Same. For fear of sounding like an Apple Fanboy, I almost refused to believe that the S24 Ultra produced better looking photos, but Danny's comparison clearly shows the S24U has the 15PM beat especially in the 5x portrait category. It sucks cos I'm convinced I'm getting the 15 PM, but this video is making me think otherwise. Currently own a 12 mini. Should maybe wait for the 16 series.
I'm using a s23 ultra the camera is phenomenal but the 1st time ever I'll be switching to apple next year because of the strong resell market in my country. 🎉😅 This video clearly shows s24 ultra has a better Camera sensor 😢
Please keep doing macro comparisons. I would love to see that 15 pro max's log mode in action. Also, i wanted to see the in-depth night mode comparison on both phones.
Danny for President 🙌🏼. My findings. ● 15PM apply more contrast to pictures and have darker shadows more than the S24U especially from the beginning of the videos. So overall dynamic range i prefer S24U ● Color rendition on both of them are surprisingly similar, S24U still slightly more colorful though. ● 24MP default on the 15PM still produce more details in less challenging lighting. ● Potrait and Front camera are better on the S24U ● Video is shockingly on par and very similar on both especially in colors and dynamic range wow👌🏼

I haven't seen any of your videos this year comparing the S23 Ultra with the S24 Ultra... I think that after these two major updates, the time has come, and your channel is totally reliable. Congratulations on the comparison!
When you showed the video comparison I actually thought the video on the left was the iPhone. When I look down I saw it was the Samsung. They are both clear and smooth.
2:23 - the issue is not the noise reduction on iPhone, the issue is iPhone forgot to use 5X camera again. It's a common problem on 15 Pro Max and you need to let iPhone look at the scene for a few seconds so it would switch to 5X lens
Hi Danny 😊 I bought the 15 Pro Max at launch, then the S24 Ultra on launch, now I’ve gone back to 15 Pro Max. Cameras on both are good but iPhone is better and more consistent. iPhone way more reliable and easy as a phone as well! ❤
Considering the size of the device, lens, and sensor the photos from both amazing. The choice is more of what kind of OS and user experience you prefer.
It uses the main sensor for 5x shots if its too close. The 5x lens can only focus as close as 1.35m which is pretty annoying. Same with the main sensor, the closest it can focus is like 20 cm which is a pain in the butt because as soon as you get close to something it switches to the UW which looks like crap in comparison. The cameras are really good but apple need to sort out this minimum focus distance issue. It is not good enough. Also I have found that sometimes I cant get it to switch to the 5x lens if its darker. An example I had recently where I was taking photos of exotic birds in a cage. I was poking the lens through the cage but I think the depth sensor might have been sensing the cage and so it wouldn't switch to the 5x sensor unless I got the phone in the perfect position. I want full control apple, I don't want you holding my hand. Let me switch to the 5x and if it looks blurry or bad because of the lighting then I will make changes to get a better shot but don't just force your hand and not let me switch to the 5X lens at all. Not good enough. Then again, I wonder what the Samsung would have done in the same scenario.
Very detail comparison between these phones. May i ask what is the photo mode you were using on the iPhone. (Original/Vibrant...) and did you apply any filter at all, or just the original setup on the iPhone camera.
I love macro photography (that's literally all I use my DSLR for), but from my experience none of the phones really do a good job. Bokeh usually looks terrible on these tiny sensors. Pixel 8 Pro has the best results straight out of camera. But if you don't mind doing a little editing, use the 2x on the iPhone, and then use the Focos app to fix the bokeh. Technically it's fake bokeh, but it still looks the best.
Miniscule difference… you can see big difference depends on the person holding the phone for sure. So whatever you have… you just have to get good! They are both capable.😊
Hi Danny, can you also include the time lapse between the apple and samsung. I feel the timelapse is amazing on Iphones. But no TH-camr has compared timelapse/hyperlapse mode between apple and android. And probably thats the reason why timelapse on android is not improving
very amazing video as always thank you for those amazing analysis / shots (which make us traval too xD) it is good having some shots of macro, but I think that if you don't particularly want to talk about it too much, having a very little and fast amount of samples as you did in this video is good it just gives us the ability to make our opinion by having your samples (which are great since you do take amazing photos) being able to compare anyways thanks for this, waiting for your next videos (and comparisons of course) impatiently
You're camera reviews are the best 💗You and Techtablets are my favorite tech reviewers right now, focused on the products unlike most big time TH-camrs who focus more on themselves and their opinions
Great video. But I do notice that you haven't use the pixel phones in your comparison as of late. Why not? Also which is better... Disney World or Disney Land?
iPhone uses digital zoom on 5x and above when the focus point is quite near. I hope there is a way to easily enable or disable automatic lens switching.
very cool and good explained comparison thx and please keep the macro comparison for those who are looking for, also its a part of the device possibilities :)
For me the iPhone still seems to be better in terms of producing photos which are closer to what your eyes sees in real life whereas the Samsung seems to be applying way too much processing and producing oversaturated photos which are not indicative of the actual colors in real life
These days, i found it opposite... Apple nowadays seems to be applying more processing and contrasts. And plus, with that yellowish tint in the photos which i absolutely hate. Samsung on the other hand, they are becoming more and more tone down just like the previous Apple did. Plus, there are quite many people that prefers the vibrant colors of the Samsung so it's not a bad thing to be saturated. Personally, i think photos on the Smart phones should look more like the way Samsung does. I wouldn't say that Apple did it wrong, but i think Apple wants to pretend their cameras looks same as dslr like, but everyone knows that it's not even par with the photo quality so that kind of approach is useless.
You forgot to mention that s24 Ultra is "lossless raw" capable with the samsung expert raw app, and that it has inbuit ND filters which is missing on iphone, and that iphone pro cameras actually use Samsaung screens, which just confirms who dominates the flagship phone catagory.
2:33 That's not the 5x lens on the iPhone, it's the main lens. Probably because you were not far enough or because the light was not enough for the 5x lens
That’s the point it was ultra bright outside. Shouldn’t be doing that. 5X crop shouldn’t be happening on some of those far away portraits like the one of me on the ship. That was a software mistake they need to look into
@@dannywinget Yes, I believe it's probably due to focusing distance/focusing issues. I've also had problems with the 5x on my 15 PM, sometimes it doesn't kick or it switches back and forth with the 1x all the time
Hey! I’m trying to decide if I want to send my 15 pro max back for the s24 ultra. I’m coming from an s21 ultra. Do you know which camera is more color accurate? I took pictures with my s21 ultra and 15 pro max of early morning sunrise. The sky was really blue and kind of a cool purple and the galaxy got it spot on but the iPhone made it almost washed out grayish purple and the blue had a more yellow tint in it. It bothers me a lot. What do you think?
The camera's on both are so close now, that you need a professional to point out the very small quality difference. I would choose the phone you want, regardless of the camera. The camera's are basically equal at this point. 🙂
Just keep your s21 ultra, you still got a good amount of updates left for it, wait until you truly feel like its worth an upgrade, ai is the new trend let samsung cook with it for 1-2 more years then decide
Same thing with iphone, if leaks are correct the iphone 17 line up will be the best lineup ever, all cameras will be 48mp and we might get a new punchole or under display face id design
Computational photography is so unpredictable. You just need to change the angle slightly and you can get completely different results from the same phone let alone a different brand.
to anyone wondering which phone to choose, choose iPhone if you want a better camera. I have an S24U and the real dealbreaker is the SHUTTER LAG which makes all of the moving subjects blurry and noisy as well specially in fairly lit and dim lighting environment. if you're not particular about the camera, the S24U is a better choice being an android and it has better functionalities.
For pictures I prefer the S24U but video 15PM I also see more highlights with the shots of the iPhone in photos and video so Samsung does better in that regard but I don't really care
I think, in general, Apple is 60% more successful for photography, and this goes up to 75% for video, but phones are not just about the camera for me, as a Samsung user, the screen is a great source of satisfaction, android gives me great freedom, at the end of the day. In the camera department, there is a satisfactory situation on both sides, as claimed, Xiaomi or other Chinese companies do not offer cameras at this level, congratulations apple, congratulations samsung (Apple's image processing department really needs to be appreciated. The A17 processor probably provides a great advantage in this respect.) I am not economically ready to upgrade to a model higher than the s23 and it is not wrong to say that this is an unnecessary update, let's continue to follow the ever-improving technology. Thank you for the review. This update rumor caught my attention. It's nice to see a comparison and hear these from an experienced master. Good job.

Very good job 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Great review. I'd say to people, rely less on the auto settings, and learn more about using manual pro settings (and filters) to get what you want. The camera is just a tool used to capture your moments. It's the photographer's vision and ability to connect to what they see.
I want to tell you 1 thing danny... you're the best one who makes comparisons. I like both, but if I have to choose 1 I'll stick with the S24 ultra. I'm a samsung user but I prefer the pics/vids from the iphone based on your sample shots. Personally, i prefer brighter photos on the iphone vs those that are too dark/contrasty on the samsung.
Hi Danny did you enable Scene Optimizer of the S24 for this comparison? On my own testing the camera behaves differently and captures more vibrant images when left on. 😊
Yes It is on since it is on by default by Samsung. If they didn’t want it on, they would disable it by default. Vibrant images aren’t a bad thing IMO especially in certain environments.
@@chrisramos604@chrisramos604 I have not changed my camera settings, and the "scene optimiser" was on by default with the max setting, so this review would be the best representative of Samsung software optimisations.
Color/light accuracy and detail retention is a big thing for me so I would say iPhone ... BUT those dam flares are a huge problem and could actually make me prefer the s24s film/pictures. They are so close nowadays ... both phones share almost all of the major features so Im not sure you can go wrong no matter which you choose.
Please test on Galaxy in 50mp and 200mp modes, with and without zoom. You will see how the exaggerated post processing is ruining the photos and making them useless and Samsung is not giving a damn about the problem.
Can you also compare how those phones perform with 1,5x zoom and 2x zoom? Galaxy S24 Ultra can shoot 50MP 2x photos. Also, its 9,9x zoom is far sharper than the default 10x zoom, so lets see how your tests will prove that with the scenery you typically shoot. :) Not sure why nobody talks about the possibility to shoot 37MP photos, as well. They are the 16:9 crop from the 4:3 50MP photos. Samsung added these after my repeated requests last year under many of their videos and the forum. Even the Galaxy A54 got that camera update.
I am not an Apple fan, I'm writting this from an android phone but honestly 15 pro max just destroys the Samsung in camera comparisson. To whoever wants to buy a phone with a good camera performance Iphone is still a better choice, maybe in a couple of years things will change, but currently that is how the things are standing.
It is amazing how the results from your tests for the Samsung Ultra 24 v iPhone pros max are the complete opposite of other tests I have seen from camera testers on TH-cam. In my mind it puts a question mark against your testing or possibly other testers. Who is manipulating the tests to get the desired results they want? There is something not right about all these TH-cam smart phone testers.
You can believe whoever you want. I have been doing this a long time. Software updates can change the experience so results can change periodically. This is my second testing phase after the update so I do them to see what changes throughout the life cycle of the phone.
Team Samsung or Team Apple after the software update?
I do prefer the Samsung side of the photography force on that one lol

I'm a samsung user but I prefer the pics/vids from the iphone based on your sample shots. Personally, i prefer brighter photos on the iphone vs those that are too dark/contrasty on the samsung.
Hi Danny did you enable Scene Optimizer of the S24 for this comparison? On my own testing the camera behaves differently and captures more vibrant images when left on. 😊
Yes It is on since it is on by default by Samsung. If they didn’t want it on, they would disable it by default. Vibrant images aren’t a bad thing IMO especially in certain environments.
@@dannywinget if I'm not mistaken, it is off by default I have to ON it on the settings when I got the phone
S24 Ultra the best 🎉
can you make a comparison between, s23 ultra and s24 ultra, interms of camera!
The major galaxy update was in night mode. Why didn't you review it?
It’s in the next video. I am releasing a night mode only video
Please test on Galaxy in 50mp and 200mp modes, with and without zoom. You will see how the exaggerated post processing is ruining the photos and making them useless and Samsung is not giving a damn about the problem.
I agree 50 and 200 are really bad. I love the s24 ultra, however, I'm going with the iPhone because the Samsung is too inconsistent
@@graham1155how is it bad its alot more better but using higher megapixels on zoom doesn’t always end up well
5:18
S24U have problem when you shot wide 0.6 with horizontal position. But when you shot with vertical posisition will no problem at all, 😢
You're vids are very good bruh
Keep up with your good works
Im in NY i can't wait to get this update. It just keeps gstting better and better! Thank you samsung!
Not sure why nobody talks about the possibility to shoot 37MP photos, as well. They are the 16:9 crop from the 4:3 50MP photos. Samsung added these after my repeated requests last year under many of their videos and the forum. Even the Galaxy A54 got that camera update.
i really love my s24 ultra . that 5x sensor is amazing
Iphone photos looks okay but s24 ultra is still the king of photos and I think everyone will agree
And you See. No one agree. That candy color are ugly aß fuck
No it doesn’t iPhone isn’t even in top 5, its video is the only thing carrying it,1st vivo 2nd xiaomi 3rd samsung 4th one plus 5th sony xperia
Put Xiaomi 14 Ultra, X100 Pro and X7 Ultra to fight!!
Nice vidz as always, Danny!
About video, Apple has the crown, as always.
Android cameras/system needs the address the constant exposure change and over raised
Very close! Think I gotta give the win to the iPhone though
Not by a long shot, this is a Samsung Win
@@NaterFernat maybe in zoom photos that’s about it

I hope the new Samsung next generation It will come with a 1 inch camera sensor kit.
Are you slow?
Will Samsung give more camera updates for improving it??
Definitely. I'm sure it will get a few more camera updates.
100%
Yep, that's what they've done since the S21 Ultra. And they made a huge step up with the updates since then.
Actually, you can see the camera comparison you are working on next: Galaxy S24 Plus vs Galaxy S24 Ultra
