Champions was taped back in October. There are no "live shows." Each week 4 acts are selected to go to the "finals." There are no quarter finals, and semi finals. Only "finals." Angelina's golden buzzer meant she went directly to the finals, with out having to be picked by the "super fans" or the judges. Each week, the super fans pick two, the judges vote for one and the golden buzzer designates one to go to the "finals." This is AGT - The Champions, not the regular AGT. This is only the second year of Champions.
There is no question about it. Angelina most definitely deserved the Golden Buzzer. She could have won this competition, but her family didn't want to play the shows game, and refused to sign the contract. Good on them. I fell in love with this beautiful voice from this performance, and the more I learned about Angelina, the more that love grew. I have now watched all of her covers and original songs available. I have never been more impressed by anyone, than I have by this barefoot angel.

Monday night we heard only one of Angelina's many voices. She has a rare capability to adapt her voice to the song itself, from very raspy Jazz to high note Pop. If you compare this performance, or any of her Jazz tunes, to her Whitney Houston's "I Have Nothing," you'll see what I mean. I've said elsewhere that Angelina is a talent like no other in my lifetime, and I'm 77.

I wish I had the rights to make a compilation video of reaction shots of Angelina Jordan singing on AGT. I love seeing others saying and feeling the same way that I do. It's really hard to express just how good she is. Angelina can express emotion through song on such a deep level with such maturity well beyond her years. To watch others experience that, feels really good. When I first saw her performances on AGT Champions I was telling my wife about it and raving about it to her. I even played it for her, and well bless her heart, I didn't get much of a response. On the inside I was screaming with amazement and realizing I was witnessing a very special moment and human being. It was shortly after I started seeing reactions shots popping up on my TH-cam feed and I was so pleased to see people reacting they way they did. I am stunned, speechless, and overwhelmed! What a magnificent performance! We, as fans, have known this talent for years, but now the rest of the world does too. This is going to be Angelina's year. We know her parents want her education first, and have turned down numerous contract and appearance offers, and it's going to be that much harder to do this year after this AGT Champions exposure. I'm confident they will continue to do what's best for Angelina though. It was great to see Grandma, Mama, sister Juliette, and uncle so overjoyed with her performance and the Golden Buzzer. I told someone that I felt like I was on a drunken binge last night after watching it 20 or 30 times, and had probably overstated what I thought of the performance. So, I watched it again this morning. Nope, I was blown away again! As the young judge on Norway's Got Talent said several times, "Angelina, I have no words."

That might explain why AJ was born in Norway, which is her primary language. Her maternal grandmother is Iranian and her maternal grandfather, who is deceased, was Japanese.
