probably the smaller one. 8" boards were BIG when I was skating.
Super good episode, i was so happy to watch every second of this. Also if you get some of the big brain skaters together like Rodney dont forget Deawon for real, maybe before Andy and Rodney, do one where Deawon and Rodney can talk about the past and help break the ice a little
I would love to see Daewon and Rodney just talk about anything and everything skate related. That would be a fascinating conversation. It'd be good to have it on the nine club so they can guide the conversation.

I was born in 2001, Im one of the kids of the new millennium. I can tell you with 100% guarantee that almost if not all, the kids i grew up with skateboarding, we all took notes from Aaron Kryo and the whole Braille team. Those guys made skateboarding so fresh and inviting.

AA is such a great person it’s so cool to listen to his take on things. Most times when you have younger guests on the interview can be a bit lacking imho, not to discount some of the younger skaters but they just don’t have the life experiences to keep it interesting. This dude is wise beyond his years and a straight up ripper
andy shrock actually put out a really and i mean really well done and explained video of how to actually skate handrails lik eten years ago and i learned how to fs grind and boardslide bigger and actual rails cause of it its was awesome

Old skater here, I skated Chris Baucom Walker and Scmitt Stix and am getting back into it now that I am back to the mentality of not giving a F - my 43 year old body may give a few but we'll see. Covid has opened up spots to skate like mad, no people, abandoned structure and buildings, no one to see me eat it. Big fan of Andy, his attitude and maturity is so refreshing.
Nka is the legend of youtube pure skateboarding and helps so many people get where there going if there's a hall of fame this man needs to be in it

Going into high school in the late 80s - loads of skaters - and they were already my mates!
My first day of high school was 2011. I wore some vans old skools with some straight fit jeans with the hips and ass tore out from bailing so much and a element hoodie. Had my element bag with my board clipped into it and got kicked out for my back pocket being so ripped my boxers showed through😂 it was definitely a terrible first day impression but it was a good memory 😂

Braille gave me the love back for skating , and got me back into it 100%! Braille in a way pointed me in the direction of the nine club - which in turn allowed me to realize to understand the importance of knowing skate history, respecting who has been before etc
