My 2 cents.. Do not listen to people on the internet telling you about all these rules for dressing......... your body your clothes, your choice. Wear what you want. Some things look better than others... woop-de-shit.... the world wont end if you wear heels with skinny jeans.
Here's my advice.... STOP FOLLOWING TRENDS AND YOU'LL LIVE A VERY HAPPY LIFE OF NON-COMPARISON. FIND YOUR OWN STYLE.

At this point in my life, I completely ignore when people say a look or clothing item is "dated". Because even dress styles Jackie O wore in the 60s are still in style and currently being sold even in high end stores. Point being, everything comes back "in style" over and over... to the point it just becomes a staple/iconic look. Skinny pants (jeans) included.
The "dated" looks are way more flattering and attractive 😆

IMO the monochrome "don't" top looks better and more chic than the green tucked-in top that make her appear boxy and top heavy.

This works very well with your body type honey. Other rules may apply for a pear shaped body type. Skinny jeans and crop top on an hour glass woman has a timeless "right looker" effect. You were blessed with a dramatic petite silouhette almost everything looks elegant on you.

Anyway, these ladies with the thin bodies go out there to be looked at. The styles make come back eventually. What new they are going to invent? They have no other choice but return to past so the few years old style look dated, and so people buy more and more new stuff. It is all about $$$
A nice tailored blazer would’ve looked amazing with the “Don’t” outfit. High heels and all to elongate the silhouette.

Yes, I agree. But she also looked older. Like a middle aged mom with the green boxy shirt. Also like a mature woman in her 50 or 60s trying to look fashionable in the cream blazer. There's a difference between dressing elegant yet fashionable and dressing conservative/ mature.
I sew my own clothes and tailor what i buy. I don't understand why these items weren't more tailored to fit?? They looked oversized in the wrong areas and took over her frame, to my eyes.

I avoid putting anything else “2010s” in the outfit w skinny jeans- that includes ballet flats. I make sure every other piece is modern. Heels would work, boots, loafers, clogs, anything but ballet flats or flat ankle boots or T-strap sandals, the 2010s staples….

I don’t think we can say this or that is “not flattering.” It totally depends on a persons body. I’m quite small and find that a large top like the green one swallows me and makes me look boxy…..not modern. Whereas a crop top accentuates the small curves I have that need some extra emphasis.
And I must say, my style must be “dated.” But also isn’t the Y2K trend a thing…..?
Anyways ladies…..It ALWAYS depends on your body. Get to know YOUR BODY and find the right styles for YOU!

If someone is uncomfortable showing their hips, they would not wear skinny jeans
I don't know anything about fashion but I thought the heels and tighter top looks more youthful and the later looks are more mature and chic looking. Both are good.

The first look with heels and tight top was my favorite 🫣
I wore skinny jeans for years, but now I can’t as they feel sooo dated, I used to wear them with heels, I threw on a old pair recently to walk the dog and realised how uncomfortable they are😫 these days I’ll wear a straight leg or mom jeans, but you can’t go wrong with a good pair of high waisted trousers they look great with any footwear. 😚

You are one of the few adult women who actually look good in ballet flats! I think it is your thin, straight figure. Lots of women in my town wear ballet flats & the shoes look terrible on them, shortening their legs or just ruining their outfit. A small heel or some casual shoes work better for most older women. But the flats look good on you!
And as a goth I would get told "Don't wear all black, it's to dark" that's the point, I like my all black outfits, they make me feel happy an comfortable

Ballets shoes lovely
I’m a size 12-14 with a pear shape. Personally, “dated” outfits look best on me. I try my best to NEVER wear jeans or pants tbh, but if I ever had to I’d go with an ankle- cropped mid-rise skinny in dark wash, or a high waist wide leg flare in dark wash. Typically, a-line is my favorite silhouette, and I mostly wear midi/maxi length skirts that are pretty much appropriate for anything! I worked at a summer camp with kids that took me camping in the woods and I paired lightweight midi skirts with camp t-shirts and keds for a very vintage aesthetic. A topknot and Casio watch, et voila! There’s really no occasion where skirts aren’t appropriate, but if I HAD to wear skinny jeans, I’d totally pair them with heels and a blazer. In my opinion, that’s a timeless look.

Tbh the recommended looks you have make you appear older and looks like an outfit people over 35-40 would wear. There's nothing wrong with an aged look, but it's not for me. Appears very much like what "normal not actors" wear on commercials on cable tv

What if you have short legs?
I am convinced that flat, particularly, Ballet flats, only look good on narrow feet or those with a distinct arch. Flat shoes never flat feet, so wear what looks good on you.

What on earth… the heels and the white top looked much better, much more clean cut and classier. But I guess now a days what’s in style is everything that’s ugly, baggy, & unflattering. So she is right it’s more “modern” even though it’s straight out of the 80s which had horrible style imo. 😂

Great tip but Doesn't suit my body . If my waistline isnt defined, it doesn't look good. It would look good on women that have dramatic features and more edginess. Whereas im rounded. So this tip would make me look fat and clash my body type
