Coros Pace 3 vs Garmin Forerunner 945 LTE: WHY Pay MORE?

The Coros Pace 3 is an amazing value multisport watch coming in at $230USD. In almost every way it's comparable (if not better) than my current running watch, the Garmin Forerunner 945 LTE.. the catch is that the Forerunner 945 LTE is THREE TIMES more expensive. What's the point of that? Today lets compare these two very capable sport watches.

I bought the Pace 3. I’m liking it but I’m going to return and the the Apex 2 Pro. Simply because it’s more robust with sapphire glass.

945 is two generations old. Next you should test the 965 against Coros Pace 1

This is the 945 LTE (released in 2021) which was released 2 years after the original 945 (2019). Slightly different feature set.

Same reason I got it so I could broadcast my runs via text message and anybody I want will know where I am at any given moment. Also it comes in handy when you’re racing and gives them mile updates if they don’t want to click on a live map.

How do you think the Garmin 255 compares to the pace 3?

I haven't personally tried the 255, but based on what I've read and seen from others I'd say they're fairly similar

Better then the FR 955?

It all depends on what you're looking for! If you want more advanced features (health tracking, etc) then the FR 955 would be better. IF you want a solid watch for tracking activities, getting HR, etc, then Pace 3 will do the trick :)

@@BrendonCamm Any idea if the Pace 3 is suitable for a triathlon (sprint, olympic or half) and how well the triathlon mode works (does it include all the necessary data you would expect)?
