Ducati has a recall/ exchange program for the rear brake and brake lines of the Monster 821 models from 2014 to 2016. Did you check? My Monster was serviced free of charge by Ducati Berlin, and they replaced everything for free. Now it works as intended.

Just checked and number of affected vehicles is 152 in UK, I guess you are right on this and mine falls into this category. Thank you
