    Excellent video! Thank you for taking the time making it. In 2020 I wanted to get me a RG but I was told a new model with all the electronic gadgets was in the works so I decided to wait. In the meantime I decided to get me a low rider S. Awesome bike but if you’re planning to use it for long trips regularly it would be best to install forward controls with floor boards, especially if you’re 5’8” or taller in my opinion. Also I would get a more comfortable seat and definitely bring the handle bar closer to you. Stay safe

    Great videos and love the details! Keep it up! I'm 6'2 the floorboards were a must and life changing on this bike. Did the same thing and took the same flak from riders and even the harley dealership. Parts dept acted like I asked them to explain E=MC2. When asked if any other softail floorboards would work, if I had 1000 bucks to give them sure they'd come up with an answer real quick...I used 2020 softail slim boards I found cheap. Those are an option too if anyone sees this and needs.

    I test rode the ST and yes it was super uncomfortable, I’m 6feet tall. I love your idea of taking the Heritage bikes foot controls as the Heritage is considered the most comfortable. BUT how bad did the floorboard scraping get?

    • @justkillnbugz
      @justkillnbugz  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for the comments. I enjoy the ride so much more. As for the scrapping, I scrape my heritage boards as well so nothing new for me. There is a higher turn clearance on the LRST obviously, but My justification was if I scrape occasionally yet ride comfortably most of the time, I will just let it grind. lol.
      Ride safe.

    • @alexred09
      @alexred09 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @ I agree. I just don’t get how people are willing to put up with discomfort. Cause if you feel comfortable you won’t ride. Glad you made this video. And handlebars also matter I don’t get why they are so far forward and say you can tour with it, I won’t even make it to the corner store without holding my back and I’m still pretty young. I got three words for Harley, comfort comfort comfort and not I don’t want to compromise the look of the bike for comfort so they better make both happen.

    Another great video on forward controls. I have the forward controls for the LRST installed. Can I JUST use the brake pedal from the heritage? I purchased.miniboardz by Kuryakin(sp?). Or do I need to go full heritage boards to make it work?

    • @justkillnbugz
      @justkillnbugz  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I am not sure on that one since I did not like the height on the mid fwd controls kit. I tend to think it should work so worth a try. I had Thrashin mini boards on my config but have used a similar setup like yours on my old Victory Hammer S.

  • @unintentomas
    @unintentomas 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Thanks for the video. I installed the forward controls. I wish there was a kit to install the floorboards. Not easy to get the parts separately out of USA.

      Agreed, I sourced the individuals for the Heritage, may have to do that or have a friend grab them for you and ship in one batch?

    Can I keep the original air intake and still be able to use the Heritage floorboards & Brakes? Hoping lower boards will help me pass under the air intake. 5'9" with 30" inseam. Thanks!

    • @justkillnbugz
      @justkillnbugz  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the question. Yes you can. Air intake is preference and should be fine. The full fwd boards are very nice and very comfortable.

    Hello, so finally getting this done because the forward controls were not comfortable with the stock filter.

    • @justkillnbugz
      @justkillnbugz  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for the comments, I think you will like it, I changed the air cleaner as well for the very same reason. You may need to do the same even with the fwd boards, you gain about 4 inches of clearance. I did a video on that install as well.

      @mariog3143 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@justkillnbugz I was thinking about that, but apparently if I change it, I’ll need a tuner. Is that true?

    • @justkillnbugz
      @justkillnbugz  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mariog3143 That is a great question and one that MANY have debated, but my answer is Negative, I have upgraded my pipes and the air cleaner, which the stock one is already a high flow air cleaner, and still have my stock map. I live in CA so if I tune mine, my warranty is void, all 49 other states you can tune in, lol. My bike runs fine and I did see some improvements in power and response, but have not dyno'd it yet.
      I would recommend a tune if you change your full pipe system, not just slip-ons.

    Hello, just found your channel Thanks Just started looking at bikes How does the floorboard affect the ground clearance for cornering? Looks more comfortable

    • @justkillnbugz
      @justkillnbugz  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the comments. Yes, it is way more comfortable for me as opposed to the mid controls that shove my knees too high for a comfortable ride. There is reduced clearance for sure compared to the higher mid control placement on the LRST, but the trade off is much better for me. No different than riding a Heritage, you can scrape boards, as with any bike, depending on your ride style and twitch response when it happens ;-).

    • @justkillnbugz
      @justkillnbugz  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the feedback. I just took the LRST on a 200 mile run and absolutely LOVED the Heritage forwards and boards. So much more comfortable. As for the exhaust, I cannot say enough about how much I love the SPC sound and look. Only thing I would recommend is with the forward controls, get the heat shields or you will burn through boots quickly, lol, literally.
      Awesome company, awesome product!

    What forward kit? I thought the Heritage Classic already came with forwards? I cant find any kit from hd other then the chrome kit for the brackets.

    • @justkillnbugz
      @justkillnbugz  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the question. As I mention in the video, the LRST comes with mid-controls. You can purchase the mid fwd controls in black and chrome, but I did not like the brake pedal of the black set, or the the smaller board height. I called out all of the parts that you could purchase from HD for the Heritage board set. It is not a kit for the Heritage, it is a part by part purchase.
      I list all of the needed parts in the description (and video) so you can order them from HD to put the Heritage fwd control configuration on the LRST.

    Another great video! Do you mind telling me what Harley part numbers you used for the floorboards and the brake pedal? I have a Lowrider ST and I like what you did by switching what you had on your heritage classic to the Lowrider, ST. Thank you

      @justkillnbugz  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the reply, and the compliments! Much appreciated!
      As to the parts, there is a long list, I will see if I can ad them to the description, but, all you need to do is go to your local HD dealership parts department and tell them you want the complete forward controls setup, including the master cylinder bracket and shift lever assembly, for a 2022 heritage classic. Should work out to be about $720.00 or so depending on tax and local prices. They should be able to pull up the catalog pics and add each part number for you.
      You will LOVE it!

    Great video...again. I'm ok with the forward controls I put on....but PLEASE tell me what handlebar set up you plan. I put the Thrashin' 6.5: riser with their mid handlebars, but I need it pulled back more and I don't like the grip angle. I'd love to get the same height/angle that I had on my old Softail Custom.

    • @justkillnbugz
      @justkillnbugz  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated. I am going with the Thrashin 9.5 risers and High Bend Bars. I had that on my RGST and LOVED them. It equates out to be equivalent to about a 14" bar from my experience. (Same height I have on my Heritage)

Did you put a cam in yours yet , I did 475 ,134 torque 114 HP , wondering about a S&S 128 . Put one in my Road Glide 2020 . You ordered the new CVO . Also I changed from 6.5 to 9.5 much better .

    Excellent video! My problem is here in Canada, no HD dealer said it’s possible. I even tried to purchase the pieces separately for the Heritage. I’m also interested in knowing your bar solution. I went with the OG 6.5 risers and it helped a little as I’m also your height. Thanks

    • @justkillnbugz
      @justkillnbugz  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for the feedback. Obviously it is possible, lol, just need to get to the right dealer who will realize it is the same frame, softail..lol. Another suggestion is call a stateside dealer and have them help you as long as they will ship to Canada. Or a frind in teh states maybe as well. The pics in the video show the parts needed, which is basically everything board assembly and shift lever assembly to get it done.
      For my bars, I used LA Chopper risers and clamp and new Wild-1 Chubby 14" 1 1/4 hooked bars from Get Lowered.

    Good video. Debating getting a Low Rider S or ST and would need boards for sure. 6-2’ as well.
    Wondering though with some of the other things that have to be done to make an ST fit a taller rider if its not just easier to get a Heritage and put the Advan Black ST fairing on that.
    Anyway, thnx

      Thanks for the comments. Personal opinion, it would depend on if you want the stock 114 or 117. Heriatge only comes with a 114 at this time, the 117 on the S/ST does make a difference. I have had both at the same time and I can vouch for the beeter performance on the 117. Really depends on personal preference.
      Full boards are a must, maybe HD will offer that one day on the ST... Who knows.
