Wow thanks so much Harold! You definitely don’t have to do that! I’ll be honest I don’t drink but every cent that comes from TH-cam will go back into this truck so just know you’ve directly contributed to helping get this old girl back on the road👌🏻thanks again mate your a legend
Coming along nicely. Fun with the hydraulic type fittings. I just replaced the fuel inlet and outs on the VT903 K125, a mix of -8 and -10. Kenworth/Peterbilt originally specced their trucks with Dynacraft hose fittings and hoses throughout the chassis. Dynacraft being owned by PACCAR.
Good to hear from you mate! I checked out your channel and watch the videos you put up on your trucks👌🏻 thanks for that info I was wondering what the original hose was that was used on them!
Hey mate it sure was abit of work but I’m glad I did it, puts a smile ear to ear that’s for sure, as always thanks for watching the driving video will be a good one!
Hello there jake. I think your having a good go at the old kenworth The 70's kenworth 900-923-925's are some of the coolest trucks ever built i really enjoy your videos i have a few kenworths of my own to work on and get going thanks for the motivation and inspiration Cheers from Bismarck North Dakota USA
Hey mate thanks for watching I’m glad you enjoy the videos! I really love them they are my favourite truck and everyone I see one in a sad state I feel the need to save it! Cheers
Awesome thanks for watching mate! Won’t be long now…. I need a few more American viewers so good to have you here share it around as much as you like👌🏻
Brilliant video mate! Really Interesting to see those reusable fuel fittings, I’m just used to plastic pipe and good old nut and olives over here, the modern trucks are using those horrible plastic Voss connectors now that break when you look at them🤣 I did chuckle with the rear engine mounts being back to front, I did the same thing on a Volvo once, took me a good 10minutes to realise what I’d done🙈🤣 Awesome video and can’t wait for the first start up next week! Keep up the good work!🤙🏻 hope you had a great time at Geelong! The photos look brilliant😎🚚🚛🚚🚜
Thanks mate, yes I really like the reusable hose and fittings it’s super easy to deal with I thought about changing to plastic for the air lines but these have lasted 50 years so that’s good enough for my lifetime! Oh yeah those boss air fittings I’m not a fan! Yeah it took me a couple of try’s to realise what was going on I must have mixed the mounts up when I took them outside to wash them! Thanks for watching mate I’ll have the first start video up soon!
G,day Jake, wow you've been a very busy young fella, outstanding workmanship and attention to detail, your work with making and rebuilding hoses throughout both engine assioated and chassis , this truck should be leak free, trustworthy reliable to do work or play on a daily basis, wish I could of seen it at the show mate ,, I just I was working. Jake Was thinking about your radiator and induction pipe work ,, they would look sick done in polished stainless steel, and I,m absolutely sure your talent can create this from scrap or second hand stainless from old ag farm water lines etc, water tanker bodies etc, great video and I don't care if you show us how you do the hoses , we learn from this mate , well I do and I appreciate you as a teacher at same time😂
Thanks mate, sure have been! There’s a few more hoses to go on the engine and then I have to start on the airlines they are made out of the same hose and they are all extremely brittle and rusted so that’s one of the next jobs on the list! That’s the plan I’ll tig weld all the pipes and polish them up I’m just deciding weather to use aluminium or stainless and I have to buy a bead roller to put the lip on the pipes aswell! I’m glad your still enjoying it and learning somthing as I go
Hey mate no it’s not, this orange rubber semicircle bushes sit at the back and at the front cradle it’s rubber lined and bolted together I believe that’s how most if not all Detroits came mounted in kenworths
Looking good. I'm wondering on those fittings if one is a JIC, and the other is an Aeroqip. That might explain the issue with the hose. The Aeroquip may be sized for a rubber hose as opposed to one with that wrap on the outside. Just guessing,
I thought that too but the original hose that came out of these fittings was covered in the cloth fabric stuff aswell it had just deteriorated off most of it! So not really sure I know there’s different brands of it so maybe I just don’t have the right brand, but it still seems to work so I’ll stick with it I think
So the Mid-American Trucking Show here in USA is the last weekend in March kicks off the truck show season here in USA. You gonna have her ready to show by then??? 😊😊😊😊. (I’m being a smartass here). 😃😃😃😃
I’d love to go to MATS I’m going to do a trip over there when the funds allow it, I’d love to build an Australian styled truck there just to throw in amongst all the big drop visors and bumpers! Maybe one day👌🏻 if someone sponsees me and the truck to ship me and it out there I’d work day and night to have it done😂
$15 each! What a rip off! Anyway, good work again. In fact, I liked the red so much on the rails I bought some similar for a tractor I'm doing in the UK 👍
Tell me about it, everything is so expensive these days makes it hard to use new stuff! Awesome to hear I’m glad you like it, that tractor will look excellent👌🏻
That’s pretty cool I don’t know a great deal about hydrogen but I’m not quite convinced electric is the way to go for trucks just yet so I think other options are well worth exploring, i myself will always be a diesel powered supporter as I think many other people will be, the price of fuel will be what kills it in the end I think whenever that may be
Don’t remind me😢 kills me putting un painted bits on but I’ll pull them back off and paint them up properly I was just super keen to get it ready for the show
Thanks!

I’ll give you the hint they are pretty awesome😉

Huge amount of work done in this one Jake well done hope you make the Geelong show .
It sure was I was pretty tired after this week was over, but yes I made it there so couldn’t be happier!
A good trailer for you is the trailers they have in USA with a hock that stays on truck and front part of trailer sits on ground no ramps
I’d love an rgn but there are hardly any of them here they never took off for some reason
looks great !!
Saw your trucks in photo on Facebook at Geelong show you did not muck around hope it goes good for you
