I was lucky enough to build his house , he talks about his daughter alot I was there last week , he showed me what he was working on in his shop , real cool family
I have not watched the video yet, just saw the tittle...Ifft, w/BM and w/DiGR. My Ifft story is 1990's and 2000's with Bown Racing and Rensi Racing. David Ifft is a hard nosed take no prisoners' get it done Car/crew chief. If a competitor needed help thou, in later years, he gave it. Yea! maybe late in his career he softened a touch, But! he helped all rise to the occasion. That is how I remember David Ifft...Just so you all know...He is a hard nosed racer with a soft spot for the underfinanced...TY David, ill never forget the 360 RG you loaned us and helped us pay for out trip to Rockingham... You are a good person DI...hope this video validates your great reputation with us all... TY TSV...
Thanks guys, another great interview. I think it's people like Mr. Ifft that made NASCAR what it was back when it was the people's sport. This channel is the best!
The first time I ever heard of David Ifft he was crew chief for Benny Parsons on the No. 27 car and then Cale when Cale left Junior to run a limited Schedule and when Cale went to Harry Rainer with Waddell Wilson as crew chief Rainer hired David to help with the setup. I’ve always had a ton of respect for David.
Rick and Steve. Really enjoying this . Hearing David ifft. Talking about m.c Anderson and my uncle Sam sommers. Now you need to get uncle sam on here to find out the other side of story.
Yeah David Ifft is undoubtedly one 1⃣ of the pioneers of early days Nascar and another one of the great story tellers of Nascar and would probably one person to check with whenever a documentary about Nascar
I went to test at carolina speedway dirt track when david was running it, and when i asked how much i owed him, he said just bring a case a beer when you come back to race, great guy that will help anybody tryin to race. True racer from the heart
Somebody should do a show just about the racing history in Spartanburg. Between David Pearson Bud Moore and Cotton Owens that's worth a couple hours alone!
They worked out of Roberts little shop for a while maybe how Robert got his shop? Idk alot happened in a little while. Im surprised Robert Gee didn't beat diehards azzez. All crocks robbed bobby Allison of literally everything. He owned in a crappy contract. Robert knew the car and the body how to work the air. He didn't need a wind tunnel. He could listen to car making laps. If it made too much body noise he knew he had work to do if Earnhardt could see wind Robert could hear it 😂 man was the rainman of airflow.
David Ifft NASCAR Winston Cup Series Crew Chief From 1975 To 1993 Thanks For Uploading Rick And Steve
Mr. David is such a nice, down-to-earth man. His daughter and I have been friends since we were 12. Such a great family!

Always liked David Ifft. A very good crew chief. Thanks Rick and Steve.
David Ifft is still as sharp as a tack. I think he enjoyed telling us his story.

These interviews should be required for aspiring journalist, you know real journalist who listen , not narrative creators like today.
Would love to know what would have been if he would have given 100% to Sam Sommers.
Didn't think Ford was active in these years with factory backing 🤔
It was common in the 60’s and 70’s for manufacturers to back race teams under the radar.
