I just listened to another perfectly competent performance of these two works and wondered why they left me so unmoved. So I listened to this performance again, and this time what struck me most was the expressive use of dynamics: both horizontally (in terms of the phrase arc) and vertically (between the hands). Singly or together, these brothers are just utterly perfect in everything they play, down to the minutest detail! I'm awestruck all over again! They are such a treasure.
Arthur plays so beautifully, I am so glad he is out there with so much intelligence and sensitivity, sharing his gifts with the world! I'm not sure I've ever hear these impromptus done so excellently!

Number 3, starting at 5:40, is just beautiful. Arthur is on the same level as great masters that excelled on this piece, such as Alfred Brendel, Maria Joao Pires or Valentina Lisitsa. Delicate touch, expressive interpretation. Bravo!

I've noticed that the brothers together or separately, in the way their bodies move and in their facial expressions, must feel the music in an almost physical way; remarkable. It's as if each of them enters a reverie at the start of the piece and only comes out of it at the end; the way they close their eyes is part of the feeling.
Previous decades had masters like Horowitz, Rubinstein playing Schubert. Now we have Jussen. Sublime playing. And also the wonderful Valentina Lisitsa.
This is certainly the best interpretation of this wonderful Schubert's impromptu... Marvellous👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏. Arthur, my best compliments from Italy!!!! I'm your fan😊😊😊😊👍👍👍👍👍

A beautiful performance.
The articulacy of each note in the first piece, married with the clean pedalling created the impression of pearls. Wonderful. The performance of the second piece was equally measured and presented beautiful colour. If this is how he performs now, goodness know how incredible his output will be when he is in his forties and fifties. Something to treasure in the future. I shall be watching both brothers and hope to see them play in person one day. All my best to you, Arthur, and to your esteemed brother. 🙂

Now I have added this performance to my list of favorite versions of Schubert's Impromptu in G flat, together with those of Brendel, Kempff and Lipatti. No particular order.
I also like Horowitz version of No 3 too.
Try Zimerman and Bashkirov also. But indeed, Arthur holds up with the best of them.

No Improptu op. 90, n. 2, são impressionantes a exatidão, a sonoridade, a igualdade na força e a perfeição do toque de Arthur. Ele é exatíssimo. Nenhuma nota é tocada nem a mais nem a menos de sua força precisa. Ombreia-se com Horowitz, e se não se diz que o ultrapassa, é por uma questão de respeito à maturidade e a excelência dele (Horowitz).

Against WHAT norm?
Boring ones.
"Boring" is subjective. The NORM should be to respect the partitura, and with Schubert this is only boring if one cannot notice the beauty of the composition itself, which is exciting even if played on a synthesizer. But I agree with you that the interpretation by this artist is more enjoyable than most ones.
