I think he literally just searches them beforehand just for the video.
With this game, I knew a lot of the names already, since they are from previous games. I did need to double check when I wasn’t sure.
Ok not to sound like the *aktualy i plaied all de gamez, wached all da cartons and red all de comiks* type of fan but... Who DOESN'T know most if not all of the Badnik names unless you only been a fan for less than a year.
@@Keisezrgs Since most games never even mention enemy names, you have to go out of your way to learn these things. Since the first game, you had to check out the manual. A fan who just plays the games genuinely wouldn't know all the names.

@Hansiza He's not making a scene. He's just pointing out how the challenge isn't much of a challenge when the warp is involved. He does have a point, but it would be such a boring video if that's all I did.
About the update: Do what you want to. If what you used to post isn't satisfying you, then go ahead and change. We will not judge, nor will we ignore those different videos. Have a good one, Knux.
I know this video's 7 months old by now, but at the end you mentioned that people have criticized your script writing in the past. I was definitely one of those people on one of your older videos, and I just wanted to let you know that even in the months between my (frankly too harsh, no idea what I was thinking) criticism and this video, you've improved a ton. I hope this helps give you at least some kind of confidence boost, as these videos are very enjoyable! You being able to take criticism so well and actually improve because of it is a rare trait. Be proud!

To me this sounded easy, but after watching this, it kinda changed my mind, but its easier than most so...
idk if it's the same on PC, but on the Wii U version you can use the B button to double jump even if there are enemies tagreted, only A does the Homing attack, thought I'd mention it, cuz I've 100% made that jump in the past at 10:01.

3DS version has no animal requirement. Just get to the end of the game ✌

Neat video! But, I have to make it clear that this challenge is rather impossible on the 3DS version, as there are sections of the stages in that version that actually requires you destroying a certain amount of badniks to continue the level
Pro Tip: in act 2 of desert hill, there is a secret area where you can get 4 lives, die immediately, and repeat, you will always get 3 lives, do that until you get 99 (the max) trust me, if youre gonna play through this game, especially on later levels, lives are of utmost importance

I actualyl love the "without defeating the badnik" sereies. Frank, I think the scripted content suits you more tbh, and about the criticism considering your script writing - don't feel down - take from it what you need to work on and remember - practice makes perfect
Regarding the update: I believe that you should never force yourself to create things you dislike and I completely agree with your point on the videos being satisfactory. I hope you make videos you like and not force yourself for other things you dislike and best of luck on your next vids! Love the content knux!

Oh hey finally a challenge where they use power ups that spawn after multiple deaths
I only played the 3ds version, son I never knew about the warp. Lmao
Sorry if i seem pedantic but i have *Some notes* :
nº1- 1:15 The 3DS version has no badnik requirments.
nº2- 2:16 If you duck with the Y button and don't move the orbonauts fly pass you
nº3- 2:56 In the 2d section with the mottorbugs you can use the astronaut wisp to get over the first 3 and then parkour the next.
nº4-You can double jump with the b button and it will not homing attack anything.
nº5- 4:35 The robot ants only get defeated if you charge the homing attack or kick them.
nº6- 5:02 You are right there is one enemy that you have to kill to pass through.
nº7- 5:07 You can double jump right pass them and then use parkour on the wall.
nº8- 5:38 In the previous area there is a rocket wisp that can shoot you up to the boss fight.
nº9- 6.19 The apples also hurt the motorbugs it does up the animal count but you don't directly kill them.
nº10- 6:49 Same as in nº 4.
nº11- 7:36 The yetis and boms don't up your animal count, there not badniks.
nº12- 7:32 If you bump into the small yeti they'll actually help you and push you through faster.
nº13- 8:31 Same as in nº 2.
nº14- 9:06 Same as in nº 4.
nº15- 9:21 Same as in nº 4.
nº16- 9:55 You don't need to use the magenta wisp, just spindash on the loop.
nº17- 10:40 Same as in nº4.
nº18- 11:04 Double jump the Crawler.
nº19- 11:17 Spindash off the edge and jump.
nº20- 11:49 Same as in nº4.
nº21- 11:54 You can skip this secction by spindashing off the edge where the spings that led you to this secction are and double jumping after (it is incredibly tricky).
nº22- 12:32 No need to damage boost just go under them by holding the jump button.
nº23- 13:02 You can't damage thoes, not even super sonic (weird, i know).
nº24- 13:43 Same as in nº4.
nº25- 14:26 Same as in nº4.
You only need 2 wing items in order to complete this challenge, one in Desert ruins at the drill area and another on sky road at the Gustaff tourret secction. Sorry if i seem nitpicky but it drove me insane that you took the easy way out so many times. Thanks for comming to my ted talk.
A lot of these could have been avoided, had I know there was a 2nd jump button. This was one of the times where I played a Sonic game I didn't have a lot of knowledge of, despite playing it 3 times before. Far from my best challenge video. If I was willing to, I'd probably redo it.
@@GottaBeFrank to be fair the game never outright says you can do that but it refers to the jump button and homing attack button always as B and a respectably. Sorry again for getting pissy and commenting the whole declaration of independence.

This defeats the entire point of the challenge.
Sorry for the late comment, but it turns out that the BFB does count as an enemy kill (since there is an in-game enemy kill count for one of the missions, and it increases if you kill the BFB). I hope you understand.
Takes more than one hit. I know that's bending the rules, to nearly breaking them, but I established that one a long time ago. Any multi hit enemy, which are rare to come by, and mini-bosses are fair game. This was not one of my better videos made in this series.
@@GottaBeFrank Snowy from Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode II takes multiple hits to defeat and yet they are still a regular enemy. Also, I did think the BFB was a miniboss at first, but I went back and rebeat the level to see if the in-game kill count went up and sure enough it did.
@@GottaBeFrank I had to rewrite my long reply, since it got deleted, so I had to write a shorter version of it.
The part with 3 badniks in windy hill zone 4 might be possible in the Wii U Version.
There are 2 things on the wii u version that i see are not present in the PC Version: Double jump without homing attack, and Equippable Items.
This work like this: If you press the b button in the air, sonic will double jump no matter what, it will ignore targetted enemies. And the Equippable items are 5 slots where by completting certain tasks you can get items to fill those slots, these items include shields.
Now, i tried to jump into the second badnik with the double jump (the double jump is not a ball animation, so it doesn't kill him) with the shield equipped, then try to damage boost right into the end, problem was, 1 shield wasn't enough, i believe if you have 2 shields it might be possible, sadly i don't have another shield to test it out.
i believe you could use the hover wisp to get over that badnik on lava mountain 3.. but i have some fatigue of trying.
I found out that B can be used to jump without triggering a homing attack, after releasing this video. I may make a small update video to address some things that were either addressed after the release or some detail that were not mentioned.

It was the best sonic game in a long time until Mania came out. The best sonic game is really the fan game Sonic World.

The 3DS version doesnt have any animal barriers. In fact, the 3DS version is actually competent.
From what I can see, Lost World seems to be like Super Mario Galaxy (and Super Mario Odyssey?).

I'm sure you'll change your mind about gameplay videos once new official sonic games get released. It would be weird to not bother on a sonic channel.
Of course. I did say I would do them once in a while. I'm just focusing more on scripted content going forward, with the ocassional gameplay video thrown in, if it's worth doing.
I personally think the 3DS version of Lost World is a better game, and I might try this kind of challenge on that version, I don't think there was any kind of requirement to get from stage to stage other than beating the levels (but one thing I will comment on is that the Zor boss and Special Stages used 3DS Gyroscope motion controls and were very annoying to play).
I've tried the special stages. It's worse when recording since I'm tethered to my PC.

3:13 So that's another thing Sonic copied from Mario in this game. In 3D Land and Maybe 3D World I don't remember, if you lose like, 10 lives in a stage you teleport to the end of the stage. The properties are kinda different but it copys Mario.

Just so you know, beating the 3ds version is impossible because there are some shutters and teleporters in certain zones that require enemies to be destroyed. There are no warps or any ways to skip these sections.

I've never enjoyed the parkour mechanic in Sonic Lost World, not saying I hate the game, just my opinion on the game. Completing Sonic Lost World without defeating a Badnik would take a lot of practice and plenty of hours of gameplay to manage the mechanics of both speedrunning or parkour free running.
