I grew up in California, we had a Pineapple Guava tree. I remember the taste some 70 years later! We were lucky.
What's your weather zone i want try to grow in Canada zone 5
Really popular in NZ
@scythian404 you're gonna need to grow it indoors or in a greenhouse for sure
I grew up in Los Angeles and there was one of those trees down the street. My friends and I , when we were kids, used to eat that fruit from the tree, but we never knew the name of it. It was good tasting.

Living in Indonesia, I'm glad that some fruits in this list aren't rare for us.
We can found Mangosteen, Dragon Fruit, Salac (Snakefruit), Durian, Rambutan, Jackfruit, Sapodilla, Soursop, Starfruit, and Passion Fruit in the market, especially when it was harvest season.
Don't forget the Star Apple, in Java we call it Genitu/Kenitu.
Wow, that's amazing!
You're really fortunate to have such a diverse range of exotic fruits readily available in Indonesia. It's a luxury that many other countries and regions don't enjoy.
The richness and variety of your local fruit markets must be incredible, especially during harvest season.
Well most of the most special & delicious fruits are in Asia.
We Asian people are special
as always! 🙂
You are very fortunate. I would love to try all of them.
Those grow well here in South Florida as well. I grow my own Dragonfruit, passionfruit, citrus, grapes, bananas, fig, Jamaican strawberry tree, Barbados Cherry tree, I had a starfruit tree but gave it to my neighbor when it was still young. There are people down here that grow everything from from Soursop to mangosteen too. Avacado and mangoes are common.
Makes one want to travel the world on a fruit spree 🎉
Trust me, you're not missing much. I've tried a lot of them shown on the video, not many are good.
While it's interesting to try, the taste isn't there and that explains why they weren't cultivated more around the world.
Bạn chỉ cần đến Việt Nam 😂
I want to be bathed in delicious fruit every day, then my body will become more attractive to all men in the world.
You can find most of these fruits easily in Indonesia, they are mostly tropical fruits. Salak is kind tangy when unripe but almost all of them taste sweet when ripe, truly delicious.
Here in Denver, we have a market that has foods from several countries. I went and saw so many foreign foods, all I could do was just look. The seafood was fresh/alive as well as frozen in smaller quantities.
I was hoping to see food here so I could go back and try some things. Only a handful were featured here.

Watching short videos isn't anything interesting and engaging?
Living Sri Lanka 🇱🇰🇱🇰🇱🇰 I'm glad some fruits in this list are familiar for us
We can easily find magosteen, dragon fruit, Durian, rambutan, jackfruit, Sapodila, Soursop, Tamarillo, cherimoya, lucuma, starfruit, passion fruit
In Mexico I had my first taste of the soursop, but they called it Guanabana. The most delicious fruit ever, tasting like candy! Also, the skin must almost rot before you can digg in for this wonderful sweetness. I find the inside most fascinating with the pure white lobs and many black pits. To me it looks like a sea anemone.
In the Philippines, it is called Guyabano. Very nutritious.
The taste of Passion fruit is so divine, I make it a juice with water and sugar, the seeds can be eaten and has a nutty flavor within the made drink/refreshment.
Or the seeds taste great frozen with sugar added!
Durian is not just my favourite fruit but my favourite food ! Heaven.
Hi
I have eaten at least 15 of the fruits you have mention in this video. As born and Lived in Ceylon which is now called state of Sri Lanka, I have been a fruit lover all my life, so are my children who have passed the fruit palate down to their children.
In the past Ceylon used to be called ‘Garden of Eden’ for its variety of fruits, flowers and the greenery. Please explore fruits of Ceylon. Many Ceylonese do not know or appreciate the taste of the local fruits. Eg. we have 29 varieties of Bananas, and 15 varieties of mangoes. They are rear and exquisite.
Local names: Divul - Wood apple (Limonia acidissima) , Nelli - Gooseberry (phyllanthus emblica), Rata Nelli-Star Gooseberry, Lavulu- Egg fruit ( Pouteria campechiana) , Veralu - Lanka Olives (Elaeocarpus serratus) different taste from Mediterranean Olives, Damson [(prunum) damascenum)], Madan - Black plum or Jamun the Indian name (Syzygium cumini), Dan - Lilly Pilly (Syzygium Caryophyllatum), Kaju - Cashew (Anacardium occidentale), Biling - (Averrhoa Bilimbi), ambarella- golden apples or jew plums (Spondias cytherea), Lovi - Batoko Plum (Flacourtia inermis), Uguressa - the Governor's Plum (Flacourtia indica)…. ect.
Many of these fruits are also used in preparing Ayurveda medicines.
I have 23 fruit trees in my garden. Today I found-out from your video that the 3 Monsterella trees/wines with lots of fruits one of the rear and exotic plant. I use the leaves to decorate church alter flower bowls.
Thank you again for the video.
🤗
I have an uncle from Sri Lanka (through marriage)I've tried some of the most exquisite and flavor packed foods because of him! There are so many different spices and herbs used in Sri Lankan cooking and the fruits are heavenly! I would LOVE to visit Ceylon one of these days😩You are lucky to live in such a gorgeous place 🙏🏽❣️
Exotic fruits are my favorites. So rich and complex flavors. Taste like heaven.
The star apple reminded me of my childhood in the Philippines. They're very sweet, especially when eating ripe in the summer months from early February to early May.
Star apple, ackee, jackfruit are all treats from my youth growing up in Jamaica
@@frankjames6048 cool. How do u call Star Apple over in Jamaica? We call it Star Apple or caimito in the Philippines. I remember we would eat them off of the tree and had to navigate past the sap before we could enjoy the delicious meat. Sometimes we freeze them before eating them.
We would wash the seeds and use them to mark the numbers on bingo cards.
@@user-yw4bs4lk9k We call it t.,he same. Growing on the island, it was a treat
It was very pleasant to watch and dream of sampling the exotic fruits. My favorite are feijoa and white sapote. Thank you for this fruit trip into the tropics.
Temarilo, gac, fejioa, salak, buddahs hand, kiwano, akki, cherimoya, miracle fruit, nostra, savor sop, starapple, sepote, yuzu, baobab, these fruits I never seen in my life and never had chance to taste either, thanks for your introduction. Thanks so much for this. I was pleasantly surprised to see a couple I didn't recognize, which is very exciting!
Cherry Moya is natural ice cream. I am addicted to it.
In Trinidad we have a similar fruit to Cherimoya called sugar apple…Star apple is called caimite, & I am glad I grew up eating a lot of these fruits…soursop, sapodilla, star fruit, passion fruit etc
In the Philippines we have atis. Same consistency. Same flavor as the Cherry Moya but with segmented skins

We have large amount of Feijoa in Georgia (country). You can prepare so many things with it and it so good for your health. Super delicious. Super healthy
We stayed at a friend's house some years ago.At the back garden they had some interesting plants.1 had a fruit that tasted like a strawberry and banana so yummy, the figs were so good .The garden was quite wild. The best garden was my mums garden.apricots so rich and yummy, and peaches that were so full of juice remembering that makes me very happy now.not forgetting dark purple vines of passionfruit and banana passion fruit.God gives us all the fruit and vegetables and herbs and minerals for health and happiness.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
We have most of that fruits in the Philippines.😊
Fantastic video! The narrators voice is very pleasant to listen to. Wish I could try most of these fruits. Very interesting!
Almost everyone has a couple of feijoa bushes in New Zealand. Very popular in smoothies, jams, on it's own, or in hot apple-feijoa crumble, with custard.
Thanks for this great informative video! I absolutely love seeing and learning about foods in different cultures. I wish I could try more exotic fruits, but we don't have a ton where I live in the US. We have the more common ones like dragon fruit, star fruit, and tangelos. If you're lucky you can find more exotic fruits seasonally, but only a handful on this list. I've wanted to try the Buddha's hand for a while because I love anything lemony. I've tried yuzu kombucha before and it was the best I've ever had, but it was sadly discontinued. I hope I get to try the fruits on this list because so many sound delicious!
This was fabulous! So well presented :)
Really enjoyed this wonderful video
Oh wow now this was a mouth watering 🤤 video to watch, I've have eaten the jack fruit, starfruit, dragon fruit, tamarillo, and the passion fruit it's other name is granadillas, . but would love to try the mangosteen ... You've forgotten to mention the Amarula fruit from Africa....

I've found a lot of these fruits in the Singaporean market, mangosteen, dragonfruit, durian, rambutan, baby jackfruit, jackfruit, soursop, yuzu, starfruit, passion fruit, and custard apple(cherimoya) are the ones in the video.
(I just realised that the queen of fruits(mangosteen) is my favourite fruit while the king of fruits(durian) is probably one of my least favourites.)
Would like a fruit salad with all of these. What a unique treat!
I never eat ripe guac but when I was young and still live in Thailand. My mom always made a spicy soup guac for us to eat.
Thankyou for sharing your video 😊👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for watching! Glad you liked it
South America and Asia has a bounty of unusual, but, tasty fruit 🍓🍑🍑🍑. Thank you for the video ❤❤❤
Amazing! Very informative♥️
Happy New Year, my fruit banana (Dwarf cavendish) still managed to bloom in December. I have already sown Passiflora edulis seeds and placed them in the warm house. The banana harvest is expected from June/July and could be a slightly larger harvest by German standards.
I am in culinary heaven! I am familiat with more than half of dozen and am looking forward to explore more!😍😍
The most delicious fruit must be the Peach. also Japanese Pears and Chinese Pears from Anhui province. Persimmon is also great. This video is amazing. ❤❤❤❤❤
Mouth watering delicious looking!
This video makes me miss Indonesia. I don’t love constantly hot weather but the tropical fruits are the best.
Marvelous! Mmm wish I could taste them all!
Beautiful video
I have never heard of many of these. I thought the Durian and Jack Fruit were the same. I would love to try many of them. But I would stay away from the one that is not healthy before true ripeness. I'd end up killing myself. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and beautiful film of all the fruits.
I find that tropical zones produce the best fruit and each seem to have a version of soarsop these ecosystems have some of the most diverse types of life
Thank you for giving me good footage 😘 !
Very informative ♥️👍
I have just had a drink of 32 ounces of delicious passion fruit nectar!
A well informed and Educational video 👍
Очень познавательно) Thank you for the video ❤
what a charming video, thanks.
Living in the province of Philippines during fruits season I have tasted some of these fruits. My first 4 favs mangosteen, jackfruit, durian and sapodilla (chico)Then, sour sop (guyabano), rambutan, dragon fruit, star apple, star fruit (balingbing) and passion fruit.
Chico fruit - I call it nature’s marshmallow. Delicious!
The soursop has a cousin called sweetsop. Just like how it is named, sweetsop is very sweet, the taste is like a ripe banana dipped in sugar with a soft, slightly fibrous texture.
We call it sugar apple in Barbados
We have star apples (kaimito) in the Philippines. I miss those, can't find them anywhere in Texas.
Ackee grows in other island in the Caribbean, but it’s consumed a lot only in Jamaica.
really one of the useful bideo to know about the rare fruits
ONE! How do you pick just one? I'd love to try them all!
I love all of them… the Rambutan is special…
i haven't had a star apple since childhood. i keep trying to describe it to my spouse and i just end up sounding crazy. seeing it in this video legit made me almost cry
I used to eat a lot of Star Fruits, but now it has become increasingly difficult to find them….I miss them. Have no clue about Pomegranates, but for me these are rare, because of where I live. Most of the time I can only find them during fall/winter months, especially around October, November and December. I love these. It is very hard to find many others listed here……would love to find the Tamarillo and see if it could grow in my region…it gets very cold here, but I’m in an area where it might grow okay….👍❤️🙏🏼😇
Want to try Mangosteen!!
Out of this list, I'm only familiar with two fruits. I'm so envious!
I'd try them ALL. How bountiful; feel small in comparison to what nature has to offer.
Awesome video
One of my favorite ice cream flavors in Brasil is the Bacuri fruit, Never seen anyone cover it on these types of videos.
Very well done!
Ojalá tuviera la traducción en español. Está muy interesante. Saludos desde Puerto Madryn Chubut Patagonia Argentina ❤️
in kenya & tanzania we make sweets with baobab seeds called mabuyu addictive sweet & pepper mix
Durian is the king fruit, but the Cherimoya is a good second for my favorite. Only a few fruits I haven't tasted, the Baobab would be nice to try out.
Baobab truly is an exotic fruit! Hard to come by in your local supermarket.
