    It never fails... those solo anxieties and fears resurface EVERY time I get back on the road after a long break. This time was no different. But you gotta get back up on the horse, right? After about a day or two, those worries begin to disappear and the comfortability and familiarity with being alone comes back.
    Do any of my fellow solo travelers ever feel this way?

      Great to see you again I've been wondering where you've been don't worry I didn't build my truck camper until I was already 50 and I just took the summer off of traveling to help my parents but I'm heading out soon it's great to see you out there again I'm old but I understand you should be proud of yourself maybe one day you could tell me how to make a good video like you make

      Yes- the anxiety I often experience when traveling and camping solo seems to come from the pressure of societal norms that have been placed on us in today's age. I usually feel a sense of irresponsibility or that I am being a slacker, and that I should instead be working or doing something more productive. I often forget why I work so hard to take these trips in first place. I also feel like I should be experiencing these times with another person or significant other, in order to validate my feelings, kinda like making an amazing meal and not having anyone to share it with. Maybe consider getting yourself a little canine sidekick? Please remember that you're having a positive impact on others that view your content, and never forget why you chose your unique path.

    32 years as a truck driver. When you are on the road you miss home . When you're home you miss the road . I'm looking at retirement in a few years and I'm looking forward to not having a schedule i have to meet but i know travel will still be a big part of my life . Currently looking for an expedition/overland/camping vehicle to build. Its a toss up between doing my Ram 2500 similar to your truck , build a Sprinter , a Box truck or an old Schoolie .
    If you ever need someone to chat with I'm always on the road from 5 to 5 or later . I've got lots of Grandfatherly advice, lol , just ask my granddaughter.

    • @BadassBrunette
      @BadassBrunette  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey there! Unfortunately the trailer doesn't have a brand. I bought it for $500 on FB marketplace and I'm fairly certain the guy made it. But maybe look up 3-rail motorcycle trailers. That's what mine is. Then last summer I did an axle flip for clearance and added full size tires. That way my spare is universal. Bolt on a couple of tongue boxes from harbor freight and you've got a homemade offroad dirt bike trailer!! Hope that kind of helps.

    Kirsten, as one of the "local" people of SW Idaho, I would beg you to PLEASE not publish a map that leads directly to the hot spring. As it is, with the advent of many TH-cam overlanders making videos in that location the amount of visitors has about tripled in the last three years. Fortunately, these relative few are the ones with a great respect for the location and keep it pristine. It is relatively easy to find the spring, but as it is, it requires a little research and effort to locate so only those who really want to go there make the effort. If everybody in the world can just drive right up to it you know what will happen. We've both seen it too many times. Safe travels!

    • @BadassBrunette
      @BadassBrunette  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As someone who watched Meadow Hot Springs in Utah go from a beautiful gem to social media destroyed, all due to one viral video, I am well aware of the delicate balancing act between sharing and protecting. In case you didn't notice, I never once mentioned it's location in the video. (You actually gave more of an exact hint with writing "SW Idaho"..soo... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ) I often discover these places by searching maps and researching on my own, and then I set out to find it. If I decide to film the adventure, I play the tactful approach of leaving little hints in the video so that if others are paying attention, they can do their own research if they so desire. But again, not once is it publicly disclosed in the video, although I understand the worry and concern.
      It's a strange time that we live in and it's unfortunate when beautiful places are ruined by those who do not care. Meadow hot springs is a shining example of that.

    • @sagebrushbob2321
      @sagebrushbob2321 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hmm,,, sorry. I wasn't making accusations, just concerned. In the last six months I've seen four different videos from major TH-cam channels using the springs as a subject. Little clues are fine. "SW Idaho" is a clue also, but it is a little clue in a very big place. In any case, I hope you enjoyed your trip through our area and maybe I'll see you out there, sometime. The new custom camper should be easy to spot! :-) @@BadassBrunette

    • @BadassBrunette
      @BadassBrunette  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      All good! The concern is totally justified. Last thing anyone wants are for gems to be permanently ruined/closed and it starts with sharing responsibly. I honestly had no idea other channels were out there filming as well. I just find spots on the map and go check them out. Hopefully all of us creators can do our best with that fragile balancing act so those places continue being amazing for years to come. And yes! Maybe one day we'll get to cross paths out there in that beautiful wilderness. Flag me down if you see me! :D
