I opted for a Steam deck Oled. As i wanted a decent battery. But once the X was announced and i looked at the specs. I pre ordered. 3 reasons. Battery, Ram and vram. After a few months im still loving everything about it. Sold the SD, My Ps5 and Portal. Not touched my gaming PC. Its perfect
Can't wait for a Rog Ally 2, Legion Go 2 & Steam Deck 2 vs Switch 2, PS Vita 2 & Xbox Handheld ❤❤❤. I'm no need a PCs & big consoles anymore. Handheld are for my future gaming. From those 6, I'm preferred Switch 2 (console) & Rog Ally 2 (PC) 👍👍👍
I have the Ally X, but I think once steam refreshes the Steam Deck I'm 100% going to try the new SD. Something tells me that I'm missing out on the OLED screen.
It's weird, I have both. When I'm on my Steam Deck I miss VRR and any frame stuttering really stands out when it used to not bother me, and when I'm on my Ally X I miss Oled for the nice dark blacks. You'll never be satisfied.

I film and edit videos for work as well. I’m curious if I can completely eliminate my laptop and switch and solely use a hand held device?🤔
I bought the steam deck oled, mainly because i could play Apex legends without the whole anticheat fuss, but because of the recent change in their anticheat policy, i may as well invest in the Ally X.
I have smaller version Tomtoc bag and it’s been my EDC. Fits my Deck, Ally X, or Switch. Legion Go is difficult. 😸 Almost Nov 18, and you know what that means.
@JasonWitmerYT just wondering do you need a dock to get them working properly with the rog ally x? also how easy is it to play in docked mode with a tv?
You need a dock, you can just use a USB C cable, but then you won't have room for peripherals so a Dock is preferred. It's very easy to play on a TV. Pretty much automatically.
The screen is just too small plus 16:9 just makes it worse. The sd oled is superior since I am still able to read those tiny texts in jrpg games like Octopath travelers.

I love the legion go because of it detachable controls i can remove them to making more of a laptop look.

Very easy! Portable monitors are all pretty similar, so just grab one on sale.
