I'm truly envious of you for being able to discover the fascinating world of Skyrim for the first time! I've said for years, if there is one game I would choose to lose all memory off & rediscover, it would be Skyrim! & for your first play through, stay away from Survival mode especially on higher level difficulties Noone will mock you for choosing a lower difficulty on your first play through, People who have played for years struggle with that one! @@LucilleGirlGamer I'm sure you won't haha! 😊 If you level up stealth & archery, most enemies will essentially be one shot! I always go light armor, stealth & archery with one handed for close encounters But everyone is different, you'll probably find a build that works for your style after a few hours.

@@LucilleGirlGamer Next time you decide to delve into the game, open the skill tree and you'll see the individual trees in relation to Archery, Stealth etc They level up by being used, so use a bow and sneak & you'll level them! Hahaha I understand, wait until you go into a tomb & you meet Draugr for the first time haha!

The horse getting in front of Hadvar at the character creation part is such a good introduction Skyrim. Basically the entire experience in a nutshell right there.

Lucille is playing the Legendary Edition of Skyrim (2013) (refer to the video's description), which Bethesda discontinued shortly after the release of the Special Edition in late 2016. It's safe to say that version (Legendary Edition) consists of more bugs.
I cannot express how funny it is to hear you say: "so imperials are bad, and stormcloaks are good?" as a dark elf, that is so freaking funny. I can't wait for you to go to windhelm.
Finally an actual reaction/play through without having a whole stream box ruining a first time experience. This is an actual "first time" playing. Not that stream whole chat box on the side giving away spoilers and just ruining what a "first time" playing experience should be.
Thousands of hours of playing of this game, tens or hundreds of hours watching others play this game, and yet this is the first time I've seen the horse glitched in the character customization scene. :)
I am same but I had horse glitch twiced on myself during character creations! It was interesting trying to do character creation with horse face blocking my character's face! It was hilarious character's face outcome in the end! LOL , he was called Horseface the Avenger as Redguard and he was continually flirted with by npc characters! I couldn't stopped laughing through his whole playthrough because of his wacky face. 😂 ❤
Like your first kiss you will always remember your first play through of Skyrim. After years of modding this game with hundreds if not a thousand mods and all the characters created and played up to the Ebony Warrior you kinda get jaded with the main quest. Take your time and enjoy it. It is really the best game I've played ( and I started out with Pong in the 70's)

My first death in skyrim was trying to get through a door at the start , with my hands still tied. The one before that , you press a button to enter. That one , you just move forward. I stood there long enough the dragonfire got me. I'm still mad about it, and this was on the PS 3, so maybe 10 years ago , now...
My first death in Skyrim? Actually right before entering Helgen Keep (with either Hadvar or Ralof). I took too long trying to decide between them, Alduin landed in the middle of the area and fried me.
A few points. - The player always begins Elder Scrolls games as a prisoner of some sort and soon escapes or is released. Dunmer -dark elves - have grey skin and red eyes. That's why you had such limited options to alter them when creating your character. By following Ralof rather than Hadvar into the keep, your character is leaning towards the Stormcloak side of the civil war, but you are not yet committed. I suggest that you find out more about both factions before deciding which, if either, of them to join. You don't need to read out books like the Book Of The Dragonborn to the viewers. We've already read it. But you may get a few veiled references to what the game is about if you read it yourself later. In underground systems there are sometimes strategically placed pools of oil on the floor. Your flame spell set one of those oil pools ablaze when you attacked the Imperial archers. Survival mode is for more experienced players. I wouldn't enable it on your first playthrough.

@@LucilleGirlGamer Yes, the main questline is concerned with dragons. If you go far enough in the main questline, it becomes apparent that the civil war will hinder the efforts to save the world. If you haven't joined either faction or if you have joined one, but haven't made them win yet, a peace council will take place to stop the war at least temporarily (though for the whole playthrough I'm pretty sure, so if you actually want one side to win, you should help them win before that option gets locked)

That blue mountain flower along the path combined with wheat , later , at an alchemist workbench , makes a healing potion. I usually add lavender, to increase conjuration. And the value of the potion increases the alchemy skill more.

I'm happy you're enjoying your first time trying out Skyrim. I've played Skyrim since I was 12 and have forever cherished it as my all-time favorite go-to game till today. I'm always hit with the most nostalgia when I hear the game's music while exploring caves and dungeons. Btw, if you'd like a really nice difficulty to play on, Adept and Master have always been my favorite. I play on Adept starting out as a new character, then around level 30 I switch to Master to make the game a bit more challenging. The ultimate way to survive any difficulty is to create healing and fortify health potions. It's my miracle potion for crazy boss and dragon battles. My recipe: Blue Mountain Flower and Wheat. These ingredients are both growable in the Hearthfire homes.
I love watching people experience my favorite game for the first time! I wish I could go back and experience it for the first time myself, but since that isn't possible, watching others is the closest I'll ever get. To answer some of your questions you asked throughout this video, no spoilers I promise: Why do I need salt piles? Salt piles are like the bone meal you picked up, and are alchemy materials or "ingredients" is what Skyrim calls them. These can be used to make potions or poisons at alchemy tables. Do I need to read this book? Probably not. This question is asked by just about everyone playing Skyrim for the first time, and you'll notice quickly that there are a TON of books in Skyrim, and unless you want to spend hundreds of hours reading every single book, no, there's about 15 or so that are actually worth reading for the average player and the rest can be skipped. A quick Google search will answer that question or my list: The Great War, The Mirror, The Real Barenziah, The Locked Room, Breathing Water, 2920 The Last Year of the First Era, The Wolf Queen, The Adventures Of Eslaf Erol, Mannimarco King Of Worms, Immortal Blood, and maybe Lusty Argonian Maid for a bit of humor. Should I play on survival mode? No, I wouldn't for your first playthrough. There's so much to explore in Skyrim that worrying about surviving would just distract from the game I think
This game really caught my attention when I started playing it. I've played as four of the different races: an Argonian, beat it as a Nord and as a Khajiit, and now playing as a High Elf. As many times as I've played, I still get jump scared every time my character gets attacked by any of the wild beasties or dragons.

@@LucilleGirlGamer Yep, if you have an amulet of Mara on your neck, some NPCs will notice it and comment on you looking for love, implying that they might also be looking for love. Then you can ask them to get married. But as orsted said, it is only some NPCs and you have to have done some kind of favor for them to make them like you. If you bring the Golden Claw to the Riverwood Trader guy, I think you can marry his sister for example. AAAaaaand you can adopt kids too if you have the Hearthfire DLC! Either from an orphanage or some homeless kid from some hold capitals. But you need to own a house for them to move into and I think it needs to have a kids’ room.
Greetings from Georgia, U.S.A. One tip I have learned, Missions have no time limit. So when in a cave or building, take your time and explore. Also most businesses are open from 9 a.m. to 7 pm. I do believe. If you are planning to be a Bow and arrow player, arrows will drop over distance, so if you are aiming over long distance remember this. Don't play survival mode on your first play through wait and do that on your next play through. I enjoyed watching a new play experience this game, just enjoy the play and try not to rush, looking forward to your journey.
Love seeing a first time player of this wonderful game. I have been playing it since it first came out...BTW Your accent sounds perfect for a dark elf female.
I would only recommend survival mode to players who already know the game well and want to spice it up. Vanilla Skyrim is more than enough to entertain a new player.

Wow i went up the mountain to see if i needed to give any more tips for lovers stone and a third dragon attacked i am glad you wanted directions i needed the souls. you are lower level so will probably only have saber tooth tiger or a bear attack you also note that mine has gold ore
Loved your playthru, keep 'em coming! I've only been playing Skyrim for a little over a year now, but it is by far the best game in the genre currently. I won't give any spoilers or advice, other than to say after you've played a few dozen hours, look into mods for it, as someone else mentioned. They greatly expand the game in many aspects, and enhance gameplay. Also, I'm really enjoying the fact that you actually respond to most of the comments. It's nice to see a youtuber that's actually interested in interacting with their audience. Kudos, and great job on the video! See ya in the next one!

from dawnstar if you go north to the coast turn right head east along the coast until you see the ground on fire search the ground there and you will find a spell tome for fire cloak read it now you can cast flame cloak any one that hits you catches on fire and is damaged while they are burning
It's a joy watching you play, cuz you are quick and smart. Also I love your accent...Eastern European, right... You are very clear about how you want to play: Sneak and archery. That is the PERFECT combo for this game, cuz the game major favors stealth archers. I'm looking forward to the next episode!

@@LucilleGirlGamer Yes. Blacksmithing. It depends what you want. Magic users use light armour as they give bonus to magic. A rogue (melee-sneaking) use medium armour. You can combine classes and be a mage assassin as you can make weapons from magic with conjuration skills.
Ive been playing the Elder Scrolls Series for years. I definitely suggest playing through the game that came before Skyrim, Oblivion! With all TES titles, there is so much exploring and small details that just show how much the team cared about making a memorable gaming experience.

hello the lovers stone is north east of markarth. from stables go east turn left on road just past salvius farm before the bridge shortdistance go up the mountain on the left before kolskeggr mine you should see it on thr compass north of the mine. lol when i was checking the directions i had 2 dragons attack me at the same time not a problem i am lvl. 135 with this character
Thief skills give you bonuses in archery, sneak, light armor, pickpocket and lockpicking. Warrior are swords, heavy armor, shields. Stealth archer builds are one of the most powerful in this game...you can hit from range but you can switch to swords at close range

Making my standard comment about the Stormcloak soldier who rushed to his own execution. The Thalmor made stopping the Nord worship of Talos one of the conditions for ending hostilities with the Empire. The Empire complied and this is a major reason why Nords in Skyrim took up arms against them. When the priestess invoked the EIGHT divines, not NINE, she was denying the divinity of Talos. So the Nord Stormcloak soldier stopped her, stepping forward and saying, "For the love of TALOS, shut up and let's get this over with."
Nice going, and good luck! I will only give one little tip at this time: check your key bindings in Options. It will tell you a lot of what's available. And yes, you can sprint (for a while - as long as you have stamina left).

I've been watching Grandma Shirley and playing Skyrim again myself lately. Love this! I like to watch people play for the first time and you're doing very well! I love that you say hi to all the animals, I do the same! I even do the little nod with my joystick that you do with the cow ❤️ so I subscribed. I think you made the correct choice not enabling survival mode. And I would wait a long time before picking a side in the civil war. It isn't the only big main quest line to do, just the first one you see. The first time I regretted my choice. I went to Windhelm where the Stormcloak rebellion is located and I found their attitudes to be very racist. I was regretting joining their side. Both have pros and cons. I usually just don't join either side and just ignore the civil war in the game.

@@LucilleGirlGamer I finally did the whole civil war quest and I didn't really get anything special for completing it. Just some gold and a weapon that had an enchantment I already knew and could use to craft better swords myself.
Literally every race in the Elder Scrolls is racist. But the Stormcloaks are in the right. The Empire made a bad deal with the Dominion and threw Skyrim to the wolves because of it. The Redguards of Hammerfell seceded, and so too should the Nords of Skyrim.
I’m starting Skyrim around the same time. I think one week after you. For some reason the system was pre-set to Legendary difficulty and I didn’t know it. Then I saw the Survival popup box and I selected Yes. So this is my first time and I’m actually glad I chose these options. My only regret is not being able to get certain mods working such as better graphics and marrying multiple people.

When you do that option, the guy knows most of the others, if not all, so you get to see their names. I can’t believe that this is the first time you have seen Skyrim, your reaction to Alduin was so cool and unimpressed! I screamed a little the first time I saw him land on that tower, partly out of terror and partly out of admiration! Im planning to watch your whole series of this. On Survival mode, I definitely would NOT choose it for your first playthrough, get to know the game well before attempting that. You have an enormous amount to learn already. ☺️

@@LucilleGirlGamer Yes, the main questline is concerned with dragons. If you go far enough in the main questline, it becomes apparent that the civil war will hinder the efforts to save the world. If you haven't joined either faction or if you have joined one, but haven't made them win yet, a peace council will take place to stop the war at least temporarily (though for the whole playthrough I'm pretty sure, so if you actually want one side to win, you should help them win before that option gets locked)

That blue mountain flower along the path combined with wheat , later , at an alchemist workbench , makes a healing potion. I usually add lavender, to increase conjuration. And the value of the potion increases the alchemy skill more.
Personally I prefer to combine blue mountain flower with a butterfly wing. I find butterflies easier to acquire.

I'm happy you're enjoying your first time trying out Skyrim. I've played Skyrim since I was 12 and have forever cherished it as my all-time favorite go-to game till today.
I'm always hit with the most nostalgia when I hear the game's music while exploring caves and dungeons.
Btw, if you'd like a really nice difficulty to play on, Adept and Master have always been my favorite. I play on Adept starting out as a new character, then around level 30 I switch to Master to make the game a bit more challenging. The ultimate way to survive any difficulty is to create healing and fortify health potions. It's my miracle potion for crazy boss and dragon battles.
My recipe: Blue Mountain Flower and Wheat. These ingredients are both growable in the Hearthfire homes.

I love watching people experience my favorite game for the first time! I wish I could go back and experience it for the first time myself, but since that isn't possible, watching others is the closest I'll ever get. To answer some of your questions you asked throughout this video, no spoilers I promise:
Why do I need salt piles? Salt piles are like the bone meal you picked up, and are alchemy materials or "ingredients" is what Skyrim calls them. These can be used to make potions or poisons at alchemy tables.
Do I need to read this book? Probably not. This question is asked by just about everyone playing Skyrim for the first time, and you'll notice quickly that there are a TON of books in Skyrim, and unless you want to spend hundreds of hours reading every single book, no, there's about 15 or so that are actually worth reading for the average player and the rest can be skipped. A quick Google search will answer that question or my list: The Great War, The Mirror, The Real Barenziah, The Locked Room, Breathing Water, 2920 The Last Year of the First Era, The Wolf Queen, The Adventures Of Eslaf Erol, Mannimarco King Of Worms, Immortal Blood, and maybe Lusty Argonian Maid for a bit of humor.
Should I play on survival mode? No, I wouldn't for your first playthrough. There's so much to explore in Skyrim that worrying about surviving would just distract from the game I think

This game really caught my attention when I started playing it. I've played as four of the different races: an Argonian, beat it as a Nord and as a Khajiit, and now playing as a High Elf. As many times as I've played, I still get jump scared every time my character gets attacked by any of the wild beasties or dragons.

@@LucilleGirlGamer Yep, if you have an amulet of Mara on your neck, some NPCs will notice it and comment on you looking for love, implying that they might also be looking for love. Then you can ask them to get married. But as orsted said, it is only some NPCs and you have to have done some kind of favor for them to make them like you. If you bring the Golden Claw to the Riverwood Trader guy, I think you can marry his sister for example.
AAAaaaand you can adopt kids too if you have the Hearthfire DLC! Either from an orphanage or some homeless kid from some hold capitals. But you need to own a house for them to move into and I think it needs to have a kids’ room.

Greetings from Georgia, U.S.A. One tip I have learned, Missions have no time limit. So when in a cave or building, take your time and explore. Also most businesses are open from 9 a.m. to 7 pm. I do believe. If you are planning to be a Bow and arrow player, arrows will drop over distance, so if you are aiming over long distance remember this. Don't play survival mode on your first play through wait and do that on your next play through. I enjoyed watching a new play experience this game, just enjoy the play and try not to rush, looking forward to your journey.

I would only recommend survival mode to players who already know the game well and want to spice it up. Vanilla Skyrim is more than enough to entertain a new player.

Loved your playthru, keep 'em coming! I've only been playing Skyrim for a little over a year now, but it is by far the best game in the genre currently. I won't give any spoilers or advice, other than to say after you've played a few dozen hours, look into mods for it, as someone else mentioned. They greatly expand the game in many aspects, and enhance gameplay. Also, I'm really enjoying the fact that you actually respond to most of the comments. It's nice to see a youtuber that's actually interested in interacting with their audience. Kudos, and great job on the video! See ya in the next one!

from dawnstar if you go north to the coast turn right head east along the coast until you see the ground on fire search the ground there and you will find a spell tome for fire cloak read it now you can cast flame cloak any one that hits you catches on fire and is damaged while they are burning

Your armor defines two things. Defense and stealth/sneaking. The heavier the armor is more noise you will make and enemies going to detect you.

It depends what you want. Magic users use light armour as they give bonus to magic.
A rogue (melee-sneaking) use medium armour.
You can combine classes and be a mage assassin as you can make weapons from magic with conjuration skills.
Ive been playing the Elder Scrolls Series for years. I definitely suggest playing through the game that came before Skyrim, Oblivion! With all TES titles, there is so much exploring and small details that just show how much the team cared about making a memorable gaming experience.

I usually pick Empire, dating back to my playing the previous Elder Scrolls titles, but I guess as a scandinavian I should pick stormcloak. I did play as stormcloak once and completed the civil war but I felt heartbroken after and deleted my character lol. My empire or neutral playthroughs have felt better. 😆
to keep from getting overloaded i only take things that have 19 value or more for every 1 weight

hello the lovers stone is north east of markarth. from stables go east turn left on road just past salvius farm before the bridge shortdistance go up the mountain on the left before kolskeggr mine you should see it on thr compass north of the mine. lol when i was checking the directions i had 2 dragons attack me at the same time not a problem i am lvl. 135 with this character

Thief skills give you bonuses in archery, sneak, light armor, pickpocket and lockpicking. Warrior are swords, heavy armor, shields. Stealth archer builds are one of the most powerful in this game...you can hit from range but you can switch to swords at close range

Making my standard comment about the Stormcloak soldier who rushed to his own execution.
The Thalmor made stopping the Nord worship of Talos one of the conditions for ending hostilities with the Empire. The Empire complied and this is a major reason why Nords in Skyrim took up arms against them.
When the priestess invoked the EIGHT divines, not NINE, she was denying the divinity of Talos.
So the Nord Stormcloak soldier stopped her, stepping forward and saying, "For the love of TALOS, shut up and let's get this over with."

I will only give one little tip at this time: check your key bindings in Options. It will tell you a lot of what's available. And yes, you can sprint (for a while - as long as you have stamina left).

Dark elves, also known as Dunmer, were said to have been punished by azura, turning their eyes red and their skin ashen.
Azura in her rage gave them the worst fate to a racist society she darken their skin.

I've been watching Grandma Shirley and playing Skyrim again myself lately. Love this! I like to watch people play for the first time and you're doing very well! I love that you say hi to all the animals, I do the same! I even do the little nod with my joystick that you do with the cow ❤️ so I subscribed.
I think you made the correct choice not enabling survival mode. And I would wait a long time before picking a side in the civil war. It isn't the only big main quest line to do, just the first one you see. The first time I regretted my choice. I went to Windhelm where the Stormcloak rebellion is located and I found their attitudes to be very racist. I was regretting joining their side. Both have pros and cons. I usually just don't join either side and just ignore the civil war in the game.

@@LucilleGirlGamer I finally did the whole civil war quest and I didn't really get anything special for completing it. Just some gold and a weapon that had an enchantment I already knew and could use to craft better swords myself.
Literally every race in the Elder Scrolls is racist. But the Stormcloaks are in the right. The Empire made a bad deal with the Dominion and threw Skyrim to the wolves because of it. The Redguards of Hammerfell seceded, and so too should the Nords of Skyrim.
I’m starting Skyrim around the same time. I think one week after you. For some reason the system was pre-set to Legendary difficulty and I didn’t know it. Then I saw the Survival popup box and I selected Yes. So this is my first time and I’m actually glad I chose these options. My only regret is not being able to get certain mods working such as better graphics and marrying multiple people.
