Your looks are great for super chic metropolitan living. I’d love to see a video on super casual looks for us who live in the suburbs and country. We live in our jeans, in fact, I don’t think I’ve worn a pair of nice trousers in 20 years. It would be a fun challenge for you.
So glad this channel appeared in my suggestions today! Your point about the “accessories sets” was great. My Mother was born in the 1920s, and she always matched her bag to her shoes. I only started being mindful about that in the last year or so and it has made a huge impact on my style. It definitely pulls your whole outfit together. Great advice. Thank you.
I love this, too, I grew up doing this. I love the way matching (doesn’t have to be exact) accessories make an outfit look elegant, it’s a quiet, restrained touch. I occasionally want an accessory to be the star, but mostly they play support roles in my outfits, and one focal point in an outfit, not multiple ones, is best.
I like that you have about 4 really good rules per video. I stumbled on these tips during my work life, but when I retired, I struggled. I needed more casual clothes, but I did not want to look frumpy. Best advice after a lot of trial and error: Keep your best black pants, favorite blazer, best dress shoes for an "occasion." Replace the rest of your bottoms with slim leg black or gray jeans. Add more white tees and a few neutral shirts that can be worn over tees as casual jackets or on their own. Cull your accessory sets, but do it gradually if you are attached to them. Finally, think about the activities you'll be doing in retirement. I started doing yoga and added a pair of black leggings and a couple of athleisure tops I could also wear running errands.
This is my first time to watch your channel, and I subscribed. This is the best, easiest and most comprehensive guide to help me rebuild my wardrobe after losing and maintaining weight loss and body recomposition. I’m really starting from scratch. Thank you!
This is a classical paradox. The more clothes we buy, the less interesting outfits we combine for everyday wear because the amount of items to choose from is overwhelming.
Starting with the bottom is a great idea. As you say, a good choice is versatile, and lends itself to various looks - work, casual, sporty, city etc. And accessory sets is something that makes total sense.
Love the concept of creating grab & go accessory sets, what a game changer in getting ready every morning. Thanks also for the summary at the end, that's very useful.
I am proud to be the student of this wonderful expert. As always: clear, easy enough to follow and without water: just do „one, two, three“ to get the results. I envy the English speaking world in a kind way, for you are going to learn so much useful things. People, just stay tuned, and you will be among those „well dressed“ in no time
Accessories sets are a brilliant idea. I have always been into accessories but never thought of categorizing them as sets for casual, dressy, etc. You have a new subscriber!
I just subscribed after watching this video. You have an elegant practical style, and great advice. Like many viewers, I have watched numerous style videos and yours is one of the absolute best. I've never heard of accessory sets. Brilliant!
Thank you for the lovely ideas! Being 62 and having my figure somewhat changed I look for ideas of where to buy casual, or chic but comfortable for my age!
My Mother was not only a real beauty, but she always looked pulled together and stylish. Her wardrobe, while not voluminous, followed the same and similar principles.
hello! you hit the nail on the head - i don't have 2-3 tops per pants! for years i've been saying i don't have enough tops and i was right lol. love this video and i think i've watched them all. i live in a very hot casual beachy town where layering only happens maybe 3 months out of the year {and then, not everyday!}, i love styles that are a little out of the ordinary. i dress them up with artsy and sometimes colorful jewelry. would love to see more videos on styles a little more edgy / funky ... similar to the white cargo pants with white tank and white blouse! thank you so much, i really enjoy your videos!
Will you discuss vintage vs. dated tips? And how to know when to keep items that could cone back into style later vs. getting rid of them permanently? On metallics such as rose gold, gold, and silver…do you stick to your colors or can metallics work for anyone? I am cool/ light skin tone, dark hair, medium eye color, and high contrast. Love your 3 day makeover course!! You have really helped me clean out my closet and get organized!
Very informative video, as always! One can grasp so much knowledge in such a short time! And also, it's not only about what you say, but how you deliver the information - with class and elegance. I love it! 💖
Thank you for putting these ideas together for us. I now have a better idea of how to organise my existing wardrobe, and see where there are any gaps. This will mean that with a bit pf planning, I can use ALL of the things I've bought. I am so glad I found your website 🏵🌹🌺
This was an exceptionally good style video. I learned something new - the idea of creating accessories sets - brilliant- I plan to start doing that straight away!
Great advice. I know it’s not very common, but skirts and dresses are the foundation wardrobe pieces for me. I’ve just never been a fan of trousers, they’re uncomfortable and nearly impossible to fit on my straight-shaped body. I’m 62, and so tired of trying to force myself into trousers, but I still do, because I want to look relevant.
I am the same. Pants are very difficult for me to pull off. I find them uncomfortable, to wear and also because they are just not "me". I can adapt the tips presented here to my tastes and lifestyle.
I find that trousers are now in such awful fabrics that they never look right. Skirts are almost as bad, but it's easier to find good skirts in vintage or charity shops. When I go into town, apart from summer, there are very few women wearing skirts, probably 1 in every 200 :(
Accessory sets - new to me now, but I remember them from earlier I. My lifetime. Sets, deciding how to mix and match them will probably have me wearing things I haven’t worn in a while. Thanks for the inspiration!
great point about guys not having "nothing to wear' problem! Please make a video about modern dresses, silhouettes and fabrics. I love dresses but it feels like a lot of even very expensive brands sell somewhat outdated styles.
Excellent video!!! Probably the best I’ve ever seen on this topic. 👌😃👏. But….PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE share the links to the items that you showed. For example…the black trousers, the WHITE SILK BLOUSE, the STRIPED TOP, the white tank top, the leather blazer, the trench coat. I feel a huge part of the value of this video was missed because I couldn’t find those quality pieces. You miss out on the commission and we miss out on finding a piece that’s been tried and tested! Please link your items or similar quality items!! 🙏🏻😃 THANK YOU!
This is the second time I watch your channel and I ' am so happy I did it. I didn' t know about the accessories set! What a wonderful idea! I will try to do it my self ! Thank you for sharing it with us! P.S.: you look so stylish, chic and beautiful. Good morning from Athens, Greece! ❤️
It’s a joy to watch your videos Diana! ❤ I could figure out that you were Russian, because of the way you structure and convey your messages. I subscribed instantly & enjoy the experience 👍
Hello Diana! I am so happy I found your fashion channel. Your videos are wonderful. I like the way you impart so much information without having to show so many clothes. I watch many fashion videos which are great, but nothing like yours. Yours are special, many of which are short and concise. Thank you for valuable information on great style!
Just realised that I have no basic structured pants (or skirts for that matter) nor accessory sets 🤣 I live in my wide leg jeans and striped tops and runners all the time. I don’t have a statement piece either. I have a lot of work to do. 🤣 Thank got for the great video.
Thank you for all pieces of valuable advice.. Could you make some videos for teenage girls as well (advising how to find their style)? Thanks in advance
Excellent video! This is the first I've heard someone talk about accessory "sets" but it's so important! I wear a pair of adidas superstars like they're my signature piece but always looked mismatched because I had more elegant handbags.(I just bought a casual bag that's arriving soon). Do you have any videos on how to build stylish accessory sets?
You’re so welcome. I’d just love to see more! I’m a single mom that went from wearing scrubs everyday to a business casual job, and I’m clueless at 48 as to how to dress myself 😆, AND on a budget!
So happy to find your chanel! I have been struggling to find trousers that fit properly for my long torso, small waste and wide hips frame. They are either too tight or too big 😩 Size M too tight for the looser fit id want or size L are too big around my waist and bum. Dont know what to do. 😞
Thank you for a compliment , Suzy! I will be sharing a lot of tips how to dress different body shapes. Even though I try to show looks which are quite universal and work for elongating and slimming the silhouette.
Love the idea of formalising accessory sets. Done that unconsiously, but not consiously. Will do that this weekend. Loved your video, just found and subscribed to your channel. Wonderful to see this from Belgium, since I just moved back here from the US. Thanks
Loved the video. The one time i had problems with nothing to wear, was when i used to have 2,5 large wardrobes full of things i didnt love, where uncomfortable and a lot of plastic😅. I got so angry, that i decided to go back to the roots. Now my wardrobe is smaller, i love everything and high quality fabrics. Btw i love your ysl belt, is this the thin (2cm) one or is it the thicker one?..i have my eye on it, but i can't decide with one to get🤔
I never feel like I have nothing to wear, I have an abundant choice of things that I love to wear, everything else gets purged (I’m getting better at it). In my teen years, I really did have nothing to wear, just one pair each of jeans and shoes, and three t-shirts, no coat or jacket, just an old sweater. I think the secret is to buy only things that one really loves wearing. Having a favorite, flattering color palette, quality and fabric/material guidelines and personal style preference helps narrow choices down a lot, too, there are just too many “cute, fun” things out there for purchase and we all get tempted by them. I only buy genuine leather bags, belts and footwear and natural fiber fabrics plus the rayon/viscose/lyocell family fabrics, the plant-fiber based “cellulosic man-made fabrics”, not synthetics, which are plastics made from petrochemicals. I’ve wasted a lot of time and money trying to style something in a color, fabric or trend that’s out of my usual preference range. I recommend: a pro color analysis (only keep the colors you love, mine was great, but I eliminated a few colors eventually) and body-shape styling analysis, if needed. Buy simple classic, quality items, but keep the silhouettes updated, too, no baggy tunics or sweaters over skinnies or leggings!
There was a big anti-matching trend in the 90s, ever accessory in a different bright color. I just ignored it, I knew it wouldn’t last, it’s not classic or timeless.

How long do you think the wide leg trouser will stay in style?

Great tips.
Thank you ever so much . Brilliant presentation. Lots of useful info
Love that cream jacket!! What a stylish lady.
Thank you! 😊
This is by far the best video on wardrobe advice I’ve watched- and I have watched a LOT. Thank you for being so generous with sharing your knowledge ❤

You're so welcome!
This was suggested to me today also and you have such simple, excellent suggestions. I subscribed and hit the all bell also. Thank you for your video.
thank you so much! I am really glad you find it useful! welcome to the channel!
Just brilliant!
Love this.
Great tips..
thank you!
Diana, what do you use to fix your hair… I have a course hair like yours and I can’t control the spikes after washing it! Thank you!
A
Thank you for this video which I find very helpful. hope you post a more detailed video about accessory sets.
Thank you! I will 👌
Thank you Diana for the great hacks , simple and easy to follow for anyone
Thank you Irene! 🙏
Now this was very helpful... thank you so much ❤️😊
