    Just got mine. Can't wait to get back home off the road for my off time and get it assembled. Then getting it out to the field and flying my first edf jet.

    It looks beautiful and fast with a Inrunner!

    It looks pretty cool. Very similar to the FMS/ROCHobby Viper Jet. The sprung undercarriage looks better though. One thing I never understand with models like this is why use 4 servo plugs on the wing!? Just use a single MPX 6 pin connector. It makes removing the wing so much simpler. I wish manufacturers would use them from the factory. It was the first thing I did with the Viper Jet, and made a massive improvement for transportation.

    That is one fast 70mm jet.

    I just got mine today. Needless to say all the guys at work think it's cool! But, you forgot to mention the clear plastic pieces included with the kit. They look like hinges to me? No mention in the book about what they are. Are they optional hinges?

      Yes, they come with many freewing aircraft. They are for fixing a broken control surface

    I fly planes fpv,,,and I want to fpv this...I like to cut a flat spot in the canopy for my fpv gear that moves from plane to plane... my question please...how solid is the canopy? If you cut a flat spot across 1 in up from the base could it support fpv cam and dji air unit? thanks

      She has trailing links on all 3 main gear and no cheaters underneath. So she is grass capable for sure, but all grass fields are different.

    Sweet jet. I wish Motion/Freewing would start selling these BNF like Eflite.

    • @56Gumball
      @56Gumball 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      BNF is ok if your a Spektrum user, but here in Europe most prefer PNP as we mostly use Futaba , Multiplex and Graupner radio.

    • @johnsons74thsquadron74
      @johnsons74thsquadron74 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If Motion would sell these as BNF’s, they would come an with Admiral receiver, not Spektrum. That’s a problem for guys like me who only use Spektrum products. I’m okay with PNP models.

  • @snoriverrc3842
    @snoriverrc3842 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I've never had a plane with retracts, so my first question is, if I am using, lets say a 6ch Spektrum 631 receiver how do you configure the retracts? Seems like I'd be short a channel on a 6 channel receiver if I want SAFE to be available. Would you put them on a Y cable with the flaps since in most cases you would use them together?

    • @shelbyseelbach9568
      @shelbyseelbach9568 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      SAFE is simply a function of the receiver, it is not a "channel" of output on the receiver. It is simply a communication between the RX and the TX that effects the signal ouput that the RX sends to control surface channels. It can be set to any switch that isn't already doing something else. You plug servos and throttle and landing gear intothe different channels in the receiver. SAFE is already in the receiver and is not a component of the plane that you have to plug in, if you know what I mean.
      Throttle, flaps, ailerons, elevator, rudder/nose gear steering, and retracts... these are you six channels, landing gear and flaps are assigned to switches of your choice in the setup of your radio. These will be channel 5 and 6 on the receiver typically. The gear simply plug in to the channel you assign, as do the flaps.

    • @snoriverrc3842
      @snoriverrc3842 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I guess I am used to assigning SAFE to the Gear channel, and thats whats confusing me. I have an NX8 now, so I should be able to assign it to Aux 2 and set that to an unused tx switch, if I am understanding things correctly.
      Thanks.

    • @shelbyseelbach9568
      @shelbyseelbach9568 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@snoriverrc3842 The real answer is, you don't need SAFE. If you are up to an NX8, you have been flying long enough to fly without it. The plane doesn't require it and will fly like just fine without SAFE, as well pretty much every plane out or there. None of my current 16 plane fleet even has a gyro, even my 90mm EDFs. Simply not required.

    • @MotionRC

      The included hinges are only an option if, over time, the foam hinges start to fail. They are not required to be installed at all. Watch our quick tip on repairing foam hinges: th-cam.com/video/2s9ThXbyyJM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=KFgRNmcEW_4k8qCu

    why cant i calibrate my esc i am using futaba radio and receiver how do i do this? all i hear is a fast beeping noise and motor twitching as soon as my controller is on and throttle up down doesnt work

    • @MotionRC
      @MotionRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      You might need to reverse your throttle channel sometimes Futaba is opposite of other transmitters. Power off the model reverse your throttle channel then plug in and see if you can calibrate. Make sure to hold the model in case it powers on with throttle engagement so it doesn’t run across the room.

    I would like to use a 6 channel receiver with built-in gyro ( before all you say it!!!! Not a matter of need..... it's want!!!! Insurance if you will)
    Where do I need to mount the receiver for best gyro control?

      hi anthony how is your vulcan i only recently set mine up but not sure how to calibrate it to my controller the recevier is connected and when press test flight controls they move but controller functions done work. ive seen youtube tutorials and they say keep throttle to 100 and the connect power to plane and move to zero however i just get constant fast beeping from the plane. do you know why this is?

      It's not a logic module. I have them in all of my models with retracts and flaps. Very simple circuit board. Saves time,money,space and weight.
