  • Since its inception, the Toyota Corolla has gone on to become one of the best selling cars of all time. The 2021 Corolla carries on this legacy with a load of options and features that make it stand out from the rest of the vehicles in the compact car segment. In this Toyota Corolla LE versus SE video, we go over two of the most popular Corolla trim levels. Watch to learn more about the differences between these two models, as well as the standard features that are available on all Toyota Corollas.
    About the 2021 Corolla:
    The 2021 Toyota Corolla will cater to car shoppers in search of value with five standard trim levels to choose from - L, LE, SE, XLE and XSE. Stock Toyota Corolla L trim levels are equipped with Toyota Safety Sense™ 2.0 technology that includes a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, LED headlights, a rearview camera, 60/40 split-folding rear seats and a 7-inch Toyota Entune™ 3.0 touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Wi-Fi Connect. Android Auto smartphone integration is a new addition to the 2021 Toyota Corolla spec sheet for this model year.
    To upgrade the level of entertainment on your day-to-day commute, Toyota Corolla LE, SE, XLE and XSE trim levels employ an 8-inch Toyota Entune™ 3.0 touchscreen display. Upper trim levels will add luxury and technology to your drive with a list of available features that includes 18-inch alloy wheels, a power sunroof, Toyota SofTex® synthetic leather upholstery, Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, heated front seats, a nine-speaker JBL® premium sound system, a Qi wireless charging system and Toyota Smart Key® with Push Button Start.
    Toyota Corolla models deliver a fun-to-drive and fuel-efficient performance when you get behind the wheel at Downeast Toyota. Corolla L, LE and XLE trim levels employ a 139-horsepower 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that is married to a Continuously Variable Transmission to make 30 mpg in the city and 38 mpg on the highway. Sport-tuned Corolla SE and XSE trim levels upgrade performance with a 169-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that when paired with the Continuously Variable Transmission will achieve up to 31 mpg in the city and 40 mpg on the highway. Corolla SE models are available with a six-speed manual transmission. For more info, visit: www.downeasttoyota.com/clp-20...

    • @thinkkops853
      @thinkkops853 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yeah, thats how CVTs operate, you feel a jerk when you’ve let go of the accelerator and accelerate again. Go easy on the accelerometer and it shouldn’t be too noticeable, unless your in dense traffic

    • @DowneastToyota
      @DowneastToyota  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Both the LE and the SE are the same size. As for the wheels, the 18-inch wheels should be able to be fitted on a LE, you would just have to get a different tire size. We would recommend contacting your local Toyota Dealer to make sure it is something that they can do.

      I worked at a tire and wheel shop if they are the exact same car there is no reason 18 inch wheels wouldn't fit, but I don't know if a dealer would swap them if not you could always purchase the wheels and have them installed at a tire shop.

    Corollas are excellent little cars. The base 1.8L engine is okay, but if you like to hit the gas and accelerate quickly from a stoplight, then you won't like the L and LE design as they have a conventional CVT that is really sluggish at the start. The SE has a larger engine with a first gear that helps launch the car rather quickly right from the start, it is so much more fun to drive! But get a spare set of 15" rims with P195/65/R15 all-weather tires so potholes won't cause damage and winter snow won't be an issue. (Keep the alloy wheels safely stored away for when it comes time to sell the car).

    Le may be boring but will last and wear better than the SE. The Low profile tires shouldnt be on a small car. Adds unnecessary road noise to the cabin. Why do you need 18 inch rims on a compact car ? Makes no sense. The ground clearance on the SE concerns me too. I sense the front end will be scraped within months of owning that vehicle. The XSe , then the top with Apex with all the guns and whistles. Just 3 models! With A couple packages make it simple that saves them money and throw in some extras for the people. Stop being so cheap a freaking Chevy Cruz LT used to have power seats heated seats and everything else. It was a cheap car with everything. If GM can do it Toyota can! You just cut cost by eliminating so many options. And for gods sake‘s would you stop with the white and gray and black give us some colors! Bright blue! red! Even yellow and green! Even the SE had some annoying corners cut to save Toyota $2 in cost, like the under-hood insulator molded-fiber mount pad piece missing (only comes with the XSE trim). The engine sounds way too whiny & annoying without it - which is why I had to go out & order one using the part-number for the XSE trim.
