My family has owned Mercedes literally since my birth & have never considered staying from that until we stopped at a Tesla store in a mall. The loss of creature comforts doesn't matter when you touch that screen and feel it drive.
I like this interior more than the Model 3's because still has the levers to operate the lights, wipers, cruise control and adjusting the steering wheel. I think 259 miles (414.4 Km) is a good range of charge. In general I like the car
i agree. The Model S interior should be more involved as it is the flag ship. and i love the ergonomics and look of the Model S dash. I pray they dont mess it up and drop it down to model 3 look. the old Model S will be hard to get i believe on that look alone.
Still one of the better looking big sedans in my opinion. In fact, I think the deletion of the traditional grill actually really helps in the looks. Now if they can just catch up with the demand and bring down the price... You know, like Elon has been promising since 1893...
I agree. I still think the Model S is one of the better-looking sedans on the market to this day. And I also agree that it looks better with the revised front end (although it took some time for me to appreciate the new look).

Racer P could you maybe give me more information over this car? I was interested in buying one, but I’m on the line you know? Like how much does this raise your electricity bill by?? And how long does the battery last on daily city drives? If it’s not a too much of a burden could you answer?
Well, I have two Teslas, a Model S and a Model X. Together the electrical bill is raised by about $140 / month, or $70 per car. Both cars are 75Ds. I charge about every 2 to 3 days. City driving uses less energy than highway, which is exactly the opposite as a gasoline car. The major savings will come from much reduced maintenance. Brakes will easily last 100K miles due to regen. The car does not need oil change, tune-up, or smog check.
Marcelo Zanuski google “Tesla myth buster toxic battery” and you’ll discover a Tesla blog post item as one of the first hits where they tell in 2008 (!! The original roadster era, 4 years before the first Model S became available). In this article they describe how even their FIRST generation battery pack is not toxic at all, almost fully recyclable and the few remaining bit can safely go to a landfill or something. Contrary to what many believe, batteries are not used up. The lithium for example can simply be reused. Sounds like a much saner option than burning precious oil with 25% efficiency going into movement and 75% into heating up the front end of the car...
Funny enough, the fact that there is a real rear middle seat WITHOUT an arm rest is one of the main reason for me to take the S as I have 3 kids and they always complained about the middle place of my Audi or others with arm rest. I really hope they keep that!
Model S is the OG. I love my 3 and will keep loving it. Hopefully I keep making videos about it as well. They take so long to make tho haha. Great video as always!
We have a 2016 Model S and an early 2018 Model 3. The refresh for the S happened in June 2016. The interior has changed a huge amount compared to the early cars (2012-mid-2016). Much better seats, center console, much better interior materials, better build quality. Overall I like our S better than our 3. The 3 is more advanced and a driver’s car where the S feels a lot more like a luxury car. The S is much quieter, smoother, the larger screen and instrument cluster make it easier to use. Especially on trips, you can have the Nav and energy or other data up at the same time. The S we have cost only about $10k more than our 3. Since we got it in late 2016, they really increased the price and added a lot more performance and standard features. We came from 5 previous Mercedes, Audi and BMW. The last Mercedes was a ML63 AMG. I don’t miss it and will never go back to gas. Now with the 3 taking up the lower end of pricing, I hope Tesla makes the S more focused on luxury to match Mercedes E/S class, high end BMW or Porsche.
Agreed. We’ll never go back to a gas car. Teslas are truly amazing. I have to say though I like the 3 better than the S. It just feels more modern. The S is beginning to feel a little dated. But I have no doubt that the refresh of the S will be amazing.
RichRebuilds has a video about it... "If you want to murder your kids, put'em there". Apparently on a hot summer day that compartment gets extremely hot no matter what you do with the climate control.
@@passing_bye5991 The option is actually still available and so is the sunroof. You just have to order in person. It's only "not available" for ordering online.

The Model 3 the one under performance the one we picked out is 59600, I would love to know what others think, We're not rich, we only paid 110 thousand for the house 20 years ago. Perhaps keep my Avalon, with 58 thousand miles on it as of May 2019
I have a 3 and other than the occasional Netflix viewing, I would prefer the vertical screen. It would be easier from a reach standpoint and the 3 cuts off things like song titles. I think my biggest gripes are the terrible intermittent wipers and there needs to be tint at the top of the windshield. In the winter with the low sun, I am constantly blinded even with the visor down.
Agreed the steering is numb but the steering does not have to be 'too light', there are three options any one of which can be selected from the touch screen to adjust the weight of the steering.
WiZe1972 I agree that the S is much more attractive. The 3 still has that quirky EV look at the front of the car. Nonetheless, the Performance 3 is awesome.
I thought about it this way when deciding: If you need space, model 3 is out. I bring strollers, bikes, skis etc and the S just swallows stuff. The X is even better, 5 seater could stora basically anything except when you're moving:p If you want efficiency, X is out, its quite thirsty and you probably need the 100Kwh battery making it a very expensive vehicle. If you want a super zippy car nr. 2 for commuting and fun, model 3 is the best (probably BMW i3 is even better though imo, but shitty range). So I went for the S 75D and I'm super happy:) By far the best car I've ever owned or even tried. Good luck!

19:07 nope wrong. Tesla recommends to charge it daily to 80-90% only. Since letting a li-ion battery sit at 100% let it degradate pretty fast. So before you do a long trip, just set it to 100% and start driving. And you get the full range - that's what Tesla recommends.
I was told less than 10% of the Model S were ordered with a sunroof which is why they stopped offering it. Just looking at this vs my Model 3 I can't believe how cluttered the steering column looks. I looked at the S and thought the M3 was a much better interior styling

countries like Netherlands and Denmark, almost everyone there drives a Tesla. There are tons of Government incentive programs available for people. I wish here in Canada, our governments could've done something like that
They had but too many of our taxes are used for government employees to drive a car over 100gs. They dont need a tesla for work. A volt is just as good. I thi k that's why they cut it out. For cars over a 100.
They offered an 8k incentive on EV's. Not sure what's happening because the Ontario gov. was sued by tesla for dropping it or something like that. I think it should be high to get more EV's on the road. Gas cars are last century. Wish I could afford one. :/
@@youtubasoarus The Ontario Gov was NOT sued by Tesla for dropping the incentive. They were sued because when the incentive program was ended, Tesla was SINGLED OUT, leaving its customers (who had already ordered the car prior to the announcement) out of $14,000. Every other manufacturer got a "phase out" period, in which customers who had ordered the car prior to the announcement, had a month or 2 to take delivery and still be eligible. In other words, the lawsuit wasn't about dropping the EV rebate program. Tesla won it's lawsuit against Ontario, but because that's not what they were suing about, doesn't mean it's going to come back.

This car is simply wonderful. The range is insane and the comfort just stunning. I have a Model X and a Porsche GT and let me tell you this shits on both of them. Period. The only negative is the build quality which is very inconsistent. My test model had leaks and issues with the seats, windows, lights and brakes. Minor issues, yes and perhaps early model issues but it was a tester from late 2018.
That car is very rare in Delaware. I've only seen this car and a white one.
FYI, the current "Long Range" Model S starts at $72k and does 0-60 in 3.7 seconds with 370 mile range
the P100 D is the one to get the rest are for those who wished they could
My dream car!
Incredible stats/looks. If this was 45k new-the eurotrash market would instantly die.
Review the new Ford ranger please!!! Ill never buy a vehicle without watching you review it first!!!

countries like Netherlands and Denmark, almost everyone there drives a Tesla.
@@tlf361 Ah, I see. Thanks for the info! :) Yeah, I hope they keep the incentive. I think we need more EV's on the road.
@@youtubasoarus I hope so too, but tbh, 14K was a bit ridiculous lol. I liked the concept though (funds coming from cap and trade)
Interior looks really boring to me, it may just be the black one but it’s not something you’re expecting at its price point.
I’ll be really upset if they get rid of the 17 inch vertical touchscreen and the 13 inch instrument cluster
i agree. The Model S interior should be more involved as it is the flag ship. and i love the ergonomics and look of the Model S dash. I pray they dont mess it up and drop it down to model 3 look. the old Model S will be hard to get i believe on that look alone.
Great review, thanks!
Look so much better than the m3
I’m from Delaware
Until, the Tesla models receive a ‘heads up display’ option, I can’t purchase one. The 2015 Genesis 3.8 (G80) that I own has this option. I no longer view the speedometer.
You literally took the words out of my mouth as I was thinking it at exactly the same time: One trick pony. Rapid INITIAL acceleration is pretty much all it's got over any other car, and the interior is a friggin' disgrace for such an expensive vehicle. Now let's get started on the quality and reliability...
For a non-spirited driver, what is the realistic range of the 75D? is 250 miles realistic? We are considering moving from our 2015 85D to a 2018 75D to get more warranty
It's mandatory to have a real dedicated button to turn on hazard lights (this has nothing to do with Tesla doing the right thing for its customers).
