Me too,im 4ft10. With black skinny jeans I fold them over then turn the hem up & have them skim the top of my black chelsea boots not showing any ankle. But with my docs I tuck the skinnys in. Tbh im not bothered about trying to appear tall cos it never works & the best comes in small packaging 😍
Excellent advice! As an older lady however, distressed jeans not really appropriate, particularly as I like a more polished and classic look but with a definite nod to current trends. Being only 5.3" as well can be a challenge but I'm thinning right down which is making my clothes look tons better! 😎🤗

It's never really occurred to me before but yes they definitely look better cuffed if they are a different colour to the boots!

Some great tips, thank you. I wear mainly skinny jeans so are always tucked in no matter what the colour! I’m average height 5’ 5” so jeans don’t sit high on me like they do on you. I will definitely try more straight leg styles though and roll them up. It’s actually still mild here in UK, so could bare some ankle! Very wet and windy though! 🍂

I'm tall and thin so making my legs look longer isn't my goal, and many jeans tend to be short on me anyway, so that boot-to-jeans gap at the ankle is a given! I always found it awkward and wasn't so sure how to style it, so this video is very helpful to figure out how to make that work and in what amount. It's especially nice to have guidance from someone tall like me and struggling with the length issue.
I'm also 5 ft 9 and have long legs as opposed to a long torso. I have always wondered why boots and jeans never worked! The length from Jean bottom to top of shoe was too long!!! It all makes sense now. Can't wait to shop with this new knowledge on board!
People wear what you want and how you want. Don't worry about what you look like or what other people think as long as you are comfortable. Love yourself. Following fashion rules will only cause you to miss out on some really cool clothes. Be the trend setter not the follower.

I really do struggle with white jeans and black boots and am currently trying to decide if I pack away the white jeans as the weather gets colder here in the UK or not. One thing I learned is that combat boots have different rules than booties! I was so used to having that space between the jean and boot but it does not apply to Doc Martens, which I think look better with the jean hanging over (I like the Levi rib cage straight with mine) or a skinny jean tucked in. She kind of talks about that look but just a tip I learned, don’t expose skin above the docs!
Emily, wonderful tips. If only I had seen this vid last winter when I bought far too many ankle boots instead of understanding the roll up hem. Ggrrrrr. It all seems so simple now but I had a huge issue with the raw hem/straight leg/ankle boot issue. Thank you, Emily, I get it now!! ❤️❤️

I think it wasn't. Nothing wrong with the booties, but the "pants".... The only look a bit ok was the white pants one. Jeggings are so yikes, they should be on Elba with Napoleon: banished. Frays: only if your name is Kurt Cobain, never if your middle name is MOM. Jeans = no stretch. Always 100% cotton. Always proper hems. Cuffs=wrong length for the combination.

I wear dr martens and jadons in the fall summer and winter, but whenever I have to wear them with jeans I would make sure I wore my super tight skinny jeans that can be tucked into my boots or my mom jeans and cuff them up a bit. I also like to wear flare leg jeans with platforms and idk if some stylists would like that but I like the platform covered with the jeans look

Or conceiled heels under a flare or wide-leg. It also gives more options for colours, as they don't need to match.
