Excellent. Love your effects. One word of caution: When you spread the cards to divide into 2 packs , make sure you keep the cards above the 3D together. I messed up by splitting them the wrong way ... duh !! Lol... In presenting the deck . My way to do this : Spread cards face down and ask - " are any of these cards face up ? " they say no .. Now turn them over and say - are any face down? - they'll say no .. now pick them up and spread them in your hands , slowly adding, and all the cards are mixed right? - at this moment you can cut at the 3D and kinda compare packets , saying OK, this looks like 2 evenly cut packs -- which one do you want ?? Boom ! Nice touch-- makes no difference who has which packet . ❤

You're spreading joy and surprise. I am using your tricks as I go around to Senior Living facilities, re-hab facilities and entertaining shut-ins. Your tricks are so much fun to perform and they never fail to bring joy to the spectators. Thanks from all of them!
As someone who is trying to get back into things that bring me life, doing card tricks has brought me joy again. I love seeing people's faces in awe trying to figure out what I'm doing. These are great to great tutorials 🙌

I just want to say .. I am very picky about the tricks I like to learn and perform .. there are so many on here that state they are the best trick ever and I end up turning it off even before the tutorial…. However .. this trick you showed ( and explained very clearly) is well up there with those I enjoy showing and leave the bewildered victim thinking …. How ??
This card trick was amazing! I’m new at card tricks and this was easy to learn. I did the card trick with friends and they were amazed. They had no idea how it worked. I like the way you explain the tricks. It is easy to follow along. I just started watching your videos and all I need to do now is practice, practice, practice Thanks , Chad
An absolutely superb effect. I’ve been performing for 20+ years and this is completely new to me. It’s fooling everyone I’m showing it to. I LOVE it. Thank you sharing it with us.
I think this is a great trick to follow another trick where you force the three of diamonds to be their chosen card. Also: I think the effect has much more impact if you leave the cards entirely in their hands after you split the deck into two packets. You can just instruct them easily from then on. They can shuffle both packets to their heart's content. You can explain to them how to make the flowers out of the packets. They can flip and mash to their heart's content. Once they've finished flipping/mixing and done the last flip and squished the piles together back into one, It doesn't even matter if they're in a neat pile. All that matters from there is which cards are face up and the fact that they match your prediction. Squaring the deck up yourself just creates unnecessary suspicion even though It's actually fair and you're not actually changing. anything. If they do everything after you split the deck for them, and you never touch the cards again during the trick, it will hit much harder.
What if they mess up the face down, face up while mixing it and don't mix properly according to instruction? The whole deck has to be rest then, right?
@isaacgomes2905 this has become my favorite card trick. I've performed it many times now. No one has ever messed up the trick while handling the cards themselves. You just give them clear instructions. It works great.
@@Jason-Moon I've done it smoothly a few times but it has happened, that while mixing it and making it messy they randomly turn the cards instead of face up to down while mixing. Is there any workaround for that?

Almost rigged I go as far as the prediction of “how many” as well as black and red cards ,all the while stressing it was the spectators free choice …..like a lot of tricks it’s more about the patter and presentation that your selling , that packs the biggest punch on any routine . Great effect! I've done this a few times and made adjustments to my setup pile. The odd card is placed in the middle of the setup pack instead of the bottom and I use a black card on the bottom as my spotter. Spread the entire deck faceup to start to show everything and then create my two piles from there. An extra final reveal I use, I have another full deck of cards in the box on the table beforehand and mentioned I've also made a prediction the day before revealing in the other deck a face down card being the final odd card. Reactions are pretty amazing. During the shuffling process, I let them riffle shuffle etc, do all the mixing. Thanks for sharing this trick.
I love this trick. Reminds me a lot of Lennart Green’s ”Rain man” which I have been performing for many years. Simon Aronson first published the principle in 1980. By the way, it spells ”Shuffle-bored (it is a play on words).
I have watched alot of so-called "Greatest/Best/Amazing" etc card trick tutorials but this one truly and literally had me saying out loud,.. NO EFFING WAY OH MY GOD during each prediction! 😂 Thanks for the awesome trick and BIG shout-out to the geniuses who creat these awe-inspiring card tricks. They are the true heros we all love and need! 💯👏👏👏
I’ve been getting back into card tricks and this is probably the best one I’ve found yet. No sleight of hand, self working, and an absurd level of perceived fairness. Great job!
Still new to card tricks and things like that!! Such an easy card trick and so insanely awesome too lol. Can’t wait to try this on people!! It’s gonna be epic!!
Did this for my relatives at a party and none of them wanted to point out the fact of the 3 of diamonds. So I basically called their attention to it and that’s when they said they didn’t want to make me look bad. You should have heard the howls when I then showed the final prediction!! Great effect and you are a great teacher.
This is an OLD effect and I’ve always loved it. I used to keep a folded paper with multiple folds that would reveal the predictions. Ended up opening to a full page showing the final prediction. Good stuff. EDIT: made this comment before the video finished. I see you mentioned the paper. Mine was printed out but same idea. 😂
Hi Matt that is Absolutely Bizarre i can`t stop doing it just to see if i can catch myself out but guess what!! i can`t, thank`s for showing this to us all.
Great! Beginner here, but I've been tinkering with a trick idea (no gimmicks or slights, easy force) and realized a shufflebored stack could be recycled at the end of shuffleboard for what I have in mind! I'd love to hear your thoughts and improvements, and share if you like it. Great videos!
Wow! I have just tried the trick for the first time and it worked perfectly well. It is a mind blowing trick and I will be definitely using it in my routine. Thank you very much for sharing it.
Desperate to start learning card tricks to show the guys at poker. Just lost an hour watching so many tricks that blew my mind of effect and simplicity. Keep them coming and thank you
Great trick. I do this one. But my predication says: 25 cards will be face up. 10 cards will be black. They will all be clubs. Some one will point out that one card is the Ace of spades. I then show my lady predication. So that's the trick done yippee. However I finish by then showing everyone that there is the Ace - 9 of clubs And the Ace of spades I then show them that 15 red cards are Ace to king of diamonds (13). And the Ace and 2 of hearts. That really blows anyone away. Love your channel.
Yes this is a fantastic trick. I did it only last week to a group and the reactions were great. I have the set-up above a short card do i can riffle up to the break.
I tried this - the first time it didn't work. However, after trying again, it worked. Tried a third time to make sure it wasn't a fluke - it worked again. I've done the instagram thing you spoke about (with a thanks to you in the description) and I can now add it to my arsonal of card magic/tricks 😊
cool thanx, this is the second card trick i learned, i started 10 mins ago, got it right on second try, i never play cards i dont even know how to shuffle. i started learning tricks 30 mins ago, now i know two! hahaha I can kinda figure this one out i can see the system, it really is common sense to be honest as you basically predict what you selected as controlgroup. still cool.
You got it, congratulations. Remember it’s better to do a few tricks really well than to do many badly. It can be addictive to want to learn as much as possible, I’ve been there. Just give each trick and routine the time I deserves and they will serve you well. Best of luck 🤞
I started a new social care job recently, supporting young males in residential care. They were having a bbq today: I'd made it known at my interview I liked doing card magic. One of my colleagues remembered this, and invited me to do some. I did this one in front a group - along with a couple of others you've posted. They all went down very well - which was a relief 😊
It should work no matter how much you mix 👍 just make sure that you are following the exact cutting, flipping and mixing process. You need to do the pipes alternating or it will mess up, that is maybe where you are going wrong.
hi Matt as a kid you ran my magic circle you really supported me with the magic and drove me down to Blackpool one year for the convention, So weird seeing your face pop up on YT all these years later im 38 now! hahaha good to see you again.
@@MattMcGurkYeah not to quite the same level as when I was 12 but I do really enjoy watching the finger flinging stuff. I gave up on that muscle pass in the end though I remember you blew my mind with it and I practised for ages after. I still use that retention vansih you taught me as well it gets everyone and learning the pass at that age as well haha life skills bro thank you.
Hi Matt, fantastic trick. I come up idea for this trick put the two jokers next to the three of diamonds and just say to spectator let’s look for the jokers. before we start.
This is an amazing self working trick. I've seen a very similar one that was called 'except the ace of spades' I can't remember it exactly but it was similar to this, I think the jokers were involved for some reason? Anyway, an impressive trick that is nice when you know you're not gonna stuff it up with a botched sleight of hand lol
Great trick. Question: When the spectator is moving the cards from one pile to the other do they have to do it back and forth so when the move cards from the set up pile the have to take cards from the other pile and put them in the set up pile? Regardless of how many times the do this. (Your card magic course is the foundation of my newly acquired card magic performance. As a beginner that course has been outstanding. Hope you make more courses for card magic.)
Once again, you've taught this old dog a new trick! I'm fired up to try this one for myself, although the villagers are sharpening their pitchforks as they think I've sold my soul for this kind of thing.
wow... this is incredible. I am wondering, how could it working... but i am wondering much more, how could someone find out such a trick? It is great! Many thanks for sharing with us! :)
Off topic, but I just LOVE that he appears to be using the same close-up mat that I use, including the colour (Deluxe Close-Up Pad 16X23 (Red) by Murphy's Magic)! Highly recommended mat! Makes me feel like a pro too (I'm not)!
What if they mess up the face down, face up while mixing it and don't mix properly according to instruction? The whole deck has to be rest then, right?
You made another prediction that came true.... I fooled myself! Another BRILLIANT trick. Thank you so much. Cant wait to try this one out in the community,
Thanks man! I do think this was overlooked by a lot of people, but it’s a trick I use in my professional shows all the time. Glad you gave it the time! 👍
Wow what a great trick. You are giving me great pleasure as I am learning all your tricks as they are so much fun. Another truly great trick. Make sure you keep them coming
Could you give a bit more detail where/how you created the slide on your instagram? Many thanks. Btw, Ali Bongo had a very way of unfolding the paper predictions.
Hey! The slides can be created very easily in any photo editing program. Just make the slides 9:16. You can customise the font and style to your liking. Hope this helps 👍
I just thought of a great way to do the prediction. I don't instagram, so I made a video on my phone. But thought of something better. Write a letter with the predictions, (folded like you showed) and send it to a friend. Tell them you're are doing so and not to open the letter and bring it next time you are seeing each other. When they open the sealed envelope it can be just as surprising, because they know you predicted days before and sent it through the mail. Obviously the Instagram thing works on other levels of showing people you don't know at any time.
@MattMcGurk thanks man! I've been really enjoying your magic lately! I just watched devils elevator and about to give it a try! You make things very easy to follow and execute. True master class. I have 12 card tricks on my channel if you'd like to check them out!
I once watched a movie, produced in around 1993....but i dont know it's title. A young newbie magician showed how to make dissapear a coin in his hand to a professional magician. The professional magician responded by snapping his fingers and produces the whole deck of cards in his hand. Tilli now i am still wondering if such a trick can be done, or just a special effect 🤔
Good question!, I generally will only perform one set up trick at a time. It may be possible. It’s just a matter of pairing up the tricks so that the first doesn’t disturb the order from subsequent tricks
You could do it in the original way, I show it briefly in the video by having each part of the prediction hidden in a folded piece of paper, so that when you unfold it, it shows a new part of the prediction. See 5:53 for an example
So this trick could be done with any cards, and any number of cards as long as it doesn't look too uneven. Which means you could make any prediction you like in any way, which is nice. My first thought was to have a second deck of cards where the top cards are the same, in a random order, and use them to predict what cards should be.
Great trick! Quick question though. How do u make it sio the spectators actually flip over a pack over easily? I find that some ppl arent good at handling cards and might drop a few cards from the mess.
You can omit the Rosetta shuffle with those spectators. Just have them cut some off one pile, turn them face up and then riffle shuffle them into the other pile. You can always do the riffle shuffle for them and have them push the cards together. I much prefer not to touch the cards and have them do the mixing. I think selecting spectators that are used to handling cards is key. You can see this when you hand the cards out for shuffling at the start. Watch them shuffle and you’ll be able to tell the people are used to handling cards and the ones least likely to drop them. Hope this helps.
No, as long as the cards are cut flipped and shuffled into the other half you can mix them however, even a casino wash. Just make sure that no cards flip over accidentally as you do it.
Hey Randy, can you clarify? I’m not sure I understand the question. You need to start with the deck set up yes. I’m not sure what you mean to end with the set up?
@@MattMcGurk Matt - first, I should have thanked you for sharing these amazing tricks! THANK YOU! So, 2 piles of cards, the set up group and other group. Does the first move ( first cards to be picked and turned upside down and smashed into other) always need to start from the set up group?
wow this is so old you made a small change to the end I did this so many years ago Ali Bongo showed it to me like 40yrs or more ago I think it was his trick.
I wonder if it would be too much of an overkill, to include the actual number of red cards along with the prediction of being even numbered red cards? Just a thought
I have set up according to your instruction at least a dozen times and I still can't get the first 23 cards face up correct. I don't understand what I am doing wrong!!
It will work either way buddy, as the the only cards that effect the outcome are the ones in your stack. It might be good to use the joker as the card that doesn’t match in the end.

Excellent trick and explanation. I can't wait to try it out. Thanks
Hope you have fun with it. 🤞
that was really so goood
This is good i am yet to try it yet.
Wow...amazing ❤❤❤
Thank you! Cheers!
Amazing ❤ mind-blowing magic 🎉
That was really good ❤
Wonderful 🎩
Great trick. Question: When the spectator is moving the cards from one pile to the other do they have to do it back and forth so when the move cards from the set up pile the have to take cards from the other pile and put them in the set up pile? Regardless of how many times the do this. (Your card magic course is the foundation of my newly acquired card magic performance. As a beginner that course has been outstanding. Hope you make more courses for card magic.)
Yes back and forth, one alternating one pile to the other. You got it!
Once again, you've taught this old dog a new trick! I'm fired up to try this one for myself, although the villagers are sharpening their pitchforks as they think I've sold my soul for this kind of thing.
You got this Bob! 👊
Learned this from Oscar Owen. I like your version better. Thanks!
Awesome! Thank you. That’s very kind!
A fantastic order from chaos effect. Nice tutorial as well. 👍👏💪😊🪄✨️✨️🍻
wow... this is incredible. I am wondering, how could it working... but i am wondering much more, how could someone find out such a trick? It is great! Many thanks for sharing with us! :)
It’s one of my favourite tricks. Many greats have worked on this idea. This is just my take on it. So glad you enjoyed it.
Off topic, but I just LOVE that he appears to be using the same close-up mat that I use, including the colour (Deluxe Close-Up Pad 16X23 (Red) by Murphy's Magic)! Highly recommended mat! Makes me feel like a pro too (I'm not)!
It’s a great close up pad! It is the murphy’s one. ☝️ congrats on your great taste 😂
What if they mess up the face down, face up while mixing it and don't mix properly according to instruction?
The whole deck has to be rest then, right?
Appreciated your efforts for showing every single details also that canva thing thanks man keep making people happy❤️
Thank you so much 😀
I love this channel
You made another prediction that came true.... I fooled myself!
Another BRILLIANT trick. Thank you so much. Cant wait to try this one out in the community,
A really nice trick, well explained, thanks!
Thanks buddy!
Brilliant!!!!!‼️‼️❗️!!!!!‼️‼️❗️!!!!!
Thanks man! I do think this was overlooked by a lot of people, but it’s a trick I use in my professional shows all the time. Glad you gave it the time! 👍
Great performance, hope you're enjoying the cruise (assuming you're still on it)
Loving it thanks! Great ship and the crowds have been fantastic ❤️
Wow what a great trick. You are giving me great pleasure as I am learning all your tricks as they are so much fun. Another truly great trick. Make sure you keep them coming
You got it!
When is the next trick coming
Soon. I’m going to try and film something this weekend. Very busy installing a show onboard the Celebrity Equinox, but it’s will be uploaded asap!
Thank you for sharing this beauty, btw I just became your follower no. 10101 😂
That’s awesome man! Welcome to the family 👍
Love this!!!! Awesome Idea!! 👏
@MattMcGurk thanks man! I've been really enjoying your magic lately! I just watched devils elevator and about to give it a try! You make things very easy to follow and execute. True master class.
I have 12 card tricks on my channel if you'd like to check them out!
@MattMcGurk I've got 12 magic tricks on my channel if you'd like to check them out.
I once watched a movie, produced in around 1993....but i dont know it's title. A young newbie magician showed how to make dissapear a coin in his hand to a professional magician. The professional magician responded by snapping his fingers and produces the whole deck of cards in his hand. Tilli now i am still wondering if such a trick can be done, or just a special effect 🤔
consider my mind blown - great trick
Thanks so much man!
Hi Matt, if one wants to do several self working tricks in a row but they require different set ups, how do you deal with that. Thanks!!!!
Good question!, I generally will only perform one set up trick at a time. It may be possible. It’s just a matter of pairing up the tricks so that the first doesn’t disturb the order from subsequent tricks
could you do some non card tricks as well
Good shout. Yes they are on the way!
Totally gob smacked. I’ll think I’ll be using this for….. ever!
We’ll done mate!
Great trick. How would you do this if you're a grown man who's not on social media?
You could do it in the original way, I show it briefly in the video by having each part of the prediction hidden in a folded piece of paper, so that when you unfold it, it shows a new part of the prediction. See 5:53 for an example
So this trick could be done with any cards, and any number of cards as long as it doesn't look too uneven. Which means you could make any prediction you like in any way, which is nice. My first thought was to have a second deck of cards where the top cards are the same, in a random order, and use them to predict what cards should be.
Absolutely buddy! You can taylor this howvwer you like. If you come up with any good ideas, just let me know!
Love it!
Thanks!!
@@MattMcGurk ah, so u r saying that the ppl who at least know how to Overhand shuffle should be able to do this?
I'm glad I don't have to understand HOW the trick works! Thank you for sharing! I can't wait to show the grandkids!!!
Question: Does it matter what shuffle is used by either yourself or your audience ?
Brilliant trick by the way !
No, as long as the cards are cut flipped and shuffled into the other half you can mix them however, even a casino wash. Just make sure that no cards flip over accidentally as you do it.
Many thanks.
Love this one 🤯😁♣️♥️♠️♦️
Another nice trick 😮
Thanks again 👍
Do need to start with the set up stack and end with the set up stack?
Hey Randy, can you clarify? I’m not sure I understand the question. You need to start with the deck set up yes. I’m not sure what you mean to end with the set up?
@@MattMcGurk Matt - first, I should have thanked you for sharing these amazing tricks! THANK YOU! So, 2 piles of cards, the set up group and other group. Does the first move ( first cards to be picked and turned upside down and smashed into other) always need to start from the set up group?
And the last move is turning over the entire set up pile and mashing together with other deck?
Matt - do the first cards you flip over need to come from the set up pile?
Do we ignore the six of diamonds and two of diamonds that are down?
Sorry I don’t understand the question?
wow this is so old you made a small change to the end I did this so many years ago Ali Bongo showed it to me like 40yrs or more ago I think it was his trick.
I wonder if it would be too much of an overkill, to include the actual number of red cards along with the prediction of being even numbered red cards? Just a thought
Try it and see!
I have set up according to your instruction at least a dozen times and I still can't get the first 23 cards face up correct. I don't understand what I am doing wrong!!
It will click, just come back to it. Rewatch and follow along, don’t jump ahead. Trust me you’ll get it. You’ve probably just missed a step.
With or without the joker?
It will work either way buddy, as the the only cards that effect the outcome are the ones in your stack. It might be good to use the joker as the card that doesn’t match in the end.
I have done this trick and it has worked great, but a few times I get more than 23 face up cards. What could I be doing wrong?
Just make sure you are flipping the packets everytime and shuffling into the opposite packet. You should be good 👍
