Theo made a good observation. Sometimes burnout can be perceived as not working hard enough which further worsens the condition. And I like her point about dating apps making people disposable when what we actually need is more human connection.
I dated a woman for 5 months, everything seemed like it was going well. She later decided she wasn't feeling a spark after all the dates, kisses, holding hands etc. I was so heartbroken to find out she went back on the dating apps 2 days. Never will I date online.
She missed what Theo was saying about fighting lions. He's saying we are creating them inside ourself because we are hardwired to find lions. If they aren't in the outside where we can slay the, WE create them on the inside. We need lions. Our brain needs the stimulation of an intermittent perceived threat so we can operate.
No she got it. She said that all of our fears are psychological meaning that it’s inside us looking for things that can go wrong rather than an external threat.
Theo! Consider going back to school. Not because you need it but because you’re in the position where you have the ability to. Take a couple psych classes. Take some classes that sound interesting to you.
My method for managing stress was leaving the United States. Having a normal health care system, clean food, safety, and clear water has really improved my health.

Ya need cortisol spikes to commit thing to memory and to get stuff done. If ya stressed all the time ya don't get the spikes in cortisol when they are needed.
Most stress is from an environmental aspect of your life and just cutting it out isn't as easy as breathing. If this was the case we wouldnt be stressed eg working long hours : we gotta pay bills after effect don't see the family alot stress on emotional stress. Go to the gym , do some press ups, have a day for the kids (more so when they are young they grow fast!) Have sex or even treat yourself for once or even women treat your man this goes aloooonnggggg way in meaningfulness to a man, we are simple creatures!
I discovered I’m happy when I’m not around people. Ive been social isolating ever since and my mental health has done a complete 180 flip. Most of my stress on a daily basis came from interacting with people
@@Ottophil Same, lots of people are energy vampires that either want something material from you or for you to make them feel better that can lead to toxicity. Healthy doses of solitude is huge but not so much that you over isolate and disconnect from the world.

It's all about mentality and choice, you don't need corporations to control you if you choose to not give into it. Don't eat junk food at fast food restaurants, stay off social media apps or limit use, don't spend on poorer quality goods and services that cost more. The moment you feel like you have no free will to choose is when you give up on your willingness to be better and do better
I can’t recall my brain ever being so confused by someone’s physical attractiveness as it is with this lady. From a one angle she is beautiful to me and a slight turn and she is ugly. Then another slight turn and she’s beautiful again. Or she will make a facial expression and she’s beautiful again and a fraction of a second later her expression will slightly change in a way I don’t find her attractive anymore. Until a split second later and her expression changes she’s beautiful once more until she utters a new syllable and I perceive her as ugly again. Briefly until she’s pretty again. I didn’t mean to be offensive to her but curious if anyone else experienced this oscillating beauty perception.
I don't think it was meant in a way that we should just manage with stress, I think it's meant as in every day stresses happen we should learn coping skills in order to be aware of the things that can stress us and able to acknowledge it

The best way is to distract yourself. Go out & have fun. Life ain’t just about being productive. Also exercise… take care of yourself.

It seems that the software we evolved with doesn't work so well in the modern world.
It’s actually protective. Especially as a child, it keeps you safe and surviving the best way possible for your specific situation.

There are three natural modes in survival. Not two. Fight, flight … and freeze.
