"Wherever government becomes involved with spirituality, the spiritual attainment ceases to be the focus of that tradition, and defence of an identity starts to become the whole point." Well said. Separation of church and state is the greatest gift to the genuinely spiritual person.

As a practicing (Western) LHP Magician, I would like to add that while LHP inverts the search for divinity to within, part of recognizing that inner divinity is that everyone else also has that same inner divinity. Thus, “your fist’s freedom ends where my nose begins” still applies. Anyone who uses LHP or any doctrine as an excuse to harm others is just an awful person, regardless of their spiritual or philosophical beliefs.

Like doctors and their practice, I am compelled to ask if practice has made you any good. You may take this as a compliment or an insult, it really is neutral. I find those who do their wilt with group inclusion to be the real Evil in the world, those who dabble in the downward slope of matter are really just doing experiments on their own. The Satan in the Questioner's Role is essential. Being questioned when we do not have the answers perturbs us. I find it interesting, I get to derive the answers.

@@dsm5d723 I’d like to start by giving the disclaimer that I can only speak to LHP as I practice, and as I was instructed/initiated.
With that said, it honestly has, yes. It’s made me a much more confident person and facilitated my acceptance of things about myself that were causing emotional discord. Doing that heavy shadow work is part of the path, you can’t accept the the “dark”, taboo, or negative aspects of life or divinity if you can’t accept them about yourself as well.
It’s ultimately a path of self empowerment, which I feel gets lost in the weeds of the stereotype and some people who unfortunately perpetuate it. Think less “evil cultist plotting mankind’s downfall” and more “mythological hero willingly entering and facing their own personal underworld”.

Interesting topic as it is easy to misunderstand. If everything is a matter of perspective, could one not reasonably interpret a left hand path to be a sort of depravity as much as the right hand path? The true balance would seem to be moderating between the possible extremes of love and hate that allow for such unbridled passions.

I suspected, the Left Hand Path - had to do with Mary Magdalene. An Ancient Tile Mosiac of Mary Magdalene and Jesus recently found in Israel - with them enCircled by 12 Apostles. Has Mary Magdalene, the Firstborn Daughter - standing to the Left of Jesus her Heavenly Twin. Pictured for the whole of a TH-cam video called - The Gospel of Mary Magdalene of Gnostic Spirituality.... That has Similarities to - The Statue of Liberty 🗽 that the French Masons gave the American Masons.
Starting off with.... Mary Magdalene wearing a Cresent Moon Crown 🌙 that is laid down on The Statue of Liberty's head - With Jesus' 7 Rays of The Sun Crown ☀️ on to of it.
While the Redheaded Jesus is made out of Colorful Tiles - The Historically Readheaded Mary Magdalene, is made out of mostly Blue and Green Tiles. With The Statue of Liberty 🗽 being made out of Copper a Reddish Colored Metal - that turns Blue Green as it ages.
And Copper, Venus and Female all using the Same Symbol ♀️ of a Circle representing Heaven over a Crucifix. (Gnosticism - a Crucifix in a Circle). With Cooper being similar in spelling to the British name Cooper meaning Wooden Cup Chalice 🏆 with references to The Carpenter's Son Jesus and The Holy Grail Bloodline. And Venus (a name for Mary Magdalene) usually pictured as a Pearl (Moon), a Jewel (Jew-ish El-ohim) standing in a Clam (C-hrist L-ike Lamb) by the Blue Green Sea. And being a Female.
With the ♀️ also being a simplified Egyptian Ankh Key 🗝️ of Life - Eye of Horus - God's Eye - Third Spiritual eYe. That's in reference to our Intuition - Inner Voice - Six Sense - Gut Feeling - Instinct - Conscience - Synchronicities and Coincidences. That Christians, call The Holy Ghost. With many scriptures being translated from Egyptian Aramaic, Hebrew and Greek. To include the Bible. And multiple - Lost Books.
With The Statue of Liberty 🗽 standing on Ellis Island - by the Blue Green Sea. With Ellis being derived from Elijah - And Ellis meaning - Yahweh is God & The Lord is God.

Darkness is an absence of light (I would say God) not it's inverse. Shine light into darkness and there is light, but you cannot shine darkness into light. Please don't interpret this as me saying that we don't have both light and darkness within us, nor that the boundary is clear. Indeed, complexity appears to dissolve this boundary, as we are told that greed is good and that hording is a necessity. The left hand path, as this channel so brilliantly points out is a legitimate path, but one fraught with dangers. This is the basis of my daily jihad.

A very balanced perspective on the Left-hand Path. Seeing content like this is refreshing. Most western LHP practitioners never study the eastern literature and completely fail to understand the inherent non-dual aspects in tantric Śivaism and Śaktism. They also fail to see the importance of love, as you eloquently pointed out. Bhakti yoga, which is all about love and devotion, is common in transgressive Hinduism and Buddhism. Also, there is nothing in the eastern literature which promotes bolstering one's ego to godhood. The transgressive tantric devotees are very much trying to dissolve their egos. An aspirant may arrive at the same place by way of either path. I also typically associate the RHP with gently stripping away the layers of "selfness", versus the LHP approach of squashing the ego until it implodes.

Personally I don't know where I am spiritually just now. I practice the tree of life and find Qabalah fascinating. I have a long way to go in my journey. I could be wrong, but....
Temple of Set has a statement on it's site, and I'm stating from memory, "Not Thy Will But Mine". That seems to be the difference. The difference as I understand is the LHP is the pursuit of one's desires and wishes, in the absence of how that might fit into the overall picture of what is the most beneficial (even most beneficial to oneself).
RHP seems to be more to about aligning with creation and what's beneficial for all. Letting go of what your mind or psyche thinks it wants and thinks is the best way to obtain it, and allowing creator to bring the best outcome.
I know I can manifest things that I want, but I also have the wisdom to know that there are times when I have seen something that was so perfectly aligned and took so many things to happen in order to manifest that there is no way my mind could have come up with such an elegant outcome. Like when something 'bad' happens, and then only in retrospect you see how amazing of a blessing it was.
    My 2 cents.

This is interesting as always. I must say that I had always understood that the “left hand path” was a mid 19th century evocation, used to create a duality to assist in people defining themselves in opposition to established ideas. Humans like signifiers and being able to label oneself within a group, left or right, good or bad, white or dark are all shorthand’s.
From philosophy I had always known that eventually all actions become meaningless and meaningful, I have been meditating for a while on an idea which is best expressed here as “if you understand everything, you forgive everything”. This is a far deeper idea than it first appeared to me and I have derived much truth from this simple sentence.
Again I instinctively I think understood that most things eventually meet up, opposites reflect themselves of course. So any real spiritual direction that uses counter normal modes of practice would have to transgress the individuals norms as opposed to societies for true enlightenment. This is I think best show from john dee’s practices with enochian, he was an outlier and i think we can agree that the beings he communed with might have been some form of angel as he thought it might have been some form of demon, the difference being negligible.
It’s interesting to understand the first use of the left hand path from tantric practices, I didn’t know that and it’s enlightening to me. The ideas behind common expressions of the left hand path, merely don’t attract me for reasons of aesthetics. I still have too much christian schooling living on my mind to explore such rituals. I find my alignment better with a more neutral pantheon for me which is the Egyptian. It has the great archetypes, it has a well trodden route with the golden dawn which provides a lot of helpful iconography and on a practical level it resonates.
Thanks for such a useful video.

This is an absolutely amazing look at the LHP, you covered the subject well and really did it justice, like you said, it's a touchy subject for some.
I haven't read the recommended books yet so I'm unsure if your unaware or just chose to omit this information: The Western LHP (as opposed to the eastern approaches) focuses on bringing humanity (or just those that are strong and determined enough to do so) into godhood. The alchemical process of self deification is the LHP as we aren't seeking to sit with or near the creator but instead further away, creating our own worlds and becoming the gods of a new world.
The LHP is, like you said, against cultural norms but outside of the spiritual development this can provide it also acts as a vehicle for cultural and societal rebellion and evolution. Rebellion against institutions that are supposed to help but in fact hinder or limit those who would work with them.
There's a whole other aspect to this subject.

This reminds me of a story by Edgar Allen Poe called: "The System of Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether". Where the Doctor's revolutionary treatment for his asylum patients is to allow them to indulge in whatever foul acts that got them committed in the first place. "Do what you need to do to feel better" is his mantra. In the end, we find the real Doctor and his staff are held hostage in locked underground cells, while the lunatic imposters have been running the asylum.

    • @jackiec498
      @jackiec498 ปีที่แล้ว

Quite reminds me of what doctors are literally doing with adolescents struggling with self acceptance (which is, like, every adolescent) and confused in thier identity, are being told that they were born into the wrong body and that they were meant to be the opposite gender. Then they go on to make this child so they can never procreate, and through medication and surgical mutilation, attempt to create a sort of parody of the opposite sex but everything is plastic and of course only for show (because medical science obviously can't change someone's sex) and so nothing works, the child is forced to take pills the rest of thier (usually short, thanks to suicide) lives and often has to have a colostomy bag and repeat the surgery every so often to maintain a wound that they won't allow to heal.
Seems sort of like the lunatics have taken over the asylum to me?

Even Jesus was accused of being a pawn of the darker forces. Everything has its light and shadow elements. The objective is to maximize the light while minimizing the shadow. Altough there are a thing or two I might disagree, but still respect, I have to agree with you in many other things. And because of these things you mentioned I realized that in my personal practice I have to acknowledge that I definitely have missed a step or some steps after reviewing it, which is good because the LHP is also about learning, understanding, practicing and applying; and definitely there are some things I still need to learn and correct. Thank you again.

This video also helps contextualize the sort of practice that a friend of mine was given by his guru. He was a serious practicing Jainist and he was told that he would not be allowed to return to his ashram until he had become comfortable eating veal. Then he could return to Jain vegetarian as something that he chose rather than as something that was habituated into him as being instinctively wrong from childhood. This practice was exceptionally hard for him, as he found meat to be revolting and the act of eating it to be shameful. He told me that he vomited the first few times he forced himself to do so.

    wow
astounding - explaining a non conventional topic without complexity, succinctly within 15mins - that’s a gift
I’m stunned at this knowledge which could take a lay person years to ordinarily come to these conclusions
    ---
    A take home for me:
    - further clarity around the parodoxical path of Magick science. [ The paradoxicalness is something I’m trying to extricate/ dissipate in practice-approach that’s right for me ]
    - I look up into the sky at night and I see a magnificent display of glimmering stars set against a dark background: to remind us that in the right context darkness and light compliments one another
    - harmony, like yin & yang
    - in extremes of each there is harm where balance is malign
I’m sure there is something for all to reflect on in this informative video. ...Comparatively, I recall the fictional Dr Strange movie, where the Eternal One portrayed by Tilda Swank, had accessed some of the Chaos demon’s “eternity” - which she used to do good and benefit many/ essentially Earth (while gaining the benefit of immortality). But that was a Hollywood fictional story lol

I’m open to the Leftist Beliefs as it remains to be part of the divine and the aesthetic that it encompasses and how the dark are romanticized which is both honest and humbling to admit. The darker aspects of my mind tend to like how power exchange and voluntary ownership of one person by another is taboo and also in my opinion beautiful too. Accepting that I am both light and dark is in a sense where I feel my own “middle path” remains and partly why I lean towards Buddhism and Wicca than to entertain extremes of either the left or the right. I found this to be thought provoking and look forward to hearing how this path views things such as crime or murder if it can even be justified by The Left Hand Path. I would like to know if the responsibilities of those on this path are held to any moral values or if being sane, treating others as you would like to be treated or caring for one another are just attributes of The Right Hand Path. Action is what marks the differences in my mind between the two, not just ideas and philosophies.

I am not a LHP follower, although in my lineage there are tantric traits that might be perceived as borderline, as in any shaivite path. I've watched a lot of videos on the topic - even from channels you have relationship with - which are continuously missing the point, focusing on the antinomial philosophical BS, like if you would ever go anywhere with an antinomial approach. This is the first video that relates the LHP to the Aghori path, that is where it comes from. Finally! Also, the very important point that the LHP is the most difficult and dangerous, as it requires an almost otherworldly discipline. This is why I think that in the West, where there's a lack of lineage and guru parampara, one should think thrice before taking this path.

This brings alot of clarity to the issue. 'Left hand path' seems to be interpreted by some as 'anti-divinity', or somehow 'anti-goodness', but a bona-fide spiritual path brings one closer to divinity, right hand or left hand. The occult community also sometimes makes it seem like 'left hand path' is just a nice way of saying satanism or demonolatry, and that's just confusing.

The unification of consciousness from the dipole, the form of 0=2 into 0=1, requires enormous honesty and bravery. LHP is navigating the self truthfully, ripping up roots of perception and the ego. It doesn’t shy away from dark impulses or non-conformist perspectives; it embraces them to truly understand their roots. The Qlippoth may be seen ultimately as refractions of the virtues of the Sephiroth, necessary to achieve Infinity and the path of return.
Too many people subjugate their darkness and bury their unconscious impulses, repressing their natures until they form malformations that rule them. LHP doesn’t say that the demons in the closet do not exist, it runs into the closet to meet them, to understand them. It is easy, however, to get lost in the delusions and illusions of the Qlippoth, or of maya.
When a person makes the descent into the Qlippoth, navigating the shadow until the point of negation, annihilation of the ego, then they can see past maya and view cosmic unity. This final surrender comes at the moment of experiencing death before Crossing the Abyss, and requires one understand the doctrine of Tau.
In the crown of Kether, “God” and “Satan” may be reconciled.
Ultimately, RHP and LHP lead to the same realization, the most simple and hidden truth in, and beyond, existence.

The left hand path and right hand path have as many variations as there are people, we all come to the subject with our own personal, cultural and religous passions and prejudices. Accepted cultural falsehoods or erroneous ideas about this entity or that, give the opportunity to confront the commonly held beliefs that a particular entity just represents the bad, the classic one being lust, as we are biologically programmed to reproduce at every given opportunity, it is a prime human motivator. By approaching entities that are commonly thought just to be about sex and lust, it gives an opportunity for self improvement and awareness, as one passes through the fog and finds things out for themselves. This may sound off topic, but for some, even the thought of doing this would be taboo or uncomfortable in the extreme, so to some would definitely feel left hand path, approaching the uncomfortable for self improvement or whatever you want to call it. Fascinating video and excellent observations on today's society, none of the young people I know are interested in spiritual matters at all, maybe it's just the young people I happen to know, or maybe not, time will tell I guess. Thank you for the video, it got me thinking.

Western LHP isn't about enlarging the ego, but manifesting the true ego, which isn't considered a part of a Universal God as in the RHP, but "a star" as Crowley said. LHP has no moral rules as opposed to RHP with its commandments. Which doesn't necessarily mean a LHP practitioner will become a harm machine, but that every LHP practitioner will behave according to his or her WISDOM. In fact I always wonder why isn't there a "Thou shalt not rape" or "Thou shalt not enslave" commandment in the Bible. BTW, you aren't "forced" to love others in the LHP, even if others have the same nature as you do.
