    Well done . Nice flight . Incredible flight time.

      Thanks. I'd sure like to see the rest of the EDF market crack the code and get those flight times up to 7-8m. One of the best features of the plane.

    Nice review! I love my V1. Just a thought, if you had to put in that much elevator trim then you should move your battery forward a bit.

      I missed out on the first round of the V2. They're sold out again at MRC right now. This is going to be a crazy popular model I think.

    I have both the Avanti V2 and a FMS BAE Hawk (tuned with a 2100 kv motor). I like the BAE Hawk more - it is faster, has a much better sound, is as easy to land as the Avanti and IMO looks better.

      @RCVideoReviews  17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The Hawk is definitely a good looking plane. I had that one, just didn't get the same flight time out of it.

      I get around 6m of flight time with 6s5k. So you could reasonable expect 80% of that time--somewhere around 5m.

    Great video and plane. In your general opinion what is the best brand of planes Freewing or FMS. Some claiming the FMS are build better and lighter in general.

    • @andrehilgersom1707
      @andrehilgersom1707 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      My 2 cents: I have flown the V1 for a long time, I don't see very impressive improvements in the new version; the landing gear is still weak for instance. There are a couple of Vipers from E-Flite and FMS (same build, just different colors') on our field and I'm more impressed with their quality. So I ordered one of those. Maidened one for a club member as well; went nice.

    • @RCVideoReviews
      @RCVideoReviews  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think Freewing and FMS both have good planes. Generally speaking I think you'll find pros and cons to each. I generally steer clear of E-Flite.

    • @andrehilgersom1707
      @andrehilgersom1707 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Agreed: you can't even buy the E-Flite version in pnp; it's with receiver or no receiver and no power train. At least the FMS version gives you that choice. But I'm all for not sponsoring Horizon.. Too bad they buy all the brands.@@RCVideoReviews

      @andrehilgersom1707 I agree. The only real improvement is the fan and esc in my opinion. I did the 12b fan upgrade in my v1 and am pretty happy with it.

      Although sport jets, there's much different between the Viper 90mm and the Avanti V 1/2 80mm. I have 100s of hours with both. I prefer the Avanti anytime, anywhere...100% more docile and entertaining and faster.

    Nice! Too off at 4:00, landed at 8:00, ~4min flight time. I have this in V1 and my E-flight Viper 90mm, I go-to y Avanti more than the Viper every time. The Avanti is just more "entertaining" for my flying style.

    • @RCVideoReviews
      @RCVideoReviews  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can't count video time as flight time as videos get cut (trying to remove segments when the plane isn't very visible or there is a lull in conversation). I usually get 5:30-7:00m on this plane depending on how I'm flying it. I have no other EDF that can stay in the air as long.

  • @solarsynapse
    @solarsynapse 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    7 minutes? Gliding? Mine runs about 3.5 minutes using mostly half throttle with a 5000mAh pack.

    • @RCVideoReviews
      @RCVideoReviews  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Guess I have good batteries. Dunno what to tell you. Both the v1 and v2 have been the same. I do what I want with them and get 6m+ regularly.

    • @daysdesigns
      @daysdesigns 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Because he rarely flies full throttle. That's key. It's definitely not because he's using Liperior Batteries.

    • @RCVideoReviews
      @RCVideoReviews  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don't think "rarely" is a fair assessment. I've been flying the Avanti v1 and v2 both with plenty of full power segments: Hammerheads, big air loops, cuban 8's, burner runs, knife edge, etc etc etc....all hammer down.
      I still regularly get 6.5m per flight. So saying I "rarely fly full throttle" is just incorrect.

    • @solarsynapse
      @solarsynapse 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@daysdesigns Yep. 80A/5A=16 60M/16=3.75M (3 minutes & 45 seconds) 3.75Mx.80=3.00M for a 20% safety margin and to not kill the battery. At 40A you would have 6.00 minutes of run time.

      I run zeee 6s 6000mah 50c packs and get about 4min with lots of WOT passes and come down with 20 to 25% left. My spektrum 6s 5000mah 50c packs only give me about 3 mins of the same flying and come down at 14%.
