The cheating problem is bad yes. Disallowing Linux players, or requiring windows 11 secure boot is the slap in the face here. On the other, I haven’t heard anybody said these new updates to the anti cheat system have made any difference to their experience. The cheating problem is still bad. Yeah but doesn’t that mean kernel level anti-cheat doesn’t work that well despite being super invasive? It’s kinda funny that they’re banning the Linux player base from accessing their games while the vast majority of cheaters are on Windows…

This is 100% the opposite of what happens with a home console.
Yeah. No. Maybe not AAA gaming, but it has longevity in back log gaming and emulation. Not everyone wants to play bleeding edge games handheld or multiplayer.
It runs games at 720p with low settings often times & needs to be aided by upscaling or frame gen tech that has to built into each game individually. Most everything else runs at 1080p or 1600p & at 1080p can run games at high settings that steam deck runs at low settings at 720p. You can at least upscale a modern device to 1600p & you can actually run medium level ray tracing on many modern devices, especially if it has more than 16 gigs of RAM. & that’s just today. The deck is not modern. It is literally outdated tech. So is a Nintendo switch. Even tho they continue to produce games for a switch. It’s still outdated. Pc doesn’t last for 5 years Don’t come to the pc world thinking this No the Steam Deck cannot last for a long time or for years to come it is in 2024 already horrendously out dated & for anyone serious about gaming it will be a coaster by the end 2025. It will be a paper weight. The games dictate the tech in pc gaming. The pc doesn’t dictate the games. The pc must keep up with the games. This is 100% the opposite of what happens with a home console.
That is a massive exaggeration, calling it just a paperweight in the future.
Yeah. No. Maybe not AAA gaming, but it has longevity in back log gaming and emulation. Not everyone wants to play bleeding edge games handheld or multiplayer.
Negative. I play mostly emulation on my deck.
It runs games at 720p with low settings often times & needs to be aided by upscaling or frame gen tech that has to built into each game individually. Most everything else runs at 1080p
or 1600p & at 1080p can run games at high settings that steam deck runs at low settings at 720p. The idea of years for the life span of a steam deck is like, yeah, only if you bought it as a gloried retro gaming device. lool.
Console/handheld warrior 😂😂😂😂
