R and S forms refers to the chirality of the molecule. R= rectus (right handed), S = sinsiter (left handed). R and S are both synthetic when mass produced for supplements. S is a biproduct of the production. Racemic mixtures (50/50, R/S) are then processed to separate the 2 enantiomers. R is the biologically acitve and natrually produced form. For supplements, R and S are both produced synthetically, then separated. S does not stand for synthetic. But it's an easy way to remember, for non chemists.

Four months after a two month stint in the hospital with covid and a twice collapsed lung I had pain in my heart (or heart area) when I breathed in deeply. The pain wasn't lessening at all with time. My doctor gave me an IV of Alpha Lipoic Acid and I swear to god 90% of the pain was gone by that evening. Then the following week I got another IV and the pain was 99% gone. After the third IV the pain was completely gone and hasn't come back and that was a couple of months ago. I'm a believer. My doctors all believed that I was suffering from nerve damaged from the emergency chest tube that they put between my ribs and that my heart wasn't involved.
That's fantastic. I'm so happy that you were in a hospital that was that progressive and offered ALA IV infusions. Most don't. So happy to hear that you're on the road to recovery.
@@NerveDoctors Actually, the IV was done by my functional medicine doctor. She tried to get the hospital to give me various IVs like Vitamin C while I was there and she had a very hard time of it.
Yeah, they usually look at whatever is most convenient for them to say whether it is accurate or not. And they follow each other like lemmings so have to hope the first one got lucky and got it right. Good luck with every thing.
My heart-felt gratitude for watching this video before I opened my first purchase of ALA (from a reputable Australian brand) only to find that the active ingredients did not state "R" on the ingredient list. Luckily, I kept the receipt and did not open. So, I ventured onto Amazon to purchase your brand "Nuphoria" only to find that it is completely sold out. There is another brand I will research before I buy. (Jarrow) Thank you so much for caring enough to enlighten us poor sufferers - Life's tough enough having to deal with the pain let alone unwittigly giving money to unscrupulous shysters for nothing!!
Six months ago I found this video. I found to be very informative and I bought ALA from Amazon. It took some time to heal my nerves just like you said in video. Today after following your protocol I am at 98% recovered from neuropathy. The nerves damage I had was from a fall by accident in my back yard. I like to thank you so much for your efforts in putting out this videos and sharing your knowledge with people. Very grateful.
WOO HOO! WAY TO GO, TIEL. So happy that you took a proactive approach to your health and look how it paid off. You should be extremely proud of yourself. Blessings.
Tiel Roxy you can also take unfortified nutritional yeast and get your B vitamins over time will heal the mylan sheath covering it does work well it did for me
@@kuljim2602 Yes, I did it for 6 Months and I am very happy with the results. Just like she said in the video, it takes time it will not happen in a week or two,but I felt the progress in my hand than in my fingers.
Thank you for being straight with us and not sugar coating it. You called it a scam, and it is. I'm having such difficulty finding a good one to purchase, because te powers that be want us ill and dumbed down
I had a hard time finding R-ALA too. I found one at Super Supplements (Vitamin Shoppe). Life Extension brand "Super R-Lipoic Acid 240 mg, and yes, like she said it was near $50! But if it works, it's worth it!
Great information, I did not know the difference - I got rid of my Type 2 diabetes over 10 years ago from Doctor Fung and the neuropathy is just about gone ... you are a true blessing... thank you
I was amazed when i watched this video. Have been taking ALA for months now NOT FEELING DIFFERENT AT ALL. I suffer from very bad CRPS in my right knee which has caused me a great deal of neuropathy pain IM ACTUALLY FIGHTING FOR MY LIFE RIGHTNOW im ordering your product immediatly THANK YOU
Good morning. I'm so glad our video helped you. If you need more guidance, don't hesitate to reach out to us. We're happy to help get you on the right path. Blessings.
I’ve been doing a lot of research recently and learned that the R Alpha Lipoic Acid is the authentic form . I’m impressed with your videos. Thank you.😢
Dr. Monteiro, I am obviously not the only one who deems you to be a most concerned and benevolent doctor, who cares about the quality of your work and how you relay the topics to your public. We love and appreciate you.
You go lovely!! Stay as stress free as you can and embrace your healing journey with self love. (I do this and believe we are led by our guiding spirit) X
Did you alter your diet in any way? as an example cut back on sugar? how long have you had neuropathy? some people need to do a month or two depending on what's happening in their bodies ..there are a lot of symptoms..On medication? Did you contact The Nerve Doctors? I'm not in medical field and I'm not trying to say that it didn't work for you just was wondering have you tried anything else that has helped ?
Notice the information she is ommitting, DOSAGE AMOUNT which ranges BETWEEN 600-1800MG per day. She's directly selling HER expensive supplement. Cheaper versions like nutricost work equally well, Try it for 3 weeks and see for yourself. You're welcome.
Yep I buy the Nutri cost on Amazon but there are two of them so she is correct about the r in front of it I take 3 in the morning and 3 at night they are 100 mg and they work perfectly fine
I learned about ALA just recently and was just about ready to order it from Amazon. I have neuropathy in both feet. I noticed in researching the products on Amazon that there were R-ALA, S-ALA, and RS-ALA and was very confused about that. SO, thank you for such a detailed explanation about which product is the best. I am thankful I came across your video before I put in my order. Blessings!!!

Thank you for your videos. Am 41 and just spent 2,5 months in hospital due to cellulitis and sepsis. I was in coma for almost 2 weeks. When I wake up I realized that I don't have any feelings in both my legs, my foots are completely numb. I know for my surgeon that they was fighting with infection, high blood temperature but also high blood sugar(Am diabetic) Neurologist diagnosed me with diabetic neuropathy. I was fully mobile before the hospital now I can barely walk. Am back home now and just received letter from physiotherapy hospital that I will have to wait 18 weeks for the appointment so your videos are the only thing that I have to help me get back on my feet 😊😊😊
OMGosh that’s horrible! How are you doing now!? Did you get some ALA? I’ve been reading a lot about it combined with benfotimine (spelling?), and it’s supposed to work synergistic miracles. Please let us know how your legs and feet are doing! (I know how difficult recovery from coma can be - I was in a coma for 10 days)….. ❤

@@sylazytowska6857 sweet of you to say that. I’m much better now. But it’s been 14 years. Had to do a deep dive into natural cures - I prob wouldn’t be alright if I hadn’t. Dr Eric Berg is another good source of info, but I’ll bet you know that already. Keep us posted on your recovery. I’m very interested. ❤️
Thanks! I did a lot of research and this is the most complete video I could find about alpha lipoic acid. And it's the only video I found that differentiates between the types of alpha lipoic acids that exist and teaches how to recognize the ideal. Thank you one more time!
@@NerveDoctors I knew, thank goodness. The companies that sell the useless form are criminal and should be held accountable. Plain and simply fraudulent.
I have been buying and supplementing with alpha lipoic acid since 2005. This is the first time these different forms of ALA have come to my attention. Better late than never.
I went to 5 stores to find R-ALA and not a single one referenced the letters S, SR or R, so I would say the manufactures are hiding something from us by not properly disclosing what is actually in their products.
I guess we can’t get away from the money grubbers who don’t care if you get better or not , just spend your money on junk. Thank you for your honest information.👍🙌keep up the good work
most valuable presentation I’ve ever seen for my neuropathy. I actually have purchased alpha Lipoic acid without the R. I will find it with the R. Thanks again.
Hi Curtis. I'm so glad this video was helpful for you. The brand that I typically recommend for my patients who need just the 'R-ALA is Immunovites (link: amzn.to/3Dy0PdG). We have no affiliation with this company. They simply put out an excellent quality of R-ALA. Blessings.
@@NerveDoctors Thank you for the video and information. The 'Immunovites' product seems to be NA-R-ALA. Is the the same or different from R-ALA? Is it better? Thank you, Doctor. 🙏
I’m excited about taking this product, this Dr is truly an answer to my prayers. I’ve been suffering from sciatica nerve pain for months. After praying, she popped up on my Utube page.
Omw I am going to check mine now! I have been taking mine for months now and cannot under stand why my leg and foot is not improving after my op 11 months ago. Thank you so much doctor you are truly an angel ❤
I'm truly happy to help. Now, here are a few things to consider. If you have been using R-ALA with minimal results, then you'll need to complex it with these vitamins B6 (Pyridoxal 5 Phosphate), Benfotiamine(B1) and methylcobalamin (B12). That should make a significant difference. Also, having patience is the key. Nerves are the slowest healing tissues in the body and it can take anywhere from 8 months to 2 years to fully recover. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. Blessings.
@@NerveDoctors please advice about B6, it is said that it is toxic when it is out of range, my confusion is when it is water soluble how can it be the most toxic vitamin in B....what is the recommended dose per day for B6... I have neuropathy and colitis both
@@nageshnimbalkar4091 is sold in two pyradoxine forms, as the hydrochloride salt - HCl, which is, cheap and not good or the -5 phosphate, P5P for short which is good.
Hi Sheila. You are so very welcome. Solgar was once an outstanding supplement company, but I too have been quite disappointed with their quality over the past few years. Have a great week.
That surprises me Solgar is a very reputable company. The Blue bonnet company is all of solgars ex staff they wanted to use cheaper ingredients Solgar said no so Blue bonnet uses cheaper ingredients
the best form is R-ALA - 2 FORMS OF R-ALA STABILIZIZED AND NON STABILIZED - STABILIZED BEING THE MOST BIOAVAILABLE. (Stabilized is Na-R-ALA /Unstabilized is R-ALA) - Thanks for all you hard work Dr. M
Your Vlogs are brilliant, for one you give crystal clear researched run downs am particularly on peripheral Neuropathy, and above all you are not an alarmist trying to sell something amid fear and confusion. This information about different types of ALA was godsend, as I had a hit a road block in the treatment of PN using ALA that was clearly not the R form of ALA. So thank you once again and I am now your viewer for good🙏🙏
Will R ALA help with back pain caused by spinal stenosis etc.? I've had many injections and an ablation that left a huge dent in my hip area. They said the nerves will grow back but I don't think they have. Why don't doctors ever mention natural supplements like you have? It's always about keeping the patient “sick” and the money made from that. I bought what you suggested for my husband who has post-hermetic neuralgia from shingles. His doctor thought it was cancer! I cannot wait to see how he does. I also ordered him L-lysine, olive leaf extract, Vit B complex, Vit D. It's a horrible pain. I even researched the New England Journal of medicine and they are “ trying” to find a cure for various types of pain. Not one word about anything natural! Somehow I'm not surprised. God bless you and your family! Thank you!
Well done and thank you for telling us this important information. Most people have no idea about chirality and the R and S structural configurations of groups of molecules in organic chemistry. It's the difference between a biologically active and an inactive product.
I had yet to learn about this! But recently, I read in a doctoral thesis that when you gave alpha lipoic acid (it didn't mention anything about R-, S- or RS ALA) to a group of patients in a dose of 600 mg daily, they recovered within three months from their dilemma. But now that I have listened to this video, I realize how important it is to choose the non-synthetic tablet, which was probably meant in the experiment I referred to above. I have suffered from what I initially called Morton's syndrome, which may actually be neuropathy, although a recent blood test shows that I do not have diabetes. When I thought I had neuropathy, I bought alpha lipoic acid tablets (without an R in front of ALA), and they have made no difference either, which is explained by your explanation. Outstanding presentation and analysis, for which I thank you very much! ❤🙏 PS I saw another article that mentioned that they also tried giving 600 mg of R ALA to patients suffering from Alzheimer's. However, I don't know how the tests turned out, as I didn't get access to the site, which I don't want to pay for (I'm just an ordinary but curious person!) DS
Thanks very much Dr, that's great information for some of us. I learnt of ALA only yesterday and it's effectiveness in helping with periphery nerve repair but never the difference. Now I know what to get when I go to the pharmacy. Bless you.
Thank you for this. A TH-cam doctor that I recently learned about ALA From actually suggested a product that is the rs type. I’m very thankful I came across your video prior to purchasing. I’m 62 and the myopathy in my feet started after a severe case of covid in 2021 and has gradually gotten worse.
I think multi prescriptions and increasing strengths of anti biotic may have caused my neuropathy symptoms. They were necessary to stop cellulitis - stop infection spreading to my blood or bones, so I am thankful the treatment succeeded. @@protectorofthetruth8472 I
My neuropathy originated from contracting a mosquito borne virus which triggered Epstein Barr Virus. Then I contracted Covid in early 2020 (loss of taste/smell) which I am sure made my pain worse. However, the pain has lessened due to my changing jobs. (I sit at a desk now) .. Every evening I do Yin Yoga & eat a very clean diet. I have good days and bad days depending on my stress levels. Also, look into Qigong. That has an amazing effect on healing the body too.
Just found your channel a couple months ago. I bought your Nuphoria Max Strength. Excellent product. I personally like the fact there aren’t a lot of filler ingredients, you get a good B vitamin RDA and most importantly it actually works. Not the cheapest but the results are priceless. Thank you
I've Being having peripheral nerve pain with edema for about 2years now, and then recently I decided to go see a doctor after the symptoms became worse.I was prescribed amitriptyline to which I took to no effect, then just today I was prescribed pregaballin for the pain .Before taking the drugs I did some online research and I found that this drug has so many bad reviews and somehow I stumbled on this video and I'm so happy I did,I love how you simplified everything and made it so easy to understand, I will be getting the R ALA for my nerve pain for sure.
Hi Kelly. I'm so glad you found our channel. Let me guide you. Based on the little bit you described, you are going to need more than just R-ALA. You will need all of the other critical nutrients for nerve repair. I can assure you Pregabalin is the worse most evil drug that I ever have taken and I have take a lot. It affected so much my cognition that some people thought I was getting dementia . I was living in a kind of parallel reality, my short term memory completely gone. Avoid it at all costs.
S does not mean 'Synthetic'. R and S are used to define the 'handedness' of stereoisomers. Funny, she didn't mention anything about enantiomers of chiral compounds. It matters and would have been instructive instead of just believing her.
I'm glad I found your video. I ordered Simply Natures Pure Alpha Lipoic Acid 600mg 120 Veggie Capsules from Amazon. But as I was watching your video, you showed where to look to see what type it is. It was just as you said. 300mg of R-ALA and 300mg of S-ALA. I just canceled my order
The old adage. You get ehat you pay for. Thank you Doctor.I was just about to order when I saw your article. You have saved me from buying the wrong product. Thank you
I was in a bad ATV accident on 3/5. I had a concussion and a deep gash in my scalp that required 6 staples which is healing well. Blessedly, I had no broken bones. However, I have deep internal bruising and now I have stabbing pain as my nerves are "waking up", even in my ears. Even my hair follicles hurt! I believe your video is a timely godsend! I need to order your brand of R- alpha lipoic acid and also take the Benfotiamine form of vitamin B-1. God bless you and thank you for your videos!!
Make sure they take a good look at your spine. Thirty years ago I hit something in a field that sent me off the front of a Banshee topped out, somewhere around 60-70mph. I only remember shifting in to 6th... and then ambulance lights. I broke the face guard on my helmet. I had a concussion, a small chunk of flesh missing from my leg, broken and dislocated collar bone. What I just found out 2 years ago is that I have a spinal compression injury between my shoulder blades. It's really been wreaking havoc on me for the last few years. I have no money or insurance so I can't do anything about it. Had I known about the injury then, or even 5 years ago when I still had insurance, it could have been fixed.

Yes I have known it since 7 years ago by reading on Amazon reviews. I got the R-ALA about $20 for a month's supply. It worked out for the severe neuropathy after shingles instead of taking a prescription from my doctor who thought I would not recovered.
I have been a little confused why ALA helped me greatly with my inflammation in the past, but now (using a different brand) it makes my inflammation worse. Thank you.
So sorry that you're experiencing this. My guess is the new brand probably isn't the same quality as possibly the old brand. A good quality brand of R-ALA I recommend is: Immunovites. Here's the link: amzn.to/3OY5IPC
Thank you Doctor. I learned a lot from you. More than 10 years ago, I had a flu that lasted for more than two weeks and self medicated with antibiotic. I lost all my muscles and was diagnosed with Miller Fisher Syndrome which was treated with 5 nights of Immunoglobulin vaccine thru IV. My neuro doctor explained that my own immune system attacked my nerves instead of attacking the virus. The sheet that covers my nerves was damaged by my own immune system. I think I have an autoimmune disorder.
Two things that surprised me are things that big companies do to mislead people in buying quality products, your information was most helpful, the other thing that surprised me is there’s not many doctors that will take time to help us make good decisions thank you ❤️
Thank you for your video. I started taking ALA based on another TH-cam channel promoting the benefits or ALA, but there was never any mention that there were two types of ALA on the market, R-ALA and S-ALA. So, being naïve, I went out and bought the cheapest version there was which was RS-ALA. I'm finishing up the first bottle now and had ordered another bottle to continue on, thinking that it might take several months to be able to see a difference. Thanks to your video I now know that I have been wasting my money, and I returned the other bottle I had bought too. Now on the hunt for the R-ALA, (Real-Alpha Lipoic Acid).
Hi Alan Smart, I'm glad you found our video informative. We do not carry a stand-alone R-ALA supplement. Because, in our vast experience we've found that when a person has moderate to severe PN or if they've had it for longer than 2 years, R-ALA, by itself won't get them across the finish line. So, we created our nerve support formula with the proper amount of R-ALA (600 mg) along with all of the other critical nutrients for the nerves as outlined in clinical studies. You can find our formula, Nuphoria cm gold and its listed ingredients at healmynerves.com/collections/our-products/products/nuphoria-cm-maximum-strength? If you'd like to learn more about the critical nutrients for nerve repair, watch this video: • Vital nutrients for nerve repair: th-cam.com/video/wPruq49-ksU/w-d-xo.html
I did not know this helpful information. I have a bottle and am going to check it as soon as I can. Thank you so much for this as I am having nerve issues and want to heal and feel better.
My understanding was that R ALA is very unstable…..thus….S ALA is added for longer stability….. now I am learning that R ALA is best…..it is so frustrating that there is so much misinformation to make sense out off. Thank you for this video 😊
Hi Danuse. I know it's definitely enough to make your head spin. So, your understanding is correct. However, they began to learn through further research that although the 'S' enantiomer stabilized it, it could actually deactivate the activity of the natural 'R' form. Now a molecule of sodium is used to stabilize the the R-ALA. Anytime you see the word stabilized after R-ALA on the ingredient label or if it says Na R-ALA it means it's been stabilized with sodium. Hope this clears it up for you. Blessings.
Thank you for this video! Extremely helpful. I was purchasing "alpha-lipoic acid" now I purchase R-alpha lipoic acid for nerve pain and managing glucose. I have type ll DM that is diet controlled . Since I'm not on medicine, I take R-alpha lipoic acid. Great video
My question is what dosages of R-Alpha Lipoic Acid and B1 should I take. It’s a struggle to keep my A1C below 7. I have some nerve pain in my feet but not super bad. I’m 79 and in very good heath. I’m 85% vegan (do eggs four times a week along with salmon 4 times a month). I’m an avid golfer and bowler and in the gym 3 times a week. I’ve shared your channel with many of my golf and bowling buddies.
🔺REDUCE/REVERSE Diabetes and/or Neuropathy… 🌈 BERBERINE 900-2000 mg split dosage after meals to substitute for metformin*. ALWAYS TAKE w CINNAMON… I take 300mg benfotiamine and 2000 mg of organic cinnamon 2-3 times daily. Do this for 8 weeks and then reduce to once daily. If numbers are still high after 2-3 weeks, repeat treatment. My glucose numbers were upper 200s and low 300s. Now my numbers are 65-140. It’s all natural and much healthier without side effects. Two pure supplements that I take to REVERSE Neuropathy: Benfotiamine (B1) 300mg x 3 R-alpha lipoic acid 300mg x 2 The specific forms given above are most bioavailable so the most effective… other forms are ineffective and interfere with recovery. R-alpha lipoic acid is the “real“ product. S-alpha lipoic acid is synthetic and not effective. If combined, the synthetic cancels the effects of the real stuff! If no letter is given before the phrase “alpha lipoic acid“ it is synthetic and does not work. *For those unaware, metformin causes neuropathy. The difference between berberine and dihydroberberine (DHB) is that DHB is absorbed at five times the rate of regular berberine. However, it is quite costly, but your DHB intake can be 1/5-1/6 of your regular berberine intake. DHB is very hard to get and may not be available in doses to be taken 2-3 times daily. After much research and comparison for purity of product without unneeded or unwanted ingredients, I recommend the following from Amazon… Order using subscriptions so you receive discounts when ordering items in the same month. a.co/d/iyRnxKd Berberine a.co/d/cX6Rk1Y Cinnamon a.co/d/ftxKNCR R-lipoic acid a.co/d/ftxKNCR Benfotiamine However, it would seem that the combination provided by the nerve doctors working synergistically is actually a better deal than separate items.
I think you need to cut down on the carbohydrates. I don't know how to do that on a vegetarian diet. The fish and eggs are good. Butter is good. You can get a glucose meter and follow Dennis Pollock on TH-cam. Sometimes the A1c can be inaccurate, too. But with the neuropathy, I'm guessing your glucose and insulin stay too high. I hope that helps. Please only take my information as a direction for your investigations.

I did the same... I purchased two bottles of alpha lipoic acid, at a lower more affordable price. But now I'm going to return the unopened one and purchase the correct one.
I'm just seeing this because I've been researching neuropathy pain in my husband's feet since his DX od Rhabdomylosis last June. They put him on Gabapentin and although it seems to help his pain, I don't want him on it long term after watching your video about how it can cause neuropathy as well! I am glad you have a link to purchase this product because I can't find it in my own research. Thank you for all this information you provide free of charge. God bless you.
Hello Doctor! My husband ordered ALA and on the side of the bottle it says...CL Alpha Acid 600mg...but I did not hear you mention the "CL" at all. Is this the wrong ALA also? Please tell us if this something harmful or worthless, because we don't want to waste time and $$$ on useless trifles! Thank you for your time and your informative videos. Keep up the excellent work! kristi
Hi Kristi. Hmmm....CL-ALA. Well, you've completely stumped me. In all my research, I've never seen a version called CL-ALA. I'm familiar with a DL enantiomer. Do me a favor, snap a picture of the front label and the back label that has the 'Supplement Facts' panel and send it to my email at: info@nuphoria.com. I'll take a look at it. Blessings.
Thank you for the information. I have a question, what is the difference between R-Lipoic Acid and R-Alpha Lipoic Acid? The lipoic acid that I am taking because I have neuropathy says R-Lipolic Acid.
Hi Maria. That's an excellent question. Both of these compounds are excellent but they work slightly different from each other. R-ALA is an antioxidant, a free radical scavenger that repairs oxidative damage. So, this is very important for nerve degeneration. While, R-Lipoic acid serves as a cofactor for the mitochondria. So, in essence, it helps with mitochondrial health. If you're suffering from PN, I would recommend using the R-ALA form. Hope this helps. Blessings.
@@NerveDoctors do you think 600mg of R-LA may still help peripheral neuropathy? I want to try this but so far can't seem to find R-ALA. I'm only seeing R-LA when there's an R in the name.
@@MC-yx9oe I upped my ALA today, from 300mg 3xD to 600mg 3xD and the relief is astonishing. I have the R-ALA on order, but each capsule is approximately 220mg so I will have to figure out the best dosage once I begin taking it.
Excellent question... Thank you for asking about that in such a detailed way. I too was wondering about why the word "Alpha" was missing and the label only read R-lipoic acid😀
I was about to buy ALA not knowing there's a huge difference between R ALA and S ALA. Thanks so much for saving us from those pharmaceutical predators. Blessings!
Thank you for a very informative video clip. (And you got to the point quickly which is always a blessing!) I unfortunately did buy ALA R+S (without seeing this first), for possible insulin sensitivity - and will have no problem dumping them if there is no obvious benefit. So surely the manufacturers must provide some benefits or they'd only have single non-repeated orders?
Hi Jas. Thanks for sharing. So, what happens with the synthetic 'S' version is that it deactivates certain enzymes in most people that prevent the ALA or even R-ALA (in the case of the racemic mixture) from being effectively utilized by the cells. There is a small percentage of the population that this will not effect, albeit small. Fortunately, you fall into that small percentage, which is great. However, the majority of people will not be as fortunate as you. However, I'm truly happy that it has helped you. Blessings.
i guess ive been taking the S version as it depicts an S on the front of the bottle . it has worked wonders for me , literal Mirical's for me when i had nerve pain so severe that if i brushed against the wall i would feel instant pain . i have been using this version for 3 years now and feel good effects when i double or even triple the suggested dosage i am also type 2 diabetic .

Such a great video, doc. Thank you so much for this. One question though, is it true that taking R-ALA can cause severe hair loss? I've read a couple of reviews from people who started to develop severe hair loss around 3 months after they began taking R-ALA. Thanks!
You're very welcome. R-ALA does not cause hair loss. On the contrary, clinical research has shown that it can slow down a receding hairline and facilitate new hair growth by blocking enzymes that threaten our hair roots in general. Typically, what happens with hair loss is that a person has an underactive thyroid problem that has gone undetected or they are deficient in minerals and trace minerals. Thanks for the great question. Blessings.

Thank you for this info! My mom is 78 and has had idiopathic neuropathy for about 9 hrs. She’s not diabetic, has had 5 spinal surgeries and has tried so many products trying to help. She really struggles with this, do you think there’s hope with the R-ALA after 9 years? Thank you in advance! ♥️
Hi Jodi. ABSOLUTELY! We've had peripheral neuropathy patients come to us that had been suffering for 20 years and were able to turn their cases around. Now, given the fact that your mom has had this for 9 years, she will need more in addition to R-ALA. She's going to need Benfotiamine, Pyridoxal 5 Phosphate, Methylcobalamin, Acetyl L Carnitine and L-citrulline. You don't have to buy these separately. You can usually get them in 1 or 2 nerve support formulas. You must make sure, though that they're in the right amounts, otherwise it won't work. Watch my video: The Right Dose. Always important to ask who funds these videos and what do they stand to benefit from doing so. And massively important to eat and drink only healthy foods and to do both cardio and weight bearing exercises regularly. With a balanced, high quality diet, reducing the intake of carcenogenic foods (bacon and other red meats, alcohol etc, and refined sugar) you don't need supplements. The body is great at providing everything you need to be safe and healthy, as long as you put good stuff in.

Thank you for the info. I had hoped to hear that somewhere medical researchers are working around the clock to find solutions to the PN crisis (unfortunately, NO!). My Neurologist tells me that nerves cannot recover. I agree that the underlying condition must be addressed. My experience so far is that perhaps, due to addressing the underlying condition, the progression of the PN may have been slowed, perhaps stopped. Both Lyrica and Gabapentin seem to help somewhat. Am open to supplementation. Just ordered the Nuphoria advertised here. I will give a report once I give it a good month or so. Since I am older, healing takes longer. This is a no-sh*t bad disorder to have. If others have tried this, I would be interested in reading about their real experiences with the Nuphoria.
Hi Tom. I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. I don't know if your familiar with my story. I became an expert in this field because my mother had developed a severe case of PN from chemotherapy due to lung cancer. So, I do know how debilitating this condition is. Based on the information you provided here, it will take longer than 30 days for you to see results. The more severe and the longer you've had PN, the more time it takes before symptoms begin to alleviate. When you receive your order, there's an insert that will come with it that outlines what you can expect in terms of timelines for results. We are here to help not only our patients but our customers, as well. We really do want to see you guys recover, which is very possible. Hi thank you for the great info. The bottles that say R- Alpha Lipoic acid in the front and back, then say at the back it is derived from Na R-ALA - Sodium R- alpha Lioate. Is yhe correct one to use? Most of the ones say the same. Thanks.
Hi Norman. Yes, this is the correct one. Previously companies were displaying R-Alpha Lipoic Acid (stabilized) which is the same as NA R-ALA. R-Alpha Lipoic Acid must be stabilized for absorption into the cells and to prevent degradation in the GI track. In order to stabilize it to maximize cellular absorption, a molecule known as sodium is used. More companies are now displaying this to show the sodium molecule (NA+). Whether it says stabilized or NA R-ALA they are both the same. Thanks for this great question.

Much love and appreciation to you from Morocco🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I'm sorry, but I have to disagree. I am 70 years old with well-managed type 2 diabetes for over 30 years. Six years ago, I suddenly developed neuropathy in my left hand. and both feet. I took regular ALA and in less than a month I was 90% healed. After two years I tried R-ALA and got a red rash on my legs that went away after stopping. Later I took a break and suddenly I got serious double vision, My ophthalmologist diagnosed damage to the main optic nerve and left me without therapy just like the previous doctor for my numb legs. Many doctors do not appreciate the importance of alternative medicine. On the same day, I took an increased dose of 2x600 "NOW" ALA and in just a week I completely recovered my regular vision. Now two years have passed since I am in excellent shape with 600Mg ALA per day. Some manufacturers of R-ALA regularly warn about allergies.
You said you stopped taking R-ALA after developing the rash on your legs and then the rash went away when you stopped taking it. When you said you got double vision and a damaged optic nerve when on a break, what were you on a break from? Did you start the R-ALA again and then take a break? Please excuse my confusion. I have issues with my optic nerve and don't want to do more damage if R-ALA is going to harm further.
No, I never took R-ALA again. As a long-term diabetic, I developed neuropathy in 2017 and started taking regular ALA at first 600, later 300 mg and recovered in just a month. After about two successful years, I took a break for a few months and did not take ALA at all. In December 2020, almost overnight, I got very serious double vision. The doctor diagnosed optic nerve damage as a possible consequence of diabetes without giving me therapy. We talked about special glasses and he sent me home so we can talk to each other... Since he confirmed that it was part of my already known neuropathy, I immediately decided to return to my tested therapy. The same day I started high dose ALA 2x600 and in just a few days I had an incredible improvement and a quick and 100% recovery. No one will and cannot confirm that I was cured with this supplement, nor do I know what happened and what will happen. I have been taking 600 mg of ALA since then and still have no neuropathy.@@Vibrant_Spirit

fayth there are a number of products that are the correct STABALIZED R-Lipoic Acid but like you noticed, the dosage is not enough.
That is a good, concise explanation. Thanks.

Since 2005? I guess it doesn't work!

I have neuropathy and colitis both

the best form is R-ALA - 2 FORMS OF R-ALA STABILIZIZED AND NON STABILIZED - STABILIZED BEING THE MOST BIOAVAILABLE.
So thank you once again and I am now your viewer for good🙏🙏
Thank you for sharing your kind words, Asim. Blessings.
That is correct. Thank you so much for acknowledging that. Blessings.
Please tell us where we can get it from.food and quantities of food
PS I saw another article that mentioned that they also tried giving 600 mg of R ALA to patients suffering from Alzheimer's. However, I don't know how the tests turned out, as I didn't get access to the site, which I don't want to pay for (I'm just an ordinary but curious person!) DS

Hi Alan Smart,
I'm glad you found our video informative.
Blessings.
@@NerveDoctors thank you for taking time to reply and further explain. I certainly got much better information from your amazing video. 🙏

🔺REDUCE/REVERSE Diabetes and/or Neuropathy…
🌈 BERBERINE 900-2000 mg split dosage after meals to substitute for metformin*. ALWAYS TAKE w CINNAMON…
I take 300mg benfotiamine and 2000 mg of organic cinnamon 2-3 times daily. Do this for 8 weeks and then reduce to once daily.
If numbers are still high after 2-3 weeks, repeat treatment. My glucose numbers were upper 200s and low 300s. Now my numbers are 65-140. It’s all natural and much healthier without side effects.
Two pure supplements that I take to REVERSE Neuropathy:
Benfotiamine (B1) 300mg x 3
R-alpha lipoic acid 300mg x 2
The specific forms given above are most bioavailable so the most effective… other forms are ineffective and interfere with recovery.
After much research and comparison for purity of product without unneeded or unwanted ingredients, I recommend the following from Amazon… Order using subscriptions so you receive discounts when ordering items in the same month.
a.co/d/iyRnxKd
Berberine
a.co/d/cX6Rk1Y
Cinnamon
a.co/d/ftxKNCR
R-lipoic acid
a.co/d/ftxKNCR
Benfotiamine
However, it would seem that the combination provided by the nerve doctors working synergistically is actually a better deal than separate items.

Blessings.

Thank you for a very informative video clip. (And you got to the point quickly which is always a blessing!)
I unfortunately did buy ALA R+S (without seeing this first), for possible insulin sensitivity - and will have no problem dumping them if there is no obvious benefit.
So surely the manufacturers must provide some benefits or they'd only have single non-repeated orders?
Even on the synthetic version, I’ve noticed a great improvement with nerve pain and neurogenic cough.. not sure it matters to that extreme

She’ll start it tomorrow and praying with all my might that it makes a difference for her like it did your mom. Blessings to you also! 🙏♥️

Can I ask if the R ALA worked for you?
Thank you
This is great information...I was taking vegan high potency but now I know actually not beneficial but the opposite....thank-you...this is why I constantly educate myself for better health and better informed information such as this presentation.
Hi Garth. EXCELLENT! Good for you for being proactive with your health. Keep up the great work.
Whew, mine is R. But my next purchase will be powder, thanks for drawing my attention to this. The one I have now is only 75 mg per tablet, and has 900 mg ALC, too. 3 tabs per day is suggested.
That's right. The fact this doctor never named the foods high in ALA to get it naturally, speaks volumes.
Thank you so much for this excellent and very important informative presentation . And for all the work you do helping people suffering with health issues.

@@gillianmurphy2111 Still on Neuphoria. I don't think the NP is getting worse which is something. The electrical shocks seemed to have stopped but I still have other major symptoms including pain, numbness, pins and needles, and something like a burning sensation.
@@NerveDoctors thank you so much for the quick response and great videos. 👍🏻
That answered my question too. Does the type of sodium used to stabilize make a difference

@@NerveDoctors May Allah reward you well, Doctor. I follow you from Morocco. Sorry, I don't know English. I rely on google for translation. I took alpha lipoic acid after Dr. Berg talked about it in one of his videos and advised him to take benfotiamine and tocotrionols with him, but he did not advise taking 900 mg. I am from pain strength doubled the amount. I ordered it from iherb and the pain actually stopped and I recovered and the problem came back after six months but this time the disaster happened I forgot to mention I visited the ear specialist after the dose and after the examination found that the ear crystals came out of their place and I lost my balance and after the taming session thank God it improved
Thank you very much, dear madam.
No apologies necessary. Thank you so much for sharing your experience.
Thanks for your post as i was searching R-Ala benefits for eyes
The same day I started high dose ALA 2x600 and in just a few days
I had an incredible improvement and a quick and 100% recovery.
