LOL! "I got high in that bus" HAHA! Man, what a great series with David. One hell of a trip down memory lane in the hay day of Nascar and it's explosive growth and popularity. Now teasing about the best "gray area engineering" at the end, now there would be some great stories. I love seeing some of these old pros talk about the old days and the things they did and got away with or even chickened out and didn't try it. Fooling the inspectors~ Those are great old tales that really give you some "AHA" moments when you look back to when. David was a great story teller, just awesome.
You can help me I'll pay you. Gonna put a Ford aluminum DOHC V6 in a 41 Plymouth and a couple other projects with SHO engines. Ive collected many Ford SHO and DOHC engines I can make power without spending a bunch of $$$ on these engines.
Thanks for the video. Your interviews always go by quickly because they are so entertaining. I love listening to these guys tell stories. I wish the newer fans of NASCAR understood what these guys meant to the sport. Thanks again!
this is the second time i have watched this series with David. you got to go back and get some more. i think he's got another 2 or 3 videos worth of history to share!
Wow! What a cool story. I was at the 1980 Ontario race ( which was the very last race at Ontario) and watched Benny win the L. A. Times 500. I lived in Carson Calif. until my Wife and I moved to Winston Salem NC summer of 97' 1980 was the year I graduated HS. We use to camp in the infield at the esses at Riverside and went to Phoenix International for the Cup races until we moved to NC. But to hear that story of all you knuckleheads 😂 getting in trouble in Mexico before the race and then going and winning it is just some very cool history. BTW... When you go to Mexico to party you always keep your real money hidden and keep money on you to pay off a Federally ( Policia) Again Thank You all for such a great interview. God Bless you all. ;0)
Listening to all the old stories that you guys present to us from all the good old boys is a real yreat thats why I used to watch a lot of racing . Now days I have lost interest it has become a business and the racers are a bunch of rich guys crying when they get a little bump in the ass on the race track back in the day it was a lot more fun and interesting todays racing sucks long live the real racers

God bless the old school and the teachings they brought us youngins. Firm, fair, full of fault but pure right. Righteously
Fantastic, I don't think you can get any better than this!!
David, I'm a younger guy who loves the old cars and history. I would be honored to help you work on your old cars.

Great guys. Love these stories.
You got to get Pete Peterson if he is still alive.
"I could get 120-140 pounds out of the car before he ever got in it " 😁😁😁
Love this show!
But the sound quality needs improvement!
We've finally figured out the sound issues. Each episode is now remastered to give it the best quality possible.
