Its incredible that the old fire tower is still standing and still accessible. I discovered that if you try to climb a steel tower when its cold wear warm gloves. Its amazing how cold the steel gets and obviously this is not the place for numb hands as I've discovered.
I live in Tomahawk about 20 to 25 miles east of Timm's Hill. Been there a dozen times. Never thought anyone except official park personnel/rangers were meant to/allowed to climb that metal tower, but I could be wrong. It never even occurred to me to try and climb that one, the other wooden one next to it is plenty high enough for me. In late September and early October the view of all the tops of the trees below turning colors from up there is inspiring. You should check out Copper Falls State Park in Mellen, WI about an hour and a half north of Timm's Hill. They have a lookou tower there as well. Also, if you like disc golf, there's a great course in Red Wing, MN at the top of Memorial Park with a great scenic overlook of the whole town and the Mississippi river from up there.
Yeah I looked for any sort of sign for rules about the big tower and didn’t find one so I went for it! Thanks for the recommendations, those sound amazing! You have a beautiful state. 💯
We live just a couple miles down the road and you're right about there being no one around. Nice sometimes and other times it's very lonely. We do live going to Timm's Hill many times though during the summer months!
Wow, it really looks like Mississippi’s biggest point, near Iuka. My dad owns some land near Iuka, I always wanted to go there, but never had time, but I’ve seen a lot of videos on it. I’m from Alabama I live 45 mins from Mt Chehah, if you’ve ever been there. One of my favorite places, although Brasstown Bald in far north Georgia takes the cake as my favorite place.
Oh my I started in the middle of US , did everything east . Then went to Hood . The bad boys are left . Alaska Hawaii Rainier Cali Wyoming Arizona New Mexico Nevada . Lol it dosnt bother me to say Denali may be a Heli drop . I'm 62 still having children (7) youngest 2 are 8 & 4 . No blue pill . Can't complain of life it's been a great time . How many you got left ?
Great video
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.

@@Gene-kl1br very nice. I’ve only done 15 but most of those are in the West. The only hard ones I have left are Denali Rainier and Gannett.
Safe travels to you living the dream !
I climbed Timm's hill Tower back in October of 2012 I was a warm and day, but it was hazy. F+L, Corey
Very cool! Thanks for watching 🔥
Nice video. Are you going for all 50?
Thank you! Yes I am 👍
@@WhereKentWent that's an exciting goal! Best of luck!
@@WanderingSoleTV Thanks! I have videos of 3 more state high points filmed and waiting to be edited. Stay tuned for more!
Speaking of "state pride wait until you see KY. Basically a junk yard in a clearing and the danger that the mines beneath you will suddenly collapse!
That’s funny. Yeah I’ve heard Kentucky has one of the country’s less than spectacular high points.
