The best story teller in NASCAR history. I've learned more about the real NASCAR by listening to guys like Jimmy Spencer and Dave Marcis than any of the stars Imagine what you would be hearing if Sr. was still alive. I think his personality was made for a pod cast
Jimmy Spencer was one of the great drivers in NASCAR like he said he just made some bad decisions I could listen to him for hours telling stories about NASCAR I used to work for Pete BAb the stores he had someone told me he worked for NASCAR the long then enone
I like him and all but you should be be at least by dominant in some area -for example, Mike Waltrip and his NAPA Toyotas were the most prolific cheaters for a couple of yrs-
@Scrubber Slave cause he won a nascar modified races and championships before he went cup racing. Its the nascar hall of fame. Not the cup hall of fame. He won in every division nascar has. Modifieds, trucks, xfinity and Cup. He also won in nascar north series too. He also had a career in broadcasting after his driving days were over..
@Scrubber Slave he won at Daytona for junior Johnson driving 27 ford McDonald's in 95 raced Ernie irvan 28 havoline to a last lap pass never touched him.
Actually he won 2, Dega and Daytona 94. Won a Winston Open or two as well. Based off his Cup career, no, he shouldn't make it, and he was my favorite driver. But his combined career, including back to back Modified 'chips, probably puts him in consideration.
Jimmy Spencer is a awesome driver and I have some great memories of his exploits... myrtle Beach he showed up at that race in the 34 car and we only had 2 left side tires left to sell and he got em and won the race!!! Also him and Reggie at New samarna Speedway in 87 or 88... that was awesome!!!
Great! Steve that's the best job of interviewing I've ever seen. Spencer is like heard cats so, you let him go and just nudged back on topic as little as possible. Perfect! Only someone knowing this sport and personalities that made it could have done that. As Jimmy would say great f****** job.
Jimmy Spencer has more heart than 100 men. When I saw Kurt Busch call Jimmy a has been and a never was, I wanted to reach through the TV and choke Kurt. Never liked Kurt after that, still don't. But Jimmy endured himself to me, never forgot that.
One of my only job interviews in NASCAR was with Jimmy at his Hooter's Pro Cup shop. The interview was short and pretty harsh. But man he told me about life for about 10 minutes. Great dude and times.
I meat Jimmy when he was driving for Bobby Allison he is a decent guy. I was in the pits and Bobby and my dad were partners in Bobby Allison wireless so I was hanging out with the team And Jimmy.
Smokey always had a good word for big Bill. If you believe that I can give you a great deal on a Bridge. I remember seeing you guys run all over NYS. Mr.excitement for sure but you forgot Jimmy Shampine when you mentioned the greats.
Brian France was the worst thing that ever happened to NASCAR. He successfully ran the sport/series into the ground, after he took it at its height of popularity and revenue. Couldn't stand him then or now. Jimmy, a great story teller. The very thing missing in the sport today, PERSONALITY. Now all we have is spoiled brat seat jockeys.
Jimmy 's Mom and Dad sound like good people - i live in the country - logging is a tough way to make a livin - you gotta be tough - and those Junk Yard Dogs are great - never met one i didnt like - ( of couse they knew i was a friend not a thief - they know)
I remember watching some interviews after the race and he’d explain what happened and people would call him a winer but I didn’t see it that way. Pa drivers for the Win!!!

He was the John Daly of NASCAR. It was fun when Mr. Excitement and The Intimidator were active.
The best story teller in NASCAR history.

You're a class act guy Jimmy! And one heck of a driver! 🏁🏆(my dad Vic Kangas was crew chief for you in 1995)💗
This brought back a lot of memories from Thompson Conn. Wish the modifieds good time back in the 80s
Jimmy Spencer, that's one of the best podcast I have ever seen of a race driver. I really miss that era of Nascar, thanks guys.

If Reggie and Mike are in - Then yeah Jimmy should be in based on his Modified Career it’s not just about The Cup Series

Awesome stories. Stark contrast to the modern 20 year old kid driving nascar.... "My dad paid the car owner $2mm and I got the job!!!"
I love Jimmy, one hell of a guy and a racer
Jimmy Spencer nickname known as Mr excitement Jimmy was cool cat ☺️
Nascar should hire Spencer as their competition director. That would go over well
Love Jimmy man was one hell of a racer

Yes ....When Dale Earnhardt asks you to Drive his Car...it's Not a question...It's a Demand... OMG...DO YOU REALIZE WHAT AN HONOR THAT IS???...
I remember watching some interviews after the race and he’d explain what happened and people would call him a winer but I didn’t see it that way. Pa drivers for the Win!!!
