I met Harley Gheen (NASA designer) more than a decade ago and fell in love with his boats. I shot some videos for him (the old videos are still showing on the www.Gheenoe.net site). I filmed his story of designing the Gheenoe and his fantastic success in the boat business. Since Harley's passing, his son Sam, a long-time boat builder himself, personally runs the operation.

I happen to know that he is rigging a special Bimini top on it this week if he can before his knee operation.
Have you ever done an exploratory trip up the St.Johns river from Sanford? I always hate to do those long (6 gallon) runs without another boat. When the weather gets nice I'd love to make that trip.
@@FLexploreDotOrg I have been using the sanford Lake Monroe Wayside Boat Ramp twice a week because I have been Crappie fishing. The lake is ripe for crappie fishing now and is soft on the LT-25 since I don’t have to rinse and wash the boat from saltwater.
@@chaguie07171959 You really need to do a video on it. I have got to learn to Crappie fish. I wanted to go out this week, but the weather reports were so bad. Sunday afternoon turned out to be really nice. Unfortunately, I had a show. As you might know by now, for a living, I do comedy and oversee a school program in the Dominican Republic in my spare time. Maybe I can get you to teach me one day.
@@FLexploreDotOrg I learned to crappie fish from a guy I met at the River off high banks boat ramp. If you like I can show you and meet you at the Lake Monroe Wayside Boat Ramp. Let me know when you want to do it. I usually fish anytime the weather and wind permit from Monday- Friday.

Great question. The Gheenoe LT10 and the LT25 are produced by Custom Gheenoe by Pugar Gheen. The boats shown here are all the boats being produced by Gheenoe.net, the original Gheenoe company. We do love the Custom Gheenoe boats, too. I owned an LT 25 for many years. It is the reason I now own the Super 16. Having the other Gheenoes over the years, and then the LT25 was my inspiration for this latest version (Super 16) being in my garage. Thanks for commenting.
@@FLexploreDotOrgbeing that you owned both the LT25 and now the Super 16, which would you say is larger and more stable? I know the S16 is rated up to 40 HP. Just looking for honest opinion.

Compare a gheenoe with a jeep is almost an insult😂. Jeeps back then? Ok. But the day that Gheenoe start ordinary, money grabbing crap like those Patriots and so forth of nowdays then that’s when the Gheenoe brand dies
