I'm handicapped and ride the mobility scooters in stores. It's hard to open doors of coolers. I was trying and a sweet child asked if he could help. Yes I said and told her what I needed she helped me all thru the coolers. In the end I thanked her and turned to mother and complimented on how helpful she was. The mother told me she used to help her grandmother like that and she lost her a few weeks earlier. She said I made the little girl happy to be able to help another grandmother.
My father was ex military. When he got out of the army and started working at the border, one of his work colleagues tried to grab him from behind as a joke after my dad had seriously warned all of them NEVER to do that to him because he was drilled to react on reflex. Well this idiot grabs dad and promptly got elbowed in the gut, stomped on the foot and pulled over my dad’s shoulder and dropped to the ground on his back, knocking the wind out of him. I think dad broke his arm. Dude started cussing up a storm and calling my dad crazy. Dad told him he was lucky he was only injured and not dead. He had been warned and didn’t take it seriously.
"LOL" is for "little old lady". I was laughing so hard at the absolutely wholesome innocence of those stories. The joy-seeking ballerina, and the darlings with the hearing issues in the last story. Bless them.
Where I live, we have police designated to parking patrol as there are many places to park downtown. I had the chance to ask one of them about fake parking tickets once cause I've gotten said fake ticket when I first starting driving on my own. They said that it's considered a misdemeanor or felony depending on frequency or something similar
These ppl anger me so much, I've seen videos of ppl calling themselves Cart Narcs the things those people do are sickening they act like a polite tone & sweet voices excuse them for harassing ppl to tears
She is lucky it wasn't that level, we all know that there are some vets or people with PTSD that would snap back into the situation that caused the PTSD and would annihilate her without a thought.
Yep. As soon as I start throwing expletives out and roasting someone like a Comedy Central comedian, they realize that I have served in the military. People don't realize: veterans aren't to be messed with, especially those who have severe anxiety and PTSD
Depends on the veteran. Navy: “ooh! We goin to dinner?!” CG: “hey I really don’t like that.” AF: “hey! Don’t touch me with your unsanitary hands!” Army: “you just f-ked up.” Marines: “Congratulations, you just won a lifetime supply of war crimes!”
Why do people automatically think that everyone has their mindset. Like we all are not self-absorbed narcissistic assholes like them. Many of us are decent human beings and some of us have quarks.
My son is 6'3" and just a few days ago a lady asked him to reach something on a top shelf at the grocery store. The lady was old enough to be his grandma and my heart just beamed with pride at the kindness my son showed to a stranger.
1st story: Courtesy is a dying action 2nd story: If the "employee" isn't wearing the store's uniform, THEY DON'T WORK THERE. If they work there but not currently wearing the uniform, THEY DON'T WORK THERE YET. If the employee is in the parking lot and is HOLDING their uniform THEY DON'T WORK THERE YET 3rd story: Rent-A-Cop must not be a real security guard if he's using cinder blocks 4th story: Why do karens just automatically assume that some random person in a store is an employee?
2nd story, since that wasn't her 1st offense, she's either really entitled and thinks EVERYONE is below her or/and extremely dumb. I think she started to panic as she realized that she is going to jail and is getting charges pressed against her this time. But because she fought and resisted arrest she made it so much worse on herself.
100% don't resist. Even if the arrest is illegal, it's better to let your lawyer handle that than to have other charges added that they might not be able to fight. Also if you resist they WILL use force.
@@Giratina575 especially since the cop won't do as she demands, believe their lies, and then arrest them and not the person they demand should be arrested.
Story 2: Love it when stories end with Karen being cuffed and stuffed. Understand completely straightening the shelves. 47 years after I last worked at a grocery store, I still feel the need to block-and-face the shelf, at least the products I just took one of.
Common courtesy, it helps. I do it sometimes but I hate when people would put the frozen or refrigerated item they decided they don't want on the shelves and end up letting it be wasted.
The last story was so sweet. With all of the negativity in this world, the old ladies innocence was priceless. Thank you for sharing that story. Now, the woman that assaulted the veteran in the store, shame on her. I admit some stores do hire handicapped, but that does not give anybody the right to put their hands on anybody at any time. And I just want to say, Sir, thank you for your service. The parking garage wantabe police. I hope the hospital takes his golf cart and chains it somewhere with cinder blocks. That man has no right putting his hands on another person's vehicle. And if he is too stupid to understand the words " I don't work here" , then the hospital needs to make sure he doesn't work there either.
1st story: I, at one time in my life, was working both as a Home Health Aide and a Computer Science tutor. I was at a store one day when I was asked to grab something from a top shelf by an elderly man. I didn't even think about it and just got it for the man, but after I was done he turned to me and said "I know you don't work here, but I saw your shirt and thought you'd be helpful, thank you." See, when I started work as the CSCI tutor, I had found and bought a tee-shirt with the text "Let me drop everything and help you with your problem" on it. It was supposed to be sarcastic, but I thought it was funny at the time given both of my jobs involved helping people. I had forgotten I was wearing it at the time and it gave me a good chuckle.
"I'd like to buy two internets" Omfg help. That was a really sweat sounding conversation, but I don't think many could have survived without laughing at it
I was hoping both would gotten into a longer conversation that lead to one asking is this the right number then both laughing and perhaps starting a friendship
Story 2 + 3: Didn't elementary school teach people to NOT put their hands on other people like that? Like, not only would this make sure they *don't* help you, but as Fluff said, they could do the same thing to you, and you've got nobody to legitimately blame but yourself.
Elementary school?! How about learning it at home! To answer the question ..... at no time during the 12 years I attended public schools was it ever discussed let alone mentioned. It simply was not necessary because we learned it at home.
We certainly teach it now as part of state mandated social emotional development. Unfortunately, when children are being raised by Karens, they are taught at home that they are entitled to everything and Karens usually lack the emotional development required to elicit change.
I get asked to grab stuff off the top shelf all the time. Nearly every day, in fact. I am married to a woman who is only 4'6" tall. That means I get to reach everything off the top shelves at our house, too. I am always happy to help others who have trouble reaching stuff.
I'm not tall (5'10") but I'm always happy to help someone reach a product from high shelf - it's just called helping out a fellow human being. The funniest episode was about 2008. I was coming down a lane in the grocery store I used to work at and there were two very old, very short women trying to get some tins of cat food from the top shelf. One was trying to climb the shelves while the other was trying to boost her up. I ran up and "ordered" them off the shelves, saying that it was extremely dangerous then, in my swet customer service voice, asked them what they wanted and reached it for them. They were thankful for my help and I asked them to ask for assistance next time. One of them said something like, "I'm glad they have good workers like you." I didn't bother to correct them, just wished them a good day. I just couldn't have it on my conscience if one or both got seriously injured or died because they were too stubborn to realize their limitations (old age, not height).
@@murraystewartj I use my cane a lot to drag things closer so I can grab it. One time I was doing this and a guy reached over my head and grabbed it for me and asked if I needed any more. I was so thankful. It was gatorade and I've gotten pretty good at dragging it off the shelf with my cane and catching it when if falls.
Reminds me of my 4'11" grandmother when we went shopping. She told me to split up so we can get the shopping done faster. Well I should stay nearby because she couldn't reach the milk and a taller man got it for her. For clarification I'm 5'8" and my dad is 5'11". The tall genes are from my dad's paternal side.
@@Yumi_Jay My son is 6'5". If I could get him to go shopping with me I wouldn't have a problem reaching anything, but he hates shopping more than I do. I'm 5'5" and his dad was 5'9" no idea where his height came from. Although I have cousins that are almost 7 feet tall, so I guess it came from my side.
First story: I understand when someone ask you to get something he can't from a high shelf, that's understandable, but accordingly to the reddit stories if after that they ask for more you can excuse yourself while being polite if it disturb your squedule. A Karen directly orders you to take it down, even getting to the point of touching you.
I am too awkward to ask so will do the jump and tippy toe thing knowing it won't work and even if I wanted two of the item I just say one because I find it rude to ask for a non-employee help and the employee is your height and the only one in the section does not help matters
Yeah it's about politeness, if someone askes politely then just get it for them and move on, if they are rude then feel free to walk away or be rude back. Treat others how you want to be treated and all that.
If I'm out shopping and see someone who may need help, I ask them if I could help them even though I don't work there, especially if there's no actual employees in that area.
The parking garage story: should’ve called the head of security directly and tell them if OP was harassed again by the security guard, police would be called
I'm short and often politely ask taller shoppers to help. I've never had a problem. Usually they just laugh and help me. I always thank them profusely.
Fourth Story: (old story, but still good) Once PD (idiot) started writing "Parking Tickets", OP should have gotten whoever is in charge of the project to contact the person who is the Hospital's Liaison and have them let the Hospital's equivalent of a village idiot/village bully know to STOP!!!
@@artcasual99 > What I was referring to was after the first or second ticket, kick the complaint up their chain of command! > Tell them that if PD interferes with OP doing the necessary preliminary work, that they will consider this as the hospital causing issues with the contract and that added fees may be charged! Also, is PD does tow OP's car that (basically) to prepare for high seas and heavy rolls!!! (But in more business like manner....)
@@yozarahirvi4750 Yes! Big No No!!! But the idea would be to stop this without getting the police involved!! I imagine that PD went with this when he found out that he couldn't get the car towed.... At least not with other actions taken before towing. Hence get OP's bosses talking with PD's bosses and making sure that PD realizes he isn't the chief of police!!!!!!
@@timengineman2nd714 Better yet, PD getting demoted to sweeping floors ...... or better yet released from his job to start hunting for a new one. Who's to say that he wouldn't pull the same stunt with a family member of a patient, who is in the hospital for a long stint, and is visiting on a daily basis.
The guy in the first story had me shaking my head. If he did not want to do it he just had to say no and walk away or just ignore her and walk away. When I am in the store, I just want to get out of there as quick as possible but if someone asks for help getting something off the shelf or I see someone struggling, I will help. The one time I helped someone that has stuck with me was a woman with her two kids. I heard a little boy ask his mom something and she said "once I figure out how to get this water in the cart without dropping your brother." I looked over and see this woman with her baby in one of those baby carrier wrap things. The baby was clearly a newborn, max 2 months. There were tons of people in the aisle and everyone ignored her. I asked if she needed help and she was shocked. I put the water in her cart, confirmed she only needed the one and went on my way.
This is very true. One year after our office Christmas party, I had to catch the bus home which meant one bus into the terminal, and another one out. I went to the bathroom before i left. When I got to the terminal, I needed to go again, so went into the public bathroom. So I'm sitting in the cubicle, taking a pee, and when I was done, I thought "I'm just going to sit here a minute", and sure enough, had another pee! Then I caught my bus out.
3rd story: The moment that Karen grabbed me and started digging the nails in would have immediately illicit a full open hand slap to her face telling her to keep her hands to herself and if she still kept hold, grab the little finger and twist hard. Oh, and kicking the bag the next time would have had me stomp down hard down on the bag.
That last story had me giggling. Not one but two "IDWHL" stories at the same time. I bet OP was thinking "OMG. This is too funny not to post" See this is why I love hearing about old women in these kind of stories. They get a good chuckle out of me XD
story 4: Yeah like people would wear a construction worker costume, make fake business cards, ask a buddy to answer phone and pretend to be supervisor of construction company....all to park in non employee parking. If OP did do all that...seems so much extra work to have...worst parking
I am a security guard. When I suspect someone is not allowed to do something, the first thing I do is politely ask if the person is an employee and if I can see their badge. If the answer is not what I want to hear, I let them know that this is private property and ask that they leave the area. If they refuse to do what I ask, my next stop is to CALL MY SUPERVISER!!!!! Good god, the idiot in the parking story needs to learn procedure, because harassing someone without reporting to someone (and if he had reported, he'd have either been told what was going on or gotten his supervisor to check the guy out and then properly inform police etc...) is itself against the law. OP should have called the police for harassment, that dingus is probably still riding high on his power trip when he should have been fired long ago.
The classic supercop. They make our industry look pretty bad. I still enjoy the ones that argue, and say things like, "what if I just stay here anyways." Telling them that that's fine they can do that, but I've got nowhere else to be for six hours while I wait for my supervisor to call the police to deal with them. The look is always beautiful when they realize how little I'm actually invested in the argument.
@@derekeuchner1800 I'm paid to be here and I don't have to do anything but paperwork when this is done and over. You're just determining how much paperwork I have to do.
It's amazing how people dont realize that blocking people in is kidnapping, and therefore the defendant can use any amount of force to get free or incapacitate the attacker.
Story 2: OP gave that Woman what she deserved, if she has a history of harassing people then she has no right enter any store until she has learned her lesson (Especially when she is this violent)
Tries to trip OP with bag, says "You better not have broken anything in my bag". Yeah, I would have immediately started stomping the bag as hard as I could in that position.
First story, I am 6'2", and get asked to reach things, or offer to help when I see someone struggling. Story 2, as a Vet with PTSD myself when I am out I wear my hat. Not to advertise or for praises, but it keeps the wild Karens away. Because even the Karenest of Karens know that the wild haired crazy eyed Vet will stomp on them without hesitation. " I will see your bet of a wild Karen, and raise it with crazy eyed Joe the war Vet."
Story #3: Should have punted her bag across the floor. Did that at school to some bully that thought it would be funny to try and trip the nerd(me) with their book bag.
I’m pretty sure the Terms & Conditions of being a human over 5’10” is that you must assist shorter people in grocery stores when (politely) asked. Dude was off his rocker
17:00 I worked security in a hospital and part of my job was to relieve the parking lot attendant for his lunch break. This is San Francisco and so parking is an issue, and *NOT* free in this lot. The entrance to the parking lot was behind my booth and the entrance was protected by those spikes that lay down nicely if you drove over them in the way you are meant to, but tear into your tires if you go the wrong way. One day this guy started to pull in but realized he didn't want to go in here and started to back out. I yelled for him to stop, and he did. I explained he was about to destroy his tires if he backed out, but I told him if he pulled the rest of the way in that I could just let him back out if he came right back. The guy would have to drive around the parking lot a bit to get from the entrance back to the exit, so it would take him a minute to get back. In that minute the regular parking attendant returned from his break and I explained what had happened. Just then the guy came back to exit the lot. The attendant said he still had to pay the minimum fee ($5 1989 money. ~$12 today). I told him I had already told the guy he could just go around for free but the attendant wasn't having it. We started to argue but I felt the guy had no reason to be held there so I lifted the gate for so he could leave. The poor guy looked worried that the argument was my fault and asked me if I was sure before he pulled through. The parking lot attendant was really pissed off at this (the guy was gone by now) but I really didn't care. I told him if it was a problem to call his boss to talk to my boss and they could work it out. But I had to get back to *MY* job as his break was over and I walked away. The parking lot attendant had called my boss even before I got back to the hospital and told him I had been letting my friends leave the parking lot for free and he was pretty sure I had taken money from the register. I explained what actually happened, the guy was in his 60's at least and I was 19 at the time so I'm not sure why the parking guy thought we were friends. In any case, no money was missing from the register and I was told I had done the right thing. Though I continued to relieve parking attendants as part of my job, I never saw that one attendant again. No idea what happened to him. (That's a lie. I'm pretty sure he got fired)
Parking dude story: reminds me of the time when the security at my state agency gave me tickets on back to back days for parking on the yellow line (parking spaces were painted yellow) and parking too close to someone. Funniest thing I'd ever received at that agency for the fourteen years I was there.
Story 6: Why does wholesome stories always have to be so rare?.. my guess is because there are many horrible people in the World, that and the fact that r/ Stories are generally about these kind of people
I am also short, barely got to 5' 1", and shopping is a struggle and I struuuggle sometimes, but I mostly don't think to ask for help. I think I asked a random taller shopper once, but mostly if I really can't get something I just go find someone who works there. The last time it was another woman who was taller than me by only a few inches and she had to go get a stool, it was kinda funny. One time a random person helped me without asking. She noticed I was tucking my left wrist to my chest while I tried to get something heavy off a higher shelf with just my right hand. I'd been having problems with my wrist and had been wearing a brace, but only at night, but that day it was bothering me and I really wished I had that brace, and she just read my body language perfectly and came to my rescue. Thank you, random fellow shopper!
Fourth story: I already heard this one. That parking guard was on a big power trip and to all his sentences I added this last part in my mind: "Bow to my power tripping boner" while pointing to his junk. I would reck his golf cart and claim that he got in the way which is true. And the block and chain I think is illegal because you can't do that if you don't have the authority.
Thank God the world has gone to hell and security cameras are literally everywhere -- that Army vet could *easily* have been the one hauled off to jail for assault, were it not for the security cameras that proved Karen assaulted him first and he was just defending himself. Had it been, say, in the 1970s, and he'd just come home from Viet Nam, say, he'd have been declared crazy and not only would've been hauled off to jail, he'd probably have been forced into some VA mental "hospital," to work on his "anger issues." Lord knows how many times some Karen got away with this kind of thing, back in the days before 100% security-camera coverage in all major retail stores.
First story I'd pretty funny. What an idiot. I get he may have thought Karen wanting him to fetch her list. Should have also included while asking that you were too short to grab it
On the other side of where OP is coning from I'm an elderly man who when shopping uses a scooter only because if I stand or walk too much at a time my back gets very painful. Since I'm using a scooter people seem to think that I need more help than I actually do. Just today I was stocking up on soda and a very well meaning lady asked me if I needed help getting the bottles of soda down and into the basket of the scooter (I was using my cane to pull the bottles over to where I could reach them) I thanked her and she seemed to get hurt feelings about it. Maybe in the future I will accept the help and make sure to thank the kind person(s).
6:39 had a moment like that once. I ride a bike but travel over 20 miles in my commute, so I take a bus for most of it. I don't take my helmet off on the bus because that way I don't forget it and leave it behind (you only make that mistake once, then never again). This one time, some guy starts bugging me about how I don't need to wear one, I'm inside, starts asking me if I'm worried if we are going to crash. I ignore him until he starts smacking me on the head, figuring I wouldn't care since I have a helmet on. I do care, so I go "drill Sargent mode" and yell at him enough that he retreats FAR away from me. I actually end up feeling a little bad and try to apologize when I go to get off the bus, wanting to also explain how he really should not mess with people like that if he doesn't know them, figuring he was lucky it was just me and not someone ACTUALLY crazy. Apparently I scared him bad enough that he actually hid behind the person he was with when I approached to apologize.
The last story reminded me of this one when I worked at a call center. My call center was outbound surveys. I just asked people questions as a large scale poll. I called one older man and after not being able to communicate with him I heard another man talk to him saying, “Who are you talking to!? You know you’re not supposed to be on the phone.” Then the line cut.
Lmao, when I heard "another old lady was on the end of the call" on that last story. I immediately knew where it was going. Like having two different restaurant callers talk to each other on the phone
That last story reminds me of the comic telling about 3 guys on a British train who are hard of hearing. One of the passengers asks the first guy, "Where are you going?" and he says, "Wembly". The second guy says, "No, it's Thursday". The third guy says, "Great! I'll have a drink!".
I NEVER touch someone, even if I know them, from behind. Being retired military myself, that's just asking for trouble, it's not like we walk around with a sign saying "Do Not Touch."
Story 1.5: Absolutely loved the story of OP helping an elderly lady get something off the high shelf and fly. If I saw something like that at a supermarket would kept likely make me smile and happy mood. :)
First story: I'm 5'5. I have developed a method where I use other objects on the shelves to scoot stuff close enough to me to grab it. I still have the occasional issue of stuff being too far back on the shelves for that to work or it's things like 2 liter Coke bottles in those fixed bumper shelves. In that case I too ask someone taller than me to get it for me. One really sweet guy took the Coke down and put it in my cart. I always preface my request with, "I know you don't work here." I have never been yelled at. One day I watched a guy ask a stranger wearing brown scrubs if he worked there. I was astonished at the sheer stupidity of that.
The "two internets" story reminded me of one I once read. A woman was working the drive thru of a fast food restaurant. A customer came along, placed their order, and then said, "And I'd like the free Wiffie." The employee was rather puzzled until she realized the customer was talking about the Wi-Fi.
Omg. This is probably my favorite post so far. I've been binging the channel and between the, make me fly lady, warming my heart at the beginning and the two old lady's, one wanting to buy two internets, at the end had me laughing so hard, I almost peed. 🤣
Parking dude story. Chains through door handle and then around wheel as well. Report all damage to door/paint immediately to employer and I’m sure it would be sent to hospital. Then we’ll see how much of a power trip parking dude is on. I’m sure there’d be financial repercussions.
YES! Someone lays hands on you, you DROP THEM RIGHT THERE. With how crazy people are today, you don't know if they'll do anything worse, so it's in your best interest to lay them out and make sure they can not touch you again the moment they assault you. Then call the police and press charges.
There is also the danger of grabbing someone that is Well Trained in certain forma of Military Hand-to-Hand Combat (usually Ex-Special Forces/Commando) and/or Black Belts in certain Martial Arts as their Muscle-Memory level Instinctive reactions is NOT to strike the solar-plexus (smashes the air from your lungs, causes a lot of pain and generally puts you on your ass desperately trying to remember how to breathe), the leg (knock you down with a LOT of pain from the knee) or the head (also knock you down with the added bonus of either a Concussion and/or unconsciousness)...their first instinct is to strike for the nose, the throat or some other equally 1-shot-1-kill location on the body... Grab the wrong person and the next thing you know, St. Pete is tapping you on the shoulder asking for ID...
Okay but seriously- the ballet one makes me tear up. That’s just so adorable and sweet 🖤🖤🖤 I hope they’re able to fly more and more somehow. Especially with Aerial ropes or something. There’s nothing else like it
As long as you used a non-synthetic voice and also corrected grammar and spelling errors into something that makes sense to native speakers, that would be a nice gesture. DF is the only storyreader that seems to learn how uncommon words are pronounced and which pronunciation to use when encountering homographs that are heterophones. E.g. live & live
Story 5: All of these stories where Karen thinks that people who don't wear a Work uniform are employees makes me think that they often mistake Batman for working at Disney World (Or someone else with a completely random non-work Uniform)
I've gone through so many r/ videos that I've pretty much seen them all. it's nice to get a brand new video with new stories, it helps me through these tough times. Thank you
Yeah I'm rather short myself and when I can't reach something I'll ask someone if I can borrow their height for a minute. Most of the time it's no problem and I usually get a few laughs and a little teasing about being so short. But a couple times I've been yelled at for asking someone for help. It's rather ridiculous I never ask if they work there or assume but some people just have a giant stick up their ass. Anyway love your videos Peace and love to you and your family 💙💚💙
Story 1: The comment was even more entertaining than the original story...really nice thing happened here. "Make me fly!" was an awesome response! :) Story 2: Karen...AGAIN...assaults someone who she thinks works somewhere...which he doesn't...but even if he did...YOU CAN'T ASSAULT WORKERS EITHER...or the police! Story 4: OP definitely should have called the police when the 1st chaining occurred...technically it was a myriad of crimes...including a couple felonies...so call police & prosecute. Story 5: So after everything that happened previously...the Karen STILL thought OP was an employee...in shorts & skull shirt...holding a baby? Seriously? Stupid should hurt.
I really dislike how the store feels like they have to give someone free stuff because one Karen decided to attack another customer, like yes he deserves compensation but the compensation should come out of the Karen's pockets, she attacked him, not the store or the employees. They shouldn't make the store suffer for the Karen's mistakes, and yeah you might think "the store makes so much money, some free stuff wont hurt it" Well that's where you'd be wrong, see when stuff is given free or stolen, they MUST make up that cost somehow, so the store (usually big corporations like walmart) has to make little sacrifices, like hours on employees, or bonuses, or holidays (lol as if walmart gives employees any holiday pay) So you make the Karen pay the victim, not the store.
I am not tall. I can reach the front of the top shelves. Usually. I am really used to walking next to hubby who is tall. If he's with me he gets everything up high and will help anyone who asks. If he's not, i will look for either an employee or anyone taller and very nicely ask them if they will be tall for me. Usually they'll smile then say sure what do you need from the top shelf. Then, most importantly smile again and say Thank You so much!! 😊
Story 2: I would think any sensible person would expect to be hit if they pulled someone else's hair, which is why they don't pull someone else's hair. How does anyone think they are so special that they can pull this nonsense? There are billions of people on Earth, so no, Karen, you're not really that special except maybe to your family and whatever friends you've somehow managed to make despite being you.
Exactly! And I straighten shelves all the time too. It's just nice to make it easier for other shoppers to find stuff and the workers to get their work done. People are just ignorant and ride sometimes.
I can understand getting confused and thinking someone is an employee when they’re not, but WHY do they think it’s ever appropriate to put their hands on someone? Isn’t that the kind of thing you learn in kindergarten? Keep your hands to yourself. Not a hard concept.
Story 1. The ballerina's temporary lift partner made my heart sing! OP, I'm short also and have asked other near by customers for help. I always start with I'm sorry but I cant reach. Never had an issue. I'm sorry you did.
Re number 1. At 195cm (6'5") tall and aged 74 I still get the occasional request from a less tall person to help get something down from the top shelf for them. Not a problem, and I sometimes make a joke that I will ask them for help if I need to get something from the bottom shelf when I can't reach it. Laughs all round. Occasionally I will get asked if I work there, but still all well mannered, and I will offer directions if I know them. Maybe it is the Australian way, or maybe it is just that I look a bit scary, I don't know, but I have yet to have a Karen run in.
I felt bad for OP in the first story. I’m pretty short myself and often feel like a cat jumping at a toy in the air at stores. Usually someone is nice enough to help, but I feel bad asking.
It's actually considered unlawful detainment with the guy blocking him in with the golf cart and effectively trying to extort him for info he doesn't have, further more him attaching things to OP's car is considered vandalism, not to mention harassment. I actually would have called the none emergency number when he was blocking the car from leaving just because that actually gets more shit done because the hospital is only going to cover it up. I say that because something like that happening isn't a very good image for the hospital now is it?
I'm handicapped and ride the mobility scooters in stores. It's hard to open doors of coolers. I was trying and a sweet child asked if he could help. Yes I said and told her what I needed she helped me all thru the coolers. In the end I thanked her and turned to mother and complimented on how helpful she was. The mother told me she used to help her grandmother like that and she lost her a few weeks earlier. She said I made the little girl happy to be able to help another grandmother.
Oh my, you wou l d think I was slicing onions after reading this.
What a sweet story.
That is so sweet ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Dude was warned, he still played stupid games
Never ever mess with a veteran who's seen combat because the chances are good they're still wired for combat.
"LOL" is for "little old lady". I was laughing so hard at the absolutely wholesome innocence of those stories. The joy-seeking ballerina, and the darlings with the hearing issues in the last story. Bless them.
Parking dude is insane! OP should take the fake ticket to hospital admin and ask what his deal is. Guy should be arrested for harassment!
Guy would be in that hospital if he tried to harass and block me in for a third time in a row.
@@gierrah No kidding. I kind of hope he ended up pissing off the wrong person and was put in ER
With photos
Where I live, we have police designated to parking patrol as there are many places to park downtown. I had the chance to ask one of them about fake parking tickets once cause I've gotten said fake ticket when I first starting driving on my own. They said that it's considered a misdemeanor or felony depending on frequency or something similar
These ppl anger me so much, I've seen videos of ppl calling themselves Cart Narcs the things those people do are sickening they act like a polite tone & sweet voices excuse them for harassing ppl to tears
That make me fly comment was so adorable. I'd love to see that happen in a store. That would make my month.
I would totally do my best to comply for that. I love making someone's day like that.
That would make my entire YEAR. I would also absolutely love to see it happen
JUST make your month ? More like make my year.
Karen : grabs a Veteran
Veteran : So You Have Chosen Death
She is lucky it wasn't that level, we all know that there are some vets or people with PTSD that would snap back into the situation that caused the PTSD and would annihilate her without a thought.
Karens. They always abandon reason for madness.
Yep. As soon as I start throwing expletives out and roasting someone like a Comedy Central comedian, they realize that I have served in the military. People don't realize: veterans aren't to be messed with, especially those who have severe anxiety and PTSD
Depends on the veteran.
Navy: “ooh! We goin to dinner?!”
CG: “hey I really don’t like that.”
AF: “hey! Don’t touch me with your unsanitary hands!”
Army: “you just f-ked up.”
Marines: “Congratulations, you just won a lifetime supply of war crimes!”
PTSD story: Thank you, OP! Both for your service and for pressing charges on that woman. From a Navy Vet.
I have five uncles, all but one is navy
Thank you for your service
Story 2 is fake the being autistic would disqualify you from joining the military
Why do people automatically think that everyone has their mindset. Like we all are not self-absorbed narcissistic assholes like them. Many of us are decent human beings and some of us have quarks.
"I'd like to buy 2 internets."
Dying from laughter!
Same XD
This wins the internets. Both of them.
I couldn’t help laughing at the end of Story 6. “Yes. I would like to buy two internets” 😂. Bless the hearts of those two sweet souls
Second story: I wonder why all the Karens think they can even resist the arrest. Ans that ponytail pull is assault in every sense of the word.
Yeah, she is really lucky. OP could have seriously injured her if they had reacted differently or been in better health.
@@MajorTeagmy thoughts exactly
Oh, Fluff! Thank you so much for the "Make me fly." short story.
I am 4' 11". That story is wonderful!🙂❤️
!!!!!!!!!!!! PRICELESS !!!!!!!!!!!
My son is 6'3" and just a few days ago a lady asked him to reach something on a top shelf at the grocery store. The lady was old enough to be his grandma and my heart just beamed with pride at the kindness my son showed to a stranger.
1st story: Courtesy is a dying action
2nd story: If the "employee" isn't wearing the store's uniform, THEY DON'T WORK THERE. If they work there but not currently wearing the uniform, THEY DON'T WORK THERE YET. If the employee is in the parking lot and is HOLDING their uniform THEY DON'T WORK THERE YET
3rd story: Rent-A-Cop must not be a real security guard if he's using cinder blocks
4th story: Why do karens just automatically assume that some random person in a store is an employee?
2nd story, since that wasn't her 1st offense, she's either really entitled and thinks EVERYONE is below her or/and extremely dumb. I think she started to panic as she realized that she is going to jail and is getting charges pressed against her this time. But because she fought and resisted arrest she made it so much worse on herself.
100% don't resist. Even if the arrest is illegal, it's better to let your lawyer handle that than to have other charges added that they might not be able to fight. Also if you resist they WILL use force.
It seems to be a common trend of Karen's to attack cops
i'm just curious, how did op know what was said without his hearing aids? can he read lips? how much can he hear without the aids?
@@Giratina575 especially since the cop won't do as she demands, believe their lies, and then arrest them and not the person they demand should be arrested.
@@totallyspies01 probably read their lips
Story 2: Love it when stories end with Karen being cuffed and stuffed. Understand completely straightening the shelves. 47 years after I last worked at a grocery store, I still feel the need to block-and-face the shelf, at least the products I just took one of.
I straighten shelves, too.
I didn't even think about it and just got it for the man, but after I was done he turned to me and said "I know you don't work here, but I saw your shirt and thought you'd be helpful, thank you."
See, when I started work as the CSCI tutor, I had found and bought a tee-shirt with the text "Let me drop everything and help you with your problem" on it. It was supposed to be sarcastic, but I thought it was funny at the time given both of my jobs involved helping people. I had forgotten I was wearing it at the time and it gave me a good chuckle.
"I'd like to buy two internets"
Omfg help.
That was a really sweat sounding conversation, but I don't think many could have survived without laughing at it
I was hoping both would gotten into a longer conversation that lead to one asking is this the right number then both laughing and perhaps starting a friendship
I blinked in surprise when the woman said "I am more important than your wife."
As a vertically challenged person, I thank you!
@@crescentmoon5859 I have straight _climbed_ shelves to get things.
Yeah it's about politeness, if someone askes politely then just get it for them and move on, if they are rude then feel free to walk away or be rude back.
Treat others how you want to be treated and all that.
@@Ishlacorrin That's my life rule.
If I'm out shopping and see someone who may need help, I ask them if I could help them even though I don't work there, especially if there's no actual employees in that area.
The make me fly story was really sweet!
"How did you get out of there?", and OP responds "Magic!" I laughed so loud my doggos barked at me!
The parking garage story: should’ve called the head of security directly and tell them if OP was harassed again by the security guard, police would be called
I'd have called the police at the first altercation with the nut.
@@allanmoore4353 And the hospital administration.
You block me in, or attempt to keep me from leaving in another way, I'm calling the police.
I'm short and often politely ask taller shoppers to help. I've never had a problem. Usually they just laugh and help me. I always thank them profusely.
Ditto
I'm only 5' 8", and I always do my best for fellow shoppers when I can. Its the civilized thing to do.
Near the end of the story, OP says that their boss did lodge a complaint to the hospital about the PD but they don't think it went anywhere.
@@timengineman2nd714 when he attached concrete bloc to the car, police could get involved too, I don't think that's legal
Bartender here, breaking the seal is a real thing.
Amen!
I would have "accidentally" tripped over it and made a scene. That would have gotten that woman faster out the door 🤣
Literally Noone:
Major payne: give me your finger
Unwanted contact earns people two rewards. A punch, and if it resumes, a round.
That last story had me giggling. Not one but two "IDWHL" stories at the same time. I bet OP was thinking "OMG. This is too funny not to post" See this is why I love hearing about old women in these kind of stories. They get a good chuckle out of me XD
“I would like to buy two internets” is so adorably wholesome!
story 4: Yeah like people would wear a construction worker costume, make fake business cards, ask a buddy to answer phone and pretend to be supervisor of construction company....all to park in non employee parking. If OP did do all that...seems so much extra work to have...worst parking
That last story sounds exactly like a Bob Newhart telephone sketch 😂
Either that or a Mama's Sketch from The Carole Burnett show.
"PUT THAT BABY DOWN AND COME HELP ME"
I am deceased.
After a long week with a horrible Karen manager i need this video to start my weekend. Xxx
So happy the Service Dog got several bags of treats.
Story 2: OP gave that Woman what she deserved, if she has a history of harassing people then she has no right enter any store until she has learned her lesson (Especially when she is this violent)
She should be happy to not get maced, tased or having a gun to her face by a victim of hers.
That whole conversation between the two older women about the internet was the epitome of wholesome. 🥺❤️
Tries to trip OP with bag, says "You better not have broken anything in my bag".
Yeah, I would have immediately started stomping the bag as hard as I could in that position.
Security guard story I'd be calling the Hospital manager if not calling the police for illegally detaining OP, illegally 'booting' his car
The last story put a smile on my face! 🥲 That was a sweet story of 2 elderly Ladies that could have been a comedy sketch! 🙈😂
Like Abbot and Costello - I can totally hear that!
As soon as I saw the cinder block and chain on my car I would have called the cops
"how did you..."
"MAGIC!!!"
*Drives off*
Love it
Parking lot guy should be charged with false imprisonment.
He had way more patience than me.
Last story my sides are hurting from laughing so hard.
That was my thought... "Accidentally" back into the cart.
It feel like it's been forever, but it's only been a day. Oh how I missed your stories. Thanks for the new upload
Oh, my word! The 'Make me fly" story left me with tears of joy running down my cheeks! I'm such a sucker for a great wholesome story!
That last story was adorable
That last story was the highlight of my day 😂
OH MY GOD - the tech support telephone conversation is AMAZING absolutely amazing. Thank you so so much for sharing your story.❤
I love the wholesome stories, I also love the stories where the doggo gets rewarded for being good.
As a very tall person myself, I always help people who needs help reaching something.
There’s nothing else like it
DarkFluff, Id gladly volunteer to read the stories for you. 🙂
Same 😊
Yup
For an april's fools prank it would be funny to have someone else doing their best to impersonate Fluff for a video.
We’d all notice the voice difference right away and become Karen’s
As long as you used a non-synthetic voice and also corrected grammar and spelling errors into something that makes sense to native speakers, that would be a nice gesture. DF is the only storyreader that seems to learn how uncommon words are pronounced and which pronunciation to use when encountering homographs that are heterophones. E.g. live & live
Clothes aside, how on earth could a Karen think an employee would bring their own babies to their workplace?
Story 5: All of these stories where Karen thinks that people who don't wear a Work uniform are employees makes me think that they often mistake Batman for working at Disney World
(Or someone else with a completely random non-work Uniform)
These Karens make superman story more believable. They definitely would not recognize Klark Kent as superman with glasses 😂
Karens are basically like rattlesnakes. They only see body heat. Any warm body is obligated to serve her!
I've gone through so many r/ videos that I've pretty much seen them all.
it's nice to get a brand new video with new stories, it helps me through these tough times.
Thank you
I start a new job today and this popped up on my dash! I was stressed and now I'm calmer! Thank you, Fluff!
"Borrow their height", that's a neat way to ask!
I use that line too ^_^ I find it usually starts things on a bright note.
Story 1: The comment was even more entertaining than the original story...really nice thing happened here. "Make me fly!" was an awesome response! :)
Story 2: Karen...AGAIN...assaults someone who she thinks works somewhere...which he doesn't...but even if he did...YOU CAN'T ASSAULT WORKERS EITHER...or the police!
That last one spiraled so much
I would’ve *loved* to hear that in person.
958 unread emails is rookie numbers! I just went back to work after maternity leave and my inbox had 101,158 unread emails.
The comment in the first story, about the retired ballerina, made me so happy
I can understand getting confused and thinking someone is an employee when they’re not, but WHY do they think it’s ever appropriate to put their hands on someone? Isn’t that the kind of thing you learn in kindergarten? Keep your hands to yourself. Not a hard concept.
The Karen who got elbowed DESERVED it !! Don't touch anyone or expect to get hit back ! The Balarinna story was so sweet !! Love to hear it !!
Story 1. The ballerina's temporary lift partner made my heart sing! OP, I'm short also and have asked other near by customers for help. I always start with I'm sorry but I cant reach. Never had an issue. I'm sorry you did.
I love quibbs comment. such a beautiful moment !
#1 - Okay, I would have snapped a photo of the lady doing the ballet move and clapped after she landed. That was just too awesome!
I don't know why, but I find OP's response "magic" in the 4th story really funny, like, pause the video because of laughter funny
