I’m a 44 year old straight dude, but for whatever reason, I’ve always been into interior design. I think because I enjoy creating nice atmospheres. In my 20’s and early 30’s I always had my house looking great. Then I got with a narcissistic chick that wouldn’t let me make a single decision on our home’s interior. After eventually leaving her, I bought a tiny house that my son and I quickly outgrew. It’s impossible to decorate as every square inch is used for storing our overflowing belongings. Now 5 1/2 years later I’ve found the perfect house for us. It’s a very unique, well-built house inside of a shop building that sits on a creek. We close on it in a few weeks. And I’m so excited and kind of tweaking out trying to decide how I’m going to style it. I’ve spent 100% of my free time in the last week browsing Amazon and saving all my favorite things to a list. But unfortunately, when I went back and read reviews on all of these items, people are saying it’s all cheap crap, not what they expected, and poor quality junk. So I don’t know what to do. I definitely don’t have money to blow on junk that’s going to fall apart in a week. But I also don’t have the money to purchase high-quality items. So I feel kind of stuck. Your videos have been nice to watch. I like hearing about the updated ‘rules’ and what not to do. Because I’ve been out of the design game for over a decade. I just wish I knew the best places to purchase decor from without being scared that I’m wasting money. 🤷🏼♂️
awe I'm sorry you had a wife that wouldn't let you "create". It's a tricky dance no? My husband doesn't have much of an opinions, except no "girly girly" aesthetic. I went with early American "good" antiques without any push back from him, I love the earthy historical vibe, he loves the strong masculine vibe. I do have girlfriends where the husband decorates and girlfriends where they decorate. The problem is when they BOTH want to decorate then it's a real battle!!!!
Look at estate sales. There's a lot of good quality out there that's really affordable. Don't think of "estate" as a rich person's mansion. It's usually some regular person selling the contents of mom's home, for whatever reason.
Take it slow, look in second hand stores for things that match your aesthetic. Cheap and sturdy, if it’s in second hand you know it is quality because the crap breaks before it gets inherited.
I second not rushing. Think in terms of the mood you want to create and name the primary function for each space. Have fun slowly finding things that meet your mood and function criteria.
I came here to say the same, if it's yours, you have time. Find your style. Find and inspiration and make a board and collect slowly as you find the items. I suggest room by room...so start easy with your sons room and your room then that'll buy you time until you can tackle your living room.
I live in Japan and I gotta say, Japanese toilets are the best. Not only is there a bidet function, but the control panel attaches to the wall so they're really easy to use. AND the best part is the heated seat! In the winter it's THE BEST THING EVER! I could live on the toilet 😅
I bought the Folex last year after Nick recommended it (we have dogs) and he is NOT kidding. It is better than any stain remover I have ever seen. I would follow Nick's recommendations any time. Thanks Nick!
Love the convenience, dislike Bezos and all he stands for. 😝 It's amazing that you've given up your fabulous fancy coffee maker! I'd be in withdrawals. You'll have to pry my VitaMix outta my cold dead hands, I cook a lot 😂 I'm thinking you're a Hippie at heart; Sandlewood & Patchouli! ✌🏽 Good video #FolexForever
I agree on the Tushie! Bought mine at Costco for less than $300. It has warm water and air dryer- the works! My husband who is a contractor installed it. Best investment ever!!! We saved so much on toilet paper!
If you love your Tushy you should visit Japan! The best toilet I encountered there was in a budget hotel in Kyoto. When you enter the room and put your card in the slot, it starts to warm up the seat. And it can play a tune to disguise your tinkling. 🚽 🇯🇵
How do you know when your tushie is clean enough to dry? A test swipe with toilet paper before drying? Also, is it customary to use it every bathroom visit? Or just for number 2?
The Ninja Creami changed my life. I am not exaggerating. I've had an ice cream "problem" all my life. More addictive than crack. Being able to eat sugar free ice cream with no additives has made sticking to my diet MUCH easier.
I used to boil water in a kettle on the stove each time for tea or pour over coffee until my daughter's friend decided that I needed an electric kettle. No questions asked. He was here for breakfast one morning and 2 days later I received an electric kettle of my own!! I thank him each time I use it! (PS-- you are SO right about microwaved hot water. Ugh!)
I use a waterproof camping lantern in the shower at night. I’m neurodivergent (ADHD) and light sensitive. The only room in my house I consistently use overhead lighting in is the kitchen. A standard sized lamp doesn’t give enough light to light my shower from the outside and my bathroom is small. I love my little lantern. I use its built-in clip to hang it on my shower storage. P.S. This American had never heard that Americans don’t have kettles until I heard British people mention it online. Everyone I know has a kettle and grew up with one (I’ve asked about it out of curiosity). I guess a lot of Americans do microwave their water, but it’s as weird to a lot of other Americans as it is to Canadians and the British. I was floored when I first heard about it. (Edited for typos]
I don’t like overhead lights the only light I like over me is from the sun. In my bathroom, I have a Himalayan salt nightlight that gives my bathroom a nice warm glow. I shower with the lights off and I also have my shower curtain hung close to the ceiling. So my shower is very cozy and relaxing. I do light the idea of the little lamp. I also have never seen an American boiling water in a microwave. Either a pot or kettle. I don’t even use a microwave. I warm things in the oven or stovetop and I have a mini crockpot to warm food at work.
Last Christmas I bought a couple of the Surpus Electric Lighters as stocking stuffers as per Nick's recommendation. We had a massive storm on Christmas Day, and when one of my sons got home, they had no electricity, and he said the lighter was the most useful present they got as they could light candles with no fuss! A+ recommendation! 🎄
My father in law, British. And in the 1980’s he could find no cozy’s, no kettles. Boy was he disappointed - eternally. I mean, he was British after all. We have a wonderful tea kettle and we warm our cups with hot water first, let the tea steep exactly 3 minutes. He would have it no other way ❤
Folex is amazing. I was dog-sitting once, and that poor, full-size poodle was nervous to be left without her people and... had "anxious bowels" all over light grey carpet. Folex made shockingly short work of a very big mess. I'll never use a different carpet cleaner. And the Tushy is awesome - easy to install and definitely does what it needs to. I lived in Brazil for a while and learned to love a good bidet, and Tushy makes it really easy. You do have to remove it from the toilet every now and then to really clean everything, but it's worth it!
Your videos usually inspire me in one way or another, and this one is no exception. I have had my Vitamix since 1978 (the base is steel and the pitcher is real glass) and it still works great. It's very powerful. BUT, it's huge, it's ugly , it's hard to clean, and I rarely use it anymore. So I'm donating it and going for a more modern , more attractive one. Not sure it will be the the Beast Blender. I just appreciate your waking me as to what I really need. Thanks!
My daughter lives in Scotland and when she visited and requested tea, I microwaved the water. She's returning for Thanksgiving, so I finally purchased an electric kettle. It's more cost effective, but your product is much more aesthetically pleasing.
I've always been hesitant of any "as seen on tv" type of products. BUT the Scrub Daddy (and related spin-off products) is hands down a MUST buy. You can use it for cleaning dishes, of course, but it works to clean pretty much any surface you can think of. Good pick.
I LOVE the Tushy. It was so easy to install, and it easily improves hygiene and comfort. Definitely a great affordable way to get this every day luxury! 🤟🏼
I grew up drinking tea and swear by kettles. RN I have a Govee which is Bluetooth (so u can start it from bed) that I got on Amazon, it’s amazing. The only thing missing is digital settings…this Govee is so very good.
American born. Polish family. We all drink tea. My completely unscientific survey indicates that Americans of Irish, Polish, or recent English descent drink decent tea made from boiling water. Savages drink Lipton tea made with microwaved water.
I’ve had my electric kettle for 15 years - since a month-long trip to New Zealand! I love it - I’m a tea drinker here too! Try Constant Comment (Bigelow) black tea. My grandmother used to drink it before tea bags…!😊
I love you, Nick and … my daughter got me the rechargeable lighter last year for Christmas - that thing is THE BEST! Thank you for your content AND for your snappy sense of humor. Thank you and Season’s Greetings!
Team bidet for sure. I got one that has the seat attached and I really like it, even though I didnt want to give up my wooden toilet seat. Do recommend. ❤
Nick - your attitude is everything! The "love me or leave me" is great!!! Thanks for your 2024 finds; will be checking out a few!! Have a blessed day!! xxoo
11:58 yes, I agree 100% with your opinion! After a trip in Japan I felt like a dirty human, so I needed to install a bidet function in my toilet. So I did it like you. I don't understand, why "butt shower" isn't established. This is so hygienic. Greetings from Germany!
I have that exact Cosori air fryer, and it has changed my life! I use it nearly every day, mostly for chicken and chalupa type dishes. It was ony $99US when I bought it, as I wasn't sure about air frying's viability for me, but it is great. I live alone, so it is just big enough for me, gets the job done - I can have a whole meal prepped and mostly cooked in the same time it takes my big oven to preheat. Thanks!
I caved and bought the Beast blender even though I had a Ninja and I absolutely love it. I make smoothies every day and the Beast looks 1000% better on my counter than the Ninja did. It works just as well but is quieter and doesn't take up so much space in my tiny kitchen. Highly recommend.
Grew up using a stovetop tea kettle, preferably with a whistle. I did resort to microwaving water for in a glass 19:05 for a while, right up until the night I opened the microwave door , the glass shattered and boiling water hit my stomach, literally stripping off skin. I love my electric kettle.
Came across your vid 1st time. I like your style. I like genuine, blunt, honest people and at 60 I can tell who is full of sheet and who isn’t. I bought 2 items from your vid that I didn’t know about so thank you Sir. Carry on.❤
Great video! The only thing I'd caution others against is the Beast blender. I have one - swayed mostly by its aesthetics, to be honest - and while it blends very well, it suffers from having a gasket in the blending unit that traps liquid. Although the cleaning instructions say not to remove it, failing to do so can cause the unit to smell due to the trapped residue from past blends. I noticed this a few weeks after getting my own. And unfortunately because of how it's designed, it's incredibly difficult to remove. You can find lots of videos about this online, so buyer beware of that design flaw.
Nick, thank you for making your products easy to find! With some content creators, you have to spend 10 minutes clicking through various links to find the item.
Rest assured, Nick, there are those of us in the U.S. who do indeed know better than to heat our tea water in the microwave. I was taught to use the stove top kettle for hot tea by my mother and had my own as soon as I moved into my own place. Still have that old metal kettle, though I now use an electric one for daily tea and all other hot-water needs. Got my boyfriend fully on board the kettle and tea pot train as well!
Hey! I was curious about the lamp as well. He left the link in the description of this video. Its the Crate & Barrel - Allegra Rattan and Linen Task Floor Lamp by Jake Arnold
Thank you Nick for your recommends. You are very enjoyable to watch and always are amusing. I would highly recommend a bidet. Bidets are great for the disabled as well. For those who can't reach "down there" very well or at all. I could not live without one. Soooo worth it.
Love the annual Amazon video, the commentary is perfection & there's usually at least one thing I want. That kettle is beautiful! I have a cheap stovetop kettle but I've been looking at electric kettles & trying to decide whether to go cheap & basic or bougie (definitely leaning bougie now). Of course I'm going to sing the praises of Folex (again!), lol... Literally used it this morning to clean up after my sick toddler puked on the carpet. Absolutely love Folex, I've been using & recommending it for over 20 years.

I LOVE you for recommending the Hero Mighty Patches. They work really well, and I've bought them twice already. I never, ever thought I'd have an influencer, but besides these patches, I also bought three Vitruvi Cloud humidifiers and three Stone diffusers. You've got great taste, and I trust you. I do have my own mind and tastes, but you've shown products I may not have seen otherwise, and they're wonderful!
Love the electric kettle! It heats up while I get ready for work in the office and ready to use, plus you can choose the temperature at which it heats. Love that!
I LOVE Fellow's matte black coffee setups! The Staag kettle (or rather the whole set, including the grinder and all the other lovely stuff) is still on my wish list. I got the Clara French press from them already and it's the best I ever had. Not a cheap brand but sooo worth it imo, especially since you can get sets with matching handles, etc and that's just SO pleasing for the eye.
Thank you, Nick, for finding the best color for my bedroom. :) I have watched your video about colors of the 20024, and fell in love with Blue Nova. Now I have a wall in my bedroom in a perfect purplish shade of blue. Thank you!
I have that Lulu candle, at first it gave me a headache, but then that went away. The scent is super strong if you're looking for something more subtle, but if you want something strong it's great
I got the Rolex, the lighter, and the pill remover last year and up Im still obsessed. I love scrub mommy sponges. They are the best. Amazon sells speciaty holders for them that are very practical. My favorite amazon purchase last year were electronic tapered candles to go into all of my candle holders. Last year I bought a box of ivory. This year I’m going for red. It is a great addition to the ambient lighting and they flicker.

Love your presentation. Sarcastic, funny, humble and informative. Great commercial combo!!!
Love your painfully honest disclaimer at the beginning. 💕 standing ovation 👏🏻
I bought the Folex last year after Nick recommended it (we have dogs) and he is NOT kidding. It is better than any stain remover I have ever seen. I would follow Nick's recommendations any time. Thanks Nick!
Love the convenience, dislike Bezos and all he stands for. 😝
It's amazing that you've given up your fabulous fancy coffee maker! I'd be in withdrawals. You'll have to pry my VitaMix outta my cold dead hands, I cook a lot 😂
I'm thinking you're a Hippie at heart; Sandlewood & Patchouli! ✌🏽
Good video #FolexForever
Coffee was just giving me too many headaches! Had to give it up.
@@Nick_Lewis😢
@@Nick_Lewis That's so sad, I'm glad you chose your health over the fleeting pleasure of a good cuppa. 🤗
Many Americans use a kettle on the stove top to heat and boil water. I can't justify using counter space even for Nick's gorgeous electric kettle!
I used to do that, but opted for electric due to the auto shutoff safety benefit. Plus, it heats the water much more quickly.
@@brassgal5039so fast! I use my on the regular. It just stays in one spot on the counter.
I did. Best decision ever. Looks beautiful, and i use it daily.
Last Christmas I gave everyone your Lulu candle and rechargeable lighter. Everyone loved them!
But how much water do you use? I’m on a well.
I really respect your integrity in explaining how this all works. One of the many reasons I'm a fan of your work.
I see a lot of amazon fave videos this time of year but not many that make me laugh out loud. Thank you, Nick.
Ugh!)
You’re really good at this. There’s no shortage of product reviewers on YT but you’ve got great energy and authenticity. Well done 👍
I don't even and wont even shop Amazon, but I see Nick and I click!
Gave up coffee! One of the moments in life that is proof that everything changes. Good for you Nick
I love my electric kettle, for pour over coffee, zero plastic.
Thanks! We love your real honest personality and truths.
OMG…a Toto Washlet is sheer heaven! don’t know about the Tushy, but the Toto. Wow! And watch South Park’s episode about this!😂
That disclosure alone gets a like
Your videos usually inspire me in one way or another, and this one is no exception. Thanks!
I’m certain I’ve bought at least 20 of the Lulu candles. They’ve been the best find for me of all the items you’ve recommended. Perfect scent.
I was going to try them out, but at AUD$50.00 each, that's a bit much for a candle for my budget.
Having breakfast with nick, and straight to Amazon after.😊
I'm Canadian. And I camp. And I own an electric kettle that I use everyday. You are awesome, Nick even if you don't go camping.
Good pick.
1:27 this is both chaotic and fantastic
American here, tea drinker, I've never not had a kettle! Maybe it's more of a Southern thing? Everyone I know has a kettle. Love your videos!😊
Me a southerner with an electric kettle. 😅.... but a drink my tea hot and unsweetened, so I'm a poor example.
16:19 beautiful 💚 hopefully we can have a tour of Nick’s new place when it’s all finished😄
I LOVE the Tushy. It was so easy to install, and it easily improves hygiene and comfort. Definitely a great affordable way to get this every day luxury! 🤟🏼
8:38 not all Americans are kettle-less!
I have a kettle, but only after having lived in London.
😂😂😂
I grew up drinking tea and swear by kettles. RN I have a Govee which is Bluetooth (so u can start it from bed) that I got on Amazon, it’s amazing. The only thing missing is digital settings…this Govee is so very good.
American born. Polish family. We all drink tea. My completely unscientific survey indicates that Americans of Irish, Polish, or recent English descent drink decent tea made from boiling water. Savages drink Lipton tea made with microwaved water.
My sister got everyone a tushy for Christmas 2020....it's the best gift I've ever received!!! Will never be without it
I’ve had my electric kettle for 15 years - since a month-long trip to New Zealand!
You are like a sweet but sassy indoor cat, Nick! We love ya! 🎉❤🎉 Great fun video of cool products!
Been using fabric shavers for YEARS! smooths out so many items 👍
American here. I have a kettle. A couple! Always have had one in my kitchen.
Love your channel. ❤
Came across your vid 1st time. I like your style. I like genuine, blunt, honest people and at 60 I can tell who is full of sheet and who isn’t. I bought 2 items from your vid that I didn’t know about so thank you Sir. Carry on.❤
American here. Electric kettle for everything. Pour over coffee and afternoon tea.
American here - no microwaving water. Use a tea kettle on the stovetop.
And I cannot live without my Tushy!!!
Nick, thank you for making your products easy to find! With some content creators, you have to spend 10 minutes clicking through various links to find the item.
Have a Tushy with hot water. Life-changing.
Hi Nick!! Love your content!! The floor lamp over your left shoulder (with you facing the camera) can you share where it is from???
Hey! I was curious about the lamp as well. He left the link in the description of this video. Its the Crate & Barrel - Allegra Rattan and Linen Task Floor Lamp by Jake Arnold
Yup! Link is in the description. Crate and Barrel.
@@Nick_Lewis Thank you! I quit Instagram after the election and now I have to get my fix here!
Thank you Nick for your recommends. You are very enjoyable to watch and always are amusing. I would highly recommend a bidet. Bidets are great for the disabled as well. For those who can't reach "down there" very well or at all. I could not live without one. Soooo worth it.
American here!! I use a kettle for tea not the microwave!!😂😅
I'm Canadian, a coffee-drinker, and my kettle is still used multiple times per day!
As a guy who also love appliances OMG I think I need that Ninji. I have been avoiding it.....and we are similar! I am a bad Canadian too! Did I hear right ball hair LOL, love it
I think you heard correctly
I LOVE you for recommending the Hero Mighty Patches. They work really well, and I've bought them twice already. I never, ever thought I'd have an influencer, but besides these patches, I also bought three Vitruvi Cloud humidifiers and three Stone diffusers. You've got great taste, and I trust you. I do have my own mind and tastes, but you've shown products I may not have seen otherwise, and they're wonderful!
I love my kettle. I use it for pour over coffee and tea. Or any hot drink. Or oatmeal!
I absolutely love your delivery in these videos. You call it as you see it ❤
I'm only 30 seconds in, and I'm smashing the like button. I ride the same wavelength as Nick but could never get away with the things he says 😂
The scent is super strong if you're looking for something more subtle, but if you want something strong it's great
Agreed and the floral notes are a bit more prominent than I usually like but it is a nice candle.
Love your humor Nick! Never change! 😂❤
I and my family are in USA and we all have electric kettles, even my grandkids. We love love love our kettles❤
as you should, civilization starts and ends with owning a kettle
I think I've watched every video of Nick's for the last 2 years...at least.
We've been building our home for 3 years.... dont ask - it's an annoying story... but thank God I've had time to learn so much from this channel. So our home will be "Us" & classy.
Now I need Yard advice! Is there a "Nick outside" channel? 😅 ❤
Very thankful for Nick and adore his humor!
I'm also on year 3 of a new build, I feel your pain. And I've been watching Nick and other home videos, what will I do with my time once it is complete 🙃
We won’t get an “ outside Nick” as he revealed he’s an indoor cat 😂
I enjoyed your disclosure rant at the beginning, very nicely done 😄
Thank you for your efforts to share all of the info and the links - very professional and useful.
That is a gorgeous kettle. If I had miles of counter space I would own that thing in minutes.
