Thanks for watching! Are you someone who wants the more well rounded smartphone camera or the one that can get a more professional result?
    -
    Quick notes
    1. Samsung has released a camera update. It actually came out the same day this video released and improves upon some of the issues I highlighted in this video.
    2. After staring at these photos even longer I do want to give the iPhone credit for it's white balance. Even thought I preferred the jpeg images from the Samsung for their resolution and overall look, the iPhone did a better job with the white balance.

The best camera is the camera you have with you. I am a retired photographer that got tired of carrying gear everywhere and am also pretty tired of extensive post processing. I use a S24 Ultra now as my primary camera because I always have it with me and the pictures it takes are almost always exceptional right out of the box. I lean toward the "postcard" look anymore because it packs the most wow factor. And the Samsung's auto processing packs in a lot of wow into a small space that I prefer and feel a photograph actually needs to make it appealing and attention getting to the average eye. I call it the punch factor. This is of course personal preference. But most of the people I show my pictures to seem to feel the same way. There's a reason people like postcards.

Ah yes… The reason I left Samsung (Android) years ago for iPhone pro max - Samsung promising to fix camera issues with updates after a new phone launches - and would never fix anything. Camera Focusing issues in low light, bad video quality, slow shutter speeds, etc. I know iPhone is not perfect - but one thing I love about iPhone is its consistency. You will never see iPhone pro model with bad video quality issues, slow shutter speeds, or focusing issues

    • @STR1XDLB
      @STR1XDLB 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@rdrive1 Wdym they definetly solved shutter speed everyone said it s faster and if you choose prioritize speed or whatever it s called you can shoot even faster. It might not still be as consistent as the iphone but still a step in the right direction. And ofc it s going to have focusing issues iphone is basically cheating until samsung will put a lidar sensor on their phones too.

I'm not anything close to a photographer, but I take pictures daily for my work (dog walker). The comments I got about my pictures once I switched from iPhone to Samsung have been night at day. Apple makes a good phone. Samsung makes a good phone that can multi task... all depends on what you need and want. The majority of android phone's are no good, but buy a flagship Samsung, and you can screen mirror Netflix for the kids while watching/listening to a podcast TH-cam while surfing the web all from one device! For me these functions are used every day but for most people they are ok with just a phone. I also wouldn't be able to go back to something without waterproofing or 10x optical zoom. The list goes on and on and typically the only complaints are from other Apple user's complaining about poor multimedia sharing or no imessage bubbles but that is all Apple programming to make people not like android and it really works! It's all in your ecosystem and what you need/wan, but there is no argument about what device can multitask better! IMO

You're only one who made a review I wanted to see. Because I don't use these AI tools in most of the time in my daily life and I really care about the cameras for taking not standart photos in Auto mode. I think that this phone should be a good tool for daily life and I'd like to see that from the point of photography. As you said 90% of people will not use it professionally, but I wanted to be in that 10% of people who would like to create with this phone. And you told me everything about this phone for photography. Need to test it now :) thanks for this review❤

So true! The basic idea is S24 Ultra is versatile and you sometimes get pictures beyond expectations with no professional hassle... I find S24 Ultra an exceptional and reliable tool and I leave my Sony A6600 or my Sony A7III home, without big remorse... It's definitely other feeling you get shooting with S24 Ultra - but hey!, a Smallrig 4610 dedicated metal cage(similar to equivalent Smallrig Branon Li cage for Iphone 15 Pro Max) - gives you a bit of extra taste and style... I know is just for looks sometimes but everyone here I believe is addicted to gadgets and accesories .... I find your review to be an honest one - and this is my highly praised quality all the way - so I respect your work here and I understand your mixed feelings... but I myself made a hard choice - and got the S24 Ultra, leaving the Iphone circle of trust in the past - and man I don't have the slightest regret whatsoever! Big change - but I believe that Samsung went deep in the future here - and they don't seem to stop improving it, with new updates! The thing is we live challenging times and photography is an accesible art to all of us - we just have to reach for it! Great review! Usually they misiform you about this particular phone models' comparison - and they put Iphone on the highest top and it's not entirely true - everybody has to try the real thing before they become a believer! You've done it - and I know for sure you did - because we've both come to same conclusions! Respect!

Thanks for this. As a photographer, I get tired of reviewers only comparing SOOC jpegs. I shoot raw and edit all pics in LR, even if just to do a few quick adjustments. I want the most usable raw file that I can work with for dynamic range, resolution, etc. So far, I’ve found mostly good results from Apple ProRaw and have even produced some quality prints from those files. But, I’m also heavily invested in the Apple ecosystem, so there’s that. 🤣

At this point I really don't see the point in someone spending $7,000 on a camera or even $1,000 for that matter. The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and iPhone 15 Pro Max already take such high quality pictures that the miniscule differences you might see when comparing them to a professional camera are so negligible that you might as well just spend your money on one of these two flagships if you want a great camera experience, not to mention thousands of other features.

    I. Samsung Galaxy S24 Camera Specifications for Professional Photography
    Title: Pioneering Precision and Versatility
    1. High-Resolution Primary Sensor:
    • Specification: The Galaxy S24 likely boasts a primary camera sensor with a resolution upwards of 108 megapixels. This sensor enables incredibly detailed images, beneficial for professional-grade photography where clarity and detail are paramount.
    • Technical Insight: High pixel count is instrumental in producing large prints and offers significant cropping flexibility without compromising on quality.
    2. Variable Aperture Lens:
    • Specification: A feature Samsung has innovated with, offering a lens that can switch between different apertures (e.g., f/1.5 for low light conditions and f/2.4 for brighter environments).
    • Technical Insight: This allows for superior control over depth of field and light intake, mimicking the versatility of DSLR cameras.
    3. Advanced Image Stabilization:
    • Specification: Incorporation of both Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and AI-based stabilization for video and photo captures.
    • Technical Insight: Essential for professional photography, it minimizes blurring caused by hand movements, especially in low-light conditions or during long-exposure shots.
    4. Pro Mode with RAW Support:
    • Specification: Offers manual controls over ISO, shutter speed, exposure, and focus, along with the ability to capture images in RAW format.
    • Technical Insight: RAW images contain all the data captured by the sensor, giving professionals the maximum latitude for post-processing.
II. iPhone 15 Pro Camera Specifications for Professional Photography
Title: Unmatched Clarity and Color Fidelity
    1. Advanced Sensor Technology:
    • Specification: The iPhone 15 Pro likely continues Apple’s tradition of focusing on sensor quality over quantity, with a lower-resolution primary sensor that prioritizes light sensitivity and color accuracy.
    • Technical Insight: A larger sensor pixel size helps in capturing more light, reducing noise, and improving overall image quality in varied lighting conditions.
    2. LiDAR Scanner for Depth:
    • Specification: A LiDAR scanner assists in creating depth maps for photos, improving the accuracy of bokeh effects in portrait mode and enhancing autofocus in low-light conditions.
    • Technical Insight: This technology mimics professional cameras’ ability to isolate subjects from the background precisely, ideal for portrait photography.
    3. ProRAW Format:
    • Specification: Offers the ability to shoot in Apple’s ProRAW format, combining the information of RAW with iPhone’s computational photography benefits.
    • Technical Insight: This feature provides photographers with a greater dynamic range and more flexibility in post-processing while retaining the advantages of Apple’s image processing algorithms.
    4. Cinematic Mode and ProRes Video:
    • Specification: Advanced video recording features that allow for depth control and HDR in videos, and the ability to record in ProRes format.
    • Technical Insight: These features are geared towards professionals needing high-quality video content, offering control over depth of field and high-fidelity video output.
    III. Comparative Analysis
    Title: Bridging Technological Excellence
    • Resolution and Sensor Technology: The Galaxy S24’s higher megapixel count offers advantages in terms of detail and cropping flexibility, whereas the iPhone 15 Pro’s focus on sensor technology might provide superior performance in low light and color accuracy.
    • Aperture and Depth Control: Samsung’s variable aperture offers versatility similar to traditional cameras, while iPhone leverages its LiDAR scanner for precision in depth-sensing, beneficial for portrait shots and augmented reality applications.
    • Image Stabilization: Both devices offer advanced stabilization techniques, essential for professional photography. The differences may lie in the implementation and effectiveness across various shooting scenarios.
    • Professional Shooting Modes and Formats: Both devices support manual control and RAW shooting, catering to professional photographers’ need for post-processing. The choice between Pro Mode and ProRAW may come down to brand preference and the specific post-processing workflow.

The iPhone raw files are way overcooked. You can't even call them raw. And the dynamic range of those files is very limited.
Also, expert raw is not the best raw samsung can give you. The default camera app produces better raw files without sharpening and noise reduction. They need more work to edit them, but the final result is way better than iPhone and pixel 8 pro.

Bro stop selling lies. Non of the phones have the high iso performance, low noise level, fine detail and editing flexibility of the full frame mirrorless. Zoom it at just 50 - 100% and its not even close. A phone over a larger stacked /BSI sensor with larger pixels??? really? No real professional is gonna choose a phone to shoot high fashion, editorial, weddings, sports. Only landscape due to computational photography in phones with hdr tech.

As a self taught landscape photographer, James Kropp Photography (my personal photography website). I know that 200 mp is overkill from a tiny camera sensor in a smartphone. I have used Apple ProRAW to make amazing photos with the proper editing setup. This is someone who doesn’t take into consideration the Leica has better use of its megapixels than a smartphone camera even does. This is not a fair comparison because a real camera takes better photos than a smartphone. It is made to take photos and not be used on a phone.

Like you said - (Consistency) - That’s what Apple products provide -
Consistency with the camera - and still to this day has the best video recording quality of all the competition.
Now, is everything perfect? No it’s not - but with each new release the technology will keep getting better with new software, and updated sensors

@edgargalicia5071 It is definitely NOT more professional. The iPhone is for kids and people that can't understand technology. The selling point for iPhones is that they are easy to use and plays games better. Sounds like it's directed towards children to me...

@@lbeetech Your comment is what is for children. You know why it plays games better? Because the performance is better. Games, video, apps, you name it. Way more power! What does recording professional video in log have to do with kids. You sound like a kid.

    • @arturl4019

I don't think it's that simple. What the reviewer said was that you'd get a "better" raw file out of the iPhone, but I wouldn't necessarily call it a phone for professional photographers due to more limited manual options when shooting compared to the Samsung. So no, there's no just black and white here, which the reviewer tried to convey in the end.

Apple decided to increase the sharpening even more in updates wich made it worse.
