- Rose apple or moutain apple science name is Syzygium samarangense is a plant species in the family Myrtaceae, native to an area that includes the Greater Sunda Islands, Malay Peninsula and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, but introduced in prehistoric times to a wider area and now widely cultivated in the tropics. In Indonesia it is known as Jambu Air.

we have this in almost every backyard in the rural areas in the Philippines. The bigger variety we call "macopa", the smaller ones we call "tambis", which is the more common, and which i like better.. we have so many we don't sell it. In fact many doesn't appreciate it and ignore it., I often see such trees from other backyards with all its ripe fruits fallen to the ground to rot..
We call it in sri lanka by "jambu"

Wow, I love this fruit a lot. When I was young, I would climb the tree when I see one, no matter if it was on a friend's backyard haha.. Then we finally planted a few trees around our old house, and also in the new house, but luckily the trees are shorter so no need to climb anymore haha 😂..

@@lionolee5480 I did not steal it. I asked permission as always. My mother's friend had a big rose apple tree in their front yard, and then she told me that I could climb the tree and get some of the fruits, all right 😂.
In Indonesia ,we call it Jambu Air , so fresh and sweet , also we added Spicy Nut Sambal ,very delicious !!

It grows easily from the seeds. When the ripe fruits fall on the ground many new saplings come out around the tree.
We have a tree in our backyard and it fruits 3-4 times a year. By the way, I live in a tropical place(India).
In malaysia it grows naturally. No need to cover or anything. When the time comes you pick them from the tree. All nice and juicy. Though not as big as those but tastes better than the one you got from the market. Lol

In Vietnam , we drap up for each one to care this fruit, only keep 2 or 3 fruits per branch , cause they have nice and big , It's also hygiene safe

In these days market price more important than production yield. I witnessed sometime selling price cannot cover pickup cost force the farmer let their fruit ruined on tree. The other factor that when the production increase the price drop
