    This is my son's Infanty Graduation ceremony at Fort Benning, GA Dec. 2019.
    C-150, 198th. 2nd Platoon Cobras!
    Yes, this IS the actual AIT Graduation for Infantry. It's usually held at the Infantry Museum, but they had too many scheduled that day, so it was at the same field they hold the turning green and turning blue ceremonies.
    With Infantry there is only 1 graduation for Basic Training and AIT combined. There was a turning green ceremony after basic and a turning blue ceremony a month later with the graduation following the next day.
    Try not to be an A hole in the comments! I will delete them...or respond like a B. 😁

    Im at 19 years of suck, 5 deployments and now I have 11 months until my retirement letter as an 11B/19D. People ask me if im re enlisting or if its worth getting my E-8... I told them that its all depending on the Soldiers they give me, If ALL the soldiers were as dedicated and motivated as I have seen in this video, I would re enlist. Turning blue is a huge mile stone for all Infantryman, to get that blue cord in FT Benning is something only the few have done and deserved. Im proud to have been apart of such a brotherhood. Bullshit! At 19 years you would already be on indef status. There is no reenlisting at 19 years. Likewise, if at 19 years you are still an E7 in the infantry, then you fucked up some where along the line.

      @@h2oskiaddict Was thinking th he same thing. If I remember right you are only allowed to stay the same rank so long. You either move up aren't offered re-enlistment. I would think he'd be at least a SM or CSM at 19 years in the infantry. I guess he could have lost some rank along the way, but they usually don't make it easy for busted down Joe's to make E-8. I guess some people don't realise that there are only so many First Sgt's in the infantry and at that rank they are able to looked up pretty easily. Last week I had a guy tell me he was a Col. In the Marines infantry. I told him "cool, which of the 34 Colonels are you?"
      Yeah he didn't have an answer.

    • @StrainXv
      @StrainXv 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@ztrojefn996 it all depends on what you want from your Military time in service, are you going Active duty or National Guard/Reserve? You can have a rewarding experience in the Infantry. I myself wasn't Infantry, but my job meant I was integrated with them all the time and part of a platoon of Infantry as a Combat Medic, or a Healthcare specialist. I say when talking to your recruiter try to find one that will be honest and straight up with you about which MOS you are pursuing. Also, I know a lot of the time my guys in my Infantry and Armor platoons when I assigned to them would be pulling more weeds and paint more sidewalks than any other MOS when we weren't out in the field or training. With Airborne you are probably going to end up in a couple of places for a duty station, the main one being Fort Bragg as part of the Glorious 82nd Airborne.

    Greatest time of my life. Basic was the best experience I ever had. I graduated in 1993 (11B). Trained in Ft. Benning Ga. and then stationed in Ft. Drum NY. 10 th Mountain Division 2/14 Infantry (Golden Dragons). As soon as I got to my unit we were deployed immediately to Mogadishu, Somalia (Operation restore hope). In 1994 we were deployed in Haiti (Operation restore democracy). The last training I attended was in Ft. Sherman, Panama for jungle warfare training (jungle expert). This was the best job I ever had. I have to thank all my drill sgt. for teaching me to stay alive during my deployments. When the black hawks went down in Mogadishu we were the QRF at that time. They say, Rangers lead the way but on October 3rd, 1993 2-14 Infantry 10th mountain division…we led the way. My unit received the unit valor award, and was awarded the CIB. I suggest to all the cherries go to every school available and learn as much as you can. I got out in 3 years but I was a 11B/1L linguists. I was also airborne qualified, field sanitation, combat medic, air assault, and weapons expert. I carried the m60, m16a2, m203, LAW, AT4, SAW, 9mm. Hooooah!

      First of all congratulations and thank you for being in the military. I wanna join the military after high school, I’m stuck between the Marines and the Army, especially the Airborne, looking back it, how was the airborne? Is it worth it, I really wanna do airborne but the risk factor of being a career ender is on my mind, like accidents. But overall my bad for asking, I know a lot of people don’t like getting questions, especially like that “should I join”
