      His videos are good, but a sample size of one is a really huge issue for being able to determine the accuracy of the watches he reviews. Differences in wrist diameter, skin colour, body fat, body hair, and other factors mean that the accuracy he gets may not be what someone else can expect.
      Answering these kinds of questions are what good science does.

    I'd love to see you do a big body composition scale review/comparison. I _know_ they aren't "accurate" per-say, but I'm sure some of them are more reliable and consistent than others. Having one would still be a lot better than forgoing tracking body comp metrics entirely. A lot of us simply aren't going to go get tested regularly for body composition. I'd trust your opinion on a reliable one at least.

      I've been desperate for this kind of info as well, but I feel like there'd be a large corpus of data you'd need to ingest and I don't think Rob's bodyfat is high enough to be difficult to measure.
      The sad truth is we just need to assume all of the BEI scales are shit.

    For a GPS score, I would recommend maybe one or two routes that you know you can run/bike exactly, and pull the data from the watch and write a python script to calculate the error between each reading and the "known point". Or perhaps you can use machine learning to calculate the alignment (or overlap, or the total area of the gap) between the known route and the watch data. I have a ton more terrible ideas where these came from - I appreciate what you do!

Im a beginner when it comes to Running and im just starting the accuarcy of this watch is more then enough for a beginner and even for *pros* this should give them a good sense of what is going on. A lot of people are hating on lower price watches but most of the people buying them are just doing sports for fun and simple health benefits not everyone wants or needs data exact at 0,0000007. Im really excited to try out this watch i already tried the huawei gt3 pro and back then i had an huawei gt 2 , fitbit ... amzfit ... so i guess its gonna be more than amazin for my purpose

    It can measure blood pressure 😮

    • @alexvikendi1768
      @alexvikendi1768 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's honestly a gadget, you mesure blood pressure not in real time (except with putting a needle directly in an artery 😅) , usually twice in the same position. A reliable blood pressure machine is 20$. An omron one for consumers only 40$ and last a nearly a life time. Worth the investement. High BP can be dangerous, at rest. Cheers 🤞

    • @Mau365PP
      @Mau365PP ปีที่แล้ว

      @alexvikendi1768 yeah, but the advantage is the "carry anywhere" feature the watch provides.
      Those who track their blood pressure constantly know the pain in the ass that it is to carry the omron everywhere. It is quite uncomfortable.
      So having it available in such light weight can be very beneficial

    • @PavaoBadurina
      @PavaoBadurina ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Mau365PP even if it has blood pressure that doesn't mean it's reliable. Even wrist blood pressure are allowed to be 10+- . But In my opinion I would get the wrist one if you want that feature on the watch it will for sure be unreliable.

    Nice job! I hope you can help me with an interest question, and I believe there are not much solid information about it around tbe internet.
    There is any problem using fitness trackers/smartwatches/smartbands on the inner side of your wrist (palm side)? I mean, how bad is it (if bad at all) to the accuracy of the device?
    Do you have a word on this issue? Maybe you can consider doing a video testing it, would be great!

  • @cwtjones
    @cwtjones 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I test run 400 meters track with Pace 3, on standard run mode, standard GPS mode,.
    The first 400 meters was quite accurate, then it get a bit inaccurate from there. Some lap reported 410 meters, some 420 meters. I end up with 5.2km, for 12.5 loops which is supposed to be 5km. I will test again with track run mode.
    My 7 years old Epson SF810, give me very accurate and consistence distance of 398 to 402 meters. It does not have track run mode, just plain run. This old watch is accurate to 0.001km.
    I am guessing this is the reason Coros Pace 3 is giving a significant higher distance reading since it is accurate to 2 decimal point, and round up to ceiling.

  • @luigir.5611
    @luigir.5611 ปีที่แล้ว

    The good thing is that I can connect a Polar or Coros arm strap to the watch and will get better HR recording by weight lifting. I think its a small thing you should add to your tests, as I would in general not use the watch, but a strap, and if I can connect it to the app of the provider or the watch itself it will get much better results in weight lifting.

    Will you be reviewing the huawei watch gt 3 se?

    This looks tempting, but I think I will wait and see if the new Pixel watch releases and if it is better than the Venu 2. I would wait for a Venu 3, but 450 is a bit much for me lol.

    What would you recommend between a coros pace 3 or a garmin around the same price ? Like the 255 or the 165
    Or any other watch around 250€ ?

    I wonder how these compete against garmin 255? Same price.
