I am always on the look for new recordings by the Jussen brothers. Each find is a gem, and this is a magnificent polished, flashy Rachmaninoff diamond. It is the most brilliant synchronized and sensitive work yet!
Gorgeous music by an all-time favorite. Romanticism gets a rebirth in the human heart when such perfection and sensitivity blend to breathe new life into every listener. Hope abounds in every luscious harmonic progression and every spectral melody.
The videographers, per usual, are getting in the way with the constant pans and zooms and intercuts. The important artistry here is the playing. The visuals are trying to steal the limelight and ruining the performance. This can be enjoyed only away from the screen. Why haven't Lucas and Arthur fired those no talents?
