Great Video, Maybe if instead of a Gunshot, When Rick attempted to Stab shane, Shane Doged the strike and, and then managed to Strike Rick Back in the Stomach, When He walks with the petrified Carl back to the Farm, He notices the Zombified rick behind Him. Shane not using his Gun, Went for a Stike in the Head instead, Making it so the Horde was never attracted. Its a cool theory, however the same argument with Daryl would probably still happen. They still found Randal's Body, no bites dead and turned. The only thing it will change, is the group wouldn't lose Hershel and Patricia. And Hershel didn't like Shane anyways, so he would 100% side with anyone saying Shane is being shady. I think the same result happens but the walkers never take the farm.
If the horde is never attracted shane still looses as they will quickly find ricks body see no bites but see he was shot and then connect the dots the horde does him a service here by hiding ricks body making it so that they couldn’t confirm if shane killed him or not.
@@greenscreenmovieguy5582 I can also point out that he aims his shotgun at Rick in the woods and aims his gun at Rick in the field. So I can him using it to "make his point" when the group is trying to kick him out.
No matter what Shane doesn’t have the groups backing. Half the group already knew he killed Otis, Andrea found out about Shane and Lori, what’s to say that information doesn’t eventually pass onto the rest of the group? Then you have Shane slowly mentally losing it. Even if he “won” vs Rick the group will never trust or even believe his word. And at some point they’ll fear him more than anything and want to leave him behind. Shane had nothing going for him by the time Rick killed him. If not season 2, then he would’ve died season 3. He wasn’t built to live through the apocalypse the way he was wired even if he was ahead of that curve on the reality of the world.
I would’ve preferred Shane left and comes back later as one of negans top men. He finally sees Rick and the group while they’re all knelt down when negan is about to kill Abraham and Glenn. Him and Rick lock eyes but neither say anything. Would’ve liked to see how that played out. I’m sure Shane would’ve ended up being a double agent
I think Shane would've driven off with Lori and Carl and the confrontation with the rest of the group wouldn't have happened. Lori would've gone into survival mode again. She wouldn't have known who would have survived at the farm Herd attack. She was pregnant + had Carl to worry about: Shane was her only line of defense at that point for her kids and herself. I think it's more likely they would've ended up in Woodbury, with Shane "earning his and Lori's + Carl's keep" by doing the Governor's bidding.
TWD: Destinies could have been incredible. Here's something I would of done if I was in charge. Just imagine if Shane survived instead of Rick. Us as the Player would have to suffer from Shane's psychological breakdowns as we have to end up choosing his choices down the lane, one aspect I would've kept is the "consequences" of what we've changed. As the story progresses through season 3 and 4 it'll be very interesting what Shane would've done in such a state. Seeing how Shane will risk everything and possibly anyone who tries to get in his way just to keep his secrets of what he did to Rick back at that field. Daryl, Hershel, Glenn, etc- I think what I would've done in this script is Shane after releasing all his inner anger on Rick's body, he would of be not aware of anything going on and just walk back to the farm. However, Just after this part of the "segment" ends Rick as an Walker would open his eyes and can possibly come through season 3 or 4 depending on if you keep trying to keep Shane's secrets hidden from the group. It's amazing how keeping Shane as the MC in this timeline would probably cause two large endings. {One, Shane might have caused an lot of harm but kept different casts of characters alive} or {The slowly demise of keeping Shane alive as everyone and everything would die at the final battle with the Governor} I think the ending of s4 for an normal playthrough would of been Shane just telling Carl that we have to keep moving, as Carl just stops walking, taking out his Silencer Pistol holding it at Shane's head, At this point in the 'story/game' if you kept Shane's secrets hidden eventually Carl would stumble across Walker Rick putting him down. Anyways, Shane would be in shock and tell Carl to put the gun down. Carl wouldn't listen and the choice would be up to us "bang"
I actually really like Shane’s character. I enjoyed the dynamic between him and Rick a lot, probably even more than with Negan as Negan, while treating Rick as an equal for most of the time, also greatly terrified Rick. Anyway, I don’t think Shane would’ve reverted back to the old persona that he had. Say that he lived…. He probably would’ve become way worse, driven by the guilt and madness of killing his best friend and his obsession with Judith, which would likely result in Shane picking a fight he cannot win and getting both Carl and Lori killed, perhaps even sooner than they died in the show. Rick’s not at fault for their death but to an extent, sadly he did fail to protect them. I agree with you that Shane would’ve gotten himself killed soon after but perhaps Shane, the manipulator that he was, could try and successfully sway the group. He has done so before. I think that Daryl could’ve led the group effectively though, with T-Dog and Glenn as well as Hershel’s guidance. Daryl would possibly be compelled to use weapons more often than his crossbow early on.❤
I personally think shane was killed off to soon. I never saw shane as a bad guy he just adapted to the zombie apocalypse sooner then the others. I think if shane was banished he would join another group of survives and soon during the time of season 7 or 8 rick and the survivors see another group of people called stalkers and one of them has old body armor with a gas mask on as rick ask who this mysterious man is he takes off his mask and it is revealed to be shane.
The only way Shane would’ve won, is if he let go of Lori. Said his goodbyes and went his separate ways. I could understand that Shane was trying to make tough calls for the group that someone with a strong will had to make so everyone stays alive and safe but Rick at the time wasn’t willing, and Shane was on his ass about it. But a man like Shane can’t survive with people like that, that’s why Shane died because he let his jealousy turn into envy of his own brother. If Shane had walked away and left the group to survive alone, I believe they would’ve crossed paths again when they’d really need a guy like Shane in their corner.
Could you make a version of this but what if rick AND shane both survived or if shane didn't do the whole scenario, It would be interesting, I mean I think there would have been a chance of it happening.
I’ve been thinking about a scenario where Rick and Shane both survive their fight with Rick injuring Shane and Shane escaping into the woods where he eventually encounters Michonne. Andrea remains with the group which I believe would prevent the death of T-Dog, at least for a short time. I’d love to discuss this further with anyone interested
This is a great What IF. My only problem is that people forget that at this point in the show, no one was overly fond of Rick except Lori and Carl. Sure, they saw him as their leader, but prior to that they saw Shane as their leader. The Love for Rick amongst the other survivors doesn’t come until after he leads them through winter and he finds the prison. Who’s to say Shane doesn’t just admit to killing Rick after they got into a physical altercation and the rest of the group just kinda brushes it off. lol I still think they all die if Shane lives and Rick dies, but it’s possible that it doesn’t go down this way.
I think the only possibility of Shane "winning" long term would be if he left the farm beforehand. From then on his journey COULD maybe get him to learn to live for other things other than Carl and Lori, aswell as hone him as a survivor, if he could deal with it without breaking down and going insane. Would be fun to watch.
Daryl is the type to speak his mind and say what it is, if he were scared of Shane he wouldn’t say anything, Daryl wouldve spoken out if this happened, as he’s been ready to go against Shane a few times already, and he had already told everyone what it was when Shane killed ronald
@justingcity He doesn't speak out as much as you think. He holds information. There were multiple times he would hold info or suspicions until later on. With Shane as the new leader it would upset him. But he wouldn't call him out right away face to face. He would speak his suspicions to the wife if she angered him or someone he trusted. Early seasons he didn't give a damn about anyone but him and his brother.
@@TheRealCaptainGold but is Glenn the leader? Early Daryl kept to himself cause he had one thing on his mind, and that was his brother. If he spoke suspicions, he did it with someone who was trustworthy or out of anger with another character. He didn't start opening up about suspicions with Rick until later seasons. He was a lone wolf.
@@poltblissofficial8336 No. Daryl literally shared his suspicions about Shane to Shane and Rick directly in "Better Angels" right to Shane's face, questioning Shane's story about Randall getting the jump on Shane. And considering how highly he viewed Rick, stating he had "honor" in the season finale (to Carol), it's pretty obvious to conclude that he'd speak up. By the season finale, Daryl was far from being a "lone wolf." This is the guy who went out of his way to look for Sophia and to put down Dale for Rick. He literally took part in the discussion about Randall's fate and he was going to take Randall out with Rick, before Shane killed Randall in the woods.
I agree with this 100%, that if Shane won, he won't not making far cause soon or later, cause they would find out soon, he kill Rich, and they would either have to kill him or kick him out of the group and then many season later, we could got Shane show up with negan group or he own spinoff show which I would watch, and yea the group would have to find a new place and someone to lead
precisely, Shane also dying gives better chances for the group instead of him leading them to their near future doom, at least they can join Woodbury, until something somehow fck it up for the town. they will never meet Michonne tho, even if they met, Michonne wouldn't stay and more possibly join Negan or leave again, until she met a grim doom to herself.
I wouldve liked to see him be exiled and build his own group to become a future villain. I feel like he had the potential of a decent survivor, but he was blinded by his emotions.
in an alternate reality i know daryl would fasho put 2 and 2 together and figure out shane killed rick….with daryl being a hunter if he found rick’s body he would see the gunshot wound but no bite and that would be case closed
Really enjoyed your thought process for this What If story- congratulations on making such a spectacular video. I was immersed the whole time. Gonna have to binge your other what ifs now.
Assuming there was no suspicion of Shane and everything played out as like with Rick, Shane as the leader probably could have worked for a bit. That being said, he probably would have immediately jumped at the chance of joining the Governor though, believing it's as close as rejoining civilization.
If Shane won, the group would have not been the same and probably ended like Negan. Carl might be alive, but he would be an evil person…not the child who wanted his father to do better and create a community where his family would be proud to love in.
I do contend that Shane could have convincingly blamed Rick's death on the approaching zombie horde. I agree Shane would've seen Rick turn into a walker, would've killed Rick & Carl would've seen that portion. I also agree Shane would've rushed Carl away from the scene & would've seen the approaching horde. I think he could've claimed Rick & himself found the horde by mistake & got overwhelmed & Rick was bitten multiple times but they managed to escape briefly. Then Rick turned & Shane shot him accidently alerting the horde to their new position & he rushed Carl away without saying anything at first to avoid Carl freaking out further. Now I could see Daryl & Glenn & even Lori questioning this. Why would Shane be caught off guard by Rick turning if he knew Rick was bitten? Well Shane's story could be that they got separated upon seeing the horde & when they regrouped Rick hid that he was bitten. I'm sure Daryl & the crew would question more things but I do believe Shane could theoretically convince them this was the case. However, I just can't see Shane explaining away his tracks matching Randall's. I can't even fathom what he'd say to Daryl & the group. Like I've genuinely got nothing to explain that away. It's like maybe he says he followed Randall as far as he could & turned back after losing him? But Daryl's counter would be "Oh yea you followed him perfectly? And then 'lost' him at the exact spot where a dust up happened & we found Randall's snapped necked walker stumbling around?" Anyway, I don't see a world where Shane pulls off that lie. I don't see Shane being able to pull off claiming he & Rick killed Randall before finding the horde. The way it's shot it appears Daryl & Glenn went in a near opposite direction of Shane & Rick. Or at the least their groups were not close together enough for Shane to make that claim. Either way, I love Shane. I think if he knew people turned despite not being bitten he'd of pulled this off better. But without that info his plan fell apart. I suppose him underestimating Daryl's tracking abilities was also dumb, but to be fair up to that point all Shane knows is Daryl failed to track Sophia so maybe he just assumed Daryl wasn't the supreme tracker after all. Either way, great what if video! Loved it.
If there was a scenario for Shane to have gotten away with killing Rick it would’ve had to of been during the 18 miles out episode. At this point shane hadn’t completely fallen out of the majority of groups graces and he could have more convincingly pinned ricks murder on Randall. Shane hadn’t come to the conclusion that he wanted to kill Rick just yet but the golden opportunity would have been shooting rick while he was pinned or recovering from being pinned under the police motorcycle. In that scenario he could even partially confess to he and Rick fist fighting over what to do with Randall in light of finding out that Randall knows who the Green family and that he possibly knows or could figure out where the farm is.saying that Randall got the drop on them during the scuffle. I suppose shooting Rick in the face on the side of the road when he hands back Shane’s pistol at the end of the episode would suffice as well but leaving both men’s bodies at an overrun public workstation to have the evidence consumed by the remaining walkers is probably his best bet at the clean getaway. What I think would have been most interesting is a scenario where rick listens to some of Shane’s ideas and perhaps retain some of his respect so he doesn’t feel the need to eliminate Rick. Or another scenario where Rick allows shane to shoot the deer from season 2 episode 1 to provide the group meat which would either result in Carl not being shot - preventing the set up for Shane’s antagonist arc or perhaps a scenario where Rick or shane are accidentally shot by Otis
I never really liked what-ifs especially in twd because they are impossible to answer. They are flawed because those who attempt to answer them assume that the series of events in the show would remain the same just with different characters which doesn’t make sense.
If rick dies, Lori wont let Shane to replace Rick. The whole group would probably die except Carol and Daryl and Shane would survive and join the Saviors.
That would be crazy imagine this in my prospective though Shane and Lori don’t get together in the first season Shane comes back and they become a unstoppable duo instead of Rick and Daryl and Lori isn’t pregnant so she live past s3 she lives a lot of the series but S5 Rick runs into a horde and has to run everyone thinks Rick is dead and Lori and Shane hook up after a while Rick is alive and 3 season later S8 Rick has to do the hard choice after Shane leaves one night in rage and finally kills a Negan after he lures his soldiers into a trap Rick brings him out in the dark and talks with him but Shane is so angry since Rick doesn’t respect him and be happy that he ended it all Shane pulls his gun still going crazy from the Lori encounter In the end Shane goes to put a bullet in Rick’s head but he falls to the ground and there’s a arrow in the back of his neck Daryl then walks up and they both nod to each other and go back to camp leaving Shane then Jadis finds Shane and makes a deal with the CRM and they take Shane 2 years later after 6 escape attempts he finds Rick and 10 years later they both become friends again after Rick tells him Lori passed after becoming pregnant in the end they both escape and Rick and Michonne become a thing and CORAL is still alive in the end of everything the cure is made but Shane is still alive and is hiding away and in the final episode Shane is confirmed alive but isn’t shown
well theirs no union in management, but I think Shane could talk his way through s2 but in s3 well the game is survival but Shane does not wana force Lori and Carl. So the 3 starve then you have a Whispers tribe start but its different daryl is the leader Carol and Beth are his family and so are protected then Beta is not exclusive to one person so everybody else is who survives the winter
Errm did you know that the creator wanted Shane to leave the show in a different way as he would be st*bbed by rick then Shane would turn into a walker and tries to use the g0n but finds it has no ammo
That's a really Interesting take on What If Scenario, but what if Shane actually lowers his gun, or Even accepts Ricks words in 18 Miles Episode when rick told him that lori and carl are His family Shane seemed Sincere like he actually came back to his mind when Rick told him it's time to get back, I think shane's story would be Awesome Specially when they encounter Negan and or the governor, Tbh I really loved the scene when they got Jon Back to make Rick's Dream sequence. the Dynamic story and Interactions between him and shane would make a great What If, What is your thought about this would be awesome if you create a video or comment about it I know the full arc can make a big video that can take too long in editing and story.
Well knowing Shane he mostly uses his gun when killing walkers
@@greenscreenmovieguy5582 I can also point out that he aims his shotgun at Rick in the woods and aims his gun at Rick in the field. So I can him using it to "make his point" when the group is trying to kick him out.
It wasn’t the shots that attracted them. It was the helicopter shown before all of that happened.
Fantastic what if. Everything is completely logical and I could imagine it going down this way in the show.
Just for future reference, Patrica isn’t Beth’s mom
You right
Such a good episode, glad we're exploring this one!
5:23 Overwhelmed, why you put so much emphasis on the h?
I would’ve preferred Shane left and comes back later as one of negans top men. He finally sees Rick and the group while they’re all knelt down when negan is about to kill Abraham and Glenn. Him and Rick lock eyes but neither say anything. Would’ve liked to see how that played out. I’m sure Shane would’ve ended up being a double agent
knowing his moral compass, his value as double agent is similar to Merle's - zero
Shane could say Randall killed Rick, he snapped his neck. He found Rick later as a walker and shot him.
True, but I think Daryl knew that it was specifically Shane’s tracks that were found near randles dead body.
"good place as any" literally just right outside the farm house
A rly good what if for Shane and ricks friendship is what if Randell escaped and drove off when rick and Shane fought
You need to make more what ifs man 💯
Great vid man! Im planning on making Walking Dead video essays, these are very inspiring
Reminds me of Tyreses hallucinations, “ya know, domino shit man”
Anyone else find the whole “cocking hammer” sound used on a Glock fucking hilarious-
4:04. You forgot to add this. He unlocked infinite ammo. That's why he wanted to stay and fight. eeeheheheheehehe
Daryl, Hershel, Glenn, etc-
I think what I would've done in this script is Shane after releasing all his inner anger on Rick's body, he would of be not aware of anything going on and just walk back to the farm. However, Just after this part of the "segment" ends Rick as an Walker would open his eyes and can possibly come through season 3 or 4 depending on if you keep trying to keep Shane's secrets hidden from the group.
It's amazing how keeping Shane as the MC in this timeline would probably cause two large endings. {One, Shane might have caused an lot of harm but kept different casts of characters alive} or {The slowly demise of keeping Shane alive as everyone and everything would die at the final battle with the Governor}
I think the ending of s4 for an normal playthrough would of been Shane just telling Carl that we have to keep moving, as Carl just stops walking, taking out his Silencer Pistol holding it at Shane's head, At this point in the 'story/game' if you kept Shane's secrets hidden eventually Carl would stumble across Walker Rick putting him down.
Anyways, Shane would be in shock and tell Carl to put the gun down. Carl wouldn't listen and the choice would be up to us "bang"
That would require a phenomenally higher budget
@@goldkghtyt5477 Omg, That's true XD
My ideas are way too advanced!
Could you make a version of this but what if rick AND shane both survived or if shane didn't do the whole scenario, It would be interesting, I mean I think there would have been a chance of it happening.
those project zomboid growls gave me trauma-induced panic, made me instinctively jump to my keyboard
Shane would get the group killed fast without Rick.
I still love watching walking dead videos
That was a great what if
You should do more videos on analyzing the choices made in zombie stories. I loved your Negan and Don videos.
With a tiny bit of forethought a large fence around the Farmhouse to keep the zombies out would have been a great idea.
Hope you continue a “What If” series!
We can’t have murderers in our group immediately murders someone haha
jails and prisons dont exist anymore bro lol gotta deal with murderers and other bad folk the old fashioned way
I’ve been thinking about a scenario where Rick and Shane both survive their fight with Rick injuring Shane and Shane escaping into the woods where he eventually encounters Michonne.
Daryl is more likely to stay quiet especially around this timeline. He stayed quiet about most suspicions. So I doubt it would have ended that way 😂
He told Glen immediately what he thought was suspicious.
I had this re-imagination what if Shane had a brother and he watched Rick killed Shane in that field
Rick dying would have actually been far more realistic than Shane dying.
He could just not admit it and they would forget about it eventually
I wouldve liked to see him be exiled and build his own group to become a future villain. I feel like he had the potential of a decent survivor, but he was blinded by his emotions.
More What if's
in an alternate reality i know daryl would fasho put 2 and 2 together and figure out shane killed rick….with daryl being a hunter if he found rick’s body he would see the gunshot wound but no bite and that would be case closed
This is a amazing story 😭😭😌
Really enjoyed your thought process for this What If story- congratulations on making such a spectacular video. I was immersed the whole time. Gonna have to binge your other what ifs now.
Almost forgot about that winter. Everybody lived! Musta been pretty smooth sailing
Loved it.
i want a continuation of this story line with daryl as the leader
Shane was always the winner to me. He didn’t have the same weaknesses as Rick.
Never thought of it like this. Great video!
If rick dies, Lori wont let Shane to replace Rick. The whole group would probably die except Carol and Daryl and Shane would survive and join the Saviors.
If Shane win. Then Andrew Lincoln would play The punisher.
Ironically to get what he wanted (the group led by someone who has what it takes, judith being protected) shane had to die lol.
loving these what ifs/ could they survive/ was ____ right vidos , keep them coming
We need a What if series for the walking dead
That would be crazy imagine this in my prospective though
Shane and Lori don’t get together in the first season Shane comes back and they become a unstoppable duo instead of Rick and Daryl and Lori isn’t pregnant so she live past s3 she lives a lot of the series but S5 Rick runs into a horde and has to run everyone thinks Rick is dead and Lori and Shane hook up after a while Rick is alive and 3 season later S8 Rick has to do the hard choice after Shane leaves one night in rage and finally kills a Negan after he lures his soldiers into a trap Rick brings him out in the dark and talks with him but Shane is so angry since Rick doesn’t respect him and be happy that he ended it all Shane pulls his gun still going crazy from the Lori encounter In the end Shane goes to put a bullet in Rick’s head but he falls to the ground and there’s a arrow in the back of his neck Daryl then walks up and they both nod to each other and go back to camp leaving Shane then Jadis finds Shane and makes a deal with the CRM and they take Shane 2 years later after 6 escape attempts he finds Rick and 10 years later they both become friends again after Rick tells him Lori passed after becoming pregnant in the end they both escape and Rick and Michonne become a thing and CORAL is still alive in the end of everything the cure is made but Shane is still alive and is hiding away and in the final episode Shane is confirmed alive but isn’t shown
This version of Daryl doesn’t have the balls to stand up to Shane. Shane would easily kill him
Fyi beths mom was already long dead before season 2 even began. The woman whom beth was holding onto as she died was patricia, otis' wife
if they never went past season 2 this would've been a great finale
finally some accurate theory if shane won
!Spoiler!:
This is like the first “what if” I’ve seen where Shane kills Rick and still dies in season 2 lol pretty unique.
Can you spoiler tag this or something? Ruined the video immediately

My B.
@@XThink-hl6gv appreciate ya ty for making it right
It’s the most realistic scenario. Daryl saw right through Shane from the jump.
@@einzelganger6664why are you reading the comments of a video you didn’t finish?
well theirs no union in management, but I think Shane could talk his way through s2 but in s3 well the game is survival but Shane does not wana force Lori and Carl. So the 3 starve then you have a Whispers tribe start but its different daryl is the leader Carol and Beth are his family and so are protected then Beta is not exclusive to one person so everybody else is who survives the winter
This makes the most logical sense realistic
2:47 "in the woods"
I personally think a far more interesting what if would be what if Rick left Shane in the bus during 18 Miles Out.
Shane probably would’ve escaped on his own and then came back to the farm ENRAGED and killed Rick the MOMENT the opportunity presented itself.
“What If Shane left with Andrea”
Shane should have said that Rick tell him to give him his gun and said pulling his knife out to kill him
I have a hard time imagining Andrew as the punisher.
yo this was sick great story telling 😺
They should make a show dedicated to the most popular, what ifs?
Shane doesn't survive past season 3 if we're being generous.
i agree 100 percent on this what if
He would have gotten them killed.
Errm did you know that the creator wanted Shane to leave the show in a different way as he would be st*bbed by rick then Shane would turn into a walker and tries to use the g0n but finds it has no ammo
The Shane simps are screaming somewhere
if shane won he probly wouldve got rid of thesaviors before they even become a threat lol
Next: "What if Daryl didn't shoot Shane?"
Subscribed awesome TWD keep it Coming Captain !
