    My daughter introduced me to Pilates when I was 44 because I had 15 pounds I just couldn’t shed and was thinking about a tummy tuck. I had been trying to lose that weight for a few years and within six months I dropped more than 20 pounds and went back to my beautiful maintenance weight. It’s amazing! I then started incorporating yoga and I enjoy both. I’ll be doing it for the rest of my life.

      Hi May I ask if you started Pilates on mat? Did you do it at home or in person with a Pilates instructor? Thank you in advance.

    Loved your message! I started Pilates in Feb 2023, once a week, and I notice I am more aware of my body, and posture which helps to be mindful of my posture and correct it, especially, sitting in the office for long periods.

    My goal was to find a work out routine I would be consistent with as Pilates was it! Second goal was to find something that wasn’t boring and challenging and Pilates was it! Third goal was to work every single part of my body and Pilates does just this. Next goal was to build core strength and Pilates has helped so much with my core strength and posture. Losing weight was the last thing on my goal list. I love and enjoy reformer Pilates 3x week

    This is exactly what I need to hear. I’ve been experiencing lower back and hip pain for several years and have finally discovered it is because of weak glutes and core. But they are so weak I cannot manage very much, but this has encouraged me that 5-10 mins daily WILL help. Thank you

    This is so true, focusing on the differences you feel is such a good motivator. I found myself noticing things outside of class that would have been hard becoming easier and it was such a boost to my confidence and my motivation to keep going! I have noticed physical changes too which ironically are what I first started for but now find i'm less focused on them or motivated by them because i'm focusing on how I feel rather than look.

    I have a rheumatic illness which makes exercise painful. I really want to strengthen up. I've been doing yoga for years and love it for keeping me flexible but want to incorporate strength training. Which type of pilates would be good to go next level 💕

    • @noellerobertsstudio
      @noellerobertsstudio  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      First of all, it's so impressive that you've kept up yoga while also dealing with this painful illness. Way to go! As far as which type of Pilates I would highly recommend starting with a certified Pilates instructor one-on-one. They can learn your body and any restrictions/limitations your dealing with and customize exercises to not only ease your body's discomfort but also build strength, balance and stability. Cheering you on and please feel free to send any more questions my way- you can reach me directly through my website at www.noellerobertsstudio.com.

    Can you explain about changes and impact when moving from weightlifting into pilates? I feel everyone talks about people going from 0 to pilates, but what about already fit people leaning towards pilates? Thanks!!

    • @noellerobertsstudio
      @noellerobertsstudio  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question! What I’ve noticed with clients that have come from the weight lifting space is that they actually get a lot more precision with their execution of movement and learn to feel/fire the smaller stabilizers as well as the global movers. Plus there’s the added benefit of more mobility with a regular Pilates routine! I think the two practices really go hand-in-hand and are a beautiful compliment to each other.

    Hi there,
    I do pilates on the reformer. Do you think i can do thuis evers day or is it better to have a restday in between?

    • @noellerobertsstudio
      @noellerobertsstudio  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Pilates is gentle enough to do every day due to it being low impact. That said, be sure to listen to your body and rest when needed- just because it’s gentle on your joints doesn’t mean you won’t get sore and fatigue muscle. 💪

      @@noellerobertsstudio I'm so glad to hear that! The moves in Pilates are balanced as to why I prefer doing Pilates more than any exercise really. Before, my walking is a bit unbalanced now I can feel it aligning, and hiit is effective for a workout. 🤓
