I think that BYD is making pretty nice cars, and the sales figures speak for themselves, but, speaking of road trips, I really wonder why don't they have a single station wagon among their extensive product line)
@@allenli7387 Not everyone is looking for a huge SUV or RV for road tripping. And by the way, from my observations here in Qingdao NIO's station wagon ET5t is the most popular model among all the NIOs I see on the city roads, and if we're talking about ET5 model, than I would say that out of every five cars, four of them would be the wagon version.
Concerning the real world range, I find the different numbers you get in the quite enormous amount of tests and reviews quite confusing...Some average 22+ kWh/100km, some as low as 17,5. I take it as having maybe to do with handling but still... it's a big gap which gives very different ranges.
Yea I only know what I was getting. It was disappointing. I kept it right around 120kmh the whole time on the highway, it chewed through the battery quickly

Why not do a shorter charge followed by a near 100% charge at every second stop then you either go further or get a quicker charge at the next stop? Are you charging to 100% at night? This is LFP if you are applying your lousy NIO/TESLA habits you are undermining the BMS and the range.
I charge based on speed of the charger plus where I’m trying to go. If I’m pulling 30 or 40 kw I get enough to go to the next faster charger, if I’m getting 140 or 150 kw I keep it going til it drops. One night I was able to charge to 100%

@@Eric_Garrison Well, if that works for you then go ahead. Hybrid cars with 1000+km rang can simply skip gas stations on the highway. In fact, you can fill up the tank before heading to hotel. Of course, it's also possible for BEVs to recharge off the highway but that would be way more trouble and takes much longer especially in the winter.
Looks better than Tesla
And less an empty box. Probably also better overall build quality...
@@janverbanckI am owning a BYD Dolphin since 7 months (17,000 km) and I am very impressed of the built quality.
Take a test drive is the right recommendation :)

They will

wagon?

Don't consider a BEV if you are taking regular long road trips. Buy hybrid instead.
