Something I noticed at the show was the design of the door handles makes it fairly easy to catch your fingers. Also other reviewers saying the KW dial on the dash is useless info that you really don’t need and you can’t change
PS meter is also useless for most. Most people don’t even use it to shift, and if you drive automatic, it’s just as useless as this. I think what BYD just tries to mimic PS so people feel more familiar the feel of the dashboard
Ahh - good to see the measuring tape out, Derek ! Gotta do the ground to boot-lip dimension too, Derek - Darwin won’t always be as agile !! Here’s a sample of a few cars that were at your RDS show ( yes, the nutter that I am !!) : - Boot lip heights - Maxxus 680 MG4 730 Enyaq 730 Astra 760 Niro 760 308 770 Id4 780 Soul 800 (my car ) MG5 810 Megane 840 All approximate - I was trying not to be too intrusive on the day !
Thanks for your informative review Derek. Wondered if you could shed a little more light on the drivers seat and this thing of it moving back to give you more room to exit / enter. Can that be stopped? Had a Seal for a demo and I couldn’t see how to prevent it from potentially crushing the passengers feet. Is there a setting? Also can you stipulate a charging percentage to charge the car up to? I couldn’t find a way to do that. In fact to make matters worse I’d got the car set to charge from 12.30am to 4.30am and deselected charge to 100% and it still charged to full. Coming from a tesla model S here so I’m used to being able to effectively schedule charging and / or set to a charge percentage. Loved the Seal though - a nice balance of model S and model 3 features. Just need better ways to get to some of the menu options and being able to silence ADAS better.
The screen for the panoramic roof is that thing in the boot. It’s a 2 piece screen which once fit is nice and tidy but a bit fiddly to fit so not really practical to fit and remove often.

Here is one practical question. Why should you buy a car with lackluster software, terrible efficiency and nothing to make it future proof at all over a Tesla.
@@UgglemannenFTW Tesla is way better at everything that matters. In a computer on wheels what matters is the software and the software in a BYD is really bad.
@@whynotstartusingyourbrain8726 In countries with roundabouts its just stupid having no stalks. Beside you are driving a car not playing on an tablet.
