    Great video, Juan! We are up in Vermont and, for a variety of reasons, have started looking to move to FL. Still waiting on a few things to fall in place with our jobs, but optimistic it could work out 🤞🏻
    Been watching all your videos and are very interested in the Tampa area! Just thinking about living somewhere sunny and warm makes us happy 😅

    I moved here from Chicago last year and my advice would be to find a rental and live here for 6 months between April and October (not just a couple of weeks). The snow birds will be gone so you can get an opportunity to live like the locals. I think it's one thing to say that you live warm weather, but there are 7 months of the year where it is hot and humid (dew point > 70 degrees) every day and how do you deal with it. Hurricane season was also a wake up call. Are you going to live in a zone A or B where you might need to evacuate? Where would you go knowing that all of the hotels are booked? Do you have family/friends in other parts of the state where you could stay? Do you have pets (pet restrictions in Airbnb and hotels) or family member with medical needs that might make an evacuation a challenge?
    Sorry Juan to be so negative, but I think Tampa is definitely a different place from Apr-Oct than during the winter months and one should be fully aware of the challenges that summer brings. Now, time to walk to the beach in my shorts and hoodie to enjoy this great sunny day!

      That is exactly what I told my wife we would do. We currently live in Georgia and would definitely rent a house for a year to see if we would buy there. Great tip!

      Thanks for sharing. I don't think doing diligence is a negative AT ALL btw. Everyone has their own tolerance for risk.

      Yes, I would also love a video showing how to prepare to rent our current house and buy/move into another one at the same time.

      @@trulivingtampa thanks so much. In England we sell in a ‘chain’ and everyone exchanges contracts on the same day and everyone in that chain moves pretty much on the same day. We sold a house in Vegas once and ended up getting caught in a 1 year rental home before we could buy our next home which was literally frustrating. I do have a question though……why do I not see many homes with garden fences? I have 4 dogs and would definitely need to surround my back garden. Regards from Vegas.

    St. Paul Minnesota here. I'm trying hard to move down. Have to postpone the move. My house wouldn't sell in the fall and waiting for spring to put it back on the market.

      @trulivingtampa thank you for sharing your experience, Juan!. My young son and I have been to the Clearwater Beach area a few times and we love it. I dread the winter months in NJ and I feel trapped inside.

    Yeah most of St Petersburg has not been gentrified yet I'm glad you're at least being honest. 2 weeks ago I took a golf cart tour by the pier we went to all the Lakes. He wouldn't go to Lake maggiore he said it was too dangerous..... then I talked to a realtor who said there were many many neighborhoods that were too dangerous. Plus all the flooding and everything why would somebody want to spend a half a million dollars on a fixer upper flipper upper home there. Flooding high rents HOA fees. Home owners insurance crisis. Being rich is the only way to rise above this and if you are rich you'd live in Naples or Miami....West Palm or Boca

      Who's "He?"

    • @trulivingtampa
      @trulivingtampa  วันที่ผ่านมา

      I think we all want to know who “He” is now.🤔
      While there are some unsavory and high-crime areas in St. Pete, just kike every metro, “ too dangerous” is simply hyperbole. But hey, maybe that's the Detroiter on me.
      Spot on with the neighborhoods that flood though, you gotta do your homework everywhere.
