One additional point - the remaining members of Queen were so impressed with Angelina's performance that they allowed her to copyright her version and it is available on several streaming services where she gets the royalties.
That is incredibly...Queen just doesn't do that. Good for her. I feel like she put enough of her spin on it, that it's deserved. I believe Slayer did the same thing for Tori Amos when she covered Reign In Blood...I could be wrong, but I know Tom and Kerry really loved the cover.
Angelina is great because her objective is to deliver a song the best she could passionately and emotionally and enjoying the music/song. She's no intention of showing off because she knows she is good as long as she is able to deliver it her style and beautifully. That makes her singing very organic and brilliant.
she was 13 here, started Norway‘s got talent at 7 and won it when she just turned 8 :) you should definitely check out her ‚I put a spell on you’ cover (screaming jay hawking version) at age 9! and she has loads of other stuff , originals too, her many fans will tell you all about it.
Great professional analysis. AJ's riffs are so controlled and the dynamics are so sophisticated that yes, while there's ornamentation, it's so completely intentional that it all works. This is AJ's arrangement, which is often commented on, but IMO overlooked for its brilliance. She begins a capella, then introduces the guitar as a complement to her perfectly-pitched vocals, centering the composition and allowing her to move away from the breathy introduction and into sustained vibrato, pushing more power and open emotion into the song as the piano joins the guitar, building to a crescendo that perfectly matches the lyrics, then finally back into a restrained coda that is almost a capella, featuring a few rich piano and guitar chords. The whole performance is just absolutely masterful. The more you understand composition, the more admiration you have for what AJ has created. And then performed live. This performance alone should have won the competition.
Norwegian born Angelina Jordan began singing at the age of one and a half, and by age three was listening to jazz and classics legends on repeat. Her grandmother was her greatest influence, but Angelina chose her own path. Her first studio performance was at age 7, singing I Who Have Nothing. She won Norway's Got Talent at the age of only 8, singing old time classics from Billie Holliday and George Gershwin, and became the youngest ever vocalist to win an international Got Talent Show! Her performance at 9 years old of Screamin Jay Hawkins, I Put a Spell on You is considered one of the finest recordings ever of a 9-year-old vocalist! Angelina also went viral on America's Got Talent the champions in 2020 with her unique versions of Bohemian Rhapsody and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. Angelina sings in English which unbelievably is her third language! She is a true prodigy. She is now 17, and has recorded a huge library of songs, including covers and several originals. A major attraction to Angelina's music is the emotion and attitude she conveys, although she has not experienced the life events! She is known as the barefoot princess of 1,000 voices as she can adjust her tone, style, and register for any song or genre. She was signed by Republic Records almost two years ago. She is not widely promoted yet, however, as her family has decided to wait until she graduates school, so she has a normal childhood. Here is a link from ages 6 to 17 of 106 Angelina chronological TH-cam performances with five originals. m.th-cam.com/play/PL2v8kgVeo4EbYDVnRwObjETfWpXbzbgIO.html Here is a more comprehensive playlist of 180 videos including tiktok and Instagram. th-cam.com/play/PL2v8kgVeo4EbQD6l_WAVjOfItquzW7oEc.html Why does Angelina sing barefoot? The answer may bring a tear to your eye. It is related to a promise she made to herself and to the world when she was only 6 years old. She was traveling in the Middle East with her mom and grandmother and they came across a young orphan girl with no shoes and scarred feet. Angelina gave the girl her own favorite shoes. Angelina ask the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and she said a doctor, but she could not because she had to take care of her siblings. She asked Angelina the same question and Angelina said I want to sing for the world. The young girl said she would pray for Angelina. Since then, Angelia has forever performed barefoot as a reminder of all those less fortunate. At age 9 she wrote a book about this experience, Between two Hearts, becoming the youngest ever published author in Norway. She also has helped raise millions for children's charities. She even donated her winnings from Norway's Got Talent to charities. She is a special individual, and one you cannot follow without developing an emotional bond. Angelina captures hearts because she is humble and has compassion for humanity. Her stated goal from childhood was to sing for the world and spread love and peace. I trust this will cause you to embrace her as millions of others have, and that you will continue down the rabbit hole from which you will not want to escape. Peace and love. th-cam.com/users/AngelinaJordanOfficial Please remember to include in your description the artist Official Channel as well as the original video, if you have not already done so. Superb analysis. I do enjoy watching professionals who know their stuff get to grips with Angelina's style and technique. As this was just a short audition, she needed to be a little 'showy', but her other performances reveal a true artist who understands the songs intimately and conveys their heart to the heart of the listener. I can't wait to hear how you get on with other performances of hers.
She doesn't sound like anyone but herself. The most unique voice I've ever heard ❤️ Can you imagine how far she is going, considering how young she is? Mind boggling 😳
Enjoy this ride. She is a true prodigy and is an old soul. This a deep rabbit hole and you cannot go wrong with any of her singing from early years to today.
Having had a smidge of musical/vocal training, I really enjoyed hearing your thoughts on her vocal technique and the features in this performance. As I understand it, Angelina was trying to include a variety of techniques in this short piece, so as to let the judges know of her capabilities. But as you said, it hardly can be covered in a couple minutes. Especially with Angelina, who is often called a "vocal chameleon". Really enjoy your reactions! More analysis of Angelina, please.
13 year old Angelina created a genius arrangement, as she always does for her 'covers'. I like to say she doesn't cover songs, she completes them. This performance is my all time favorite vocal performance. Angelina's musical talents are exceeded only by her humility and empathy and please read the biography I complied for her and learn why she always performs barefoot. Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman. Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on TH-cam. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage. *Why Angelina always performs barefoot* At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true.
Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. PLEASE PURCHASE Angelina’s book from her merchandise store on her official website, angelinajordanofficial Angelina, at age 6 and 7, did record a few songs in a recording studio at her school, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old. At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience. In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them. In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists. When asked what she would like to do with the prize money she won (500,000 kroner or about $80,000), Angelina replied, “I want to give it to the poor children”. Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on TH-cam went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old. In December 2014, Angelina realized a life-long desire to sing at the Save the Children's Peace Prize Celebration which is part of the Noble Peace Prize celebration. Angelina’s family took her to United States, Brazil, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Russia, South Korea, Singapore among other corners of Earth, to perform for heads of state and to help raise money for charity. All before Angelina turned 14. At age 9, Angelina recorded a music video covering the 1956 Jay Hawkin’s classic, “I Put a Spell On You”. The video begins by showing Angelina writing her “wishes” for how she wants to perform the song. Angelina has always created her own arrangements for her cover songs. At age 10 and just a week before her 11th birthday, Angelina recorded a demo of “I’m Still Holding Out for You”. Her family never pursued having that recording officially released but someone leaked it on a TH-cam video. Thankfully, everyone involved with that song is now ok with the leaked version. Many angels (fans) believe this is one of Angelina’s best performances. When Angelina was 11, she performed a number of concerts in Norway with a jazz/rock band. Those concerts included up to 14 songs, each remarkably performed. Angelina seems to be at her best when on stage, never nervous, only 100% confident. Also at age 11, Angelina recorded her “It’s Magic” album which has, at times, been in the top 10 best selling jazz albums. The album can be purchased on iTunes or Amazon. On June 27, 2018, at age 12, Jordan performed “Fly Me to the Moon” for Quincy Jones in The O2 Arena in London. She has said that was the high point of her young career which was already in it’s 6th year. During 2018, Angelina lost her paternal grandfather, her friend Avicii and one of her idols, Aretha Franklin. She did a moving tribute for each. In 2019, Angelina accepted an invitation to compete in the 2nd season of America’s Got Talent (AGT), The Champions. She had, since age 3, wanted to perform for Simon Cowell and she earned his praise with her genius arrangement of “Bohemian Rhapsody”. The surviving members of Queen loved it so much they put a link to it on their Twitter. Angelina was eliminated after covering Elton John’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”. Angelina’s family refused to sign any agreement with AGT which would give Simon any control over her career. Angelina, before age 14, had covered more than 130 songs from 80 different artists, spanning at least 8 genres, all of which are available on TH-cam. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. On TH-cam, search on The Complete Works of Angelina Jordan as Rusty Shackleford has put all songs in one file and has a complete playlist in the description of that video. The pandemic hit shortly after her performances on AGT and likely caused a change of plans by her family, most notably her Uncle Michael who is her manager. Her family agreed to a contract with Republic Records in August 2020. Republic Records declared Angelina Jordan their highest priority new artist. Reportedly her family requested Republic to allow her as normal a childhood as possible and therefore have yet to fully promote her. During the pandemic, Angelina was often seen buying meals for the homeless on the streets of Los Angeles. In November 2020, Angelina released “Million Miles” which she wrote after the passing of her beloved maternal grandfather. She dedicated the song to anyone who has ever lost a loved one. Angelina had previously released, 3 other original songs: “What is Life”, “Oslo” and “Shield” In April 2021, her original “7th Heaven” was released. A jazzy, danceable, inspiring song. Angelina has posted numerous short performances on Tik Tok and Instagram. Angelina had concerts in Norway in July 2022. Personally, Angelina as a great human being and her music came into my life when I needed it most. Her music has improved the quality of my life more than I can express. I now introduce her to as many people as I can, with the hope her music will do the same for others. We know once her family believes the time is right and allows Republic Records to fully promote her, she will become the superstar she has always dreamt and believed she would be. I encourage others to use this biography to help educate others about the love, empathy, magic and beauty that is Angelina Jordan Astar and her unique music.
@@jerryfoust3860 Too many singers passed their auditions on Norway's Got Talent so they had to narrow the field. When Angelina sang "I'm a Fool to Want You" has always been referred to as the Judge's Cut Round to determine which singers would continue.
Love your reaction, there are a lot of reactions to AJ, but I really like the analysis of what she does. You will find every original or cover she does there is something different in her voice, it will be interesting to hear what you find. She started singing at age 1 1/2 and listening to jazz and did her first public performance at the age of 7 singing Gloomy Sunday in the style of Billie Holiday, on Norway's Got Talent, which she won. She is now 17 and her 10-year+ evolution is remarkable. Thanks for taking your time to react to AJ
Thanks for this first beautiful and interesting reaction/analysis, Peter. This interpretation of her is absolutely memorable, for her incredible technique, for the ability she had to re-read such an iconic song in a more intimate way and for the intensity of her interpretation, at only 13 years old! This is a splendid example of Angelina's extraordinary and unique work, her extraordinary intelligence and musical sense, through which she absorbs and transforms into her interpretations the great songs she loves so much. Her phrasing, backed by her wonderful use of breath, always fascinates me and gives me chills every time.💛🧡❤
Hi Claudio, always excellent analysis, I prefer this type of reviewer and he reminds me of Andreas Grussl who I consider the best as an analysis, greetings Massimo👍
Peter, "Welcome to the wonderful world of Angelina Jordan!" She was actually 13 when she recorded this on the Show. It aired when she was 14. Peter, most of us have heard her sing Bohemian Rhapsody literally hundreds and hundreds of times and you didn't scare us away because of your analysis. We actually love it when a new reactor comes aboard and listens to this, and perhaps to her, for the first time because we know what's going to happen! You suggested you wanted to hear more of her. Well, her fan base (her 'angels') from around the world will be sending you all kinds of data (playlists and personal) about her and I strongly suggest you find out who she is. I know you spoke about the mechanics applied in her vocals but didn't address the soulfulness in her voice. Who she is reflected by the way she sings and it's impossible not to consider that when evaluating her voice and the affect it has on her listeners. You certainly recognized her artistic skills and she has been rearranging classics since she was 9 years old. Peter, wait till you find out why she sings barefoot. I subscribed and I look forward to you reacting to more of Angelina.
Just prior to her 14th birthday, Angelina had already reached top level voice control. Pitch perfect all the way through. No nerves at all. Got the audience exactly were she wanted them to be. She is for me the voice of the century. No one is (for me) even close to her great prodigious talent. Thanks for the analysis. Subscribed.
I have listened to this performance by Angelina about 200 times, so far, and never cease to enjoy her beautiful voice and arrangement each and every time. It is always a pleasure to watch someone's reaction who has yet to meet and hear this gift from heaven. She is all things you wish you could be, what you wish people could be, and that's before she even opens her mouth...yes, I really like her. Thanks for your reaction, I look forward to more to come.
I don’t anything about singing or voice. But I do know what I like and I like Angelina’s arrangement of this classic. When she did this on AGT, I think she was only like 13? And when she won Norway GT, she was only like 9!!! She is captivating!
I enjoyed this very much. It’s interesting to hear informed opinion from a vocalist from a different genre discuss Angelina. There’s no reason you’d know this, of course, but when you said we get a idea here of what Angelina can do with her vocals-well, actually she excels in this type of bluesy-jazzy intimacy, but she is equally as good in many completely different genres. She is called the girl with 1,000 voices-a slight exaggeration, but not by much. I know very little about opera, but I’ve listened to popular music all my 70+ years-and Angelina is without qualification the best popular singer I’ve ever heard. What should you listen to next? If you want to see a child prodigy, go right to I Put a Spell on You (age 9) with Angelina giving us incredible old school blues in front of a live jazz band. If you want to see her amazing vocal dynamics and tools recently, try her cover of Adele’s Easy on Me. Or watch Angelina’s 1960’s soul in her own take on the Etta James classic, I’d Rather Go Blind. All completely different genres and approaches-maybe she does have 1,000 voices.
I think to understand Angelina you need to see her winning performances at Norway's Got Talent, at age 7. She was a singer from her earliest days. And everything she's done since that time has been amazing.
The part near the end where you see the little girl crying that is her little sister and her Mom wiping the tear away and her Grandmother on the end. A verry tight nit Family that Angelina gets a lot of support and inspiration from. Her song Million Miles is written in memory of her Grandfather who she lost a couple years ago. She is so unique as an artist now days sharing her pain and joy so openly with her fans. See the song Always on my mind, recorded Just after losing her grandfather, she did it as a tribute and at the end she finishes as she is breaking down in tears. Its heart warming and sad yet Inspiring in how she loves her art so much and her fans so much she lets us in.
You got yourself a new subscriber because of the substance. So many reaction vid's are "did you hear that! I literaly have goose bumps!". Completely useless. Learned a lot. Thank you.
Angelina’s voice and her total being is like an ocean wave or soft summer breeze that takes you in and rushes you to places you have rarely experienced. Your heart rate increases, you find it difficult to catch your breath, chills and shells engulf you. You are now addicted to Angelina Jordan. This coming from a guy that is 74 and has experienced the best vocalists in the world, but none have captured that soft spot like Angelina Jordan does each and every time.
Actually, she was 13 when she sang this. I recommend you listen to her studio performance of "I Put a Spell On You" when she was 9 yrs old. she sings, writes music, makes her own arrangements... she's phenomenal.
feeling good at age 10 "live on the stream Gir Tilbake", I put a spell on you age 9 in studio black and white, fly me to the moon age 8 live on the VIEW
You have probably realised that Angelina has a HUGE following. I don’t know anything about technique, but I recognise talent. I suggest you start at the beginning with her three performances on Norway’s Got Talent, her first audition when she was 7. When not performing she is a little girl, give her a microphone and she transforms into the original artist with a mix of herself. She has always been amazing and the best part is that she is still only 17, I hope I live long enough to see her when she is a mature woman!
The magic of music. While most people are all about BELTING in a song, I much prefer Angelina who belts sparingly, only when the song calls for it. For me, Angelina is the ultimate singer story teller, with every note in the song sounding as the most important and she conveys more emotion than any other in my 64 years.
ANGELINA was influenced and inspired by many artists especially jazz , she was introduced to jazz by her grandmother " mery ". at aged 2 ANGELINA searched you tube for jazz greats including her major Influence " Billie holiday " Angelina is also friends with " nora Jones " she performed at a " nora Jones " concert in seol South Korea 2017 for a audience of 40 thousand. she was aged 11 .
One thing to point out is that Angelina is largely self-taught and has never had a regular vocal coach - the only vocal training she has reportedly had were tips on how to keep her voice singing capability healthy. The first time she sang, she was 1 1/2 years old.
New subscriber. Next stop would be her Frank Sinatra song:"You make me feel so young". Just gives you another idea of what AJ's vocal abilities are. Many would ask you to watch "I put a spell on you" (an epic performance by AJ) but that was so long ago and she never sang it the same way later. Keep in mind that Angelina is only 17 today, so her voice will keep changing with time.
Great first reaction Peter. Yes as a 13 yr old she was incredible. Also as a 6,7, 8, 9, 10, 11 .......17 yr old she has done wonders with her vocal style and is looked up to and appreciated for not just singing but also for her humility. She has been recognized as a great humanitarian for her efforts to cloth, feed children in need since she was 6 years old.
AJ sounds like a thousand of the best vocalists that ever lived all wrapped up in this genius storytelling signature voice. She is like nothing you have ever experienced in your life.
I'm not a prifessional singer but I'm 60 years old and I've heard all the greats. Etta James used to be my all time favorite singer. Now it's Angelina, and it isn't clise. The way she emotionally interprets songs is not like anything I've ever heard. Before her, I have cried in response to singing maybe once, but I have lost count of the number of times Angelina has brought me to tears. I have loved great singing, but Angelina is the only singer I've ever consisered a truly great, in fact genius, artist. She is the GOAT as far as I'm concerned.
This is my return to this reaction, you mentioned Nora Jones so I thought to let you know that Angelina opened for one of her concerts at the age of 11, have a good day and GO ANGELINA !!!!
Welcome to Angelinas world. Angelinas angels like that reactors stop and talk about what you hear in her performance so stop as mutch as you like. Like you Angelina in my view is best in her lower register. As I see it Angelina is singers singer, they know what it takes to do what Angelina does.
Wow. She opened for Nora Jones in a South Korean concert earlier. Maybe Nora is an influence. At 13, she also arranged this piece. Please try 'I Put A Spell On You' 4 years earlier at 9! She won Norway's Got Talent at 7(on TH-cam)
With very few exceptions Angelina chooses and arranges the songs she sings and has done so since she was 7/8 years old. Here is a great example of how Angelina sounded like in the Summer of 2022 at age 16 - this video is part of a documentary about the 2022 Kongsberg Jazz Festival in Norway - There is a short interview (don't skip the interview!) of Angelina in the beginning followed by her performing two of her original songs live in concert: th-cam.com/video/HKK66K5u1Fc/w-d-xo.html
Oh boy Peter are you ever in for it. Angelina fans love vocal experts scientificlly justifying what we hear and our love for her. Don't stop now, the little gal has been very prolific.
Looks like i'm late again. I see the angels have filled you in on her incredible talent and the story of how she got here. I'll just add what most do not mention. An introduction to her family. When you react to Bohemian Rhapsody take notice during her performance they highlight audience members in the front row. That is Angelina's Family. From left to right Her uncle and manager Michael Astar, her little sister Juliette, her mother Sarah Astar and her grandmother Mery Zamani. Notice her little sister crossing her fingers as the performance starts and later her mother wipe tears from her eyes. Also remember she said she had waited 10 years to sing for Simon. When she was 3 years old she was begging her mother to go on 'that Simon show'. ♥👣👸🏻🎷
Hi there Peter, I'm classically trained as well and can honestly say her voice production is technically mind blowing and then that there's that luscious and so,so very unique tone . Shes the real deal ,the whole package on her way to being a G.O.A.T... I think I have listened to evetything that is out there by now. Her This Is A Man's World and Lovin You which is really the titled I Just Wanna Make Love To You song are two I keep going back to. Angelina has known where she's wanted to go right out of the gate. Her family has supported and protected her gifts early on. Just wow!
You are in for a treat exploring Angelina. I have been following here since she won Norways Got Talent. She actually arranged this song herself. She is a talent that we have seen in many many years. There are SOOOO many original songs that she has made her own. I just can’t say enough about this young lady!!!
ANGELINA JORDAN IS A "GENIUS". THERE IS NO SENSE TRYING TO DISSASSEMBLE WHAT SHE IS EXCELLENT AT. IT BOTHERS ME TO HEAR YOU GIVE YOUR INPUT THAT ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH HER AMAZING PERFORMANCE. SHE OWNS MUSIC, SHE KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT SHE WANTS IT TO SOUND LIKE. ONE IN A TRILLION SINGER. THANK YOU.
She won Norway's Got Talent before she turned 8. She did this performance on America's Got Talent at 13. Her native language is NOT English and she still puts feelings into the words. She came up to the microphone without having a note to give her the pitch, but was right on with the guitar when it came in. She did her own arrangement of the song. She has a gift!!
Our beautiful Angel-ina truly is music. She is changing lives. Thank you for your thoughts and analysis. Hope to see more. Just subbed to follow your journey. ❤️
Great reaction to a vocal tour-de-force! You've done it now. You have fallen into the vortex of Angelina Jordan who arguably brings the most confident, versatile, seemingly effortless, and fearless vocal artistry found today (whether measured across artists, genres, or decades). You may think this an exaggeration but listen to a few more of her many performances (160+ covers plus original songs - all on YT) and you will see! She has been performing at a high level all over the world since age 8 when she won Norway's Got Talent singing Billie Holiday, Nancy Sinatra, and Gershwin. It is the rare singer that can, as Angelina has done, go from Queen to "Screamin" Jay Hawkins to Adele to Elvis to Whitney Houston to Michael Jackson to Etta James to James Brown to Amy Winehouse to the Beatles (and many others in between) and do them all justice! If you want to hear music, listen to anyone. If you want to feel music, listen to Angelina. She will stagger you with her ability to find and bring forth the 'essence', the emotional message of nearly any song. You have far to go with Angelina and many surprises yet to witness. She is equally comfortable and equally able to impact us whether singing a cappella, accompanied only by a piano or guitar, in front of professional studio musicians or a 40-piece military band. With her immense vocal toolkit, arranging ability (yeah, that too, since about 8yo or so) and the work ethic to make what she does only 'seem' effortless, she will hopefully be touching hearts for a long time to come. Why God has performed the miracle of touching the world with one of such talent, musical IQ, commitment, and generosity as Angelina we can wonder but we must all marvel. Welcome aboard the AJ train! Please react to more of her impressive library. As for what is next, many will make great recommendations. Another strategy might be to web-search Angelina's name along with a big-name artist from roughly the last 80 years. Chances are pretty good Angelina has covered something of theirs. Listen to it..be amazed..repeat. She is that consistent, and that good. Enjoy the ride!
OH BOY, YOU ARE IN FOR SOME SHOCK AND AMAZEMENT, BUT JUST TO GET AN IDEA OF OUR BAREFOOT PRINCESS YOU WOULD NEED TO START PRETTY MUCH FROM THE BEGINNING. NORWAYS GOT TALENT. YOU WILL SEE THAT THERE ARE THOUSANDS IF NOT MILLIONS OF HER ANGLE FANS. WE ARE VERY PROTECTIVE OF HER. WELCOME TO THE ANGELINA JORDAN JOURNEY.
I'm enjoying your analysis to what we all know is a fabulous voice. Love learning what is happening with this child singer. Now she is 17 years old but there is a TH-cam plethora of AJ's music starting at 18 months old, believe it or not. Not looking forward to analysis of that of course. My present favorite is an original "7th Heaven". The early stuff is astounding and explains the jazz ability that comes with AJ's stylings.
I've viewed your analyses of Pentatonix music and found them very illuminating. I subscribed now because of the in depth review of this performance. Your analysis of Angelina Jordan's voice really described what's "under the hood" in a way I hadn't heard before. There are indeed other vocal professionals who have been instructive but you've added to my appreciation of this artist. It reveals the work that she has put in over the many years.
Guessing this guy just got out of a coma to just now hearing her. You need to hear her Elton John song as well. Her voice is just amazing. Listen to it on a pair of Devialet Phantom Gold's for a real nice sound. Small, but pack a wallop for sound.
I later learned that she was 14 during this performance...ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Which Angelina Jordan performance should I check out next?
As Jess said, I put a spell on you when she was 9yo is the one to check out th-cam.com/video/nwFloCPXzCs/w-d-xo.html
13 during all 3 performances she did in AGT the Champions. Recorded in October 2019. Angelina was born in 2006.
She was 13‼‼‼‼‼‼‼‼‼
I think her live performance of I feel good, when She has 10 can be a great choice.
@@thinuviel07 yes a great one to listen to next
This chick is one in a lifetime to hear. I have never heard anyone like here before or since.
One additional point - the remaining members of Queen were so impressed with Angelina's performance that they allowed her to copyright her version and it is available on several streaming services where she gets the royalties.
That is wonderful...
A gifted girl. X
She is the only artist Queen ever gave the copyright to one of their songs. They loved this so much they did this for her.
Wow!
I put a spell on you - the b&w version when she was 9. I’m obsessed.
Angelina is great because her objective is to deliver a song the best she could passionately and emotionally and enjoying the music/song. She's no intention of showing off because she knows she is good as long as she is able to deliver it her style and beautifully. That makes her singing very organic and brilliant.
She was 13 and she did this arrangement.
Peter, outstanding. I promise you have only scratched the surface of Angelina's immense appeal.
she was 13 here, started Norway‘s got talent at 7 and won it when she just turned 8 :) you should definitely check out her ‚I put a spell on you’ cover (screaming jay hawking version) at age 9! and she has loads of other stuff , originals too, her many fans will tell you all about it.
She was actually 13 at this point, and this video has been viewed over 150 million times.
Check out her rendition of i put a spell on you when she was 9 years old. Scary stuff.
Angelina's rendition of "Stay" is the best i've ever heard
actally 13 when she performed this. thank you for analyzing this
Great professional analysis.

Why does Angelina sing barefoot?

Angelina Jordan I'd Rather Go Blind ♥
YES!🥳
You are meeting a prodigy/genius.
She can take on anyone so far and just blow us away every time. God bless
Oh yeah!!! I follow those who discover what we've known for years 😉 Welcome 🤗
Awesome reaction! Love this young lady, then 13 years old, now 17. She has really gotten even better. Thanks for the knowledge drop!
*Why Angelina always performs barefoot*
At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money.
PLEASE PURCHASE Angelina’s book from her merchandise store on her official website, angelinajordanofficial
Angelina, at age 6 and 7, did record a few songs in a recording studio at her school, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old.
Angelina had previously released, 3 other original songs: “What is Life”, “Oslo” and “Shield”
In April 2021, her original “7th Heaven” was released.
She sang I’m a fool to want you BEFORE her “audition” Gllomy Sunday. Notice the context.
@@jerryfoust3860 Too many singers passed their auditions on Norway's Got Talent so they had to narrow the field. When Angelina sang "I'm a Fool to Want You" has always been referred to as the Judge's Cut Round to determine which singers would continue.

Thanks, very interesting story.
Maybe it's time for a "gofundme" for this orphan girl, that her dream, her wish, to become a MD comes truth....
@@pluisnonplux9728 😃👍That's a good idea, if somebody can find her!
thank you for your very comprehensive analysis .
I was going to suggest her "I put a spell on you', but others have already done that. I would also suggest her version of "Suspicious Minds".
Peter, "Welcome to the wonderful world of Angelina Jordan!"
She was actually 13 when she recorded this on the Show.
Every little nuance is very intentional. She is a very unique artist. Wonderful reaction/analysis.
Subscribed.
The most mesmerizing performance I have ever seen ❤️ Got chills and goosebumps every time I listen to that performance ❤️
The arrangement was so innovative
Wow. I can't wait until you hear this young lady sing this song.
I agree, he did'nt listen to the song! he just critiqued every word individually!
@@george33631 of course he listenied❣ The Sir's got trained 👂👂 and gut👑
From a die hard Angelina Jordan fan, really appreciate your educational analysis. When I listen to her music I get goosebumps.
I think to understand Angelina you need to see her winning performances at Norway's Got Talent, at age 7. She was a singer from her earliest days. And everything she's done since that time has been amazing.
What a beautiful reaction from such a learned professional singer--nicely done and all in honor of a great young star Angelina Jordan--she is terrific
Wonderful reaction and analysis. I have just one request. More Angelina!
So beautiful it hurts !!!
You got yourself a new subscriber because of the substance. So many reaction vid's are "did you hear that! I literaly have goose bumps!". Completely useless. Learned a lot. Thank you.
We love you Angelina ❤❤❤
Hi Peter -- Angelina ,s cover of HOW GREAT THOU ART is just breath taking,
Angelina’s voice and her total being is like an ocean wave or soft summer breeze that takes you in and rushes you to places you have rarely experienced.
I enjoyed your reaction very much.👍🏼🎼🤗 I hope you continue to react to Angelina because I think you well be very surprised, pleasantly so.🎼💞
... I've waited a long time for a singer like Angelina ... and the wait has exceeded all my expectations ... ✨💎✨ Thank you
Actually, she was 13 when she sang this. I recommend you listen to her studio performance of "I Put a Spell On You" when she was 9 yrs old. she sings, writes music, makes her own arrangements... she's phenomenal.
she is wonderful thanks
feeling good at age 10 "live on the stream Gir Tilbake", I put a spell on you age 9 in studio black and white, fly me to the moon age 8 live on the VIEW
I also hope I live long enough to hear her voice at age 30 and beyond.
Try listening to Valerie or Unchained Melody, or for her lower range How Great Thou Art. Love listening to her.
I love these two together!
A great educated reaction to this phenomenon. AJ has been giving concerts since she was 7 years old, she is completely at ease on the stage.
New subscriber for Angelina.
Best female vocalist on the planet, maybe the Solar system
I just love this young lady....i repeat this song so many times when i listen to it.....her voice is just so beautiful ❤️..... beautiful
That was a great reaction to her I've been following her 4 five yrs ur in for treat .. as u here more .
Inspiring young talent from Angelina and great analysis from Peter.
Angelinà Jordan studied voice under Anne Brown in Norway. Anne Brown was George Gershwin's first Bess in "Porgy & Bess".
AJ sounds like a thousand of the best vocalists that ever lived all wrapped up in this genius storytelling signature voice. She is like nothing you have ever experienced in your life.
Subscribed for more Angelina! That was a great break down! Go Angelina !!!
I just watched about 6 performances from her as a very young child. She's been singing a long time.
This is my return to this reaction, you mentioned Nora Jones so I thought to let you know that Angelina opened for one of her concerts at the age of 11, have a good day and GO ANGELINA !!!!
Great reaction to Angelina, she's really special in so many ways look forward to more reactions of Angelina. 👍👍👍
She won Norway's Got Talent at 7(on TH-cam)
aloha Won NGT at 8.
@@103mrg yes she turned age during the competition. So she started the competition at age 7 but won it at 8
She arranged this whole and made her clothes. She does it all
I follow her on IG and she is incredibly talented. Her originals are kickass!
To feed the algorithm I will say thank you for the thoughtful reaction to this wonderful young singer, please do more.👏👏
Looks like i'm late again.
Oh! Haven't asked for it, but been waiting for you to do an analysis of Angelina Jordan. Nice!! Thanks!
THANK YOU.
Yeah, she's amazing.
I’ve really enjoyed your commentary on this one. Thank you.❤
Learned a lot about what she does, thanks.
You are enhancing my listening experience..❤
Our beautiful Angel-ina truly is music. She is changing lives. Thank you for your thoughts and analysis. Hope to see more. Just subbed to follow your journey. ❤️
You really need to react to 'Feeling good"
She started a capella to, which you didn't mention. Also a very simplified, stripped down version-- that she arranged.
Just say is the best singer EVER
YES!!!! You FINALLY got around to Angelina ❤️❤️❤️
Greatings from an old Danish Dear and Angel 🌷🇩🇰❤️
Why did it take 2 years and why now?
Guessing this guy just got out of a coma to just now hearing her. You need to hear her Elton John song as well. Her voice is just amazing. Listen to it on a pair of Devialet Phantom Gold's for a real nice sound. Small, but pack a wallop for sound.
