I’m genuinely worried about my symptoms but I live in a world where healthy men aren’t helped. I’ve given up going to the doctors or hospitals. TH-cam is my safe place for clinical info and remedy suggestions. Thank you.
Sometimes you gotta take matters into your own hands. Sounds like that's where you're at with this. Fortunately there are a lot of good resources available. Wish you the best brother!
Short and sweet is how I like my videos! Glad it was helpful. Sugar is way worse than most people realize, try to minimize it and you’ll feel better in a lot of ways.

Want a cure for neuropathy - quit eating sugary foods for 30 - 60 days and see what happens - it worked for me and it could work for you. I cut out all pies, ice cream, doughnuts, Little Debbies etc... I did this cuz my A1C test reveal I had pre-diabetes. at around 60 days into this sugar free diet(well almost sugar free) and my neuropathy pains went away by 90%. Plus I lost 8 pounds and I feel better and I sleep better and it didn't cost me a dime - it actually saved me money - and the pains are almost totally gone. Thank God. Try it and see.
I have diabetic neuropathy and I started taking Cool Cayenne supplements from Solaray and it has helped my condition considerably. I still have a little discomfort occasionally, but the frequency of it has dropped dramatically.
I had to stop eating fast food and drinking so many sodas because of neuropathy. I switched to foods that are high in protein like Salmon, grapes, bananas, and peanut butter. I also soak my feet in warm water everyday, take vitamin B12. That has helped with neuropathy alot.
grapes and bananas are super loaded with sugar. While they do have some nutrients, it might be better for you to find alternate sources for those nutrients.
One point on ALA,, alpha lipoic acid is a cautionary note, if an individual has hypothyroidism and being compensated with Levothyroxine,, ALA may lower the of thyroid hormone,, thus, blood hormone levels, and thyroid function tests should be monitored closely to maintain a proper balance.
@@timk4502 I also just discovered recently that if you take a Biotin supplement it can give you an improved but inaccurate reading of your T3 and T4 readings on your thyroid blood test. It needs to be discontinued for a week before your thyroid blood test for a more accurate result. You can resume the Biotin supplement after your blood tests.
It really works! In early 2021 I had Covid very badly. I was in an induced coma for 12 days, then in ICU for another two weeks. When I woke up I couldn't even stand. My thighs were numb and have remained so. GP and neurologist couldn't offer me any solutions. It was like that all this time, until I started taking alpha lipoic acid. I couldn't even walk around the block without discomfort a couple of weeks ago, but today I took my neighbour's dog on a one-hour walk, partially over pretty rough ground, and I had no aching, no tiredness in my legs.
I found a supplement online that had alpa lipoic acid, Acetyl L-cartimine, Benfiotiamine, B12, D3, and B6 after my diabetic neuropathy started to really be painful and aggravating. 4 months into taking this supplement twice a day, I can say my feet are 95% back to normal. NO PAIN, occasionally some slight tingling at night, sometimes nothing. It only took about 3 weeks b4 i starting noticing a positive change
Thanks for info contained in this video. Alpha, lipoic acid comes in to forms: R-Alpha lipoic acid (Which is naturally formed, and stored in fat cells) There’s also S- Alpha lipoic acid (Which is synthetically created, and is water based) Only use the R-Alpha, lipoic acid. It must state in the ingredients R-Alpha lipoic acid. If you’d like to learn more about Alpha lipoic acid you can look up the nerve doctors on TH-cam explaining everything you need to know about alpha lipoic acid, so that you are fully informed and can choose to purchase this effective supplement. Best wishes!
Somewhat propagandaish perhaps the r form is better but s form can still work. Has for me for example. Nerve Doctors imo are salesmen first and impartial experts second
I would advise you to be cautious folliwing evruthing The Nerve Doctors tell you as Gospel. I have watched their videos and they are very shady salesmen.
I've been suffering with Neuropathy for years, I went to the doctor and they had me get a nerve test done shocking my nerves which honestly was more painful than the Neuropathy and the doctors bedside manner just angered me after since I cried and he told me I was too sensitive. I still suffer today, have been ruled out for Diabetes,my health has been pretty good. My Father does suffer from Neuropathy so I figured it's hereditary. It has progressed for me,limited walking and foot pain, bad rainy weather makes it hurt more. I've been muttling through by icing my feet.
I got mild symptoms after the birth of my fourth child, 36 years ago, the nervous system uses large amounts of ALL vitamin B and I have been taking a bio available Activated B Complex formula by Herbs of Gold and it keeps my symptoms in check, these vitamins also helped with my heart arrhythmia, but only the activated Vitamins work, the regular formula from supermarkets does not cure this problem.Hope this helps you and follow Dr Berg he gives great advice on TH-cam
Actually I use Ice but even with the ice it's becoming a challenge, some days I can't walk because of the pain and inflammation and bad weather makes it worse.

Try massaging in castor oil (add a couple of drops of frankincense oil to it in your hand and mix.) Then rub on your feet. Read about castor oil - it relieves pain, has many benefits, and also carries things into the body (ie the painkilling frankincense). Also lack of magnesium can cause foot pain (cramps). Spray on magnesium oil and rub in. Epsom salts foot bath. Also try a multi magnesium supplement (5 kinds of magnesium in 1 tablet) as there are 5 kinds of magnesium and not all help. I'm not a doctor, but I researched online, and these things helped me. I also gave up sugar and wheat, and eat dark greens daily. And play padel (like pickle ball!) Good luck!

One more reason not to trust doctors, I hate to say! I'm afraid they'll just say I have diabetes or high cholesterol and put me on drugs without finding the real problem and I'll be made worse. I also wonder if covid caused this or many tick bites?
Have you had any back issues or sciatica? I did 3 years ago and I occasionally have the tingly feeling in feet and heels. Did some research and it can be from that. I noticed it's the way I sit in the morning. Anyway it comes and goes.

And what can be done in this case...if any suggestions ?
@@lisalee2885hi, suddenly one day my tailbone started paining and I could not sit for a month, but later my legs are getting tingling sensations, and I cannt bear the pain if I have to stand on a place more than 10 mins.
I heard about alpha lipoic acid in the early spring. Ive been taking about 800 mg a day. My burning pain and fuzzy sensations have been reduced about 80%. I can sleep at night because my foot is not throbbing. I also have noticed my sciactic pain is a lot better. My job has concrete floors and with inventory time here, i can walk around without feeling i want to cut my leg off!
Three years ago I had a severe complication due to diabetes type2. The pain was so excruciating that I thought I could have lost my left leg. After discovering the Alpha Lipoic Acid, I gave it a try. The pain was reduced 40 percent after one month and about 75 percent after about 3 months. After about a year, the pain was 95 percent gone. Now after a couple of years, I don't have pain at all on my left leg but still feel numb a bit on the left foot. I attribute this as miracle. I told my friend of my story. He tried it out without telling me and I didn't know what problems he had. He just told me how the Alpha Lipoic Acid helped him gain sensation on his skin near the elbows, the arms after starting trying this supplement about 5 months. No doubt about it, I told him, that I'm the living witness that have told you what happened to me and now it helped you too and I advised him to tell everyone he knows whom would have diabetes complications to take Alpha Lipoic Acid to prevent damage to the nerves before it happens.
I’ve suffered in my feet for years and got partial relief from duloxetine. About a year ago I started wearing zero-drop, wide toe box minimalist footwear and also toe separators. Also started doing foot exercises to strengthen and make feet more flexible. Been a great relief. I can sleep at night now.
That’s awesome! Thanks so much for sharing! I love minimalist footwear and the benefits of building strength in the feet. Unfortunately modern day shoes have become like foot coffins. They’re too tight and restrictive and out the muscles in our feet to sleep. Way to put in the work and get your feet better! 🙏🏻

I had tiny neuropathy in my toes, numbness and tingling. After some reading, I took sublingual B-12. Tingling stopped the next morning, has never returned. Numbness remained. Couple years later I was given Cipro (Ciprofloxacin) for a possible gram negative bacteria by my dentist. Three weeks later, I had bluish black diabetic feet up to my ankles. I am not even pre-diabetic (HA1c test results of 5.8 & 5.6) Beware of Cipro. Now has five FDA required black box warnings (may cause cancer warning on cigarette boxes). Can cause ruptured Achilles tendons, other tendons, ruptured aorta, peripheral neuropathy, essential tremors, and many autonomic nerve symptoms,
Make sure to take pure alpha lipoic acid and not the one that contains s-lipoic acid. The s stands for synthetic which will do nothing. It's just a filler. The pure Ala is more expensive of course but sure works better .

Alpha lipoic acid does help, it did help me although I am not diabetic, but please be careful and don't take too much, I took a high dose to start with 1000mg, but after a while I found that my hair started to come out quite a lot, being a woman in her sixties I put it down to my age, but on researching ALA I discovered that one of its side effects can be hair loss, so my advice would be to start on a smaller dose than I did, 😫😫🖐
I'm a man in my sixties and take more than 4 times that dose daily and have nothing but good results to speak of. I've seen no research on ALA that mentions anything about losing hair. I've been taking ALA for over 10 years now (started with 600mg/day) and my doctor is fine with my current dosage. It's hard to find any evidence that high doses are harmful in any way. Though it will upset your stomach if you try to take 2 or 3 of the 600mg capsules all at once on an empty stomach. Just for the record, I take 7 of those capsules per day. But definitely only take what you need. I'm well over 10 years into my neuropathy adventure, and this is not a condition that is going to improve over time. So my dose has increased over time. Good luck with your adventure.
@@marksmitchell I guess we are all individuals and react differently in each case, I was getting good results with this dose and didn't want to reduce it, so I started taking biotin to counteract the hair loss ( I found the research on Google where some other people have reported similar side effects ) and there has been a big improvement without having to lower my dose of ALA.
@@sandi5276 have'nt noticed more hair anywhere else, it's more a case of the falling hair stopping rather than much more hair growing, although my head hair does feel a bit thicker than before, but whatever the ALA does help with joint pain and tingling in hands and feet, good luck .

Make sure you buy the real one, R Alpha Lipoic Acid. The other two are scams, the S and RS Alpha Lipoic Acid. They are much cheaper and don’t work as the natural one.
Nervive has alpha lipoic acid, plus other beneficial vitamins and minerals. What really helps is staying away from refined sugars and carbs, as well as exercising, keeping active, and not being overweight.
When I was in chemo I developed neuropathy pretty badly, not just in my hand and feet, but along my entire trunk. Especially where the tumor removal scar was (breast bone to pubic bone). I was already taking alpha-lipoic to help protect my liver from the chemo. It helped a little bit, but the thing that helped me most was actually glutamine. It did more good than anything else. If I missed taking it for more than 3 days, the neuropathy would flare up big time. After two days of the glutamine, it would begin fading away again. I'm long since done with chemo, but I still occasionally get flare-ups of the neuropathy & I always will. So I keep glutamine on hand for that. It's going to live in my medicine chest right next to the aspirin for the rest of my life.
I read about glutamine awhile back and it was said to be worse than sugar for cancer. Cancer loves it they said. Right after I bought a few bottles. Supposed to be good for bodybuilding so I got it. I just ordered some vitamin B 1 that's supposed to help with diabetes and neuropathy from what different podcast were saying. I just tried eating bitter melon as it's also supposed to help. Ceylon cinnamon and extra virgin olive oil slow down carb digestion decreasing spikes to keep blood sugar under control helping to reduce cramps and neuropathy. You can also eat sauerkraut as glutamine is made from it I believe. At any rate it's good for stomach bacteria. Some on carnivore diet say it helps get rid of cancer by eliminating inflammation and helps with many other diseases as well. Some foods said to be healthy for us are very inflammatory and cause joint pain and other problems. Check it out. Lots of information on it. Carbs cause a lot of health problems, diabetes, heart, kidney, pancreas , thyroid, and other problems. Once you get diabetes your other organs want to gang stomp you to death. I cut out most of my carbs and my foot, ankle and calf swelling has almost completely gone away as well as my cramps that made me get out of bed usually more than once a night to walk it off. Getting more sleep now and that's been a problem for many years now. Lack of sleep leads to all kinds of killer health problems. Good old carbs will do you in.
Friend, also take milk thistle it healed 3 of my friends from liver complications one of them chronic Hepatitis B it was eliminated which is not known to scientifically happen but it did as well as cirrhosis of the liver from alcoholism and from overmedication with two other friends. Please get some milk thistle to help with the liver it's a miracle that duplicate the cells of the liver
I have had fibromyalgia which started in 1981. I have painful neuropathy from it in my arms and legs. A year ago, my doctor found that I had a significant B-12 deficiency. I get monthly shots for it now. There has been some improvement, but not a significant amount. I should try this!
R-ALA is very good for neuropathy, however Benfotiamine is also excellent as it is a fat-soluble form of Vitamin B1 (Thiamine). I also add cayenne pepper to enhance blood flow.
@@cleavisnowell1240 Actually, that's reversed. The R-ALA is the 'real' stuff, while the S-ALA is synthetic. If you buy ALA with both, the synthetic counteracts the effects of the real. R-ALA is the only way to go; it is MORE expensive (again, reversed) than the S-ALA, but the S-ALA is junk.
I was recently started on Cymbalta. It has given me much relief. My feet are still pretty much numb but my ankles which ached and gave sharp pains have given me great pain is reduced to a dull ache. Side effects are drowsiness. But I can live with that I am retired and can nap when I feel like it.
Cymbalta only treats the symptoms and stay away from gabapentin as well. Watch videos about neuropathy on TH-cam from Dr. Berg. Lots of good information which may help you .

I don’t have neuropathy any more.
Your post is useful, but sadly, it's incomplete. I have had Type-2 diabetes for the last 30 years and am now focusing on managing my diet and supplements due to facing neuropathy problems. Alpha-lipoic acid (ALA) is great stuff, but many supplements are fake and expensive. I suggest users do a small amount of research and think before purchasing anything. ALA is found naturally in a variety of foods, particularly in organ meats such as liver, heart, and kidney. However, for those looking for plant-based sources of ALA, there are several options (I suggest eating raw rather than cooked) : Spinach: Spinach is a good source of ALA, along with other nutrients such as iron and vitamin K.Broccoli: Broccoli is another vegetable that contains ALA, as well as being rich in fiber, vitamins, and minerals.Brussels sprouts: Brussels sprouts are a cruciferous vegetable that provides ALA, along with antioxidants and fiber.Tomatoes: Tomatoes contain ALA, especially when they are cooked or processed into products like tomato paste or sauce. Peas: Peas are a legume that contains ALA, along with protein, fiber, and various vitamins and minerals.Potatoes: Potatoes, particularly the skin, contain ALA, along with other nutrients such as potassium and vitamin C. Animal sources of alpha-lipoic acid (ALA) include: Organ meats: Liver, heart, and kidney are particularly rich sources of ALA.Red meat: Beef, lamb, and pork contain ALA, though in smaller amounts compared to organ meats.Fish: Certain types of fish, such as salmon and trout, contain ALA, along with other beneficial nutrients like omega-3 fatty acids.Chicken: Chicken meat contains ALA, though typically in lower amounts compared to organ meats and fish.Eggs: Both the yolk and the white of eggs contain ALA, making eggs a source of this nutrient.Dairy products: Milk, cheese, and yogurt contain ALA, though the amounts may be relatively small compared to other sources. When comparing the effectiveness of different forms of alpha-lipoic acid (ALA), it's essential to understand their differences: R-ALA (R-alpha-lipoic acid): This is the natural form of alpha-lipoic acid found in the human body. Some research suggests that R-ALA may have higher biological activity compared to the synthetic form (S-ALA). R-ALA is often considered more effective due to its similarity to the ALA produced by the body. S-ALA (S-alpha-lipoic acid): This is the synthetic form of alpha-lipoic acid. While it is biologically active, it is generally considered less effective than R-ALA. Mixed ALA: Some ALA supplements contain a mixture of both R-ALA and S-ALA. This combination may offer benefits by providing a broader spectrum of activity, but the effectiveness of mixed ALA compared to R-ALA alone is still debated. Na-R-ALA (Sodium R-alpha-lipoic acid): This is a stabilized form of R-ALA, where the compound is chemically stabilized with sodium to enhance its bioavailability. Na-R-ALA is designed to improve absorption in the body and may offer advantages in terms of convenience and effectiveness compared to unmodified R-ALA. In general, R-ALA is often considered the most effective form of ALA due to its natural status and potential for higher biological activity. Na-R-ALA may also offer benefits in terms of absorption and convenience. However, the specific effectiveness of ALA supplements can vary depending on individual factors such as dosage, formulation, and health condition. It's essential to consult with a healthcare professional for personalized advice on choosing the most suitable ALA supplement.
Weather this is accurate is no matter for some at the beginning of my health journey my system was broken and could not draw out enough of the nutrients I critically needed there was no way I could have eaten enough of these foods you suggested this type of information is probably not for people like you and thats why you don't understand
Nutricost carries USP certified ALA. It's very inexpensive. That being said if you're on a blood thinner ALA will work against the anticoagulant efficacy and thin the blood even more. Always check with your physician or at least one of the medication interaction sites.
I'll give this a try. However, I've had progressive peripheral neuropathy for almost 20 years now (as did my father). I'd like to mention to any sufferers who are reading these comments that I obtained relief in 2 weeks from the associated shooting pains by taking CBD (a cannabis derivative) with no perceptible side effects and have been taking it now for something like 5 years.

I have peripheral Neuropathy up to my waist, I don't have diabetes, i have been tested and even though it started after a back surgery, the doctors tell me that it isn't caused by my back problems.
I had surgery in 2009 and had a cage put around c4 c5 c6 of my spine and developed referred pain around my rib cage after surgery which I have almost all the time in varying degrees . I have ehlors danlos syndrome and apparently that makes getting a referred problem more likely but this does sound like what’s happened to you ???
Try walking barefoot for about 30 minutes ...while it is uncomfortable in yhe beginning it gets better and the pain and tingling is reduced significantly. Of its too painful walking barefoot ..walking for about an hour too helps with the pain
Massage with virgin olive oil can be helpful as well, it takes a long time to see results. Wash your feet before using the olive oil, dry and apply the oil. This is to be done every day, am or pm.
Thank you so much for responding, Jeff. Your info makes a lot of sense. I did work for some naturopaths some time back and learnt a lot from them, and that GPs usually seem to work in the 'bandaid' way; they don't try to get to the bottom of what is not right in the body that causes all these things. I live in the country so am limited in my health services, but would love to find a Functional Doctor as they are trained in both GP type medicine and also a more holistic way of working. As I also have inflammatory bowel disease I am very careful about what I take, and have sensitivity to a lot of products, even skin and hair products. The other issue is my MTHFR which means my mitochondrial function is not great and therefore my uptake of certain things, B12 and the processing of folic acid is inhibited, plus a lot of other effects, so absorption is a problem, so I tend to get my vitamins in an oil base. I will try your recommendations, but will take it a few steps at a time. I have an autoimmune leukaemia so I don't like to shock my system. I am on an immunosuppressant as well, I have to be careful. I have taken Gabapentin in the past and it saved me. For some reason I ended up with pain throughout my whole body, to the point where I couldn't turn over in bed, or tie up my hair, without help. It was so painful, and my daughter thought she would have to put me in a home if it didn't go away. Tried lots of pain killers, even morphine patches, all did nothing, but then my doctor said to try one more thing, Gabapentin, and it worked wonders. Within a couple of days I felt better. Be aware though, you do need to be careful with it as it comes with side effects, and hence I have not gone back on it. Sometimes when there are so many things going on you don't know which is the chicken and which is the egg, as our bodies are not all separate bits, they all depend on each other, so it's hard to tell which to treat, especially with medications. I'll go slowly. I know I have to improve my gut bacteria, due to my whole life of gut issues, so plan Number one, not easy but I don't think much else is going to help unless I get this sorted out a bit. I am hesitant about the carnivore diet as from everything I have read and watched, to have good gut bacteria you need fibre, fibre, fibre, and without vegetables and some fruits, how do you build that. Anyway, as I said, one step at a time, but it was great getting everybody's inputs, very interesting.
Hi Jen, Jeff here again. I just put in an order for vitamin B 1 off of Amazon. I've been reading up on it and a lot of people say it helps with diabetes problems having to do with the nerves so I'm going to give it a try. I haven't had much of a problem for awhile now but it can't hurt to take a 100 mg tablet every day. I could take more but more doesn't always help and if it helps that's good. If not can take more. Check out some videos on it. You might also try bitter melon. It's been used in Asian countries for a long time as a treatment for diabetes. I just tried some today and the taste leaves much to be desired but I mixed it with other foods to mask most of the taste. Check that out also. It's said to be a very healthy food. I started using virgin olive oil on many of my foods as it slows down the processing of carbs so they don't spike and is good for you anyway. I also learned about cinnamon being good for slowing down carb spikes. Ceylon cinnamon is good, but stay away from Saigon cinnamon as it's said not t be real cinnamon and can be toxic if you use too much. I got mine off of Amazon for a lower price and most stores carry Saigon.
I tried Alpha Lipoic Acid, but unfortunately it didn’t help with my neuropathy. Maybe because I’m not diabetic? But I did feel some improvement with Benfotiamine, which, according to Wikipedia, is a “derivative of thiamine (vitamin B1) that is approved in some countries as a medication or dietary supplement to treat diabetic sensorimotor polyneuropathy.”
Take both alpha lipoic acid and benfotiamine together. Make sure your alpha lipoic acid does not contain any synthetic lipoic acid in it. It will have an s on the label such as 300 s-lipoic acid . S stands for synthetic which is a filler and does nothing. I take 600 of r-alpha lipoic acid and it makes a big difference but cost alot more than any brands that have s included in the mix.
I am prediabetic, peripheral neuropathy started last April'2022 and my doctor prescibed Neurobion Vitamin B Complex. Symptoms like pins and needles, burning, itching 75% improvement. Doc, can i still add Alpha Lipoic Acid as my additional supplement 600mg daily. Nutricost brand is not available in our country, can you please recommend any other brand. Very much appreciated if you could reply....thank you!

I have fybromialga which comes with nerve pain and neuropathy and have been using ALA for about a year, honestly a noticeable improvement, have got a diabetic friend using for his neuropathy and only two months in has noticed an improvement, definitely worth a try
@@lararose9106 No. All of the B Vitamins help. Niacin will make your skin crawl but it will go away in time. Also, the article I came across recommended 600 mg of Alfa Lipoic R. It said that regular Alfa Lipoic and I think it was Alfa Lipoic S don’t work at all. Also anything that will build up the Oxygen in your Blood, even Vegetables like Beets and juices like Pomegranate or Goji juice that have a high Orac Rating help. I had Carpal Tunnel for years until I started drinking Goji Juice and after 3 months it was gone. That was about 14 years ago and I still don’t have a problem with Carpal Tunnel. There are other things out there that help with certain health problems but I’ll leave it out for now.
Thank you doctor, a few questions for you please, with Alpha Lipoic Acid is there any problem because I Suffer from kidney deficiency. How many serving 100 mg capsule a day should we take?
I was recently diagnosed w/severe case of neuropathy in my buttocks, legs & feet. The doctor who did the testing of my nerves said it was caused by a previous back surgery. Probably at least one nerve was accidentally cut if not more. Is there any help for this type of neuropathy since I don't have diabetes? The doctor suggested I get a motorized wheelchair but I'd rather be up walking. I use a walker right now w/horrible pain.
I have just read your message. I would suggest acupuncture to help calm the pain. There is also a laser type treatment for pain relief available from some private physiotherapists and other similar therapists. I would strongly suggest those two options first and search online to find them. Don't give up. 👍
dont ask for anyone will this effect for you or not you just try it. Take alpha lipoic acid,Benfotaimine, vit b12,omega,coq10 what are the thing available in the market to regenerate your nerve nerve can heal and regenerate all the best
I will try this. I am not diabetic but have the neuropathy, plus arthritis. At 80 it is hard to walk and I use a cane because my balance is not what it used to be….
I was told by Dr I did not have diabetes I had a bad nerve and I was to small I am going on 70in Jan I been having this problem since I was 63ill try this👍😻😻😻😻
Have you ever heard about side effect of ALA such as problem with breathing? When I was taking ALA a time ago I had a strange feeling like I had to remember to breath! We breath automatically but in that time I had to remember to breath and it was very frustrating. Any comments on that problem?
Good point! Stress wears us down and tends to make most health issues worse. Good sleep and some deep slow breathing can go a long way towards helping the body de-stress!
I have had severe chemo-induced neuropathy since treatment ended in July 2012. Have been taking ALA since then at my neurologist's recommendation. I now take 1200 units a day. It has changed nothing whatsoever. Why do I continue? I guess I still have hope. 😔
I am amazed when they say please consult your Dr. when they would not have a clue. My father in law was one, I am 75, so he would be over 100 now, but 50 years ago and even when he passed ( he was 85) I always did the Natural way, he could not understand why.
I have had the same experience; docs just not even interested in what supplements I take or ask about. I volunteer to add them to my medication list. No interest. And what is more surprising to me is that there seems to be no interest in looking over the med list of prescribed medications. They do write this list down, but if I have any questions about, say, dosages, possible interactions, or long-term usage effects, they have nothing to say.

reading other sites and video's, there are warnings for thyroid med users to not take ALA , or people with diabetic meds? what have you found in your treatments and is there a alternative for these people. Thank you for sharing.
I've been taking ALA for over a year and maybe it's helped a little. What has really helped is going mostly carnivore the last few months. I was already looking lean enough but wanted to get a little more of a ripped look and was reading about just how bad carbs are on blood sugar as mine was a little on the high side. My left foot, ankle and calf started swelling over a short period of time , and my skin was always itchy, had foamy urine for a few years but was getting more so and my right foot would go weird on me after walking about a mile. I also have irregular heart beat and bad valve so blood flow isn't perfect. I started taking L Arginine, L Citrulline, Magnesium, and other blood flow supplements that seemed to help a little. I know they helped because I was getting a morning stiffy more often. Then a few months ago I cut out about 90 percent of carbs and had mostly meat and some steamed vegetables. I dropped weight quickly and had to eat a few more carbs to level off the additional loss as I believe we need a small fat reserve to stay healthy and if something happened and I couldn't eat for a few days or very little for a few weeks , I wouldn't fall over from lack of food. I now have about 80 percent fewer carbs. My swelling and itching are almost completely gone, my right foot hardly is a problem, my breathing is better, and I have far less gas, it and poop don't smell as bad, and poop is better, firmer so hardly have to wipe. The days I eat vegetables or maybe some pasta or beans it changes to bloated, gas, softer, smellier doo doo again so I mainly stick to a little milk, bananas, blue berries, cherries in my smoothies as they don't bother me. If you want to improve I suggest getting rid of all wheat, oats, rice and other carbs that are grains. I've also noticed my elbow pain is gone and I don't have to warm up with lighter weights as much when working out. Lower back is better also. Cordyceps is a big help with inflammation. Check out videos on carnivore and it's benefits. It's helped a lot of people feel better. One last thing my toe, foot , and leg cramps have almost entirely disappeared. Now I don't have to get out of bed and walk it off which was really screwing my sleep the last few years. Sometimes it was several times a night. Magnesium and other stuff didn't work. Carnivore. Getting rid of carbs did. Almost nothing now so more rest and not pissed off every night when I can't get back to sleep at 2 in the morning, get up go into the garage for a couple hours then back to bed and cranp again shortly after laying down. Carnivore works and brings back some sanity into my life.
Hi. Thank you for this info. It all makes sense to me. I have been looking at natural therapies for some time now, but as I have a few differen issues it's hard to find something that works for all, or that doesn't cause another to get worse. I have a rare type of leukaemia, plus heaps of gut issues, bad arthritis, irregular heatbeat, MTHFR, and dreadful itching, which I have been told is part of the leukaemia, but I'm not sure if that's what it is. Every time I look up differnt foods to see which ones would be best to avoid, I find so much conflicting information. Could you send a rough list of what you eat, which vegetables and fruits, how much, and any supplements you take. I know we are all different and what is good for one may not be good for another, but I would like to give this a try and nothing else has made any difference. Looking forward to your reply as I don't quite know where to start without a foundation to work on. Thanks.
@@jenniferjolliffe4269 Hello Jen, I'm 71 and trying to keep strong and healthy. I lift weights 2 or 3 times a week and do some walking when I get the urge. Look better built than most of the young guys so that keeps me going. Mostly I eat a lot of meat and don't worry about the fat because without the fat I was losing to much weight. Beef, pork mainly, some chicken and even tried leg of lamb, tuna fish, sardines to mix it up. Carnivore will make you lose weight because carbs make you fat, give you diabetes, kidney problems, heart problems etc. Most of our modern health problems come from eating grains which in nature we didn't eat in abundance until recent history. They along with many vegetables cause inflammation and can lead to arthritis, inflammation of the heart and all kinds of internal damage. To put it bluntly, the government sponsored food pyramid is killing us. I have a heart valve that's not quite right and noticed irregular beat when I was 20 while lying in my bed. Not bad but gets worse with age. It doesn't pump as good now but not a big problem. Also lymphoma which again many people get as they age. So far not a big problem. I used to eat a lot of carbs to keep my weight up as I have a good metabolism and burned it off. Burning it off wasn't good enough. I still got slightly high blood sugar readings so after watching TH-cam videos on keto and carnivore I ditched about 90 percent of the carbs and only had meat, some fruits like bananas, blueberries, cherries, apples in small amounts, and a little milk. Now it's about 20 percent carbs to steady my weight. I sometimes eat stir-fry vegetables. A lot of my meat is baked in a pan for 2. Or 3 hours, covered with foil to keep it juicy. I use garlic, onions, salt and pepper on top of olive oil. Use what you like but try no sugar products. One by product of low carbs and vegetables is almost no gas and bloating, better poop, less smell. Every time I eat vegetables my stomach swells a little and gas time again. Meat I wake up with a flat stomach no gas. List of what I take. Alpha lipoic acid. Bitter melon extract Co q 10 Cordyceps. Good for inflammation, bad back pain L Arginine. Blood flow for workouts L Citrulline. Blood flow workouts L orinithine L tyrosine Magnesium glycine Pine bark Quercetin Taurine Turmeric Wheatgrass Vitamin d 3 That's most of them. Try what you like but ther are so many good health videos I haven't seen them all. Good luck and if you have luck in a couple months please let me know. And if you know anyone with back pain try Cordyceps. It really helped me and a lot of people I told about it. MRM brand. It's low cost and works for me. Internet you can get it or some places like mothers market. Take on empty stomach a little before breakfast and when starting before bed. Should help in a few days. Continue until feeling better. Natural supplement that's helped almost all who tried it. Bad ciatic nerve pain try acupuncture. Good bye. So far the swelling in mostly my left foot, ankle, calf is almost completely gone, and the body itching is gone as well. I used to get bad toe, foot, ankle , calf, some thigh cramps that got me out of bed to walk it off and stayed with me for several minutes sometimes, multiple times a night. Bummer!!! Nothing helped. Very much until I cut the carbs. Bad sleep causes heart problems, bad circulation, swelling, itching. It's a viscous cycle all because of carbs. High sugar will mess with the kidneys and reduce blood filtering, kidney disease. I suggest watching a lot of videos on carnivore and what health problems it has fixed. Check out Jordan Peterson and how it helped his daughter get over the arthritis that was destroying her body. It's a good story. Others say it's gotten rid of bad allergies etc. The supplements I take are mainly for blood flow and inflammation and support organ function. Here is a list and I know it's long but evaluate and choose whatyou like to try. I get .out of it from. Bulk supplements. Com. They have 500 products at bulk rate prices. They also explain what each product does and have, hopefully real, reviews. The supplements I use treat several things each.
@@jenniferjolliffe4269 HI Jen. Somehow my stuff got out of order an looks weird. Thought I'd add I also started taking potassium tablets to balance out the salt in my diet and drink water even if I'm not thirsty. That helps with cramps also. Most of the supplements are in powder form. Not tablets. I mix them all together in a cup of water and drink it down. Taste bad but it's over with and follow it with pure water to clean the mouth and get rid of the taste. Take it on a empty stomach about half hour before breakfast. I also take zinc, b12, and c tablets. Something else I remembered. Nutri biotic which is a grapefruit seed extract is a natural antibiotic that works great on sinus infections. I use the liquid oil and squirt a little a few times a day into some water, drink it down and then more pure water again. Taste bad. Doesn't wreck the good bacteria in the gut. Don't use if sensitive to grapefruit. In a few days my nose clears up and no more green. . Keep using for an extra week to be sure infection is gone. Use again when needed. Get 2 Oz. For about 15 bucks on line or 4 Oz for about 25. A little goes a long way. Oragino oil mixed with olive oil is good for you and it also helps get rid of bad breath. Pure oregano oil is to strong. Needs to be mixed a few drops into a table spoon of olive oil or buy already mixed and put some in water ,drink and rinse it down. That's it for now.

Thank you for your advice !!! Cheers !!!
I just bought this 3 days ago. I took it one day and keep forgetting to take it with my meals. I will now take it like I should. My burning feet drive me nuts. I have diabetes and fibromyalgia. I am 58. Hey Doctor I bought a 200mg pill it says one TID with meals. Is 600mg a day too much or am I ok?
I'm not a diabetic, nor am I overweight. For a few days, I've been having a lot of pain in the bottom of my right foot. I think this is Morton's neuroma.
Probably not neuropathy as described in this video. Morton’s neuroma is generally in the ball of the foot and causes pins and needles or numbness in the toes.
R-ALA is more effective than ALA alone, which is a combination of R & S- ALA. Further combination with Benfotiamine, methyl cobalamin, other antioxidants help relieve peripheral neuropathy. Accompanied with regular exercises of the ankles and toes can do wonders over a long period.
Sir Thank very very much Doctor. You are Great physician, I' am currently suffering from this at the moment and I dont know what to do Sir, and where could I possibly can buy this supplement? Thank very much for providing such Helpful information. God You Sir. Once again thank You.
It is my understanding that the only alpha lipoic acid that works for neuropathy is R-ALA. There are 3 types. If it doesn't say R-Alpha lipoic acid, it is a synthetic form that is not going to help much, if at all.
It should be Stabilized Na-R-ALA Not just R-Alpha Lipoic Acid And you don't want the s version either it is unstabilized So make sure you get Stabilized Na-R-ALA I'm not quite sure why you would recommend that brand let alone a 100 Mgs, when in order for this to even work, you need to take at least 300 to 600 Mgs
I am a long time sufferer of this awful problem. Yes I am diabetic for many years. lately my A1C has been good. I have been searching for help. I don’t have diabetes and neuropathy probably stems from cervical stenosis myelopathy (vertebrae pressing on spinal cord), causing large fibre polyneuropathy with ataxia. I would like to know if R-ALA might work the same way for me or is it only for diabetics you are recommending this? Thank you!
Not only for diabetics. Why do doctors think that everybody that have nerve issues are diabetics. I am dealing with nerve issues and I'm not a diabetic. My nerve issue came from a cyst in my back between L4 and L5.
Did you operate on the cyst or did it drain?@@verajones887 My daughter has one on her back where she was stopped at a stop light when she was 16, a woman hit her car real hard. It rupted 2 disks. She is now 48 and a Dr wants to do 2 operations on her because it cyst is large and pressing on 2 nerves. She has taken 4 shots of pain killers that is ,messing with her blood sugar and 2 treatments of PT. Nothing is helping. Only ice packs. She has lost 40 pounds. @@Kat1791 the more info, the better. However, I other things to do. But I'm grateful for the good info to better myself.
Also B1 Benfothiamin , B6 , B12 , Acetyl L Carnitine , Omega 3.
Spot on.
Avoid the B6 especially if it's Pyroxidine - been known to actually cause PN.
And copper, Iron, vitamin D. Organ meat contains some of these.
Healthy lifestyle, everyone, not just supplements on top of ultra processed junk which caused the damage in the first place
Too much B6 and B12 have a negative effect and can add to symptoms.
Be careful w/ B6 toxicity. In the copper group they advise against B6. I can't remember the reason why though. So plz do your research.
Want a cure for neuropathy - quit eating sugary foods for 30 - 60 days and see what happens - it worked for me and it could work for you. I cut out all pies, ice cream, doughnuts, Little Debbies etc... grapes and bananas are super loaded with sugar. While they do have some nutrients, it might be better for you to find alternate sources for those nutrients.
Lay off the bananas and grapes!!!! JC those are super high in carbs. Go for berries instead: straws, blues, blacks and rasps.
Eat bananas that are more on the green side. Less sugar. Ripe equals more sugar
Bananas have sugar in them
One point on ALA,, alpha lipoic acid is a cautionary note, if an individual has hypothyroidism and being compensated with Levothyroxine,, ALA may lower the of thyroid hormone,, thus, blood hormone levels, and thyroid function tests should be monitored closely to maintain a proper balance.

Thanks for info contained in this video. Alpha, lipoic acid comes in to forms: R-Alpha lipoic acid (Which is naturally formed, and stored in fat cells)
There’s also S- Alpha lipoic acid (Which is synthetically created, and is water based)
Only use the R-Alpha, lipoic acid.
R type is definitely the best, will me more expensive as well.
Try R Alpha Lipoic Acid not regular Alpha Lipoic Acid and find it in a liposomal form.Liposomes make it absorb 10 times better.
Icing using ice water or ice cubes?
Actually I use Ice but even with the ice it's becoming a challenge, some days I can't walk because of the pain and inflammation and bad weather makes it worse.

Try massaging in castor oil (add a couple of drops of frankincense oil to it in your hand and mix.) Then rub on your feet. Spray on magnesium oil and rub in. Epsom salts foot bath. Also try a multi magnesium supplement (5 kinds of magnesium in 1 tablet) as there are 5 kinds of magnesium and not all help. I can sleep at night because my foot is not throbbing. I also have noticed my sciactic pain is a lot better. My job has concrete floors and with inventory time here, i can walk around without feeling i want to cut my leg off!
That’s awesome, thanks for sharing!
Which product you used tell brand name i have also same symptoms
Same here the pain had me feeling so depressed and my sciatic nerve pain is the worse I have ever had!
Can I ask how long the ALA taken at 800 mg took to work?
Ditto! The barefoot gait is hands down the most helpful for me to heal my feet! I just started the Lipoic acid a month ago and found it needs to be UNSYNTHETIC, get the NA-R-Alpha version. DYOR.

@@suzannehughes8697 Suzanne, in taking biotin - did it give you more hair everywhere on your body, or just your scalp? Serious question. thanks

I've been taking this supplement for a week and i'm glad to see it's the one recommended by a Doctor.
NJ
Thank you for the info.
I’m with you; same thing happened to me. It has been getting progressively worse over the past 15 years. You?😊

R-ALA is very good for neuropathy, however Benfotiamine is also excellent as it is a fat-soluble form of Vitamin B1 (Thiamine). I also add cayenne pepper to enhance blood flow.
Natural MDs usually recommend synthetic R-ALA over the cheaper non-synthetic alpha biopic acid.

How are you doing now?
Thanks for sharing additional info! This video was meant to just be quick and informative but more could definitely be said on the topic

I had my peripheral neuropathy for almost a year now and it's so severe. I need your help Doctor.
For you gut issues try fermented foods such as kombucha, kefir, fermented vegetables etc.

Ceylon cinnamon is good, but stay away from Saigon cinnamon as it's said not t be real cinnamon and can be toxic if you use too much. alpha lipoic acid 600mg works excellent when given with benfotiamine 300mg .. twice daily for 3 months.
Thanks for sharing!
Can’t discern in your comments if are you taking BOTH the lipoic acid AND the benofortiame twice a day?
What is commercial name for this
@@NayneshShah_life_photos got both separately from amazon.. many good brands prepare it
@@NayneshShah_life_photos instead of both you can also take Cap. Nuphoria Gold .. google plz.
Have you ever heard about side effect of ALA such as problem with breathing? When I was taking ALA a time ago I had a strange feeling like I had to remember to breath! We breath automatically but in that time I had to remember to breath and it was very frustrating. Any comments on that problem?
Stress leads to Peripheral Neuropathy especially if you have diabetes t1 and t2.
Sorry to hear it hasn't helped! Some people find that R alpha lipoic acid works better.

@@gigiwills7851 Many doctors don't care; some however do and will advise you correctly; don't be afraid to ask questions.

Exactly! Tell me what doctors to consult with or refer to. Most neurologist and pcp's are clueless and want you to try another drug. Just give us a straight answer. Why is that so hard?
I use a vibration plate morning and night for 10 minutes each time. Great effect. Do try one

I can attest that pscylisybin mushrooms in small amounts have helped unbearable sciatic pain.
So many supplements to buy these days, thank you.
Interesting! Never heard of pscylisybin helping sciatic pain but I don’t doubt it. Hope you get relief!
Thank you Dr.@@StronglifePhysiotherapy I don't misuse them, but with little option for help I tried just 1gram of dried, but take less now.
Just doing my leg exercise right now, I could not do this a month ago! I would like to try your supplement too. Kindest regards 🙂🏴
reading other sites and video's, there are warnings for thyroid med users to not take ALA , or people with diabetic meds? what have you found in your treatments and is there a alternative for these people.

Get natural raised meat. Not animals fed grain.
Thanks.
You’re talking Keto
@@jenniferjolliffe4269 Hello Jen,
I'm 71 and trying to keep strong and healthy.
Bitter melon extract
Co q 10
Cordyceps. Good for inflammation, bad back pain
L Arginine. Blood flow for workouts
L Citrulline. Blood flow workouts
L orinithine
L tyrosine
Magnesium glycine
Pine bark
Quercetin
Taurine
Turmeric
Wheatgrass
Vitamin d 3
That's most of them.
Check out Jordan Peterson and how it helped his daughter get over the
arthritis that was destroying her body.
Very good information! Thank you, God Bless!!
Glad it was helpful, thanks for watching!

!!! Greetings from Montréal, Québec, Canada !!! I have been dealing with 'Neuropathy' for the past 3-5 years (I am not 'Reglular in my medication taking, but working on it, bit by bit) still, I shall give this supplement a try and will let you know how much it has diminished and/or improved !?! Thank you for your advice !!! Cheers !!!
Make sure you're not B-1 or B-12 deficient. Benfotamine, a synthetic form of B-1 is supposed to reduce the effects of neuropathy.
Go Habs!!
Magnesium has helped too.
Thanks

R-ALA is more effective than ALA alone, which is a combination of R & S- ALA. Further combination with Benfotiamine, methyl cobalamin, other antioxidants help relieve peripheral neuropathy. Accompanied with regular exercises of the ankles and toes can do wonders over a long period.
Spot on, thanks for sharing!
I've seen people do well with the synthetic form but I agree R-ALA is best
Great teacher watching from kitwe copperbelt zambia 🇿🇲 greetings
I lived in Kitwe way back when..the best place to grow up.
I got neuropathy from a lab tech at one of the top blood labs in the country.I have it all over now.
It should be Stabilized Na-R-ALA
Not just R-Alpha Lipoic Acid
And you don't want the s version either it is unstabilized
So make sure you get Stabilized Na-R-ALA
I'm not quite sure why you would recommend that brand let alone a 100 Mgs, when in order for this to even work, you need to take at least 300 to 600 Mgs
Is there a brand you like and is it available on Amazon?
I am a long time sufferer of this awful problem. Yes I am diabetic for many years. lately my A1C has been good. I have been searching for help. I heard from my own doctor about this supplement. also VITAMIN B12. I also heard you can buy lasers that can help heal damaged nerves. I am trying all i can.
Keep working at it, hope you get relief!
*Magnesium deficiency* most people have this problem...Look into magnesium deficiency...Take before bed time... sleep better, the nerve pain should subside...
Yes, magnesium is commonly deficient. Definitely a good supplement for general health and could help neuropathy.
Zinc 14 mg a day.
Yes my husband has lung cancer and he has this I’ve been giving him B12-4-6-5-7 and it helps a litttle he has an excellent diet .
I will by this but I don’t want symchetic one . Can you sujest this supplement without synthetic natural please
The Dr. says there is only 2% chance he will cut a nerve. Thank you.
