The "transportative" aspect he talks about is true. For people who never experienced dedicated VR (not mobile phone VR or google cardboard), this looks wonky but believe people who have been in VR when we say it really feels so immersive. It puts you in a different headspace, like you're in a lucid dream or another place. But gosh I was giggling when Zuck was so jittery in VR the guy did that 2:51 thing.

Its only $299 for 64 gb version, although its currently unavailable to buy on the website, it will be back at mid October with an upgrade (better foam, and 128 gb storage) with the same $299 price tag.

    • @Drstrange3000

Yes, it has spatial audio. Even in VR games, there is spatial audio. When playing something, when you turn hear head closer to something or are closer, the sound increases and becomes clear. The same vice versa. It is a lot like how it would be in real life.

Yeah.... a screen cast into VR space..... I don't think that's gonna work. For simple document work with LOTS of zoom in, yeah sure. But for more complicate thing like working on 3D model, working in a 3D game engine with lots and lots of small text and UI element? I don't see that happening especially in Quest 2 screen resolution. And of course the latency, it's very hard and you lost a lot of productivity if there's a lot of screen latency when working in that kind of 3D work.

at the moment it's a specific keyboard and it's slowly visually tracked by the headset and u see a 3d model of it in vr
but there r plans for a window u can set up with any keyboard but the video is low res
and yes u can connect any keyboard but u can't see it at the moment

People haven't even seen what will be possible with cloud compute involved. Image working in an architecture firm and being able to literally stand in front of a building you're working on and it's all to scale. Or designing an airplane interior where you can toggle passengers on and off to show how seating would work. Meeting rooms bring the uninitiated in but it's the creative minds that will really make this thing indespensible.
