$8k whole package is the winner. The 40hp is spot on for pushing 2 real size men and the added hp means lower rpm still holds plane and skims over those mangrove flats. The motor is 230lbs and the captain should be as well. Was on one that was old 40 rude vro that was 180lb and atlas micro jp taking up 30lbs and no porpoising issue at wot. I So many remolded makes out there and just not enough attention to glass layup and where strength added in the super 16. Stick steer = OMG helva great time as captain. I love that you can be the captain and have the bow to cast making this a one man fishing machine. I hate that this rig has exposed wires and that should be addressed in conduits or looms. Great video and enjoyed watching. Thanks for sharing with us all.
@@JackedUpFishing Wants bigger? 99% the time that's what I hear when people get into then out of a micro skiff. There is something to be said for deck space and addition ballast. I love my custom 18 ft cathedral hull rolled gunnel skiff for the task that this type craft does. I have side console so deck space makes the craft feel more of a 19-21 ft cc skiff. And knowing its limitations, ie blue water or wot open runs 2 and over, makes mine the perfect platform to crab, shrimp, lobster, flounder gig, and bridge fish. And paid for adds to the charm lol. I fish with a partner and imo this is perfect for conversation while working and staying out of each others way. Hope your pal finds the one he always wanted. The Sundance DX 18 is similar to mine and available in side console.
I was looking at micro skiffs in the 12’ - 14’ range but I’m seriously considering a super 16 Gheenoe for the stability from what I’ve seen in videos like this one.
My buddy has one that we used to fish out of a lot in the lagoon, great platform for one person and okay for two people. The 25 tohatsu he has keeps the weight down in the back so it rides well
Yeah, I used to play around in a few Gheenoes when I was younger too. I thought this one was cool because it was bigger than the normal Gheenoe. Its actually a real boat lol. Still 2 people max though for sure. The 40hp on this thing is an absolute beast. I just put a power pole micro on it this week and did a video on it.
I'll add this , these boats do porpoise some because most people that use stick steering rig the stick to far back. Need the seating steering position to be about 75 percent up from the back , not 50 percent. It helps balance the weight even more and it gets on plane very fast and you sorta ride just ahead where the waves make contact with the boat under you. Makes for a more comfortable ride and it turns even better and with a jack plate you can get in some really serious shallow water.
@@JackedUpFishing Here is a good video showing you how far up the stick steering can be and the behavior of the boat start at 5:43 th-cam.com/video/yqSlVJEAmxc/w-d-xo.html
I’ve have been running these back creeks my whole life. I know every little nook and cranny in this area. Never seen a gator but have hit bottom numerous times. That’s shallow water fishing. Happens all the time
Ghee-new is the correct pronunciation. Gheen is the builders last name and he liked fishing out of canoes but didn’t like the tippy ness of the canoe. So he designed the Gheenoe.
Yeah it’s a little company in Florida, really surprised it’s not out there though. Kind of like my bay boat. I have a Shoalwater made in Texas and no real dealers here in Florida for them as well.
I keep a 13 footer with Honda 5 horse on a small but long river and 2 inches of water is not a problem. Honestly I was shocked at how shallow this thing can float in. Also i can pee off of it no problem and it will not tip over. Not even close. Amazing little boat and fun.
If it porpoises the motor is getting trimmed up to much if that’s not it adjust the pin on the motor. I’m going to catch hell for this one but get rid of the whale tail they never work and you’ll get a little more speed.
@@BigKahuna_outdoors nice I am building 1 grizzly tracker 1754. It’s in my videos. I am doing everything I ever wanted to do floor welded in , rear flotation sponses, decks etc
Hmmmmm.... I do not know what to say to that! I pretty much cover everything about this boat from measurements, fish-ability, and over all handling of the Gheenoe. But hey can't please everyone I guess. Thanks for watching.

@@JackedUpFishing so did he sell it and what made him want to get rid of it?
@@Colonel1Bravo yep he sold it at beginning of the year. He needed something can can take 3-4 people. He got a Hewes 16 Bayfisher or Bonefisher.
Wires come from the factory loomed. Those look aftermarket.

Yeah they are good, but have their purpose just like the micro skiffs! I am a fan of the micro skiff as well. Very very light which the gheenoe is not
Good for two guys
I’m your size n have had every model
fished out of the them for 15 years never an issue
Yeah! tell you what, I am still pretty impressed. really versatile rig for the backwaters
I have a 2012 with 25 yammaha and a bobs hyd jackplate. Zero porpoise issues with the 25 on the back.
Yep I think that’s the perfect fit for the super 16 honestly
Great review Bill! That thing looks so fun!
Thank you
Thanks for the off brand comments!

Nice job Bill! I strongly considered the gheenoe back in the day, but no room for the family. Nice little solo fishing rig though for sure.
Thanks! Yeah this one is the bigger model but 2 people max.
Best part of this boat is no room for family, lmao.
Question could front seat possibly be moved toward front about One Foot? Curious your thoughts on this.
Yeah I think it definitely could. But it might limit seat movement. Not sure. But I think it could open up boat little more

no trim tab?
No sir!

Yeah I see why now for sure
Don't you have to worry about hitting semi submerged objects at high speed , or maybe even gators in the salt marshes and canals ?

Great little boats. I’ve had 2 of them. The bigger one like this would help as the normal 15’s are a little tippy. Agree that 40 hp is too much.
Totally agree! I am actually in the process of reviewing a Gheenoe Classic now and its a tad more tippy. lol

Love the Geonoe. (Sp) ? Calm water boat . Don’t go where big boat wakes can swamp you.
Did you mention the draft?
Thanks for watching! Good catch, no I did not mention the draft. But it honestly draft 6-7 inches sitting still.
@@JackedUpFishing Thanks... Would love to have one.!
Great review- liked the running footage. Always thought a console would be the tits, but stick looks like a better use of floor plan, IMO.

It had tilt and trim. Only porpoised when trimmed out.
Needs a planing plate on motor. No more bouncing.
Yeah maybe that would help.
Put trim tabs on it
Kind of a small rig for that. I think weight displacement prob would do a lot for this rig
